Adobe Illustrator 13.0.2 won't install on Leopard?

Has anyone been able to get Illustrator 13.0.2 to install on leopard. It is the only CS3 upgrade I can't get to work.

after i upgraded to leopard ilustrator stop working, but with the 10.5.1 update it started working again, try that however if you have adobe design premium for some reason indesign has errors, and the setup quits for no apparent reason.

  • I can't watch YouTube videos on my brand new MacBook Pro with Lion. It says I need to download Adobe Flash Player but that won't install. Help!

I can't watch YouTube videos on my brand new MacBook Pro with Lion. It says I need to download Adobe Flash Player but that won't install. Help!

The same thing happens to me, Safari asks me to update the Adobe FlasPlayer, I download, start the installation process, ask me my username and password in order to install, then see a window where I choose if I want to always install the updates , or ask first, or not inslate updates, and at this point it is not progress, I can not cancel the process, I turn off and turn on my machine.
    What can I do ..??

  • Adobe PDF Writer (v5.0) won't install; can't find LPT1 port

I've searched extensively for an answer on this question, and the most common answer is no answer or use a newer PDF creator.
The department I support uses database software that was never programmed to support any PDF creator past PDF Writer, so all users of this software have Acrobat Professional 5.0.5 installed using the "Custom" option to include the PDF Writer.
All workstations run XP, sp3.  I have never seen this problem on any other machine.  I have installed version 5 on other machines with newer installations of Acrobat (7,8, and 9) with no functionality issues.  The machine that won't install the PDF Writer had V8 installed.  I have removed Acrobat V8 to try to get the V5 installation to run.  I have tried running the V5 installation first without PDF Writer, and then adding in the PDF Writer.
In all cases, as soon as you click "Install" after checking "PDF Writer", the error "Acrobat PDF Writer requires a LPT1: printer port.  Setup could not find this required port.  The PDF Writer component will not be installed.  To install PDF Writer, add a LPT1: port and run setup again" always appears, and the installation tries to continue without the PDF Writer.
This computer has a fully-functioning LPT1 port (as well as LPT2 and LPT3) which is not in use by any other printers (according to the printer properties display).  XP shows the port under Device Manager as functioning properly, although I have both disabled/re-enabled the port, as well as uninstalling it and rebooting, at which point it re-installs properly.
All high-priority Windows XP updates are current and again, on similar machines, similarly imaged, I have never had this problem using the same media.  I have tried installing a printer on this port and adding drivers.  All machine users have Administrator privileges (unfortunately)
Due to the large quantity of data and software on this user's machine (and the fact that otherwise it runs great), I would REALLY rather not re-image the machine.
Any help or ideas will be GREATLY appreciated.

Hey, good idea, and I hadn't done it, but nothing is remaining from any previous Acrobat installs (according to the Cleanup Utility).  I do pretty good registry cleanup on these machines as I work on them for other reasons/updates.
    Other ideas?

  • My Mac won't install Snow Leopard?

    Hello!
I own a 13" MacBook Pro, which I bought in 2010 (I think it's the mid/late 2009 model). It came with Snow Leopard.
When Lion OS X was launched, I downloaded it, and have been using it since then. To be honest, I've not liked it at all because it's a lot slower, and I don't really like all of this resumé business. I've only kept it because with University, i've not had much time to downgrade back to Snow Leopard.
But basically, I've got the time this week, and tried to install Snow Leopard yesterday - I tried this by inserting my original disks which came with my MacBook Pro, restarting the Mac, then pressing Option (Alt) to bring up the start-up disk stuff, and wiping the hardrive.
Yet, after wiping the hardrive, after asking it to start the Snow Leopard disc as the start-up disk, it wouldn't. The Apple logo loaded, the little loading wheel thing underneath it did, and it just stayed like that for ages - you could hear the disk spinning, then after about 5-10 minutes, the screen went black and I had to turn the laptop off.
It kept doing this so because I wiped the hardrive, my only option was to go to the Recovery disk and re-install Lion.
I'm thinking there could be a problem with the disc drive, but it works fine if i'm burning CDs/DVDs, or install software and that. So what is it that's wrong? Am I doing something that's wrong?
There's nothing wrong with the MacBook Pro discs because when I put them in the laptop when I've got Lion, it loads and asks if I wish to install Snow Leopard - of course though, it won't let me.
    Cheers.

  • Programs won't install after Leopard Upgrade

I did an upgrade install of Leopard from Panther. It went very smoothly with no problems. However, when I tried to install my new copy of iLife '08, the installer hung on "starting installation" progress bar after I clicked the Install button. I never got to the "Installing" part of the process. I had to Force Quit it after a while.
I tried installing several other non-iLife application packages and they hang at the same place. It seems like the Apple Installer has been corrupted, but I have no idea how to begin fixing it. Can anyone help?

I've been having problems running installer packages since putting Leopard on my G5. I'll click thru the installer windows to the point where the Install button shows up. When I click that, all I get is a spinning beachball. No error message, tho-- it just hangs, so I have to Force Quit it. This has happened with Flip4Mac and Logitech Control Center, and maybe others I'm forgetting. Not to every app I've tried to install. But it HAS happened with the X.5.1 Update! And I'm having a devil of a time getting any relevant info about the problem.

  • Macbook Pro won't install Snow Leopard

I am having trouble installing Snow Leopard on my Macbook Pro. I currently have Leopard 10.5.8 installed. I contacted Apple after my first issue. The tech support person decided I had a bad DVD & sent me a new copy, but the issue remains the same. When I try to upgrade I get as far as approving the user agreement and then the installation screen disappears. I tried installing using the DVD as the start-up as recommended in the installation instructions. When I do this I get as far as selecting the destination, but the hard drive has the yellow triangle with the exclamation point and says Mac OS 10 can't start from here. I have used the Disk Utility & Disk First Aid to check my hard drive & it checks out ok. Any ideas what I should do?

You could try doing what I call a repair install of Leo--installing Leo over Leo via upgrade. It is possible that you can reinstall Leo this way, and your problem will be fixed, even though you can't install Sno (yet). Also, you could try the Leo install from your desktop rather than having started to the DVD. I can't assess the probability that using this technique will solve your problem. I think it definitely is less than 50%. And, I emphasize that you may not even be able to do the repair install.

  • Battery update 1.4 won't install snow leopard

I bought a used macbook 2.0 2006 model. The battery in it was dead when I installed snow leopard. Now I have a new battery, but it will only charge to 92%. So, I installed battery update 1.2, which did nothing for the problem. Then I tried to install battery update 1.4 but  could not get past the install screen. Is it because I have 1.2 installed and should I go to system core service and delete update 1.2 then install  update 1.4

I have an update to my own post. Since I have a newly puhchased copy of Snow Leopard, I was able to call Apple tech support. Hear is what I found out from them. Battery update 1.4 is not compatable with Snow Leopard, it stops at Leopard. I still don't know why  update 1.2 installed.  I tried all the other things that Apple recomeds such as reset system management, zaping the pram and draining the battery.

  • White MacBook won't install Snow Leopard....help!

    Hi,
I have 10.5.8 installed on my white MacBook (2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) computer.
I'm trying to install Snow Leopard, but during the installation, a message pops up saying "Mac OS X Snow Leopard cannot be installed on this computer".
Will 10.6 not work on this laptop?
    Thanks!

You need to use a retail disk and not one which shipped with another Mac.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.3.1 won't install on Windows 7. Error 1303 on ActiveX directory.

    Hi,
I have tried searching in all the windows and adobe forums but couldn't find the answer to this problem. I had Adobe Acrobat running. I updated, not sure if it was 9.0 or 9.3 but it didn't install properly and it messed up my adobe installation. I removed all Adobe programs (Acrobat, Flash, Air) but the Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ActiveX directory is not accessble. The installer fails with Error 1303 saying it doesn't have permission to access this directory. I have tried Editing the Advanced properties to change the ownership but the owner is not visible and unchangeable. Please help me fix this. Due to this Acrobat cannot be installed and without PDF, its impossible to use so many programs.
I was running the installer as Administrator.
    Thanks.
    P.S.
Error 1303. The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.

Thanks. I was logged in as Admin. What helped was the age old proven solution for any Windows problem, a reboot. For some reason, some process was probably holding on to the lock. Some uninstaller forgot to ask me to reboot, or perhaps I forgot to reboot. Oh well.

  • Adobe Illustrator CC 2014.1 won't launch

    Hello,
I have download and install the CC 2014 all work, and i did the update to 2014.1 for Illustrator and now i can't open it, i acn see in task the app start and after few second it's left. I dont see the first screen with artwork. How can i solve it ?
    Thanks

    Hi there,
Do you have any third party plug-ins installed? Some of them might not be compatible with the latest version of Illustrator yet. Try disabling them and see if that works.
Suitcase Fusion for example will require an update in order to work. Crash at launch | Mac OS | Suitcase Fusion 5
Let us know how it goes!

  • Adobe In Design CC 2014 won't install on a PC but it will on another.

I have a user who I'm trying to deploy a new laptop for.  I am installing Adobe In Design CC 2014 but early in the install it just suddenly quits.  I can install the software on my own PC with no problem both are running Windows 7 64 bit.  Any ideas?

Most likely some sort of permissions problem.

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional won't install with new serial number from Adobe

Having replaced my PC I tried to install Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional but I was unable to activate registration as it had already been registered and is an 'old product'.  I have contacted the Adobe on-line advisor and was given a new serial number and a file to download.
The set-up wizard will not complete even though I type in the new number accurately and each time I've had to abort installation as it says it can't be verified.
Does anyone have any suggestions or explain what I might be doing wrong please?
    Thank you

    Thank you Bill for replying.
I have been able to install the disc but it tells me that I have to activate it with a time limit of 30 days and counting.  Activation fails each time I've tried.  As I'm nearing the end of the time limit I decided to contact Adobe for advice.  They gave me a download package and new serial number but it's only suitable for OS XP and Windows 2000 so I'm unable to download it.  I was told by the advisor if I still had problems to use the forum as a means of support so that's why I'm talking to people here.
I have uninstalled Adobe Acrobate Pro 7, so I might try reinstalling the disc to see if it gives me another 30 days grace, that, at least, would be a way around it.
I'll now follow the link you've given me.   Though I do suspect I'm in a bit of a cul de sac.

  • Adobe Reader for Palm OS won't install

When i try to install Adobe Reader for Palm OS from the disk that came with my new Palm T/X (or from the Adobe website) it acts like it's doing something but never actually installs. Help!!!

The Adobe Reader 305 for PalmOS setup file contains an older version of InstallShield's SETUP.EXE. For several reasons this setup version might hang without showing any GUI:
    a. A running background application prevents the setup from continuing.
    b. The TEMP-folder contains a lot of files and/or subdirectories.
ad a: Use the Windows Task manager to check how many background programs are running. You can temporarily prevent most startup-programs from running by holding both shift-keys immediately after logging into Windows XP.
ad b: Delete the files and folders from your TEMP folder(s). To locate your personal TEMP folder: Use the windows start menu -> click on: Run.. -> Enter: %TEMP% and press enter. Also check the %WINDIR%\TEMP folder. Some files might be in use during deletion, this can be ignored safely.
Reboot the computer after cleaning the TEMP folder(s), then try again running the setup program.

  • Error: Adobe Illustrator CS6.app you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime

I can not longer open Illustrator files. I get this message. If I click on More info... I go to a page that doesn't seem to exist.
Loading a Java runtime doesn't seem to fix it either.
Unhappy. I have grading to do.

    DrDebit,
You may be able to get round the legacy JAVA requirement as follows:
Create empty folders at “/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk” and “/System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle”, to make Illustrator use Jave SE 8 as it should.
The solution was presented by Kals in post #7 here:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1637908
If not, here are download sites:
    Win:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase6-419 409.html
    Mac:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572
Some have found that the page may turn up blank to start with, so it may be necessary to reload the page.
Others have found that it may depend on browser. Specifically, a switch from Safari has solved it in one case.
