I bought and downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 from Amazon, which would seem to be a legitimate source. Everything runs smoothly, and seems correct up until the point of installation, when this happens after the installation process reaches 99%. The message simply reads: "The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit." This doesn't seem right. What is going on? How can I successfully install Elements?

CS6 Installation Failure - Adobe Genuine Software Verification Error

I am trying to install CS6 as a trial version on my Windows8 laptop but keep being told that my software is counterfeit (" Installation Failure - Adobe Genuine Software Verification Error").
I have uninstalled and re-downloaded it with no success, and the only forum post i can see on this suggests checking the date/time on the PC are correct (which they are).
Any further ideas?

Thanks very much for replying Mylenium - i found this before but it only contains a link to photoshopCC rather than CS6 unless I have missed it??. I have bought a licence for the student/teacher edition of CS6 (which I am still waiting for) so presume that downloading photoshop CC wont work.
I have also tried the 'troubleshoot' link provided but couldnt find anything specific to this error.
Has anyone successfully resolved this problem for CS6?

I am Unable to install Dreamweaver CS6 Upgrade from CS4 from Hard Drive DUMP -
Error :Installation Failed

Can any one help me with this issue. I earlier installed it from DVD but, i am unable to find DVD. I have a copy of full DVD Dump in network.
Can someone help me fix the issue.
Note: I have installed Dreamweaver CS4 with serial number.and am trying to install upgrade over cs4.

It was because i was installing directly from network dump.
I've managed to install and register software.

This is the third DVD I have purchased that tells me the same thing. I am running Windows 7, have plenty of room to load this product. Is there some missing file or something I need to do to get beyond this?

Can't download Adobe Application Manager. Keep getting "Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure: The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit." What do I do? I've tried several times and I keep getting the same thing.

I just purchased InDesign and am trying to download it, but get this crazy error msg...
"Adobe genuine software validation failure. The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine software and it appears to be counterfeit."
And it doesn't give me any more options.
Can you please let me know what to do? How can a product from its own site be "counterfeit"?

I have the upgraded cs6 premuim suite with license and was loading it on a bigger ssd (I had disabled the product on the smaller drive). It loaded fine, got the code # plus the code # from the previous version cs5.5. But now it won't let me get the updates on cs6, I got the adobe genuine software verification failure...now what?

I'm try to install Adobe Design & Web Premium CS6 of KMUTNB license in the university network (i'm staff of KMTNB email:<e-mail removed by Moderator>).
When the installer installed about 10% it show message "adobe genuine software varification failure. The product you are trying to install is not an adobe genuine software and appears to be counterfeit." and stop install.
Please resolve my problem.

The Verification does not recognize the proper email address, used to sign-on the membership.The verification is trying to use an old account, which no longer exists, instead of the one established, for the membership, which is valid. I need Adobe CS6, it can't wait for trouble-shooting issues to keep arising. I made the mistake of recycling the original disks, thinking it was already replaced with a new version and corrupted, due to a hard disk crash. I need this software NOW and it's too costly, to purchase the boxed version, without a educational discount. I may use that discount in the future, but this project can't wait.

I am having the same problem as FCSScheidt. The application manager begins to update and then I get a message that the "Adobe genuine software check has determined my software is counterfeit"
I tried to follow the instructions for the install log for listed on the link for Windows 64 bit (XP, Vista, 7) (Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers)
, but there is not a log for the Application manager.
I also went into C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeApplicationManager\AAMSetup and ran the setup file and got a screen that says "your installation encountered errors. please try restarting your system and instaling again. Installer failed to initialize." Of course restarting does nothing.

Branched this out to a new discussuon.

Trying to install CS6 Master Collection, all I get is "Adobe Genuine Software Verification Failure"

Also states the product I am trying to install appears to be Counterfeit. Did the updates for CS5.5 and tried re-installing, still nothing.
