Adobe Help does not open

I just installed Photoshop CS5 (running on Windows Vista) and wanted to find help on getting it to recognize my scanner's native interface instead of WIA. But when I clicked on HELP and PHOTOSHOP HELP the cursor spun in a little circle and then stopped and nothing happened. So I clicked on HELP and then PHOTOSHOP SUPPORT CENTER -- same thing: spin and then nothing. So I then went outside Photoshop toe my START / ALL PROGAMS and tried to start ADOBE HELP from there -- same thing. I then went back to the Photoshop Elements 8.0 copy that I have and tried to open HELP from there -- same thing.
Adobe Help is seriously fouled up since I installed Photoshop CS5. How do I get Adobe Help to work?

I uninstalled Adobe Help (had to use Task Manager to shut it down, since it was actually running but not displaying anything), and I then reinstalled Adobe Help, and everything is working now.

The first time you try to open it, it could take a minute or so, but if you have waited 10 minutes and gotten nothing, then there is a problem.

Adobe Reader does not open any PDF when double clicked/hit enter once.

Adobe Reader 11 does not open when I double click/hit enter on a PDF document. I need to hit enter multiple times to open a document once. This ends up creating multiple AcroRd32.exe.
It's very annoying that I need to hit enter multiple times even to open a single PDF file.
This is how my task manager looks, even after closing any opened PDF file.
I've tried re-installing adobe reader multiple times, but same issue recurs again and again.

It worked. I don't see why the Protected Mode is enabled in the first place, if it were to cause issues.

I am a cloud subscriber also. No message. Nothing. Just does not open. I have seen the discussions and have taken out files, reinstalled... Thanks.

What files did you "take out"?
Was AIR uninstalled and reinstalled? Or just Muse?
What new software or utilities have been installed since you last ran Muse successfully?

Adobe Reader does not open weblinks in document.

We have several PDF brohures for our marketing material and all of them have weblinks added to the documents.
When I click on these links in Adobe Reader, it does not respond and does not recognise it as a weblink. However, opening the same document in other reader programs, it opens the weblink immediately with no problems.
Could this be a flaw in the software or not? Most of my clients have Adobe Reader to view their PDF's and they complain that they can not open the weblinks.
Please assist with this issue.

Are these links (example: http://www.mysite.com) or are they hyperlinks?
If the links are spelled out, the could have "Create links from URLs" unchecked in Preferences>General>Basic tools.
If they are hyperlinks, how were they created? How was the PDF (and by what application) created?

Adobe Reader does not open any PDF when double clicked

I am using a Mac with Yosemite. When I double click a PDF to open it, it will not open. The only way it will open is right clik PDF/Open With/Applications/Adobe Reader app. or right click PDF/Quick Look. Thanks funnnyfarm

Adobe illustrator does not open files after install on windows

after installing ai on a second pc, the program opens, but when trying to open a file, i get an error message saying...."does not function anymore" (translated from german into english)
I am logged in in cc, closed ai on the mac so only one program is (should) be running.

Adobe reader does not open usage right enabled files in Ubntu 8.0.4

I have a series of pdf files with the usage right enabled in adobe acrobat.
When I try to open them in linux Ubuntu 8.0.4 the adobe windows flashes for a second and the disappears. I tried to run the command in a terminal but it doesn't give me any error or warning message. I am just wondering if any one else has been able to resolve this issue.

We have tried using the file you sent on multiple linux distributions with Linux Reader 8.1.2 but we're not able to replicate the issue you're facing. We've tried on Ubuntu 8.04 as well and haven't seen any issues.
Could you share more information, includign the version of the reader youre' trying to use (you can see that at Help > About Adobe Reader).

After upgrade to Photoshop CC 2014 Adobe Bride does not open anymore

(File - search in Adobe Bridge) but the Adobe Creative Cloud opens and wants to intall the prior Bridge version. Mini Bridge doesn't work either.
From LR - PS doesn't open either (right click in LR and open in PS only open PS but not the photo itself).
All programs are up to date, I'm running Win7 Pro.
Any ideas?

I cannot open a pdf link. It asks for End User Agreement, even though I have signed it

What is your operating system? Reader version?
Is that original document local or online? If online, in what browser?
And that link points to where: a local or online PDF?
Can you actually open Adobe Reader by itself?

Adobe reader does not open Elements 9 does

I don't know what happens but the last few days When I try to open a PDF, Photoshop elements opens instead. I have installed the latest versions of both Elements and Adobe but it continues to open Elements. I don't know where to look.
Any suggestions?

Latest version Adobe Muse does not open

I get the error (see picture) I have installed a clean version of Adobe Air, a new version of Muse, restarted the computer and still get this.
Can someone help I am working on a site at this moment and I need to use Muse.

In case others run into this problem:
One of the folders Muse needs to write to become read-only. To fix on a mac:
In the finder, select Go->Go To Folder, and enter "~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.3/" (Without the quotes, including the tilde). Once there, click on File->Get Info, which brings up the info dialog. At the very bottom is a section called "Sharing & Permissions" - click the turn-down to view the section. There should be a table of users and privileges, so make sure that your user is listed. If it is listed, make sure that the privileges are set to "Read & Write". If it isn't listed, click on the little plus button, and add your user. Then set privileges to "Read and Write" as above. Once that is done, take the same steps on the "Local Store" folder that is inside the AdobeMuseCC2014.3 folder.
On Windows, paste "%appdata%/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.3/Local Store" into an Explorer window. Right-click, and select Properties. In the properties window, make sure the "Read-Only" checkbox is unchecked. Then, go to the security tab, make sure your profile is in the "Group or user names" section and that when your username is highlighted that "Full control" is checked in the lower window. Do the same for the "Local Store" folder here as well.
Once these permissions are set, this problem should be resolved.

I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended and Bridge does not open. Help?

I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended on MAC and Bridge does not open. It did open when I first downloaded it - but now a black question mark is over the BR icon and it does not open up. Any ideas from anyone?

I just thought it was interesting and helpful to me to learn that the icon for Bridge does not appear anywhere. Not in Application Folder. Not in the Finders Directory Files. I see your point - if I could locate that icon - I'd be set by dragging it onto my DOCK and launching it from there.
So - I'm assuming I need to uninstall CS6. Please list all the steps for me to uninstall so that I don't miss any CS6 files.
When I search in FINDER for CS6 uninstall- I see two icons - red adobe "UNINSTALL ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6" (both files are identical) Under KIND they both say Alias - with two different dates they were last opened (in November - few minutes apart). Is that what I use to uninstall completely all the files related to PS CS6 Extended as well as Bridge?
Do I need to DEACTIVATE ANYTHING ANYWHERE?
DOES ANYTHING NEED TO GO INTO TRASH.
I just want to make sure 'everything' related to CS6 Extended is off my computer and out of all the files. In the event i want to re-install - naturally I don't want to run into any conflicting 'issues'.
Do you think if I reinstall I will run into this same problem again (BR not launching)? Is there anything I can do to prevent it? I note on the forums - going a few years back - that there have been a lot of issues related to this same problem - even in other versions of the Creative Suite. Is Adobe doing anything to rectify this problem for us Photoshop CS Suite lovers or is all their focus just going into CC?
Thank you so much for trying to help me resolve this issue. It is very frustrating to have an Adobe product that is not completely functional. Especially when the Creative Suites are so expensive. I appreciate all the time you've put into this issue.
