Adobe gpo issue

I am having trouble installing the abobe font's pack for vista PC's. I have created my gpo for the install of adobe and that all works fine on XP and Vista PC's.
The problem I am having is with the font pack. The gpo I have created has the five different font msi's in one gpo and it install's fine on XP pc's yet on the install of Vista it does not install them in fact according to the event viewer it say's it is removing them as apposed to installing them. I can install the font manually and it works fine yet I wonder if anyone else has had this issue and if there is a work around.

This is not a Reader issue. I'm at a loss of where to send you for help. I think you can try the typography forum as the closest possibility.

Adobe TV Issues on Mac

Sorry if this isn't the right location for this posting, but I couldn't see any specific section for Adobe TV issues.
We seem to be having issues with Adobe TV on Macs where the video never loads.
This has been tested with OS X 10.6 and 10.7 and using Firefox 4, 5, 6 and 7 and Safari 5.
The video's load fine using PC's on our corporate network with Firefox so I know it isn't our proxy server configuration.
The advert before the video will load and I get the countdown to when the video will start, but the video never does start and the time at the bottom left is always at 00:00.
The only thing I can think of is that this is a permissions issue as our Mac users do need to enter proxy login credentials to get to the internet, but there is no pop-up login box or any other error message being displayed.
I spotted this question http://forums.adobe.com/message/3113557#3113557 about someone who was having issues with AdobeTV on their iMac.
I've tried changing the Flash settings, but this has made no difference.
If anyone can help me figure out what's going on, I'd be very grateful.

Can you go to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html to check which version of flash player your browser is using on Mac.
Your problem seems to be related with video. Are you able to see any youtube video on Mac?

I have tried many things to try to install it and I have been unsucessful. Please help I have windows 8 64bit.

This did not resolve my issue, it actually made things worse. I did what
you had told me to do below, and it did not work. Tried to access the
internet to respond back to you and my computer was not able to reach the
internet. Tried reaching adobe support and not was able to, even tried
calling was on the phone for 20 minutes and no one answered. I was not able
to re install windows. Contacted Asus from another computer and they were
not able to help me reinstall windows They had asked me to ship my computer
back to them, due to them not being able to resolve the issue and help me
reinstall windows. I luckily had a backup on my external hard drive and was
able to reinstall windows 8. Spent over an hour and half trying to fix
that. Here I am still not able to install adobe reader. I was very unhappy
with what I was told to do and it gave me this issue.
· Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow
for the elevation prompt
· In the command prompt, type the command below:
fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If
it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter
appropriately.
· Restart the system.
· Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.

Just to be clear, I took your words to mean you are on the latest version of Safari, but are you also on the latest version of Flash? Go to System Preferences -> Flash Player and compare the version number to what is available to download for your computer on the Adobe Flash webpage. A few questions to consider: does the issue persist in other browsers? What model computer are you using specifically and are you equipped to handle the tasks you are looking to perform?

As a Realtor I can't access documents on our ARMLS web site, the tech support say it is an adobe reader issue?

For some reason, suddenly I can't access the documents tab on our ARMLS web site. I called Tech support for the Flex web site and they say they can open the tab and read the docs fine.
They are saying it is an Adobe issue on my computer. I un installed adobe and reloaded but the same result.

Yes, I just changed my browser to Internet Explorer and same result, I
still can not read any PDF documents loaded to this site.
I have not tried un installing adobe but that is next, then reinstalling
while in Explorer.

Hello All,

Before going further, would you let me know the symptoms, when you find there is a group policy issue? For
an example, which function you can use? Or any others? It may help me undertsnad this issue clearly.
Please enable Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon setting (Path: Computer Settings->
Policies-> Administrative Templates-> System-> Logon). And run gpupdate /force command to refresh the group policy settings. Then check if it’s same result.
Regarding to the message, it seems that there are some troubles in Software Installation and Folder Direction
policy. For Software Installation, please check the installation source and make sure that exists and can be accessed. For folder redirection, please refer to the following similar thread and then check if can solve this issue.

Reply from Overdrive mentioned that this is Adobe server issue.

GPO issue with Adobe Acrobat / Reader

Hello,
I am trying to deploy out Adobe Pro 9 via GPO and when installing on clean machine there are no issues. However, we have machines with Adobe Standard 6.0, Adobe Reader 8.1.2, or actually both (ugh). Simply removing the MSD group for these older GPO's does not completely uninstall all the files and registry entries - this is then causing a "fatal error installing..." in event log when the new GPO tries to deploy, and causes it to fail. Despite all the reccomendations the only way I can get the new GPO to deploy is by going into the registry manually and searching /removing every single reference of Adobe.
Does anyone know of a more efficient method to allow the new GPO to deploy, or are the KB articles the only known options (which unforutnately did not work for me).

Hi Andy,
I sympathize with your situation but can't offer much help. Adobe doesn't support 7.x now let alone 6.x. Further, GPO was really designed to manage registry settings and was never designed to manage full installs--especially over multiple, older versions of legacy products. You may have script your way to cleaning all the old reg keys and legacy files before installing.
The new way to handle deployments on Windows is SCCM. Microsoft recommends SCE for smaller businesses (http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/en/us/essentials.aspx). SCCM is far more powerful and provides an amazing set of features beneficial to managing clients across the enterprise.

New problem with newest version of flash. For all my computer (over 250 computers........) i have 2 issues.
First, block on unistalling (Flash16.0.0.296) and must waiting around 2hours or shut down computer, unplug rj45 and restart without it. And i must installing manualy with .exe file the version.........
Second issue, installshield blocking on installation (16.0.0.305). Same resolution and when i check version in adobe flash in control panel, the computer has 16.0.0.305 version.
So what the ..... ?
I must delete my GPO and stopping this update for this time.
How to remain it correctly ?

I'm having a similar problem with a few of my 200 or so PCs.
They sit there at the Please Wait screen rather than logging in to Windows. You can force it to allow the login by remote killing the msiexec process.
I'm still not quite sure what it's doing but it's rather annoying.

Adobe CS issues on MacBook Pro

I am unable to open my Adobe Reader 7.0 (crashes upon opening) and am not able to have more than one of the CS2 applications open at the same time without one of them crashing. Anyone else run into this issue? Is this a mac issue or an adobe one? please advise.

Adobe Connect issues with Windows 7

Has anyone found a solution to the problems Adobe Connect has with Windows 7?

Sounds like something is blocking network traffic. I'm not aware of any Windows 7 specific issues. I've used Windows 7 with connect for 2 years with no Windows specific issues.
I'd call support at 800-945-9120 and see if they can indentify the issue and give you a resolution.

Adobe Activation Issue on Windows 7

I am trying to run Adobe Photoshop CS2 on Windows 7. I ran the install .exe file in compatibility mode and run the photoshop.exe file in compatibility mode as well. After the installation is complete, I can open Imageready with no issue, but cannot use any of the features since CS2 is not activated. When I try to open Photoshop I receive the following error:

Sorry, a serious error has been detected. To continue using Adobe Photoshop, please reinstall the application.
I have gone as far as uninstalling all of my Adobe products and removing the user preferences and then installing CS2 first, to no avail. I would like to activate my product but the window to allow me will never open.

Given your wording, I'm not sure you understand that UAC causes you to run applications without privileges, even though your account may be a member of the Administrators group.
Have you tried running Photoshop "As Administrator"?
Also, it seems to me Marian Driscoll has been saying that one of the versions of Photoshop - possibly Photoshop CS2 - might need to be installed with a forced short folder name. Maybe she'll respond on here and confirm that.

Adobe 9 issues with forms in Acrobat Reader 7

I've been reading up on this forum as to why the adobe rights are disabled after a user saves their data in Reader. I have been adding form fields in Adobe Standard 9 then save the file, test it in Reader, then Extend the Forms Fill-In for Adobe Reader and save the file with a slightly different name. The only usage rights that are allowed is to Save Form Data. When I test the file in Reader 7, I can save the data but when I go into the document to make sure my data is there, I get that dreaded and popular message "Adobe Rights have changed and are no longer valid dialog box...
I never changed the original extended file to cause this..even when I don't add data but save to a new file anyway I lose the writable functionality.
A side note, I do not use LiveCycle and have been asked not to when creating these forms.
I did not have any problems with the forms that I had other people create and extend in Adobe Pro 8. It seems to be a Standard 9 and Pro 9 problem. Or, it could very well be me!
I use Reader 7 to test because these forms are for a volunteer organization and there are users on some early versions of Reader. II do not use earlier versions of Reader. This doesn't seem to be an issue in Reader 9. I cannot vouch for Reader 8.
I just had one of my form writers take my form that was done in Standard 9 and Extend Forms Fill-In via Adobe Pro 8. She initally received a message stating that the file appears to use a new format and it may not open or display correctly. I then got that same message when opening the extended version of the file. The document rights on the new form allow me to add comments and markup, a digital signature and save form data. Once I fill out the fields and try to save, also get another dialog box telling me that I need Adobe Standard or Professional to save (in this case it was 7 since I'm testing in Reader 7).
The forms that I am creating are initally PDFed by another party. The orignal forms are created in QuarkXpress 4.1 and PDFed using Acrobat Distiller 4.0 for Macintosh. I retrieve the files from a web site and save them to my hard drive to work on them. They are shared via email.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've spent the last week researching but no anwers to help me solve this particular issue with 9.

Interesting. I did just do the Reduce File Size and extended the document and there were no dialog boxes when I saved my data. The file size got larger instead of smaller and I received the message at the end of the Reduce File Size cycle that said " Enforcement of compatability to an earlier version of Acrobat has increased the size of some images". There is an image in the file, not one that I added, but from the original document. No change to the image either. No biggie to me. As long as my users can fill out the form and come back to it later to make changes, I'm happy!
