Adobe Forum...more weirdness

I start computer.
Open an Adobe Forum link.
Not logged in - despite stay logged in!
Use Sign in Link
It automatically logs and signs me in  without any entry input on my part.
Weird!
Behaviour started since creating a new Password.

Adobe's looking into it. Behind the scenes we've been trying to establish which configurations are working and why some people can stay logged in while others cannot. So far, the conclusion is "hmm... dunnno". I'm on Firefox and can't stay logged in at all, but someone else with the same setup hasn't been logged out at all.
Choosing 'remember me' on the single-sign-on (SSO) page will set cookies for the main adobe.com domain, and those appear to be persisting OK for everyone. It's the equivalent cookies to preserve your Jive session on forums.adobe.com that are problematic; that's why when you click to "Sign In" the SSO page autocompletes without your input.

  • How to stop receiving e-mails from the Adobe Forums?

After the recent upgrade to the Adobe Forums you may notice that you are receiving additional e-mail messages from the Adobe Forums.
To turn off e-mail notifications please complete the following steps:
    Go to https://forums.adobe.com/welcome
Click on your Avatar and choose the Preference option
Alternately you can click on https://forums.adobe.com/user-preferences!input.jspa to access your Preferences.
Under the General Preferences you can adjust your e-mail preferences.  You can choose which type of notifications you wish to receive e-mail notifications for.  I would recommend disabling the e-mail regarding Moderation Notifications
Once your selection has been made then click the Save button to apply the settings change.

What does “I cannot export or copy and paste or drag the mail over” mean?
Mail stores most preferences and all account settings in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist (except the passwords, which are stored in the keychain). Everything else, including all your messages and mailboxes, is stored within the ~/Library/Mail/ folder.
Similarly, Address Book stores the settings in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist and the data in ~/Library/Application Support/AddresBook/.
Other applications store preferences and data in other places. You may want to ask in the appropriate forums for more information on those.
If both computers are running the same major version of Mac OS X, copying these files & folders from one computer to the other is all you need to do in order to have an exact copy of all your data on both computers.
In order to avoid potential permission issues, copy the files operating on the destination computer and while logged in as the user that’s going to use them. Also, be sure the affected applications aren’t running on either computer while doing that.
Alternatively, you may use Migration Assistant, as Michael suggested:
Transferring data with Setup Assistant / Migration Assistant FAQ
And you may want to read the following articles as well:
Transferring files between two Macintosh computers
How to back up and restore your important Mac OS X 10.4 files
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • Is the Adobe forum merging with Behance?

I have been using the forum for a while and it was very intuitive and well laid out... Why did you change it so much and add so many features to make it more like a social community? I thought behance was the social community?
I don't like the forum update... its hard to find the content I wrote a while back and it is not nearly as intuitive as it once was...
But if you are going to merge behance and the forum together then just do it please.... I don't want to upload all my content twice... Stop doubling our data...

Hello - I can't speak to the forum redesign, but Behance is the leading platform to showcase and discover creative work. This is not getting merged in any way with the Adobe Forums.
Let me know if you have further questions!

  • Celebration of Adobe forums

Have you been as amazed and delighted as I have been by the extraordinary help and support available, in the name of enthusiasm, good will and mutual support, from the exellent people on these remarkable Adobe forums? I wish the business world I work in was as sweet as an Adobe forum.
    GK

I also appreciate all the superb help I have received here. This is a wonderful resource for us to share tech support issues and solutions, commiserate with others with the same problems, and in general meet others who are working in our field. I'm one of only two people in my department during my shift, and it really helps to have outside contact with which to sound off my ideas and questions. And very often I get a reply much more quickly here than I do at other sites, even on non-Adobe product-related technical problems.
I also want to note that I am a member of other (non-Adobe) forums that have all the extra bells and whistles like avatars, "number of views", etc. and it really makes me appreciate more the clean, simplified interface we have here. Maybe it's because I came here first, but I think it's much easier to navigate through this format than with the fancied-up kind. Thanks Adobe! :-D

  • Adobe Forums - it's going to look a little different next week

Just in case you did not see the notice on the main Adobe Forums page (e.g. you subscribe via e-mail), I just wanted to be sure no one is surprised when the forum starts looking a little different next week.
The overall "look" will be changed on Monday, the 7th (possibly pushed on the evening of the 6th). We will still be on Jive, and no functionality is changing; we're just updating to something that actually looks like it came from this century.
If you have any questions about this between now and then, let me know by replying here or sending me a PM.
If you have any issues, questions, or feedback after it is live, be sure to post it in Forum Comments: http://forums.adobe.com/community/general/forum_comments

Firstly, I too think, that Firefox displays the page in a better way. Tahoma is amongst my favourite fonts.
ConnorBehan wrote:Why is the (5656 viewing) part only in the Firefox screenshot?
Easy explanation. He displayed both pages shortly each after, this is why under Konqueror there is one more posting. He is using Firefox as his primary browser I guess, therefore Konqueror has him not marked as logged in. Only logged in users have the information displayed, how many users are viewing some particular subforum.

  • Adding my profile picture in account of Adobe Forum

    Hi All,
I am a newcomer in the forum. Unfortunately, I can not add the profile picture in my account of Adobe Forum.
Could any one help me please to solve the problem.
    Thanks.

Your picture is plainly visible on your forum profile.
This appears to be nothing more than another attempt to drive business to your commercial site.

  • ATTN: Adobe-Admin  Troubles with the Adobe Forums

Received an email from an Adobe Partner. See message below:
I am not sure who to contact to get help with this issue, but we are unable to reply to or post new content to the Adobe Forums. (http://forums.adobe.com).
We can enter the text for the topic, but the field to enter the body of the content is read only. We can't click in it or type in it.  This is when creating a new discussion, or responding to an existing thread.  When creating a private message, We can type in the title and content, but when we submit, it deletes all the content and says that the body can't be empty.
In each of these cases, we have tried it on multiple machines, with multiple accounts.  Both Windows/Mac, XP/Windows 7, Internet Explorer/Firefox/Chrome.  Same results in every case.  We have also ensured that browser add-ons like AdBlock are not installed.
We would appreciate some direction on how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
Please advise what's causing this. Is this an account based problem or there is a problem with the forums?
    Thanks.

That is an account / computer based problem, not a problem all users of the forums are experiencing. Those different computers / accounts wouldn't all be in the same domain behind the same proxy server or with the same virus scanner installed, would they?

  • How to join Adobe Forums?  Need to open jp2 file

I am new to this.  If I try to post a question in response to another post on Adobe Forums, I get an "unauthorized" notice.  Searching Adobe Community Help with jp2, I get several returns, but none is helpful.  I would like to post a question about opening jp2 files with CS5 Extended.
    Thanks,
    Ralph

In order to not affect other things, just open AR9 before you start IE8. You will likely get comments about AR and AA not being compatible and that is an issue you have to be careful with. Also, note that if you delete either, you will have to repair the other. They will work together, but issues like you are having will continue to be an issue.

  • Despite it is claimed in Adobe forum that Lightroom is fully compatible with OS Maverics on my MacBook Air IT IS NOT. A message "an error occurred while attempting to change modules" appears and I cannot go any further. Can anyone help?

Despite it is claimed in Adobe forum that Lightroom is fully compatible with OS Maverics on my MacBook Air IT IS NOT. A message "an error occurred while attempting to change modules" appears every time I try to open Lightroom. This happened immediately after upgrading to Mavericks. On my doughter's same machine Lightroom works perfectly. Can anyone help?

Surely the Adobe forums are the place for help with Adobe applications. The fact that the problem doesn't occur on your daughter's machine suggests that it's not an issue with Mavericks but a local problem on your own machine.

  • Reply versus Reply to original post in Adobe Forums

    Hello Everyone,
    1. What is the difference beteween "Reply" and "Reply to original post" in Adobe Forums?
    2. What will happen if we Click on the Reply option?
    3. What will happen if we Click on the Reply to original post option?

    Creative,
This is what you get if you just Reply to the original post using the Quote button (top left with the "):

Then it is possible to delete parts (and maybe insert ... to show where the deletion is)
to get a partial quote (especially relevant in connexion with key words/phrases/parts in a long (original) post),

  • Google Chrome and Adobe Forum Comment Editor

When using the Adobe Forum Comment Editor (You know, the thing you type in to post question or comments)
When you are typing in Google Chrome, the cursor will sometimes jump to another line.
This happens a LOT, and I have to use a text editor (Notepad or other) to type out my question or comment,
Then copy and past into the Forum Editor.
Does anyone know if there is a work around to resolving this irritating issue?
    Thank You
    Wayne

    You could try Firefox.  getfirefox.com

  • Anyone hear use Adobe Forums? PSE 9 question.

I needed to post a PSE 9 question and have been trying to use adobe forums for days. When I attempt to login, my browser goes into a redirect loop forever. Anyone else experienced this?
Just in case I'll ask the Question here. I have PSE 9. Seems that the redo last filter with dialog box no longer functions (option-cmd-f). Did it go away? Now it brings up a Feather dialog.
    Bummer.

I hope you receive some replies as I have a very similiar situation. I wish I could help but obviously I cannot.
    \Good luck!

  • Adobe Forums being used to spam

Upon logging in at work this morning I got the following spam message from the Adobe Forums. The message came from someone named "lulishan" How do I prevent having trash like this mailed to my address? Some of these forums seem to be taken over by "script peddlers" and spammers. I couldn't find any contact info for a forum admin. I am posting this here because the message was in response to a question I had posted here.

  • Not receiving email from Adobe forums

    Hi all.
I am a member of Adobe's forum and I do not receive any notifications about the posts I have subscribed to. I receive instant notification emails from every other forum I subscribe to but not  Adobe's. I was told that maybe my ISP has a filter but I get all their other emails, just not the forum ones. Sounds like BS to me.
I was told to add their address to a white list.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

You might get an answer here, but I think it's a question for the Adobe Forum. Since you are receiving your other mail, it doesn't seem like a Mail or ISP problem.
