Adobe Illustrator Action to recolor 1000 files

Question

Hello,
I have around 1000 illustrator files that are white icon over a red button. I want to change the color of this red button. i am trying to use recolor artwork but it cannot be recorded in Action. anybody no how to make Action that can recolor this 1000 files so i can use batch in the action panel to apply it for all of my files at once.

The process to change colors in a file constists of these steps:
write down the exact values of what you want to change
Then in the action:
create an object with the old color
name it
select same
change color to new values
you can also create a new swatch
select the helper object by name
delete
