ADOBE form interactive and non-interactive... (HR)

Hi,
I'm trying to get in touch with SAP web applications (webdynpro, adobe form, bsp...).
I have the following requirement:
I have to provide a page within the sap enterprise portal to allow the employee to track his presence. In this page the employee has to check a presence/absence flag and in another page he can justify his absence with some reason.
I didn't find a standard functionality to meet this requirement, so I think a new form has to be created.
As additional requirement this form as to be stored as PDF document and it is not needed to store the information contained in the form in the sap backend system. The information contained in the form has to be stored in a non-sap system, so this information should be available as flat file to be imported in the non-sap system.
I'd like to understand the possible scenarios from a technical point of view to create the required functionalities.
ADOBE Interactive Form.
This is a webdynpro (java or abap) that contains the adobe component. The fields of the adobe component are linked to the sap backend system and are editable. The adobe component reads some data from sap bakend system and stores the values filled by the employee via the adobe component in the backend system.
ADOBE non-interactive Form
A webdynpro (java or abap) or a BSP has to be built to create some values, then once the user save/submit the information a PDF document is created with the information created in the previous page.
What is the difference between ADOBE (non-interactive) Form and ADOBE Interactive Form? The difference is that the first one is not editable? There is a big difference in terms of complexity develop an interactive or a non-interactive adobe form?
BSP that generates the PDF as output?
Could you please provide some input/defintion/sample to clarify this topic?

I just found that Amazon web services does have a network issue with one of their instances that is affecting some regions around the east coast, this could be affecting your ability to sign into FormsCentral. They will likely have that back up soon and assuming that could be the issue it should be fixed shortly.

We are extremely sorry that you have had a bad experience with Adobe .
As far as your issue is concerned ,Acrobat generally prompts for internet connection as it is required to activate the product before you could use it comfortably .Once the product is activated or licensed you would be able to use the software offline .
This could be the possible reason you are experiencing this .Please check if you have done so and still facing this .And if you have not ,you need to license/activate your product by typing in your credentials ,i.e Adobe ID and password .

I just solved this problem on my computer.
Windows 7 comes with only one "Voice" installed. "Microsoft Anna - English (United States)" I'm not sure what you get if your in another country.
You can test your "Voice/Voices" by running Microsoft Narrator. Click [Start] button and type "Narrator" in the [search programs and files] box. Press [Enter]. Your computer should begin talking. Click [Voice Settings] button to see a list of installed voices. Take note of the voices listed. "Mine has just the one."
Adobe Reader must have a voice selected that you have installed. To verify your settings Run Adobe Reader. From the top menu click [Edit] then click [Preferences] at the bottom of the list. In the Preferences window click [Reading] from the left hand list. Find "Read Out Loud Options" Un-check [Use default voice] Choose a voice from the drop down menu that you have verified is installed on your computer. Click [OK]
My Adobe Reader had 4 voices listed to choose from. I found this curious because I only have one voice.

Contradiction form error in non interactive adobe forms.

HI All,
I am woriking on a non interactive adobe forms generation program in ABAP.
The program uses a variant and generate pdf forms for all the list items on the varient.
Note: I am not using Webdynpro its the normal pdf generation.
The problem I am facing is that when the varient has a list of more records at some point of time it generates the contradiction form error and terminates. if I alter the varient so that the list is minimal then there is no problem with that.
I know that the Contradiction form error occurs when the pdf generation is open and there is another request to open a new form before closing the previous call. but when the varient has minimal data there is no problem with that, my assumption here is the data volume or such which causes the problem.
Does somebody came accross such an issue earlier or if you have a solution approach please do share it with me.

Adobe Forms: date and number display format

Hello all,
I am new to Adobe Form, and I am quite unimpressed with how difficult it is to do the most simple things.
I have managed one way or another to solve all my problems until now, but this one got me stuck.
I have date and number fields in my form, and here is what I want to do but cannot (beware, it is impressive): I need these fields to be displayed using the defaults date and number settings of the SAP user who is generating the form.
Anyone has an idea of how that can be achieved?

Hi Thomas,
For these kind of issues you will get many answers if you search the forum.
If your requirement is to display the current date in the form, just drag and drop the "Current date" UI element from the Library palette -> Custom.
If it is to get the date from SAP and display, pass date to the context node and just drag and drop the field into the form from the data view.
Check the following wiki by Chintan. It explains some common scenarios in javascript.

Adobe forms - Email and fax

Does anyone have any idea about how a adobe form(tcode-SFP) can be sent through email and fax?
I have created an interest form and have to send it accross to the customer maintained in the customer master when i run transaction code FINT.

As we cannot change RECIPIENT TYPE in this case in the object.
I used this format in the program but the attachment is going to EXpress inbox. and goes to my SAP Inbox instead of Email .
So what changes we need to do for this.
Alternatively, can we use FM 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1' for this purpose?

How to make an interactive report, non-interactive

Hi,
I have an interactive report. I have disabled every interactive control from the report by setting "include search bar" to NO and also at column level i didnt allow to sort or group or any other thing. Only problem is that when i click the column heading, i see a text box poping up and asks to enter some value so that it could filter the report and if i provide any value and pres enter, it returns message "ERR-1777: Page 1 provided no page to branch to. Please report this error to your application administrator."
How can i disable this text box from appearing and making report fully non interactive. I don't want to rebuild the page as not interactive report and want to disable this popup from my current interactive report.

Hi Salman,
You can "disable" the column links by hiding them.
The simplest method would be to change the column heading to something like:
</div>>div<EnameThe link is created on a DIV tag that contains no text. The above will close this DIV and open a new one for the heading. As there's no text in the first DIV, the user can't see it nor click on it.

Batch sequence to 'flatten' xfa form to static non-interactive AcroForm

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to flatten a bunch of xfa forms in a batch sequence. The result being the exact same as printing to pdf.
I believe I use to just add optimizer settings in the sequence editor and that would do the trick. But now I'm getting an error saying optimization settings cannot be applied to an xfa form.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Actually George I found a solution. They are dynamic xfa forms. I realized that the pdf printer settings has an option to suppress the save as dialog and default the output flat pdfs to a location of my choosing. I just set the pdf printer as my default printer and run a batch sequence to print the dynamic pdfs.
It requires a decent system with lots of memory since an instance of Acrobat is opened for every pdf processed but it does the trick!

Printed Adobe Form - pagination and data content problem

I have been making changes to HR Appraisal Forms and all goes well except when I want to paginate a section.
The text is in a value string.
I define a flowed subform with direction Top to Bottom. binding None
Subform Pagination Place > Following Previous    After > Continue Filling Parent If Dataset Paginated > Goto content area (there is only one content arrea defined in this form
Allow Page breaks within content.
I have a table object within the Subform. Place > Following Previous    After > Continue Filling Parent If Dataset
The table has a Header row Place > Top of Next Page (this works fine) checked Include Header Row Initial Page and Subsequent Page
the Table row (body) Pagination Place > Following Previous    After > Continue Filling Parent If Dataset
When I test with more data than fits on page I get overflow and pagination with the Header on both pages.
The bad the data that overflows to the new page is the same from the start of the first page, it repeats. aso the second page has the content the length of what the overflow data would have been.
How do I get the data NOT to repeat from the beginning on the second page?   This should have been easy but I have tried almost everything to correct the problem EXCEPT define all the objects as subforms and use Acessibility to make them work as table or row. Please remember that I am NOT trying to make an interactive form and just want printed overflow.

It allows the save as from a process point of view there speaks nothing against having long notes. And in the smartform print and in any other online UI in PM (R/3, BSP, WD) the notes are displayed correctly.
The PDF is just another UI component, and the only one with the issue. To be honest, I think the SAP note is a rubbish answer, and an easy way out. Yes, in general it is better to have short notes on element level and longer pieces of text in an attachment.
But logically speaking, the PDF thing is just plainly a bug.
But we can talk short or long about it, in the end SAP is the one with the final answer

Adobe Forms F140_OPI_LIST_01 and F140_ACC_STAT_01

Hi,
in this case i have two questions.
1. I have the problem, that i don't know, how can i put both forms together in the customizing. If i used SAPScript the form F140_ACC_STAT_01 was the Open Item List and the Accounting State. But now with the new technologie Adobe this are two seperated forms.
Both forms are using the print programm RFKORD10_PDF, but i can only assign one form to the print programm in the customizing. If i want to do the same with the open item list, it isn't possible, because i have a same entry (for the accounting state) in the customizing.
2. I put in the customizing the entry for the balance confirmation. Print programm is SAPF130D_PDF and the form called F130_CONFIRM_01. But i only get as the print preview the SAPScript form. Have i to make same more settings to run the print with the pdf forms.

It is said that for Communication User type logon with SAPGUI is not possible. But whether the system checks for Expired or initial passwords depends upon the logon method(Interactive or Non interactive)

See SAP Note 622464:
Users of type COMMUNICATION are subject of password expiration control but not able to use SAPGUI. Well, in such a case it cannot be guaranteed that a password change dialog is performed.

Saving Interactive form as non Interactive

true->interactive
false->non-interactive
bind this property to a context attribute of type....boolean.
whenever you want to make the interactive form... non-interactive.... just set the bound context attribute to "false".
