Adobe ID login will not work with Mozilla SeaMonkey

Having not logged in for many years it came as no surprise to find I had forgotten my password. But it turned out more complicated, Using my favourite browser from Mozilla SeaMonkey I could not get past the "reset password".. or subsequently log in. I get a file sent to me called create_account.do or login.do and SeaMonkey does not know what to do with this..
I appreciate that this section of the forum does not deal with the workings of the Adobe forum web site, but perhaps.. as this forum is sort of related to browser compatibility.. this problem could be passed on to higher authorities by someone..

I use Mozilla Firefox as my default browser.  But some parts of the Adobe site don't perform as well as they should with ad blocking and other add-ons enabled.
My first suggestion is to disable ad blocking and any other optional add-ons you may have working in Sea Monkey.
My second and only other suggestion is to switch to Google's Chrome browser.  When the going gets tough, Chrome usually works when all the other browser don't.

    My Adobe Reader 9.xxx was replaced with Active X, which will not work for me.  I keep getting a box message that says perhaps the Adobe.com site is too busy at the tine.  I would rather have my Adobe reader 9.xxxxx back as it worked very well for me.  I have it on my other computer and it work fine.  I am using Windows 7.   Any suggestions?

    From what I understand from this message, it would seem that your Reader passed from "not working" to "now working", whatever you may mean by these two expressions. I am glad.
    May I suggest that next time you have a question, please try to state it clearly and also give enough and accurate details about your problem?
    It would also be useful if you coud mark this question as Answered.

    It switches to the Classic view but not the new view which I really like.... My laptop has Google Chrome and it has not problems with this new view of Windstream only with Mozilla Firefox 5, the other version never had any problems either...I had 3 and had no problems till I up graded....

    The longer this thread continues, the more ancillary comments you throw in that aren't directly pertinent to your problem with your DVR software not working with Firefox 4.0. Sorry, I don't intend to continue with this discussion.
    I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is.

  • Adobe Flash Player Will Not Work with Safari Mac OS 10.9.2

    I have tried numerous times to install Adobe Flash Player for Mac OS 10.9 and get Plug-in error when I try to run it.  Before the suggested update, Flash Player ran fine.  I would not have tried the update except the files on the web site that I am usinf had a symnbol statiing that the later version of Flash Player was required for it to run. 
    I did what Adobe suggested and removed the plug-in and then reinstalled it. Still does not work.  When is Adobe going to fix it?   I think it was not well researched before the release, and it definately has compatibility issues with Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks

    Thanks for the quick response.  It worked OK after I did this, and I alerted other users in my MUG just in case they have a similar aged Macs.  I hope that the fix for this will be automatic in the next update.

    Why is it that I must pay more money to upgrade my Adobe software so that it will work with Apple Mac OS Mountain Lion. Is it that Adobe wants to wring every cent out of me in order for me to use there products? Or should I just delete the Adobe software from my system and forget about Adobe and find something else?

    The largest issue which is preventing you from utilizing Creative Suite 2 on your current computer is the switch which was made from PowerPC processors to Intel processors.  This coupled with Apple dropping Rosetta support, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosetta_(software), which previously allowed Intel processors to utilize applications coded for PowerPC processors is the main cause of Creative Suite 2 no longer functioning under newer operating systems.

    Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
    I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
    To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
    You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
    To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
