Adobe Galleries in iWeb 2? html snippets?

What I am seeking is a better grasp of how the html widgets work - but most specifically, I want to put some Adobe galleries on my iWeb site.
iPhoto doesn't seem to do the trick I want - which is a horizontal row of thumbnails in one pane/frame & the selected one to appear large in the main pane.
This has been long available in Photoshop. How to manage the iWeb site with such a link is my current dilemma. How to get it in there at all.
==========
Elaboration:
Am marginally proficient in html, but unless you keep it up, its a digression from my task.
I have the latest Dreamweaver, though haven't used it since a much older version & then sparingly.
Thus, since the core of my one site is in iWeb, I don't have time to get up to speed & rework the site in Dreamweaver at this time. All I need is a tweak to get the galleries up there for now.
Further, I have one of the older pre-iweb pages that is protected as well as the iWeb page. How do they mesh? It seems I can drop a gallery via iPhoto. Its just not the way I want it to look.
Excuse the similarity this may have to other threads & questions, but I don't see the definitive explanation of the "html widgets" anywhere. They generally seem to point externally on the web.

Here's the translation by Google. I couldn't have done it better.
+I use PageSpinner for typing code. The disadvantage is that your HTML knowledge must have because there is no pressure-on-the-button-by-prefabricated stuff in it. You have to, let's say, worry and remember. Therefore, I simply keep my code.+
+The movies are gefabriekt with iMovie'08. Even though some consumers case. Video aftercare done with QuickTime Pro.+
+Pictures, most PNG, create and edit my PhotoShop Elements 2.0 and GraphicConverter. I love transparent shadows.+
+Meanwhile, I also worked out how to circumvent <embed> with <object>. <embed> Validates not to W3.Org. Some browsers support <object> + classid not correct or <embed> <object> + type. Safari and Camino have that problem. You need to use both.+
+By A List Apart I came this handigheidje against. The opportunities I knew, but was not on the idea of combining the two. The solution is nested <object>. Plan is for the older code to work well so that validates. More on A List Apart <object> to get by searching. Look at the code of the examples once and download the text.+
+I only xhtml strict. The aardigheid is that you and <iframe> gevoegelijk can forget and can be replaced by <object>. In my handgetikte code to make use of it. IWeb makes it even more with xhtml transitional and <iframe>.+
+-- Search for Google to object or iframe.+
+Images are displayed with <object> have resulted in MSIE fully afgeserveerd. If you want another PNG has been used twice party.+
+-- W3.Org on Objects, Images, and Applets in HTML.+
+Apple has an article devoted to embed QuickTime <object> into pages that are displayed with MSIE. But that solution we start not.+
+Here's a sample page that shows how to embed the <object> code with the HTML WebWidget Snippet feature.+

  • Embed iCal into iWeb through HTML snippet after Lion OSX update

    How do I embed my published iCal calendar into iWeb through an HTML snippet AFTER the Lion OSX update last month? I use iWeb to create my classroom website but it no longer has my interactive calendar for my students. Help!

    I am curious about this too, does anyone know how to embed a Lion iCal Calendar into iWeb?
    I found an old walkthrough of how to do it, but on the published site it just opens ical and offers a subscription, you cannot actually see the calendar on the web page it is embedded on.
    Thanks!

  • IWeb: Twitter HTML Snippets Don't Work

    For several months, I've used iWeb (most up-to-date version) to host my personal website. It is jonathankeilholz.com. This morning, I realized that my Twitter snippets were no longer showing - neither when in preview nor when published. The YouTube ones work, but the Twitter ones do not.
    The first time I noticed it was yesterday (11 June 2013). I tried multiple times to copy and paste the Twitter widget HTML codes and other options. Nothing worked.
    Any thoughts? Thanks!
    Jonathan

    Hello,
    I used the HTML code from Twitter's website. I'm still not having any luck.
    When I copy and paste the HTML snippet, the result is a blue hyperlink that says "Tweets by JDKeilholz."
    UPDATE: I tried other widgets and it seems the same thing is happening regardless of it being from Twitter.
    Bizarre!

  • Iweb 2008 HTML snippet scrollbox not recognized

    Hello-
    I recently upgraded to OSX 10.5.6 and put this code in the snippet box and it works within iweb '08 but isn't recognized when I publish it.

  • Possible to incorporate motools js into iWeb via HTML snippets?

    I have a pretty media rich site, with plenty of quicktime files. Unfortunately I don't like the iWeb/HTML standard of viewing Quicktime movies in the browser as it slows down page load times and/or requires a lot of unnecessary and redundant page building. Instead, I use a javascript built on motools to do an overlay view of a quicktime file (similar to how many trailers appear at quicktime.com). The problem with this however is that I have to do ALOT of manual HTML editing after I "publish to folder". Does anyone know a streamlined way of achieving this from within iWeb so that I can ideally use "publish to mobileme" and be done with it?

    similar to how many trailers appear at quicktime.com
    you may like to rethink, you can implement presentation effects with Lytebox and Shadowbox without mootools.
    I had not good luck with mootools.js because some conflicts with prototype.js - prototype is part of iweb javascript framework/lib.
    Lytebox and Shadowbox can be implemented entirely in iweb without other framework/lib, post editing and can be done in iweb albums/photos page:
    http://iweb3widgets.cyclosaurus.com/Shadowbox/NonPhotosPage.html
    http://iweb3widgets.cyclosaurus.com/Lytebox/Photos.html
    q: how are you with javascript? DOM? and iweb?

  • How to capture an HTML snippet like dashboard widget?

    How do you copy a website html to paste into an iWeb 09 html snippet? Is there a copy command in the Safari browser like when you clip a snippet to make a Dashboard widget? That would be too easy. Do I need some other software for copying the html?

    Photog Dog wrote:

    Drag your pointer over the embed code so that it is all highlighted in blue. Then do ⌘C to copy it and then paste it into iWeb's HTML Snippet window by doing ⌘V.
    Is there a copy command in the Safari browser like when you clip a snippet to make a Dashboard widget?
    No — Only the general ⌘C and ⌘V editing commands mentioned above.
    Do I need some other software for copying the html?
    No.

  • My html snippet has only worked for 2 minutes in three months.

    Warning: Long, descriptive story up ahead.
    I bought my macbook pro complete with iLife 08 bundle software in January and eventually I became a little bit more advanced so I wanted to try using "html snippets" in iWeb.
    That's when I discovered it was not working on my iWeb. (I have the latest version of iWeb 08 possible). Also, this is of less concern but my navigation menu is not displaying either-- meaning on the face of my webpages the individual Page Titles are not displaying "Main", "About Me" when I choose "display navigation menu" option from the inspector-- all I get is a big stupid empty space. And yes, I have all the options check to "display this page in my navigation menu" or some such.
    So I drove over to an applestore (which took a whole freaking day of my time) and they opened up software updates in the store. This was around the whole MobileMe thing, so I got that upgrade too. And magically my iWeb's html snippets started working for the first time ever! I almost cried, but let's face it, there are more beautiful and spectacular things in life worth my tears of joy. Anyway, I indeed was really happy because I thought this was going to be the beginning of me being able to html snippet youtube videos directly onto my site and do other such amazing things!
    Then today when I got home, I'm back to the same stupid non-working html snippet feature again!!!!
    I can describe the html snippet issue a little bit: In my non-working html snippet version, a little transparent box appears when I try and open up html snippets... in this little box I can't type anything. How iWeb should work is that this black box should appear where you can type in your code and then a separate little box below the black one works on displaying what you coded.
    One maybe important thing I noticed is that... You know how when you open up iWeb, in the left column by your sites there are/were those blue globe .mac picture? Well, after the MobileMe upgrade in the store (just yesterday actually on the 27th), those blue globes turned into blue squares with white clouds. So I think the conversion from .mac to MobileMe helped fixed my bugs? Because today my html snippets doesn't work again and I'm back to the .mac blue globes. I want those little blue squares with white clouds again if it will fix my issue!!
    HELP, please. Thanks!

    I would look at several things. I'm assuming it shows fully charged after you charge it and that this is a new iphone and not used. Check your location services under Privacy: Location Services for apps that use your location. If you have apps always checking your location it can use power. Turn off any you don't really need. You can always turn them back on.
    Check you wifi settings. Turn off the " Ask to join other Networks". If you are driving down the road it will be looking for other networks to join.
    Turn off any apps running in the background that are not needed.
    Restart your iPhone after you have done this. Hopefully this will improve your battery usage.

  • HTML Snippet Truncated

    I'm trying to use Old Toad's Embedding Forms tutorial "Adding Email Comments Form Via HTML Snippet".
    When I add it to my iWeb page using the HTML Snippet the bottom gets truncated ie, the Submit and Clear buttons don't display.
    Here is the address of my page http://web.mac.com/billspaulding/ohs50s/UnderConstruction.html
    In addition, the formatting of the text paragraph at the top of the page is messed up ie, lines squeezed together.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Bill

    I published, first Site Changes and then the Entire Site, to a local folder and I don't see the buttons at the bottom of the form in either case. And the text still doesn't have enough space between lines (this is one of the problems - it looks fine in iWeb after it's saved and before it's published).
    The problems only occur when I try to use iWeb's HTML Snippets. When I Publish Changes to MM then download the page with CyberDuck, insert the code using Taco HTML Edit, and then upload with CyberDuck everything works.
    I guess this means something is wrong with my iWeb application. I'll perform the remaining troubleshooting steps suggested on the site you referenced. But if that doesn't fix the problems I guess I'll give up and just not use HTML Snippets.

  • HTML Snippet Error

    I'e seen many YouTube videos on using the iWeb '08 HTML Snippets. The problem is that when I use ANY of the Web Widgets a blank box just pops up.So I just typed the HTML code into the box and published my site. When I opened it there is just the code but it is just acting as plain text. Anyone know how solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the discussions. When the +"blank box just pops up"+, is that the result of clicking on the +Web Widgets+ icon in iWeb's lower toolbar and choosing +HTML Snippet+ ?
    ...You should see a black window appear — do you see that? If so, that's where the snippet code should be pasted.
    If you want to post screenshots here of what you're seeing, go here:
    http://www.imageno.com
    ...once uploaded, from the resulting page, copy & paste the *"HTML code for webpages"* into your forum post and switch to Preview mode to check the clickable thumbnail works.

  • Can I use a graphic to link to an html snippet?

    I'm trying to embed a video that is hosted on vimeo, and that is pretty easy using Vimeo's embed tool or iWeb's HTML snippet tool and pasting the code.
    What I'd like to do is have a different graphic, like a logo become a live link for that embedded video.  Is that do-able?  If not, is it possible to use a different frame as the image for the link or at least size/edit the first thumbnail that ith html widget uses?
    As an aside, it would be great to constrain the frame size the video is playing in to cut off the bottom.

    Do you mean that you want to have a graphic as a hyperlink that opens the video in a new page or window?
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Website-Movie-Video/Click-To-Play.html
    You can change the frame height in the code but it will mean that part of the movie won't be seen....

    when i'm editing iWeb, the player shows up and plays the music and everything is fine! but when i publish the site, it says "Movie not loaded" when you click on it.
    the site i'm currently working on is still being worked on, but i made an extra page to show whoever could help me. the link is:
    http://web.me.com/henreegee/IamTokyo/Blank.html

    That method can be done using iFrame code in an HTML snippet. You need to upload the Family Matters - Computer.m4v file to your server and link to it there via an HTML snippet and iFrame code. An example is in this demo page along with the code: QT movies via iFrame.
    There are other ways to add the movie (the full one Family Matters - Computer.m4v.
    One is to upload the file to your server and linking to it as shown in this demo page: Opening Item in a New, Precisely Sized Window.
    The method you posted is explained in this tutorial: Old Toad's Tutorial #18 - Adding Movie/Video File to iWeb Page via Export for Web in Quicktime Player. To see the edits click on the buttons in steps 5a and 5b.

  • HTML Snippet does not exist as a Widget option in iWeb 09

    I have iWeb 09 on my machine. I'm trying to insert an HTML Snippet onto a page so i can drop in the code for a XSPF player.
    When i choose "Show Media", under Widgets there are only four, and HTML Snippet isn't one of them. I only have:
    MobileMe Gallery
    Google AdSense
    iSight Photo
    iSight Movie
    I also don't have the YouTube widget, the Google Map Widget--these i only know about by looking in support and seeing that these should all be there.
    Any thoughts as to how i can get HTML Snippet available in my media widgets? My site is almost completed and ready to publish. Without this feature it will be pointless to publish at all.
    Many thanks for any suggestions!

  • IWeb, HTML Snippet, and MySQL via GoDaddy (db already built)

    I have a site (zigcodes.info) that is hosted by GoDaddy. I built the site using iWeb. No complaints there. I have a MySQL database and table built to store codes added by users. There is also one called "hit list" on another page, but I haven't finished coding it. I need to solve this problem before I can finish that page. So far, I've successfully linked my submit forms to the database. When a user adds a code, it does indeed populate into the database (hooray for small miracles).
    Of course, doing this dumps the user onto a blank white page, but I think I can fix that with a redirect at the end of the php file used by the form. My problem comes in when I try to display the codes in the database on my page. I know how to query the db using SELECT * FROM, but I can't figure out what to do with the data after that.
    I'm having a heck of a time getting the HTML Snippet widget correct in iWeb. I've seen suggestions that are all over the place, but can't seem to get any to work. I'm told that <iframe> may be a viable solution, but I am at a loss as to how. Honestly, my site is very simple and I don't need fancy functionality. All I need is a list, in table form would be nice but really not necessary, of the 30 names/codes most recently added to the db by users of my site. I can get the echo command to print headers for my data, but not the data itself.
    Will <iframe> work, and if so, how? If not, what's my best bet? Should I go with a table in the HTML Snippet widget, with tags like  <? echo "$code"; ?> inserted into my<td></td> content? Or, would it be best to use the <script src="activecodes.php"></script> solution with an external php file? Or am I way off on all of these? I do know that iWeb won't do it for me with it's own magic, but it seems like there should still be a way to add code into the HTML Snippet widget and display the db data on the iWeb designed page. Help?

    Yeah, the code you suggested isn't live now because I always remove changes to my code that affect no change. It makes for a cleaner build later. Here are some variations of your sugestion that I tried:
    <div align="center"><form name="newcodes" action="newcode.php" method="post">
    <input type="text" name="newcode"/>
    <br />
    <input type="submit" value="Add it!" />
    <input type="hidden" name="good_url" value="http://www.zigcodes.info/" />
    </form>
    </div>
    AND
    <div align="center"><form name="newcodes" action="newcode.php" method="post">
    <input type="hidden" name="good_url" value="http://www.zigcodes.info/" />
    <input type="text" name="newcode"/>
    <br />
    <input type="submit" value="Add it!" />
    </form>
    </div>
    AND
    <div align="center"><form name="newcodes" action="newcode.php" method="post">
    <input type="text" name="newcode"/>
    <input type="hidden" name="good_url" value="http://www.zigcodes.info/" />
    <br />
    <input type="submit" value="Add it!" />
    </form>
    </div>
    I even tried this because I saw other people suggesting it in similar forums:
    <div align="center"><form name="newcodes" action="newcode.php" method="post">
    <input type="text" name="newcode"/>
    <br />
    <input type="submit" value="Add it!" />
    <input type="hidden" name="redirect" value="http://www.zigcodes.info/" />
    </form>
    </div>
    All of the above produce the exact same, unwanted result: a blank white screen with the URL of my .php file (the one that handles the form post).
