  • Does Adobe Reader for iOS and Android Support Encryption with PKI Solution?

    Hello there,
I have been searching for an answer whether or not Adobe Reader for iOS and Android can read encrypted PDF files by public key infrastructure solution (encrypted by a public key, to be decrypted by its private key pair), but to date I have not found the answer.  From the Adobe web site, I understand that Adobe Reader for Android supports to read encrypted document by AES256 but it does not mention about PKI.  I had to guess that it does not support encryption with PKI but I would just like to get a formal answer, and would like to know whether Adobe Reader Mobile will support it.
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
Now we have Acrobat DC Mobile but I am still wondering if encryption/description using PKI solution (digital certificates) is supported.  Could anyone let me know?  Thank you.

  • When I try to install my Samsung printer i get the following - Can't install the software for the Samsung ML-2525W because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.

I've downloaded samsung drivers from apple and still no luck. Whenever i try to install my samsung ml-2525w i get the following "Can't install the software for the Samsung ML-2525W because it is not currently available from the Software Update server." The printer is on the network and is on the list of available printers.

First there is a message that software is available from Apple.  You click to get it.  Then it tells you that it is not currently available from the software update server.
I am running OS 10.8.2.  Printer is on my home network (not USB).
I went to the Apple Software Dowload site and re-downloaded the latest "HewlettPackard Printer Drivers" (v.2.12) and installed them (twice).  No dice.
Anybody found a way around this problem?
I solved all print related issues by avoiding HP, worst software I ever saw, this may not work for you though.

  • Is Firefox working on the OS BADA for the Samsung Wave II GT- S8530?

I posted this 3 months ago in your Mobile forum: Hoping for a feedback from someone at Firefox. So far nothing. Can someone respond? Is Firefox working on the OS BADA for the Samsung Wave II GT- S8530? Any guess if there is something in the works for completion? Thanks
I recently purchased a Samsung Wave II GT-S8530 mobile phone while I was in Thailand. It is a great phone and I would like to use Firefox on it. I was just asking if there was anybody working on this new OS called BADA? If so, I would really like to find out if it will be available soon? Thanks for your help and you guys have a wonderful product. I put it on everyone of my friends PC as it is soooo much better than explorer.
I really would appreciate if someone from the Tech/engineering/or anyone in the know, side of Firefox that would respond to me on this issue. BADA OS is a growing platform serving more and more mobile styles. This OS could really use a Firefox browser.
    Thank you for your time!
    Wader

Sorry, we don't have support for BADA. There are no plans to support it at this time.

I suspect you will want to ask your question at the forum for Adobe Digital Editions which is eBook, eBook reader device focused.

Just installed adobe iplayer for the umpteeth time.
Then decided to have a software update immediately on my mac.
Then a small screen appeared afterwards stating maleware virus removed.
What do I do now? Was not aware that I had a virus in the first place.

That latest update is a removal tool for the Flashback trojan.
One of the ways the earlier versions of that trojan were distributed was through fake Adobe Flash downloaders.
Why are you repeatedly installing Adobe Flash Player? (not iPlayer - that's a BBC thing.)
The only place from which to get the Flash Player plug-in is directly from Adobe themselves - Never Trust a Pop Up that says you have a missing plugin!
Also be aware that the Flash Player is not a standalone player; it's a plug-in which installs in the Library and is available for all the browsers to use.
As for what you do now?
Nothing for the moment - you should be clear.
But to be on the safe side, go to the Prefences for each of your browsers and disable Java (not JavaScript - that's a whole different animal). As Java is the vector used by the most recent versions, that should ensure you don't get reinfected.

  • Adobe flash for the iPad?

Is there anyway to get adobe flash for the iPad?

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

Where is the Download Booster for the Samsung Galaxy S5?  It's advertised in your pamphlets your stores are handing out but yet the software feature appears to be hidden or worse yet stripped out of the phone altogether .  This blatant false advertising...Please advise!

It is (My Guess) something in the fine print that says "Subject to change without notice" VZW did some similar things with the S4 and customers were very unhappy with that as well.  With those features I think some we enabled later when they sent out a software update and said nothing about it.  They also added a feature which they said nothing about and that feature was enabled for everyone as default and if you used it past the trial period they started charging you for it.  Now that is very deceptive so I really think VZW is very deceptive to its customers and they won't even keep a straight face about it.  They just keep that pretty little smile and we just turn away and walk.  Good luck with your endeavor though.

  • Cannot opening PDF created with Adobe Acrobat 5 on Samsung Android device

Hi I have an number of links to PDFs on my WordPress.com blog home page (www.creationtonewcreation.com). These were created in Adobe Acrobat 5, with security applied that allows viewing and printing. They open fine on my laptop (e.g. with Google Chrome), but when trying to open on my Android mobile (Samsung Note 3 - a standard design) with Acrobat Reader installed, an error message appears 'The document cannot be opened because it is not a valid PDF document'. It is a valid PDF as it was created with Adobe 5 itself. Do you know what the problem might be?  I have uploaded another PDF (not sure what this was created with) on my other WordPress.com site, and it downloads fine, so WordPress.com is not the problem per se.  Many thanks for any advice anyone can give.  Rob

    Hi Robert,
I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused & will try my best to get this issue resolved.
I will recommend you to upgrade your Adobe reader to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on your Samsung Note 3 mobile phone and then try to view the pdf files. You can download it for free from the Google app. store or you can refer to this link Acrobat Reader DC Learn & Support.
Let me know if you still experience the same issue.
    Regards,
    Aadesh

  • Adobe Reader for iOS and Android & Rights Management

This week's release of Reader for iOS and Android devices incorporates support for accessing files secured by Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management.
As you are probably familiar, LiveCycle Rights Management protects sensitive documents by encrypting them with industry-standard AES encryption and enabling central management of their access permissions. Protections persist even when documents are accidentally distributed via email, the cloud, or saved on a lost mobile device.
Many of the core capabilities that you are used to on the desktop versions of Acrobat and Reader are now supported when you are on the go on your tablet or mobile phone. We intend to incorporate additional functionality in future releases of these mobile devices and look forward to your feedback.
We've had several questions thus far about how this works. More information about the product, as well as a link to an FAQ can be found at:http://blogs.adobe.com/security/2011/10/just-released-adobe-reader-10- 1-for-ios-and-android.html

    Hello Jonathan,
is there an way to trigger iOS download to immediately open using "Adobe Reader"
instead of using the default Previewer (showing an plain empty white window) and then re-open it using "Open with" ?
Is there an MIME-Type to indicate IRM-protected PDF-files?
    Thanks,

  • Should an update be automatically expected for the Samsung Fascinate?

Just like many of you I purchased a Fascinate with the promise of some Froyo love in just a few short weeks. This was in September. Now my question is, should we automatically assume we would be recieving an update whether we were promised it or not? I mean would you purchase a phone that had no intention of updating? I pose the question because of the comments stating we purchased the phone knowing it had 2.1 and bought it anyway. Isnt android entitled an update as long as the hardware is up to par?

    Gonzo313 wrote:
Never said I deserved an update. Android being somewhat in its infancy the lines arent clearly drawn. If updates arent available to a high end android devices doesnt that make it a disadvantage when compared to an iphone?
Not in my opinion.  I see the iPhone as a music player that also makes phone calls and, without widget support or multi-tasking that will never change.  iOS gets updated about once a year.  Right now, android is getting updated about every six months.  Given that, you could miss every other update and still be on track.  AFAIK, there is nothing the iPhone 4 can do that the Fascinate can't, other than having a FFC, and that is a hardware issue.  You also have to remember that there are (at least) three different parties involved in every update to an Android phone.  1.  Google has to release the source code for the newest version to AOSP.  2.  The manufacturer tailors that code to work for the specific phone, as well as integrating their own UI (i.e. TouchWiz).  3.  The carrier has to test and approve the update, that it works to their standard, as well as adding any sort of carrier apps that they feel should be (or get paid to) put on the phone.  The update then goes back and forth between the manufacturer and the carrier until both parties are satisfied.  With iOS, uncle Stevie decides when the update is ready and tells everybody that it is time to update their phones, so plug into the mothership and take it.  Hard to say, really, which it truly "better", I guess it just depends on what you really need out of your phone.  One of the biggest complaints that a lot of users have about the Fascinate not getting Froyo is because they can't use Flash until then.  The iPhone, however will never have Flash because Apple and Adobe are in a tiff about who stole who's idea and uncle Stevie thinks that you don't really need it anyway, because everybody is moving to HTML 5.  Unfortunately, Flash probably isn't going anywhere anytime soon and, some sites are useless without it.  I've probably gone way off topic and gone on way too long, but that's the way I see it, hope it translated properly.

  • Hot Spot for the Samsung Fascinate Galaxy S

I need to know if making my Samsung a hot-spot will be good,  or will I have trouble with it??

    Hello Larryde,
I apologize for the delayed response.  Mobile Hotspot is an excellent feature, I use it daily!  There have been no issues reported with the capabilities of the Fascinate Hotspot.  For $20 a month you would have a 2GB monthly allowance.  You will be able to connect up to 5 devices at a time via Wi-Fi.  You will be running at the same 3G speeds you experience on your phone. You can manage your usage by checking My Verizon, dialing #DATA or using the My Verizon Android app.  Here is a link to some additional FAQ on the Mobile Hotspot.  Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
