Adobe Hasn't Sent Promised Serial Number

Adobe sent a cross platform CS4 for my Mac without a serial number.   The trial version I was forced to install expired technically a week ago.  Adobe says you have to get a serial number from Customer Service, but Customer Service in India says they have to turn the order into another department, and that they can't help me.  Customer Service in India promised the serial number at the latest by July 14th, four days ago.  I can really use suggestions!!

Here's a story for you:
Last year, as some of you may remember, I had occasion to ask Adobe for my money back within the allowed 30-day period for a copy of Photoshop Elements I had bought in a moment of temporary insanity.  After countless, polite phone calls, faxes and emails to Adobe Customer Service, I was still getting the runaround from Adobe for weeks and weeks.
Then I lost my patience and fired off the first of two very angry emails, in the first one of which I limited myself to telling them "you are an impenetrable den of thieves!"
That one generated yet another runaround-copout type of email response from Adobe, so I finally wrote something to this effect: "OK, you thugs, you keep your göd-d@mned money, you apparently need it more than I do, perhaps to pay those poor people you shamelessly exploit in Pune, Mumbai, Calcutta or New Dheli!" 
Within 48 hours I had a call from a Customer Consultant for Adobe in Canada (I'm in California) who promptly arranged for me to get my refund.  Evidently the outsourcing of customer service to India is a very sore point PR point with some corporations, not just Adobe.
So, unfortunately, patience and politeness don't always work.  But straightforwardness did.

    You have to just sign in with your Adobe Id during the installation process and it will validate your subscription from the activation server. Once your Id is validated then your subscription will be activated. You don't need serial number to activate subscription.

    Remember: You will receive a replacement unit approximately 6 weeks after Apple gets your current iPod nano

    Could you please let me know what error prompts on your screen when you are trying to enter the serial number.
    Have you bought subscription for Acrobat, if yes then you might need to sign in at "adobe.com" using your Adobe ID credentials to activate subscription.

    I presume it is a mac serial number, because i have only ever used it on iMacs. I have transferred the software to several different Mac's over the past 7 or 8 years, but this is the first time I have not had the serial number recognised. The serial number is on the back of the box, which contains 3 CD's for Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard.

    Make sure you have 24 digits serial. also let me know if you have installed the product from creative cloud app, if it is installed through creative cloud app you will get invalid serial number error

    Enough said.  I don't know if I already received an email however may've accidentally deleted it or something, but I still don't know what to do. I can't do anything anymore because iTunes is not accepting the serial number anymore.

    Just wait a few more days.  Apple has been hammered by the number of replacement requests, so they are a little low on supplies at the moment.

    See below my first 'ANGRY' support message I sent and their replies - actually this offer tipped me to buy this laptop instead of another one and I did contact SONY several times and they pretended not to understand and in their website is stated and listed as 'included programs'.
    It is a trick to make customers buy their product? Sometime ago offers were 'real' offers.
    IS THIS EVEN LEGAL ? A purchase is a contacrt the buyer/the sellers and its suppliers (Adobe!)
    Next time, it will be a Toshiba (again!) - it has lasted me 5 years or had labour and it still is going - it stillis working and on Linux this time!

    1. register them and I cannot since your program only show 5 groups of digits instead of the 6 needed!
    2. I wish to install Linux on this computer, but I cannot install PSE7 and Adobe Premiere E 7 without a licence!
    Which should have been part of my purchase.
    I feel I have been robbed.
    As soon as you run it, your programs connects and show us the 'called option' to purchase upgrade to version 8 - are you trying to make us pay twice for the same programs?
    What is the solution here? I spent hunfdreds of  £££ during the years 'macromedia too to get treated like this?

    The drag the file back to etc folder and replace it with original hosts file.. ( open hosts once again and confirm there are no adobe entries.

    You may visit www.adobe.com/go/edu-validate and select the option contact us. From there you will be asked to provide your information such as your product code and the email address initially used to request for serial number. After you complete the form your request will be sent to your email.

    Trying to install my Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard on a new computer.
    I followed the instructions to deactivate the licence on the old computer and documented my serial number (out of the REGISTRY). I also got the message, that the deactivation was successful.
    When I now try to install the software on the new computer, this fails with a message that the serial number is invalid (but I checked serveral times for typing errors).
    Any help?

    What is in the registry is not necessarily the serial number. If you registered the software, you can find the serial number under your account on the Adobe website.

    Check with Customer Care. They may allow you to activate the upgrade using the Challenge Code method.
    Apparently, Adobe has a challenge code system.  So, if you have the old serial number from the upgrade and you call customer support.  Customer support has a challenge code procedure where they give you a code that overrides the problem.  Unfortunately, it took me 5 calls to customer support before I found someone who knew how to do it.  The key term is "Challenge Code"
