-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--*-100-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1
Hi!
I have the following installed font in the solaris environment and I want to use it in my Swing application. (1.4.2.)
-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal---100----*-iso8859-1
I listed all available fonts from java, but I do not find the above one. Do somebody know how can I install it under java?
regards,
eha

In what directory is "-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--*-120-*-*-*-*-*-*" font?
It is in I think the xorg-fonts-100dpi package or the 75 dpi one... I use to get that message with flux and the style I use...

Adobe Naskh Medium Font is missing
Hey there! I reinstalled Photoshop after a fresh installation of Windows 7. Unfortunately all Adobe Fonts are missing. I'm specifically searching for the Adobe Naskh Medium font as the contract for my weddingphotohraphy is written in this font.
Where can I download those missing font? Is this even possible? What could be the error?Without knowing exactly what fonts and how the file was created we can't tell you much. Fonts have variants and versions just like anyone else and if someone e.g. uses an old TrueType or PostScript font and not an OpenType font substitution will be almost inevitable. Just the same things like faux bold and italic can cause unwanted font substitutions as can many other things like different language settings...

Error message: Helvetica Medium outline font missing when creating PDF's
Error message: Helvetica Medium outline font missing when creating PDF's. Where can I downlaod it and why is it suddenly happening?
OS? Version of ID?
This means that either you have an extra Helvetica Medium font installed and it's interfering with ID finding the T1 version, or the T1 version is damaged. I found this really old thread that explains it fairly well: http://www.asadesigner.com/22-indesign/2d812de56777cc90.htm
The good news is that it's probably only affecting the page information marks. -
Are Helvetica Regular and Helvetica Medium the same font?
We have just added a new computer to our workgroup, and it is using Windows 7. We removed all of our software from the old computer (which was running Windows XP Pro) and installed it on the new computer (this includes InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop). We are finding that when we open documents on this new computer that is says the font is missing from any document using Helvetica Medium. Helvetica Regular is available, though. Are these just two names for the same font? Most of our work is in Helvetica and if we change fonts at all, we will have to reproof all of it...which would mean HOURS of work for us. Any help or information would be very appreciated!
GSNo, they are different. Medium has a heavier stroke (see below).

Adobe Digital Editions in Normal User
Hello All
I have been working on repackaging the Adobe Digital Editions. I captured the package and it works well. Apart from one little problem. The Normal User cannot download files/ebooks on the Adobe Digital Editions free library. User with Administrative privileges can download the files as desired. I am confused if this is an issue related to the permissions to be provided in users. The application is to deployed in a customer location and it is not recommended to give administrative rights to normal users. I tried provided rights to the certain folder and regsitries using Process Monitor but to no avail.
So i need to know if any of you guys have come across a situation like this. Time is ticking so a prompt reply would be highly appreciated.
Many Thanks in anticipation

Adobe flash player safari processor +100%?
Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the use of adobe flash player with safari: how is it that the processor runs at more than one hundred percent when using flash player? I do not understand why the problem is still not solved after all this time. I naively thought that moving from snow leopard mountain lion was going to change something, but no. My macbook pro i7 heaters lot when I watch a streaming video using adobe. Does someone can explain to me why this situation exists?

All of a sudden I have a magnified screen but I just want normal 100% size. HELP
How do you adjust font size - I have a magnified screen for no reason.
To reset the zoom level, try
Ctrl+0 (''that's a zero'') or
View menu > Zoom > Reset
Does that make any difference?
If everything is magnified -- the page, the toolbars, Windows icons, etc. -- try this: close Firefox and right-click the shortcut (e.g., on the desktop or quick launch, whatever is relevant), choose Properties, then the Compatibility tab. Clear any settings/checkboxes there. Then restart Firefox. Does that help? -
[SOLVED] Help: My fonts probably got messed up
Hi,
I'm on a fully updated Arch-X86_64/KDE system.
After working flawlessly in the past, I can't use Efax-gtk anymore as I get errors similar to this one:
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-Helvetica-Medium-R-Normal--*-140-*-*-P-*-ISO8859-1"
to type FontStruct
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-Helvetica-Medium-R-Normal--*-120-*-*-P-*-ISO8859-1"
to type FontStruct
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-Helvetica-Medium-R-Normal--*-100-*-*-P-*-ISO8859-1"
to type FontStruct
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-Helvetica-Bold-R-Normal--*-120-*-*-P-*-ISO8859-1"
to type FontStruct
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-Helvetica
Since the last time I've successfully used Efax-gtk I've installed several fonts (mainly TTF) from AUR, and I guess, something got wrong.
Below please find several respective terminal outputs.
Please advise.
Thanks
Regards,
Michael Badt

Long answer:
I don't have efax-gtk installed. The efax program is looking for a font using the old XLFD system of font names. The fontconfig methods for checking fonts may not be useful to determine where the problem lies. The program xlsfonts, from 'extra/xorg-xlsfonts', is needed to search for a match to the font name.
I have a Helvetica font installed, your results may be different or you may have no results from xlsfonts.
$ # Find the font names that match.
$ xlsfonts -fn "-*-Helvetica-Medium-R-Normal--*-140-*-*-P-*-ISO8859-1"
-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--14-140-75-75-p-77-iso8859-1
-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--19-140-100-100-p-0-iso8859-1
-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--19-140-100-100-p-0-iso8859-1
-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--20-140-100-100-p-100-iso8859-1
$ # Find the directories and one of the files for the fonts named above.
$ grep -r -m1 '\-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal' /usr/share/fonts/**/fonts.dir
/usr/share/fonts/100dpi/fonts.dir:helvR08-ISO8859-1.pcf.gz -adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--11-80-100-100-p-56-iso8859-1

$ # Find the packages containing the files.
$ pkgfile helvR08-ISO8859-1.pcf.gz

Barcodes in PDF files - not working.
So, I wanted to open a PDF file which contains a barcode, and the barcode doesn't display at all in readers such as Okular, Evince, Qpdfview. It displays in Adobe Reader, but I don't like Adobe Reader.
The barcode is visible on other linux distros.
Poppler is installed and updated to the latest version. ttf-free3of9 is installed.
How can I fix it?Okular doesn't complain.
Xpdf does:

Problem running xfce4 with xdm
G'day,
I'm trying to get xdm happening but I'm having some problems.
After searching the forums I created a ~/.xsession file with the same content as my working ~.xinitrc and changed the runtime in inittab.
After rebooting login in xdm doesn't work. I just keep returning to the login screen.
Checking out my ~/.xsession-errors file, I have
/home/mctavish/.xsession: line 5: exec: startxfce4: not found
It works if I use the full path - but then of course falls down when startxfce4 tries to call xfwm4 and so on. So it looks like a path problem.
I know that the /opt/xfce4/bin path is setup in /etc/profile.d/xfce4.sh, which is called from /etc/profile.
Note too that I have never had any problems using startx to get xfce4 up and running.
So it seems to me that somehow /etc/profile is not being called (or whatever) when I use xdm. Is this crazy talk? In fact /etc/profile is not executable, so how it normally run and from where?
Of course I could just use gdm but the pain of having all those unnecessary gnomish packages on my system would be unbearable.Try this /etc/X11/xdm/Xresources

What's with the version number mess?
So, 10gR3 = 10.3.0 11gR1 = 10.3.x, where x >=1 (so 10.3.1, 10.3.2, 10.3.3 are all considered "11gR1") Correct? And in the future, 11gR2 will probably be 10.4.x, only starting with with x=0 ? Also, does "Patch Set x" apply to WebLogic server or is it
