Adobe Gamma als einzelnes Tool?

Hallo liebe Adobies,

Was habe ich falschgemacht?

    b Lightroom 1.0.

Uhhhh, please no Adobe Gamma in lightroom, CS3 or any product.
It was nearly impossible to get Adobe Gamma to work correctly for colors. Maybe a lucky few made it work.
With CS & CS 2 you were better off deleting Adobe Gamma from the startup group. Then using the color matching profile for your monitor.

  • How to disable Adobe Gamma in Windows 7?

I have a new PC running Windows 7 and a new monitor. I want to color-calibrate the monitor using Spyder3, as I've done in the past with Windows XP. I cannot, however, locate Adobe Gamma in the msconfig "Startup" folder on Windows 7 to de-activate it. Has it been eliminated? Can I run the calibration program without taking this step? Many thanks in advance.

I'm loading CS5 (upgraded from CS3). It's the computer OS that I've had to remove it from before - and it doesn't appear in the Startup folder, unlike in Windows XP's system. (Or in the Control Panel, although there is a "Color Management" folder that lists color profiles I've downloaded from Epson when I downloaded my printer drivers for Windows 7).
So I guess Windows 7 doesn't include it, and I am free to do my calibration. Adobe's tech support phone line is closed for the weekend so I am turning to you forum experts. There must be someone out there who has encountered this in setting up a new computer system and loading PS onto it. Thanks for the input from both you and John.

  • Qosmio G30: Monitor Phosphors needed to configure Adobe Gamma

I am calibrating my monitor with Adobe Gamma and need to know what Phosphors it uses. The options are:
    HDTV (CCIR 709)
    EBU/ITU
    NTSC (1953)
    P22-EBU
    SMPTE-C (CCIR 601-1)
    Trinitron
    Custom...
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

Please correct me someone, but TFT monitors don't use phosphors at all :) (unless they mean something else by this calibration)
Their technology is based on Thin Film Transistors rather than the old classic way of having electrons created in a tube shoot towards the phosphor-front on the monitor.
Only Plasma screens and CRT monitors would need such adjustment.
Btw, using a screen-saver on TFT screens is unnecessary as this technology does not BURN IN a picture like on phosphor based screen. Only the Backlight gets weak which means it's better to "Power off" your monitor rather than make a windows logo pop up from one corner to the other every couple of seconds.
My 2 cents to this, sorry if I was of no help

  • Removing Adobe Gamma on an eMac computer

I have a Spyder2express and an eMac computer.
I have read that before I profile my monitor using any monitor calibrator, I must first remove Adobe Gamma alias from start up folder. That this file must be deleted before using the monitor profiling system. That if I don't remove Adobe Gamma, there maybe problems creating a satisfactory profile with the Spyder2express.
    The questions I have are:
1 I am unable to find the Adobe Gamma alias folder?
    2. Could somebody walk me though the steps to find and delete the Adobe Gamma alias folder?
    thanks
    Sue

Unless you have an ancient machine running a prehistoric version of the OS and of Photoshop, there is no Adobe Gamma on your machine. The Mac version was discontinued eons ago.

  • Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool

    Windows 7
I already have the Creative Suite for CS5
I have recently purchased the license for and downloaded some programs with Creative Cloud
Question about the article at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    The first paragraph states:
"The Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Suite 6, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite 5 - 5.5, Adobe Creative Suite 4, and Adobe Creative Suite 3 software."
Item 7, near the bottom states:
"Now you can proceed with your installation of the desired shipped version of the Creative Suite"
    My question should be obvious:
    Which is it?
Does the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool apply to Adobe Creative Cloud or to the shipped version or to all listed in the first paragraph?
This is another example of why SO MANY OF US are so frustrated by your support.
Please answer the question without a link to another article with contraditions or, for that matter, any article.
    It's a simple question.
I am spending MANY hours trying to correct YOUR error, which leads to Creative Cloud install failures. And, yes, I have gone to the forums, to the community, and have replied, and continue to read support's circuituous excuses and misdirected answers.
    Thank you.

The Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Suite versions 3-6, and Creative Cloud. The tool can clean up install records for prerelease installations of Creative Suite products. The CS  Cleaner Tool does not interfere with existing installations of previous versions of Adobe Creative Suite products.

  • Adobe Gamma, where is it?

I'm using a PC with Vista.
The following doesn't seem to be true in my case: The Photoshop installer installs Adobe Gamma control panel (Adobe Gamma.cpl) into the Windows/System folder (Windows Me and 98) or the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Calibration (Windows XP and 2000), and it installs the Adobe Gamma loader application (Adobe Gamma Loader.exe) into the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Calibration folder. In addition, it installs a shortcut to the Adobe Gamma Loader application in the Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Startup folder (Windows Me and 98) or the Documents and Settings/All Users/Start Menu/Programs/Setup (Windows XP and 2000). As a result, the Adobe Gamma loader application appears in the Start > Programs > Startup menu and starts automatically during Windows startup.
While loading Adobe Gamma.cpl during Windows startup, the Adobe Gamma Loader application applies settings in the Adobe Gamma.cpl file to the system and applies calibration settings you saved for your monitor at the system level.

you don't say what version of photoshop. it's not included with cs3 anymore.

  • Adobe Gamma

The little program ADOBE GAMMA that appears in the Control Panel of Windows after the installation of Photoshop CS2 has now disappeared from CS3.
For whatever reason it has not been included I do not know, but then I find this little colour management to adjust the screen to match colours has been of great importance to people like me - 4 Colour Offset Output on printing ink. This is because the program that comes with the graphic cards do not favour cmyk colours but more on rgb.
So I appeal to ADOBE - Bring back the adobe gamma in the next upgrade so that I do not have to install both CS2 AND CS3 to utilize Adobe Gamma.

Unfortunately, when technology changes, you sometimes have to spend money to keep up with it. While I would not waste my money on the least expensive calibrators available, I do consider the money for an EyeOne well worth it. It's worth it in knowing that you're calibrated and your files are right. It's worth it in the savings you'll see in fewer rounds of prints to get a good one or proofs if that's your choice. Sure, you CAN use the old file on an LCD, but it really doesn't work very well. I hate to say it, but when you're in the imaging game at any level, you sometimes need to spend a few dollars (or a few thousand) in order to do things right.
    Let's see...
    Radius PressView $2500
    Barco Ref V $4500
    3 Sony Artisans @ $1500
    Praxisoft Profiler $2000
    ProfileMaker $3000
    Spectrolino T $6000
    DTP-92 Calibrator $ 600
In the last ten years just a few of the items purchased in the quest for better and more predictable color. Admittedly I am a professional, but it just illustrates what you can spend if you're so inclined. And notice that the best calibrator of years past - the DTP-92 - was over three times what a modern EyeOne goes for today. A couple hundred really isn't much.

  • Removing Adobe Gamma

I have just installed a Spyder 3 Pro on my PC and couldnt find any uninstall for Adobe Gamma. The PC is running XP Pro (32 bit SP3) and I have CS4 and CS2 installed.
To remove Adobe Gamma I took the following steps after I had installed the Spyder software but before calibrating:
    1. Removed the shortcuts to Adobe Gamma and Adobe Gamma Loader from the start-up folder.
    2. Removed Adobe Gamma Loader.exe and Adobe Gamma.cpl from the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration.
There didnt appear to be any remove feature in the control panel, but the Gamma control panel now doesnt appear in the control panel and the PC reboots without any errors.
Was this the correct procedure or was there a better way to do it?

Thanks I wasnt sure if there was anything to clean out in the registry, but as it all appears to be working its probably best left alone.
The calibration was close to what I had achieved with Adobe Gamma, but a little less saturated. This probably explains why prints usually came out less saturated than I was expecting the grey scale calibration was much better than I had achieved by eye.

  • Is Adobe Gamma not installed with CS3?

It is not in the control panel on a clean CS3 install. Has Adobe stopped including Adobe Gamma in the CS3 installations?

well in answer to the original quesion: NO, Adobe still distributes AdobeGamma with CS3. I told you how to find it. It's just not installed (for whatever reason, I thought it mught be due to Vista)
And whats this crap about gamma correction NOT working on LCD's? what rock have you been living under?. I bounce from office to office doing temp contracts, and first thing I do is calibrate everyone's monitors using Adobe Gamma, you wouldnt believe the results. If you can more closely match the colour onscreen to the printed output then there's bugger-all guess work involved.
Sure most LCD's dont have the rich black of a CRT, but every monitor can benefit from some gamma correction and colour adjustment. Maybe you just have no idea how to use the program...

    Beispiel:
    Heute:
    8.10.00-27.10.00 532.VOB - Originalfilm 1 GB (vob-File)
    Neu:
    Clip1 100 KB (vob-File)
    Clip2 50 KB (vob-File)
    Clip3 50 KB (vob-File)
    Clip4 50 KB (vob-File)
    etc.
    Freundliche Grüsse

  • Screen Calibration using Adobe Gamma in Windows XP

How do you effectively calibrate the screen in XP using Adobe Gamma?
I notice that when I work on photos in Photoshop in XP, the colours are very different when I open the JPEGs or RAW back in Mac OS or on any other monitor

When you calibrate the screen using system preferences->displays->colors->calibrate display, the calibration states that the gamma setting is different for a Mac than a PC. Macs native gamma is set at 1.8 whle the PC standard is 2.2. You should create a calibration profile calling it a "PC Display" or something easily remembered, then activate that screen setting and reboot in Windows
