Adobe form doubts

Hi,
I'm displaying a table in my form. I want to remove the table borders. I've checked none option for the object layout properties.
But still the borders are displayed. Am i missing something ? ive want the table (row,column) borders as invisible.
And also the form generated in the spool is protected not able to print it ?
Do we have any attribute to be set in the output parameter in order to overcome this issue?

HI friend,
Just now tried your scenario.
Its simple you need to do the changes by selecting each and every field. Select each field and do the same. Also select the option edit individually.
Also one more thing which we need to notice is we need to enter the program in change mode. If you go into the form in display mode and then switch to Change mode, Some times our code will have effect sometimes it may not.

We do allow Adobe Forms questions in this forum only if the question pertains to their usage within Web Dynpro ABAP. I don't see anything in your question that fits that description. You seem to have general forms questions and ones that pertain to the usage by print driver programs. I would suggest that your question is really better suited to the Adobe Forms Forum or the ABAP Print Forms Forum.

Adobe Forms Doubts

I am trying to learn about the adobe forms, I have installed adobe life cycle designer 8.0 and trying to go some of the examples, i didnt see the body pages in here but most of the examples online talk about the body pages . I could see master pages though, so does it mean master pages is body page???

Thanks all for the reply. Here are my observations that i have found out while experimenting with adobe forms.
In Live cycle designer 8.0 certain things have been changed. Here are the view available in 8.0
Design View -
> this used to be body pages in earlier version.
Master pages
XML source
Preview Pdf
and yes Master page is not the body Page.
So to create an body page implicitly in Hierarchy we just need to create a subform under Master Pages node, this will be the body page1, and we can create subforms under this page node.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Doubt regarding Adobe forms used for PCR

Hey all,
I have a doubt regarding Adobe forms used for PCR.If i goto tc
SFP->form name (ISR_FORM_SPPM)->Layout->XML SOURCE-->
<base><server name><port>/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/</base>
But in tc SICF,i do not have anything beyond FP.It goes like this : sicf-> default_host->sap->bc->fp .
Could this be the possible cause of error why i am not able to view the forms in PDF format?
Can anyone , who has doen this before, please help me out with this issue?

Are you getting an error when you are trying to access the PDF form ?
Is ADS installed and configured properly ? Also let me know the operating system you are using, it's version, J2EE and Portal version.

Yes you can do.
U can do either in Interface -- Initilization part or if u r using webdynpro abap for interactive form, u can do validation in method i.e once the user enters the data and hit the button present in the screen, u can do validation in the method which u call for button i.e method which get triggered once the button is clicked.

 i supposed to work on adobe forms. I dont have any alternatives, other than self learning. Provide me if you have some adobe form scenario's and examples. Please try to answer few questions.:
1) Is it learning adobe forms alone enough or need to have knowledge in webdynpro also.?
2) i have extensively worked on smartforms, is that helps me in adobe forms?
3) i want to know scenario's in adobe forms...?

Since u worked on smartforms , it is good b'coz adobe forms is advanced version of smartforms with internet support features.adobe forms looks like Visual Basic features with drag & drop

AT new in adobe form

Is there anything like AT NEW command in adobe form. I have 1 table in a subform and wanted that subform to be repeated for every new value in that row.

I am confused with your Query.
You have a table in the subform, for every record in the table the row repeats and thus expands automatically.
But why do you need the subform itself to be repeated...? its not possible.
Its used only in case of nested tables where the root table is binded to the subform and the table with in this subform is binded to the nested table in data source.
Example for such is consider a employee records table with long text field. here long text itself comes in another table. in such cases it possible.

Problem with data in Adobe Forms - partially displayed(first pade only)

I only start work with Adobe Forms so I need your help .
My form includes   table with lot of data .
My problems are:
1.only the first page with data is displayed and I don't see the rest of data .
       What I need to define for get all my data printed ?
2. How can I print total at end of table ?

select the subform where your table body present , there you choose the pallete object inside you need to set.

Print Preview not working for Adobe forms

Hello experts,
I am new to designing of Adobe forms. I have the following installations already in place:
1. ADS
2. Designer 7.0
3. Adobe Reader 8.0
I am trying to execute the standard report FP_EXAMPLE_01 to test whether Adobe forms work coherently with my system config is fine.
When trying to execute thsi report prg , I get a very perculiar message on clicking on print preview bttn "ADS: Request start time: Tue Feb 05 12:25:05 IST 2008(200.101) "
Now I am not sure whether it is a Basis issue with the ADS config or Printer settings ?
Please advise.

That is not required functionality. it should display a Adobe Form for Invoice processing.
I doubt there might be some problem with ADS configuration.
Can you please do the following test and let me know the result ?
If the Adobe Interactive Forms have been installed correctly, the
following tests should run without errors:
First test:
1) Call transaction SE38.
2) Enter the report name "FP_PDF_TEST_00" and choose "Execute" (or press F8).
3) Enter "ADS" in the entry field for the connection, and choose
"Execute" (or press F8).
4) The system should issue a dialog box containing the current version
information.
Second test:
1) Call transaction SE38.
2) Enter the report name "FP_TEST_00" and choose "Execute" (or press
F8).
3) Enter "FP_TEST_00" for the form, "2" for the number of output pages,
and "ADS" for the ADS connection. The choose "Execute".
4) Enter a valid output device and choose "Print Preview".
5) The Adobe Reader should be displayed in the GUI, and display two
pages with numbered lines.
Third test:
1) Call transaction SE38.
2) Enter the report name "FP_TEST_IA_01" and choose "Execute" (or press
F8).
3) Enter "FP_TEST_IA_01" for the form, "ADS" for the ADS connection, and
any data in the other entry fields (these are already filled with
default values). Then choose "Execute" (or press F8).
4) Enter a valid output device and choose "Print Preview".
5) The Adobe Reader should be displayed in the GUI, and display a page
with address fields.
6) Scroll down to the frame for the new address, and fill in those
fields.
At the end of the form, an entry field for the date and a value help
exists. Choose the input help button and check if the system displays
the datepicker.
Now you will know yourself if there is any problem with ADS configuration.

BPM Process with offline adobe forms - NW CE 7.2 SP3

Hi experts, I have to develop the following scenario and I still don´t know the correct way that I should follow, I have already created the Process Development DC, the XSD and the XDP files, I have also put the XSD and XDP files into portal drive.
Scenario:
1 - This scenario should be started by a webservice that will be created too, this webservice have to receive data that will be used in the whole process.
2 - Call some RFCs on ECC to retrieve data to prefill the off-line adobe form and the e-mail of the external destinations.
3 - Send adobe form for e-mail to some external destinations.
4 - Receive and read adobe form by a dedicated e-mail.
5 - Send each adobe form by e-mail to an internal user that could approve or reject the document.
6 - Call some RFC to approved documents.
7 - Send e-mail back to the receivers to notify about the document if it was approved or rejected.

The problem is that I am trying to model but a lot of doubts about are breaking me, I need some process sample to follow.
Know I am creating a process model, I have read about the Process Modeling Approaches but still don´t know wich I should use to my model:
Top-Down Approach
Bottom-Up Approach
Inside-Out Approach
Taking into account that this process starts on ECC and my process will get data from ECC, prefill and send off line adobe forms by e-mail to get external data to send on ECC after it, with approach I should choice ?
Does anybody have any process model sample to send me ? It will help me a lot.

we are developing adobe forms for getting out put in PDF formate .
but we have same features in smartforms also like we can give the output in pdf to the client .
recently i faced this problem in pre sale actitvity .
Client manage asked me so many questions in adobe forms
questions are
1. What is use of adobe forms
2. we are can get the out put in pdf formate through smartforms . then why you are suggesting buy pdf licenced software .
3.what is extra functionality you are providing to end user
please can one give clear usege and advatages avalable in adobe

Use of Adobe form:
As of SAP NetWeaver u201904 (in SAP Web Application Server), you can use a new solution to create interactive forms and print forms for the optimization of your form-based business processes. This solution uses Portable Document Format (PDF) and software from Adobe Systems Inc. that has been integrated into the SAP environment.
You can create interactive forms in PDF format that allow users to fill out the form on the screen and save their entries in XML format in the form. When the SAP system receives the PDF form, it extracts the data saved in the form, and can process it further.
Smart form Vs Adobe form
Smart forms / scripts are used to show the data in SAP. Most likely you will use these to print / display some kind of reciepts / forms.
but, Adobe forms are used to post data into SAP from SAP too.

Adobe Forms On Portal

Hi Experts,
My requirement is i need to create the interactive adobe form and this adobe form is finally accessed through portal and there are some approval process involved in this scenario. Now my doubt is do i need to create the adobe form through webdynpro stack or can i create the form and interface directly in transaction "SFP". If i create the form using SAP GUI is it possible to access such forms through portal. I need your suggestions and comments on this.
Finally my doubt is can we access the interactive adobe forms which are developed in transaction "SFP" through portal, and my print program also exists in the ABAP editor which has logic to fetch and display the data into adobe forms.
or do we need web dynpro application to access the interactive adobe form through portal.

Thanks for the info, actual my requirment is when ever user login into portal he will find list of purchase orders then in the object work list(OWL). He will choose one record and click edit button then the adobe form corresponding to that purchase order should open in edit mode, now here my question is how can my print program in SAP GUI know that the user has choosen particular purchase order, i will fetch the data based on my selection criteria and i can display data according to that, but how can i display the data in edit mode when the user has choosen some record from OWL.
For example : if user selects purchase order 123 from object work list then the same purchase order 123 header and item details should open in the adobe form in edit mode. If my application is developed in SAP GUI side then how can my application program fetch the data related to pirchase order 123 in portal. When i write an ABAP program i will write the logic to fetch and display the data according to my selection criteria, i am unware of what is happening at protal side how can one map my selection criteria details to the record selected in object work list, is this possible , if not what is the alternative way. kindly suggest
For such type of requirement, what exactly need to be done either web dynpro interactive form or SAP GUI interactive form.
Or both scenario's also possible. Kindly suggest.

How to get the control back to Report Program after the 'SUBMIT' Button is clicked in interactive Adobe Form.

Hi Shivani,
There are many ways by which you can post data back to R/3 from an adobe form. It depends on the scenario which you want to use.
1) If it is an online form, the form has to be incorporated with in a webdynpro component and you can use webdynpro native submit button to post data back to R/3
2) If it is offline form and is generated out of a driver program in ABAP, you can use the following methods:
GUI Upload
Mail attachment to SAP Inbox
Using Web Services
Upload form to portal

Condition verification in java script on Adobe form.

I am using a interactive forma text element on my view. (java web dynpro)
It's a simple application. I am trying to figure out how it works with java script.
I have a text field. which displays employ is sales or production dept
the values in the data view and its the output element of a BAPI which returns XF,TF,HF and XK,JK,HK
(record.dept)
if its XF, TF, HF on the text field in the adobe form should print sales else production.
I have never used java script on adobe form.
I figured the strip above the form in adobe designer is used for java script.
can any one, let me know how I can manipulate. the record value

xfa.host.messageBox should show you an alert dialog box to check data you are getting.
And yes you are right. You can set the value of textfield using code you mentioned.

You can even set the texfields to be readOnly, hide some of them etc. But for that I would suggest you going thru the LiveDesigner help. It would solve most of your doubts :-).

Please let me know the difference between the adobe form attributes pdfsource and datasource, when used in Web Dynpro ABAP. What is the significance of specifying both and the difference between them.

Hi,
Pdfsource is a attribute defined to read the form. Suppose in an Application you need to read values from fields on the pdf form. In that case you give an attribute as a pdfsource which will contain all the data in XML format. You can read these values and assign to different data node. normally its helpful in reading offline forms.
Datasource is a node containing one or many attributes which stores data at runtime. The fields on the interactive forms are bound to these attributes. When you give a context node as data source to the interactive form then it appears in the designer on the left handside in the data view. From there you can bind the fields on the form to the attributes in the context node.
The difference between both is that a pdfsource is used to read the complete form in XML format with all the fields on it while the data source is used to transfer data from context to the fields on the form. Note that the datasource contains a node with multiple or single attribute and a field on the form can be bound to a single attribute.
