Adobe floating licenses

Hi,
I would like to use the Annotation features (like Add Sticky Note, Add comments, etc.,) when the pdf is loaded in IE browser (with Adobe Reader only and not using Professional).
1. Are there any readily available plug-ins in an SDK or do I need to write the plug-in to achieve the Online Annotation features in my application?
2. If I want to install the Acrobat Professional on the server and install Reader on the client PCs, how can I use the annotation features provided by the Professional? Do I need to buy server license or floating licenses?
Please provide me the information as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Rajeev

  • Adobe License Manager - Floating Licenses

    Hi,
i am trying to grab the whole Adobe License Manager thing, and is this similar or can it be similar to a "floating License" where we have 50 licenses and the software is installed on 100 PCs but it is only used by at the most 20 users at a time?
OR is this we get 50 licenses, install it in 50 PCs and then when we install it on the 51st pc, we get notified that we are over our license pool and have to order a new one...
    Thanks for the help!

  • Framemaker and floating license ?

    Hi,
In my company , we want to move to another strategy than we have now.
At the moment , we have 10-15 users who use from time to time framemakers, never at the same moment.
We dedicated 4 computers in one room  for these users, so we use 4 licenses.
We would like now that all the users use framemaker from their computer, and a perfect solution would be a floating license.
Navigating on the site, I could not find a way to buy a floating license.
Are we forced to buy 15 licences  ?
    Thanks for answer!

AFAIK, the floating licenses have only been available for the unix platforms.
You might want to contact Adobe's evangelist for tech comm products, RJ Jacquez on this. He should definitely know. The easiset & fastest way to reach him is via Twitter. See: http://twitter.com/rjacquez

  • I'd like to see a floating license option for XML Author.

I am an experienced structured FM user. I am trying to set up a structured authoring environment for a small engineering firm. I write and edit documentation for aviation engineering projects. I work with six to eight engineers and designers who contribute content to our technical publications.
I want to minimize authoring overhead by eliminating manual formatting from my contributor workflow. Ideally, I would manage EDDs, DTDs, templates etc. and deploy several XML author licenses to collect content. However, the cost of an XML author license per each potential contributor is prohibitive for my small firm. I would love to be able to deploy XML Author through Creative Cloud either as a single-app license or as part of a team license.
Several other authoring platforms including Flare (no structured support, I know) offer a floating license option. I think a floating license option would make the Structured Frame/XML Author combo more competitive for Adobe and more attractive to small firms like mine.

Tell someone who make iphone apps.

  • Can I use an Adobe Professional license from 2008 with the current version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

Can I use an Adobe Professional license from 2008 with the current version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

With "license" you mean serial number?  If that serial number was for a different Acrobat version (e.g. 9), you cannot use it for the current version XI.
You can however use it to purchase an upgrade from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html

  • Concerns Regarding Adobe LifeCycle Licensing

There is starting to be a growing buzz over at Javaranch.com about FLEX and Lifecycle in particular. It would be nice if someone for Adobe could post a few responses at Javaranch.com regarding the LifeCycle Product:
    Developers Responses:
D1: "RemoteObjects are part of Flex and therefore free to use. Flex Data Management Services were a part of Flex Data Services in Flex 2 and have long since been rebranded and packaged in Lifecycle ES which is licencable product. Last time I heard a price it was listed at $30,000."
D2: "Let's hope that price is going to come down in the near future. As a back-end Oracle Database Developer, this is going to be the bread and butter for me (FYI - Google the Cairngorm Architecture.) The LiveCycle Product is a much perferred option than build the web services in JDeveloper manually."
D3: "I went through the same motions and abandoned LifeCycle because of the ridiculous pricing compared to free, simpler solutions."
D2:"Okay, since there is interest in the Adobe LifeCycle, I think I am going to try and knock on doors (virtually) at Adobe get some help in this area for this product--license wise. Hopeful I can get a hold of James Ward, the Adobe Evangelist and have him to briefly post some words on this. Because I am with an educational institution, we have some grace with licensing for development, but never inquired about the LifeCycle license. Adobe have been pushing the BlazeDS, the open source option. I haven't used it yet, but if you search for BlazeDS at Adobe, you will find and pre-configured Tomcat download bundled with BlazeDS. This should provided a MVC ready environment for FLEX development accessing a database back-end."
D3: "Great for you, but those in the software development world have no options other than to abandon LiveCycle. It's unfortunate given the obvious value in these tools."
D2: "Of course you right, but the first step in getting Adobe to change this matter is to ask, or more so let them know that there is a growing interest with the product. If a number of Flex developers positively express (in writing, emails, blogs, post, etc) interest directly to Adobe, with the complaint the Lifecycle product has locked a lot of the developer community out from using the product, then I think they will happily change the licensing practice for this product over time. For Adobe is all about dollars and sense (as in what makes sense in business). If they can get more developers to positively endorse (FOR FREE) there products--they will start giving away things for free to get them to continue. So stay positive! Things will change."
There is a growing interest in the Lifecycle product, but most developers are hitting the wall when trying to utilize the product for self training, and education of the product.  Adobe Representatives please chime in and help the developer community regarding the licensing issue.  Also, please post as well to Javaranch.com under the FLEX forum branch.

Well, doesn't sound like a problem from what you've said, provided you're abiding by Adobe's licensing agreement for Reader:

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums,
If the resolution of you computer is small, then please increase the resolution size and then you will see the "Accept" button
On Windows XP : Right Click on Desktop -> Properties -> Setting -> Increase the Screen Resolution
On Windows 7 & Vista : Right Click on Desktop -> Screen Resolution
    Hope this helps
    Thanks,
    Vikram

  • Why does Acrobat XI installed via CC ask me for Adobe Software License Agreement?

When I try to open a pdf with Acrobat XI Pro installed via Creative Cloud, after few second it starts Adobe Application Manager, it opens a completely blank window titled Adobe Software License Agreement asking to Accept. It's pointless to clic the Accept button: it doesn't do anything and Acrobat is unusable.

  • I have a valid copy of Premiere Elements 11 that does not open past the Elements 11 Organizer Adobe Software License Agreement

My copy of Premiere Elements 11 will not open. I'm on a PC with System 7. When I double-click on the PE11 desktop icon, the window opens that says Elements 11 Organizer Adobe Software License Agreement. I select English (North America) and "Accept". The window disappears but then reappears again and again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the disk and from the download. I have also tried a clean boot and have restarted numerous times. It accepts my Serial Number OK, but I can't seem to get beyond this step. Any help would be appreciated.

Consider uninstall, free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts), reinstall with antivirus and firewalls disabled.
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
Significantly different from what you did already?
Have you looked at the antivirus interference in this?
Even after the uninstall/reinstall, you might explore deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file, and, if that does not work, then
the whole 11 Folder in which it exists.
    Local Disc C

and, in the 11.0 Folder, is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole 11.0
Folder in which it exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see
    the complete path cited.
I have not seen that Organizer Adobe Software Licensing Agreement issue before and it does not quite fit in with the usual troubleshooting

  • Use Adobe Education License to write a book

May I use the Adobe Educational License to write a book about the software itself? ie. a book How to Use Adobe Flash Effectively in Classroom etc.
    Thanks.

Yes, you can the Adobe Educational License to write a book about the software itself anyway and don't see any issues with that. So, you can go ahead and write a book.....
    It's a go go go!!!!!

  • Will agreeing to a CS6 Master Collection "Adobe Software License Agreement" initiate the trial?

I downloaded a CS6 Master Collection trial but I'd like to try the applications individually instead.
I am attempting to open a .pdf and Acrobat X is asking me to accept an Adobe Software License Agreement.  But the window for this agreement says "CS6 Master Collection" in the upper left corner.
Will accepting this Acrobat/Master Collection agreement initiate a CS6 Master Collection trial?

The simplest solution would be to Install the free Adobe Reader to view the PDFs.
Acrobat is included in the Master Collection, and is now the default PDF viewing application. Starting Acrobat, I believe, will start off the trial countdown.
But to be fully functional, if you don't need the entire trial right now, you can go ahead and uninstall it.
And to buy extra time, install individual trials of products as you need them. Just remember that you can try out a product only once on a machine.
