Adobe Help 4.0.244 - disable update during silent installation

Hello
I am looking for swichtes to disable updates in silent installation mode. I have just discovery that application store file settings in appdata folder and I need to change contentUpdateAvailable=false. But I want to make apply this setting during silent installation..There is any available option?
For now I prepering active setup solution but this is not perfect

Registration of Dreamweaver CS3 during silent installation

Hi All,
I need to do packaging of Dreamweaver CS3 and i have to deploy in 100 of machine...
and i need a silent installation.
so first i created two xml file by --record=1 option. install.xml and remove.xml
and i created application.xml.override and put it into driver folder as it is mentioned in the document...
Now installation and uninstallation is working fine...
//setup.exe --mode=silent deploymentFile=//install.xml
but peoblem is after deploying in 100 nachine it is asking for registaration...although i mentioned the serial key in the application.xml.override file
How to register this software during silent installation....
so that it will not ask for every machine....

Adobe Help Manager won't complete update

Several updates to apply in Adobe Help Manager, yet selecting "update" when it asks me, or even just updating a single module, doesn't complete. It just sits there on the "Please wait" dialog box. How can I reset the help manager or kick it out of this "stuck" state?

This has been happening for a while, persistent across reboots. Rebooting doesn't help.

How to disable Updates for adobe bridge in photoshopCS6

I was able to grey out the adobe photoshop updates in help menu. using the preferences file under
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\
But the adobe bridge which is present with in photoshop, "Help"->"update" option is not greyed out and thows error "unable to update, you do not have internet connection or you are not an system administrator". Same is the case with AAMEE configuration.
But if I delete this preference file, then I can launch it. Here my requirement is to grey our the update option both in photoshop and bridge as this will be deployed enterprise wide. Help me out how I can do this?

See if this helps (as taken from Adobe helpx http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/disable-update-manager-administrators-cs3.html. Looks like CS3 & CS4, I know. But worth giving a shot:
On Windows XP or Windows Vista
      Using Regedit.exe, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe
      Create a new key in this folder named "Updater"
      Create a new DWORD value within this key named "Enterprise with a value of "1"
Also, try one or both of these:
HKLM\Software\Adobe\Updater - Create a DWORD named 'Enterprise' with value '1'.
HKCU\Software\Adobe\Updater - Create a DWORD named 'Enterprise' with value '1'.
HKLM - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKCU - HKEY_CURRENT_USER
(I'm sure you're aware of this, but for other users who visit this thread for similar issue - this will help!)

Is there any way to disable TRIM during installation?

I have a ThinkPad T43, which due to its unorthodox setup for IDE drives (Internal SATA converted to IDE) doesn't work too well with IDE to mSATA adapters. They work fine until you try to use TRIM. Then, you just get a bunch of read errors because of the limitations in converting SATA to IDE to SATA. This means that I can't install without the system giving me read errors. Is there a way to disable TRIM during the installation so that I don't have to install Arch on a hard drive and somehow get it onto the SSD without the SSD freezing up?

Could this be related to mkfs' default to discard? From the man

subsequent read after the discard and before write

Do not attempt to discard blocks at mkfs time.
You should try with -E nodiscard, see if it helps

Silent installation and adobe air message

Certificate Trust (Pinning) disabled after silent installation

When we install EMET 4.1 (MSIEXEC.exe /qb!- /i "EMET Setup.msi" ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS) and import te Popular Software.xml and CertTrust.xml settings with EMET_Conf.exe the Quick Profile Name is set to custom Security setting and the
Certificate Trust (Pinning) option is disabled. The import of the CertTrust.xml worked because the pinning rules en protected websites are visible.
How can we use the Recommended Security Settings and enable the Certificate Trust (Pinning) option after installation? I tried to use a Group Policy but there are no group policy settings for the Certificate Trust (Pinning) option.
Has someone else experienced this and how cal we solve this?

The Group Policy settings for EMET 5.0 look the same as those for EMET 4.1. The 'problem' that is the system mitigation Certificate Trust (Pinning) is disabled after a silent installation is not (yet) fixed in EMET 5.0 technical preview. On the other hand
I found out that "EMET_CONF.exe --system Pinning=Enbled" enables the system mitigation Certificate Trust (Pinning). The Quick Profile Name remains set to custom Security setting but I guess that's the settings are te same as Recommended Security Settings.

Adobe Bridge CS4 pops error when Update Option from Help is launched

when i m trying to Launch the Update from the help menu of Adobe Bridge it pops-up with a error messge instead of launching update.
The error says
Adobe Bridge
Bridge is not in a position to check for updates.
The cause of the error may lie in the fact that an Internet connection can be established or that you are logged in as a user without administrator privileges.

Please help what is the probable cause for this.
I have tried disabling the updateoption by
1) Adding the Enterprise DWORD value in registry HKLM\Software\Adobe\Updater
2) Adding the "Update" "Suppress" value in "Application.XML.Override" file while installing the CS4 Suite

Apologies I dont think I had made myself clear.
I am trying to package Adobe Photoshop CS4 which has Adobe Bridge as a component. As per the company standards, I am suppossed to be deploying this package & installing it using silent setup. Since this is a corporate environment, they do not want any auto updates to be enabled, as well as disable all menu items related to updates. Hence I had checked through the Adobe Support Site and followed the instructions provided by using the Adobe Deployment Toolkit and supressed the updates using the tool.
Inspite of following the steps mentioned in the Deployment Kit and the guides associated with it, I was unable to supress the Updates options that reflects under Help Menu for Adobe Bridge CS4. All the other associated programs like photoshop, Extend Scripts etc the updates are disabled. The problem seems to be only with the Adobe Bridge Update.
I have also tried disabling the update option by

Inspite of trying the above steps the update option in the menu is still enabled and when I click on the updates menu item I get the following error message.

Adobe Reader X: Automatic update issue when after "FeatureLockDown set to disable Updater"

Background:
Have product installed on user PC "ProductName: Adobe Reader X (10.1.4) MUI", in way disabled the automatic updates under FeatureLockDown set to disable Updater. However, user still getting prompting updates message to invoking and install the updates, this NOT been expected as per our requirement.
Analysis points:
1.ARM Service is running as automatic mode
2.AdobeARM.log shows
Adobe ARM 1.6.5.0 logging started.
Command Line:
ProductCode: {AC76BA86-7AD7-FFFF-7B44-AA0000000001}
ProductName: Adobe Reader X (10.1.4) MUI
ProductVersion: 10.1.4

Admin User, IsElevated returns 1

Moreover, this update is experiencing repeatedly.
Need root cause and please suggest solution ?

Solved it!
1-go to "edit", select Preferences.
2-select from the left pane: Security (enhanced)
3-click on "add folder path" button just below the big white box
4-pick a folder of your choice and click "ok". (your selected folder path will appear in that white box above the "add folder path" button in step 3)
5-if you want to add additional folders, just repeat steps 3 & 4
6-once you are done, click "ok" on the preferences screen and click "ok" again to accept the changes.
Yes, it seems illogical, but it worked.
I tested by closing the Reader (X), then surfed the web and did what Neher5 was explaining he/she wanted to do just after opening a pdf from a website and lo-and-behold, it worked!. No more "save to temp folder" issues.

How to disable "Update to Adobe ReaderX!" popup on terminal server

We have one of our clients on a Citrix farm that utilizes 3 Windows 2003 terminal servers. I keep Adobe Reader patched manually, and it's currently at 9.4.5. My "problem" is that my users get nagging popups from Adobe asking if they want to update to X. Is there any way to disabled this? Google hasn't been much help, although I was able to disabled Adobe Reader 9.0 updater with a registry key, it seems like this popup is of a different nature. Or, will disabling Updater (HKLM\Software\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\FeatureLockDown\bUpdater:0), also disable these popups? Thanks!

1. setting bUpdater DWORD value to 0 in registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\FeatureLockDown
Notes:
a. this will disable Adobe Acrobat\Reader Updater
b. on 64bit systems you may have to try to set bUpdater in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\FeatureLockDown
2. setting iReaderMajorVersionUpdateDialogDoNotShowAgain DWORD value to 1 in the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\AVAlert\cCheckbox

Updating Adobe Help in PSE9

Each time i try to use Adobe Help I get a message that a new version (3.5.0) is available. When trying to download it is not possible with referencré to Error 16800. What does that mean? I would like a link to where to find the reason instead if just a number, that does not say anything. Anyone having an idea of what this secret number means?

Sorry, I couldn't decide whether to start a new topic or not. The Subject is generic enough to cover my problem, so I piggybacked onto the original post.
I'm trying to update Adobe Help (CS6) on OS X. Content downloads, but then the progress bar just runs forever (It's been an hour so far.) as the app "extracts and integrates" the help documents. It's hard to tell what exactly Help is doing, since the progress bar either runs or doesn't...ie., it doesn't actually show progress. Help hasn't hung/frozen, but what, if anything, it's doing is beyond me. If I quit Help, the next time I start it, it shows the same docs "pending integration".
