  • Adobe Ideas – Sync Process: Awaiting Connection

I've seen many issues with Adobe Ideas and it having syncing problems, but I can't find an actual answer other than "servers were messing up, better now," and people saying that helped.
I'm running Adobe Ideas on an iPad 2 Wi-Fi, running iOS 7.1.2.
When I open Adobe Ideas, the Cloud icon and the left and right arrows are white. less than a second later, the arrows gray out. When I click it, it says "Sync Process: Awaiting Connection."
If I turn the Wi-Fi off and back on and then revisit the app, it tells me that the sync process is complete.
I've tried to send to Illustrator, but I don't actually know what that means. I thought that might mean that it would send it to my CC files, but that didn't happen.
I downloaded Adobe Draw in hopes that I could import the files, but apparently the files have to be on Creative Cloud to begin with—kind of a ridiculous situation when one would assume that if you have both apps on one device, you could move files between them.
Any help on getting this to sync to CC would be appreciated.

It's a shame you haven't had a reply to your post. I am in exactly the same situation. I suspect support for Adobe Ideas might have been withdrawn to the point where Adobe would prefer not to acknowledge its continued existence. I can no longer find the app in the store, and am eternally thankful to still have the version prior to the most recent update, which apparently includes a reminder, each time it is opened, to migrate to Draw.
I think synching between Ideas and CC must have been disabled at source, sometime earlier this year. The last time it worked for me was in February.
I find Draw clunky and awkward, with a file system that is so untidy and badly organised it beggars belief. It's also impossible to export pdf files other than via a stiff monthly payment for Adobe software.
At the moment, although I can't synch to my creative cloud account, I can export  PDFs of my Ideas files by email, which is what I do. I keep all my files duplicated outside Ideas. Unfortunately, the folders I created on CC for my existing files, which were synched to my Ideas app, cannot now be added to, or even deleted, though they can be renamed.
I just wish I could somehow safeguard my version of Ideas so that I could transfer it to any future iPad I might buy.  It is so perfect for my needs I would pay for it ten times over if I had to rather than have to adapt to using the 'free' Draw.
I bought idraw  as I thought it might be a good alternative to Ideas. It has great file storage, and the priceless ability to import and export vector files, but I found it insanely complicated. I haven't mastered enough to do a simple line drawing yet.

  • Cannot connect to the cloud using Adobe Ideas

I've been through 2 (two) Adobe Technicians and neither of them could help me. One of them told me that Adobe Ideas wasn't meant to be used with an iPad.
I can email an illy from Ideas, but cannot connect to or see the Creative Cloud files.
Do I need additional software, Apps, or what?? Any ideas for Ideas?

i cannot browse the internet thru wifi using bb curve 9360..when i checked  my wifi settings it  says that im already connected but when im trying to browse it says cannot connect contact your service provider

  • Cannot sync: awaiting connection

    Hi there,
I'm having a very serious issue with Adobe Creative cloud.
I regularly do drawing and sync my files to CC. The last time I did this successfully was 7 days ago.
I tried 3 days ago, and got the message: awaiting connection. I left it for about 20 minutes - same issue.
So I figured I'd leave it from Monday until Thursday, do so more work and try again. But it still stuck on 'awaiting connection'!
I don't have any complex file names : they are all 'untitled-n'.
I tried signing out and signing in again.
Please help me or I can't continue using the product.
If I sign in with a brand new user account, will it erase my current items in Adobe Ideas? That's all I can think of doing - setting up a new account and syncing all 50 files from scratch.
I don't want to lose my work!!!
Thanks - first persistent glitch in over a year.
FYI - I'm an IT guy so I've tried the obvious (make a tiny change to every file trying to sync, resave and try again, check wifi connection, etc.).

    Dear Frank,
    Thank you for your response.
I present to you four things I have tried (1-4), and four questions I need you to answer (A-D) for a working solution.
    I have tried:
    1. Leaving the 'awaiting connection' attempt for over 30 minutes (multiple times over the last few weeks). It shows no progress whatsoever. The files have not uploaded to my creative cloud account (I checked with my desktop computer's web browser).
    2. Turning the sync on and off again repeatedly (multiple times over the last few weeks) has had no effect. It always says 'awaiting connection' immediately.
    3. Signing out and signing back in repeatedly on my iPad.
    4.  your solution to "try renaming the file on creative.adobe.com".
Since I have drawn the file on my iPad, I have tried renaming the file on my iPad, but the sync still does not work. I cannot rename it on creative.adobe.com because the iPad is not syncing to it, so the files have yet to exist on the Cloud!
It just doesn't work, and is not a temporary glitch. It seems like it's a fundamental issue present on my iPad that started on a single day about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
So my questions to you are these - please help me retrieve my drawings. Please answer them A-D.
    A. There are lots of people with this same problem (https://forums.adobe.com/search.jspa?facet=content&type=discussion&q=awaiting+connection&s ort=relevanceDesc&place=%2Fplaces%2F1413052).
I found this thread particularly useful : https://forums.adobe.com/message/6322966#6322966
Here the user Jo Jacobs says:
"Same problem with iPad Mini, iPhone5 and MacbookPro Retina. No Files syncing from Adobe ideas. Tryed everything...
    Workaround:
You need Phoneview. Open it - choose "Apps" - click on "Show all Apps" - click on "Adobe Ideas"
    Than go to:
    Library/Private Documents/documents/data/files/
there you find folders with cryptic names
    Download one of the folders
    Open the Folder
select all files in the folder and zip them
Change the extension from .zip to .idea
    and voila
you can open it with Adobe Illustrator!
A long way, but for now the only solution to get the editable vector file on your computer.
    Nachricht geändert durch Jo Jacobs"
My question to you Frank, is that if I manage to extract the .idea files from my iPad, can I upload them to my creative cloud via my desktop computer's browser? It seems like my best route to reclaiming my work and getting it onto the Cloud.
    B. If I sign out of my CC account on the iPad, and register as a new user, will the iPad drawings sync to this new user account a fresh? I.e. are they permanent stored on that iPad, or will they disappear when I log in as a CC different user?
I haven't tried this because I am concerned if I register as a new user it will lose those unsynced drawings on my Ipad.
    C. If I remove Adobe ideas from my iPad and reinstall it, will it delete those files that have not synced (i.e. the drawings I made in the last two weeks since the sync stopped working)? If it will, then I daren't uninstall the app!
I haven't tried this because I am concerned that if I reinstall the app it will lose those unsynced drawings on my Ipad.
    D. If I remove Adobe ideas from my iPad and reinstall it, will the latest version of Adobe Ideas that is present on the App store work with my iPad's operating system? My current version numbers are:
    Adobe Ideas version 2.7.1 (43711)
    iPad ios 5.1.1 (9B206)
In the past I have tried an upgrading an app, only to find out that the latest version on the App store was incompatible with my ios, so I had uninstalled the program for nothing!
Thanks for answering questions A-D. I hope you can see why have asked them in that order.
It seems to me the safest course of action is to try answers A-D consecutively (provided that the latest version of Adobe ideas is compatible with my ios, which I need you to answer in question D).
Thanks again for your time. It's pretty shocking really! So much time into drawing, only to find the program has a bug that permanently breaks the sync ability - I just can't use it if I can't get those vector graphics off the iPad.

  • Adobe Ideas doesn't sync to Creative Cloud (browser)?

The files I have in Adobe Ideas on my iPad doesn't sync to Creative Cloud on my browser.
I have activated the sync function on the ipad and it says that the files are synced and I have used 1% (12mb of 2gb).
I go to creative.adobe.com and under Files it says 'The Folder Is Empty' - what can I do?
    Thank you

I hate to tell you, but I am yet one more user who cannot get Adobe Ideas files to sync to Creative Cloud.
I am using Adobe Ideas version 2.8.1 (52469) on an iPad3, using iOS 8.1. I have confirmed that I have a good wi-fi connections. I can access the web using all my other apps - Safari, Twitter, Feedly, etc.
When I try syncing files in Adobe Ideas, the Creative Cloud Files menu has "only sync when wi-fi is enabled" selected. Sync process shows "Awaiting connection." Storage level is 9% or 175MB of 2GB.
I downloaded the Creative Cloud app onto my Surface Pro tablet and checked to see if my Ideas files showed up there. I can see the files from Adobe Draw, Lines, Sketch, and other apps, but the Ideas files do not show up anywhere. I checked in both the mobile creations area and in the main files area.
I would like to migrate my Ideas files to Adobe Draw. Please let me know how I can get this done.
    I appreciate your help!

  • Will ink and slide ever be available to work with Adobe Ideas?

Or is there a way to make it work, it actually works well with Paper App by 53. I don't understand why it seems impossible to connect it to Adobe Ideas!

Ink should work with Adobe Ideas as a passive stylus.  In other words, it will allow you to draw and tap, but pressure sensitivity and palm rejection are not currently supported.  If Ideas is not recognizing Ink, make sure Ink is on by holding down the button until the LED turns on and goes through the rainbow sequence.
We are continuing to add Ink & Slide functionality to Adobe's mobile apps and will announce support as it becomes available.  Please stay tuned.  Thanks!

  • Adobe Ideas bypassing proxy

I'm using Adobe Ideas version 2.5 on an iPad 1. When on the corporate WLAN I cannot syncronise with Adobe's Creative Cloud.
From the porxy and firewall logs:
The device connects successfully via the proxy to the following addresses:
       adobemobile.112.2o7.net:443
       ims-na1.adoblogin.com:443
       creative.adobe.com:443
Obviously the application is aware of the proxy settings (setup in the iOS Settings), however it then tries and connects directly (not via the proxy) to the following addresses:
       46.51.250.153
       ec2-46-51-250-153.ap-northeast-1.compute.amazonaws.com
       176.34.52.71
       ec2-176-34-52-71.ap-northeast-1.compute.amazonaws.com
This direct access is dropped on the firewall.
Any thoughts on trying to get this sync happening? Thanks.

Contact Adobe Support for help with this one.

  • Adobe Ideas file sync problems

I'm using Adobe Ideas on a third Gen iPad with iOS 7
None of my files will sync to creative cloud. The sync process message simply alternates between 'awating connection', 'analysing' and complete but nothing happens to the files. The progress bar on each file remains grey.
I have a stable wifi connection
I have tried reloading the app and restarting the iPad
I have tried toggling snyc on and off
I have tried makign edits to files and creating new files to kick start the sync
    Nothing is working
I know others have had this problem in the past but I cannot find a solution anywhere on the forum that helps me.
    Thanks
    Owen

I'm so glad I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I wish I had a response to it. I'm on the phone with Adobe support right now about it. Have you found a fix since you posted this?

  • Adobe Ideas cocoa error 259

I've been working on a comic strip for a week and had come close to completion today. I lost track of time and my iPad battery died right in the middle of me working on my project in Adobe Ideas. After connecting my iPad to power and booting it up again; i launched the application to discover that my project no longer showed a thumbnail preview. Out of curiosity i tried to open the project and all it gave me was "ERROR Could not open the page. The operation couldn't be completed. (Cocoa error 259.)" I had tried to salvage the project from adobe ideas on my iphone, but was only able to successfully email a PDF of an older version of the project before the Cloud updated the project and overwrote it with the corrupted one. I've tried duplicating the project, changing the name of the project, logging out of creative cloud and signing back in; nothing seems to fix the issue. I did manage to log into creative cloud from my computer and download the .ideas document to my desktop. The document won't even open up in adobe Illustrator, it actually crashes the application in mid attempt. Someone from support, please tell me there's a solution or some way to salvage this file; its an important piece to a set that im working on. I've invested the majority of my day toward this and it disturbs me greatly that it was so easy to lose something like this through Creative Cloud. I do ALL of my illustration work on my iPad and would like to prevent this from accidentally happening again.
    Please Help

  • Adobe Ideas update available

Version 2.7.1 of Adobe Ideas is in the iTunes App Store. Along with some bug fixes and iOS7 compatibility, we've added support for Wacom's newest stylus.   Get the details here: http://adobe.ly/19BtbuS Get the update here: http://bit.ly/11QiKB8

That's correct. The iPad has no built in mechanism for pressure sensitivity and requires an Bluetooth-connected pressure sensitive pen such as the Pogo Connect to capture pressure information.

  • Adobe ideas and Adonit Jot Touch 4.0

    Hello,
Could we please get an update about IF and if so WHEN the Adonit Jot Touch 4.0 will be supported in Adobe Ideas?
    Thank you!
    Regards,

I too am wanting the Jot 4 stylus support.  I have bought both it and the POGO and have evaluated them both on my iPad and iPad-mini.
In general I prefer the Jot 4 a lot more as it has a much finer ponit and you can see right where you are touching the surface.  The Pogo tip is so big you can never see where you are touching.  That is all feedback for the Pogo team though.  I only meantion it becasue if you are going to support a device I think you would want to support the more functional of the two.  Hopefully you can support both in the long run.  Using Ideas is a great starting point for a lot of my work that I end up doing in AI and PS.  The folks at Jot 4 said they have provided you with the SDK for their device.
Another item on the Pogo is it really isn't functioning on the iPad mini.  They had to do some kind of work around, but you have to press really hard to get it to do a line.  It works ok on the iPad.
    So on to Ideas itself.
    Palm rejection:
One bug I notice is when you have palm rejection on you can still mark your work by point touching it.  say with your finger tip or knuckle.  Your pinkie knuckle in particular tends to touch your work a lot and it will leave a point spot.  I thought with palm rejection only your stylus would mark the work.
    Multi Touch:
Not being able to multi touch pan and zoom on the fly while you are using your stylus is not good at all.  Having to contantly select the palm button everytime to pan or zoom your work is so prohibitive that using the stylus in a connected mode is almost not worth it.  That and given the palm rejection doesn't really work either as pointed out above then the only advantage you are left with when using the stylus is line width pressure control, which is almost not worth it.  I find I end up turning it off just so I can work more productively.
    On the fly functions:
The on the fly functions would be a lot more functional if they were user defined.  I think more people would prefer an undo than say an opcacity control.
In the end I think you have created a great prodcut with Ideas and it opens up a lot of potential with hand drawn vector art, which is huge.
In the end I would hope you are able to get it on Android.
More to the point I hope you get it working with the Jot 4 stylus.  It is just so much more of an elegant and functional tool that gets the highest reviews and ratings of any device.

  • Problems with syncing  Adobe Ideas with Adobe Creative Cloud

    Dear Sir/Madam,
Since yesterday (22.04.2014) I have problems with syncing Adobe Ideas (in my iPad) with Adobe Creative Cloud.
Could you please help me with this issue?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
I do not understand why there is no professional communication about the problem. I get the impression that Adobe doesn't know that many people use their App as advertised: As a quick professional sketching tool that syncs with Creative Cloud. Not to fix the problem means more people not trusting the cloud idea. I am actually a big fan of the CC, mostly because of regular updates. But the mobile apps seem to fall out of the normal update scheme. Are they not as important as the 'main software'?
When will the bug be fixed? Just to make clear: As there - up to now - is no other way to get the original idea files on the computer the adobe idea app is useless unless you fix the problem and/ or include the possibility to sync files via USB.
    Meanwhile my Workaround:
You need Phoneview or another software that shows the files on your mobile device.
Open it - choose "Apps" - click on "Show all Apps" - click on "Adobe Ideas"
    Than go to:
    Library/Private Documents/documents/data/files/
there you find folders with cryptic names
    Download one of the folders
    Open the Folder
select all files in the folder and zip them
Change the extension from .zip to .idea
    and voila
you can open it with Adobe Illustrator!
A long way, but for now the only solution to get the editable vector file on your computer.
    Best regards
    Jo Jacobs

I must say about a year ago I looked at adobe ideas and said that it was a wast of resources and that it had no good use case. about 3 months ago I looked at it on a weekend away from my main computer. I had a need for drawing. I love this app. Please continue to develop it. It is amazing. I was worried because the iPad has no pressure sensitivity, but muse works around this and it is excellent. Can it be better? Absolutely, but it is great for such a young program. Please Keep developing it and promote it more. I love this app. Did I mention that I love this app. Eventually I will have samples at www.billmurphy.ca

  • How do I save drawings in adobe ideas to itunes? Using a ipad

i dont know how to do this. Im also using brushes I know its not adobe but i dont  know how to save using adobe ideas and in the brushes app.

Yes.  As I mentioned, I have tried a few things already.  Is there any way to get specific click by click instructions.  The difficulty is understanding what boxes to click on or off.  I've been in that menu, and tried a number of things but the rights in reader do not allow the user to add and save text.  DO you have a specific set of instructions to help solve this issue?

  • Using Adobe Ideas with Illustrator CS3

I am using Adobe Ideas in an iPhone.  I have Adobe Illustrator CS3 which won't open the idea file.  Do I need to update my version of Illustrator or is there some way to open the files with the version I have?  Also, are they vector or rastor files?

Hi!  You are correct, Adobe Illustrator CS3 will not open an Ideas file.  As a minimum, you will need Adobe Illustrator CS5, which also requires the Ideas/Illustrator plugin.  If you upgrade to Illustrator CS5, you need to download & install the Creative Cloud desktop application and then install the Touch Apps Plugins.
Alternatively, if you upgrade to the latest Adobe Illustrator, you should be able to open your Ideas files in it directly.
Let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions.
