Adobe Framemaker - Documentum Error

Hi
I am trying to use Adobe FrameMaker 10 with Documentum and its giving below error while trying to make connection to Documentum.
"Cant initialize TypeInfoCache: {0}"
Any idea on this error, I hope this was tested before releasing with Documentum 6.5 SP1 or would there be any fix for this.

You do know that this a user-to-user forum, right? Nobody from Adobe officially monitors this for support issues.

Error of font in opening Adobe framemaker 10 file

whenever we try to open a file in adobe framemaker 10 this is the error its poping out, kindly get me a solution for this. The "Times" Font Family is not available. "Times New Roman" will be used in this session. The "Helvetica Bold Oblique" Font is not avaialbe. "Arial Bold Italic" will be used in this session. The "Helvetica Bold" Font is not available. This is just FM's way of telling you that you don't have those particular fonts installed and that it is using the specified substitutions in the [UnknownToKnownFontMap] section of your maker.ini file.
Either obtain and install these fonts or update the documents to make the font substitutions permanent (i.e. either turn-off the "Remember Missing Font Names" preference and save and close the documents and then turn the Preference back on OR use the Font Pod > Replace Font tab to do the substitutions and save the document).
Also, you should always have he AdobePDF printer instance as your default in a Framemaker session to also prevent any printer-resident fonts from being presented as a choice. Use the freebie Sundorne SetPrint utility to make his automatic. See: http://sundorne.com/FrameMaker/Freeware/setPrint.htm

Getting "Adobe Online Internal Error" in Adobe Framemaker

I'm getting "Adobe Online Internal Error" dialogue box popup when I open adobe framemaker 7.2 version.
This was working fine before reinstalling the adobe 8 professional.
In Framemaker popup is also coming under Help tab selecting any of the dropdown list like Support, Adobe online, updates, Registration
Can anyone please help me to get resolve this issue

I'm afraid that I can't help you with the internal error, but I noticed that you can't find the FrameLog files. My FM 9 installation often crashes when I quit FrameMaker, and I've searched the entire machine for them, to no avail. I'm quite sure that this is not due to an administrative issue because a week earlier I still had FM 8, and there were quite a few FrameLog files in the installation directory. Other Framers suggested to search for the files in the user profile (appdata\FrameMaker\9, application data\FrameMaker\9 or similar), and I found the directory, but not the log files.

seit kurzem habe ich ein Problem beim starten von Adobe Framemaker 9.
Sobald ich es starte kommt der Error:
File could not be downloaded

An unknown internet error occurred

Sobald man den error wegklickt startet das Programm ganz normal.
hat wer schon Erfahrungen damit gemacht oder weis wie man diesen error Lösen kann ?

Ok, ich habe das Problem gefunden.
Auf dem Pc war Windows XP Pro SP2 installiert. Normalerweise haben wir auf jedem PC bei uns ein Standard Image, welches das Betriebssystem, MS Office und andere Programme, welche hier immer gebraucht werden, beinhaltet. Also habe ich auf diesem PC nicht nach dem Betriebssystem geschaut, da ja auf jedem PC Windows XP Pro SP3 installiert ist. Keine Ahnung warum auf diesem das nicht der Fall war.

Ok, I found the problem.
On the PC Windows XP Pro SP2 was installed. Usually we've got a standard image on all our PCs with the main software like OS, MS Office and other programms. So I didn' look at the OS which is installed on this PC because on every PC is XP Pro SP3. I've got no idea why there was only SP2 on this PC.

Saving a Book as pdf made in Framemaker 9 in Framemaker 10 Error

I have a book that was created in FrameMaker 9, I believe, and I am trying to save the book as a pdf with my FrameMaker 10 software. When I go to do this I get a "Book Error Log" report that says "Could not open title.fm, because it was created with a previous version of FrameMaker." I really need to be able to save this book and others like it to pdf and I don't have access to the Adobe FrameMaker 9 software. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Open up all the files in the book first; they'll be converted; save them and the book and then try printing to PDF.

Adobe FrameMaker 12.0.3 Update Failed

FM 12 has been crashing regularly, and I am hopeful that the 12.0.3 update will help, but I'm getting the message "Update Failed" when I run the update.
The "Error Log" simply says:
Adobe FrameMaker 12.0.3 Update
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I wonder if anyone else is getting this error, and is there a way around it?

Update - I was able to get it to work by manually opening then closing Charactermap.exe.

Hi, I have turned off my Windows Firewall and disabled my McAfee anti-virus and still CAN'T download the free trial of Adobe Framemaker 10 - after numerous tries...

Could you provide some more details on what what you're doing? Are you're seeing any error messages?
Some details about your computer will also help.
1. Go to the following webpage: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?loc=en_us&product=framemaker. If you're signed in with your Adobe ID, log in when prompted.
2. Choose the < Language | Platform> and then click Download. A new window open and the downlaod should start.
You could try with a different browser, and also check if popup blocker is not letting the window open. You migth have to manually allow the popup window to open.

Cannot save a file in Adobe Framemaker 7.1.

I am trying to save a file in Adobe Framemaker 7.1. This file was created by one of our consultants. Unfortunately, we dont have anymore support from this consultant, so I am on my own. I get the following error when i try to save the file after making updates: Cannot lock file <abc.fm> for your use because you do not have write permission.

Sounds like wherever you’re trying to save it, you don’t have enough rights; try doing a Save As and put it on your local c:\ drive; then see about moving around to where you think it should go.

I was working on this problem a few months ago, but my workload made me simply use the FM 11 and FM 7.2 on my old XP PC. I now REALLY need to find time to focus on the FM 11 and Adobe tech comm suite on my Win 7 Professional PC. I "forced" myself to work on this today.
Here are answers to your questions:
I was trying to "save book as" PDF and it starts as if generating PDF with Distiller, but tps file is zero bytes. NO error messages. No, I never had to have Adobe PDF printer as the FM default printer in the past. But I just tried it with Adobe PDF as default printer, and it didn't work. Used RGB mode. Job option = "Standard". Yes, I checked for FM updates and it says there are none and that 11.0.2.384 is the latest version.
I am most frustrated and have tried everything. I have worked with FrameMaker for 15 years, and I thought I understood it well. But this has me stumped.
About two months ago, I took the PC to the office (I normally work from home but go there about once a month for meetings at the Dallas office) and sat with my PC side-by-side with the other technical writer. Compared what happened, and we were both stumped. I need to go back and do that again. My inclination is to uninstall Adobe Tech Comm Suite 4 and selective install only FM 11 with Distiller. Then I can go back and selectively install RoboHelp 10 for HTML help.
I REALLY appreciate your willingness to help. I am not sure what to do next. THANK YOU very much for responding. Like I said, I think I need another session at the office to compare notes step-by-step; I think it has something to do with the PDF printer/converter, but not sure why it works on other writer's PC and not mine. I might have to make time and call Adobe to see whether they can remotely access my PC and try to assist. But that assumes they have some expert available who REALLY understands this software.

Adobe Framemaker 9

Adobe Framemaker 9 is not installing AdobePDF Creation add on 9 in silent mode.Also when i tried to run MSI separately then it is giving error saying that install thorugh setup.exe.
Please advise

I am using FM 9.0 only in UI mode it is giving option to install adobe pdf creation add-on 9.0, but while silent instalaltion there is no option to install this add-on.
Also after FM 9.0 i want to install update 9.0.3 but it is also not getting installedg giving error saying that patch only work with 9 p237.

Error: NFS3ERR_NOENT -   This is by design of OneFS, we coalesce files and then flush them out to disk which is why the commit time is accurate but the file is not immediately available. however when an async option is used within the mount options this should be avoided if writing asynchronously to the cluster. Has anyone else seen this behavior lately? (current workaround is to store locally and transfer to the cluster via Finder)

That error can happen for many reasons...one of the reasons that I occassionaly get it is because I try exporting a movie to an external drive that has been formated in the old FAT32 instead of the NTSF standard. FAT32 only allows for file sizes up to 2 gigs. And as soon as it reaches that...I would get that error. I don't know if that is why you are getting that error...but it would be easy to check. 1) are you generating a file that is over 2 gigs? 2) is your drive that you are exporting to FAT 32 (just right click the drive in My Computer and select "properties" then just look for what it says next to "file system".

I'm trying to utilize Prelude to actually TRANSCODE some R3D material. Since R3D clips are spanned, Prelude can 'reassemble' them. (I don't understand why AME can't do this since Prelude uses AME... but...)
I get this error when trying to start the transcode in Prelude... any help out there?

Sorry for the late reply. My email firewall has become a little over zealous & sent a lot of my emails straight to my junk email folder, so I have only just now discovered your reply in my junk mail folder.
The only "don't open files exceeding xxx megabytes" instruction I can find in my Prefs, is in the Bridge Prefs for Thumbnails, & mine is set at 1000mb. The biggest files I handle are bigger than 200mb so I should be able to open a few, not just one.
However, this doesn't explain why I can open a psd format file of 180mb, close it, but then can't open a RAW format file of only 26mb immediately after.
I can open the RAW file only if I restart my computer - very annoying!
However, thanks for the advice about the video card & memory.
So, I'm still stuck as to what the issue is.
