Adobe Illustrator CS4 - Shortcut keys not working

The short cut keys on my adobe illustrator cs4 programme have stopped working. I am working on a Mac OSX 10.9.2 . Can anyone help? I have tried reinstalling but it hasn't helped. I recently installed a wacom device would this have anything to do with it?Adobe CS4

Have you installed the newest Wacom driver?
Did you use the full three step way?
Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall?

Premiere Pro CC shortcut keys not working

I have downloaded the trial version of premiere pro and I found that all the keyboard shortcuts do not work at all. Basic things like delete, copy,cut and undo don't work, as well as ever other shortcut. Does this have to do with the trial version, or is there something I can do to fix this.

thanks for the kudos. feels good to help. i actually joined the forum hoping to find an answer to this specific problem never thinking i'd be the one to hit on the solution. no genius just a lot of luck and perserverance.
my knowledge of CS4 is rudimentary and my work is rather pedestrian, so its good to know there is a "community" where one can find help and support. maybe it will help me take my work up a notch or two

Shortcut key not working in Illustrator CC...

Having used a keyboard shortcut in Illustrator for years, it is not working in CC. In previous versions, shift / opt / cmd + m threw you into the character font field. You could then start typing your desired font style without ever touching the mouse! It is not working in CC. After speaking with "someone" far far away - my issue was not resolved. I use this shortcut hundreds of times a day!
Has any one figured this out? I'll buy you lunch for a solution!!!

No, it should highlight the Character 'font' style i.e. Souvenir, Goudy, etc.

Certain action shortcut keys not working

In my Captivate 5.5 training simulation, I want users to click Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. I've tried inserting a transparent click box and setting the shortcut to Ctrl+C. On success is set to go to the next slide.
When I preview the training and I press Ctrl+C on my keyboard, nothing happens. I don't get the fail message and the slide doesn't advance.
If I set the shortcut to something else, like Ctrl+L, it works fine. I'm guessing that certain Windows keyboard combinations are not allowed as shortcuts? Is there a way around this?

Like you said, it is not working when you keep a shortcut, which is same as a Windwos Default shortcut for certain action, even the Cp User Guide does not recommend to have a conflicting Shortcut --
"Note: If your Adobe Captivate project is displayed in a browser, set keyboard shortcuts that do not conflict with common browser shortcuts. For example, F1 is frequently used as a keyboard shortc"ut to display Help. The Control, Alt, and Shift keys map to the Control, Option, and Shift keys on Macintosh® computers, respectively."
When such a conflict arises in project shortcut to System Shortcut, the System shortcut takes precendence and it overrides the project shortcut.

CS4 Acrobat Key Not Working

I have a copy of CS4 that installed fine and all the apps like Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc. are working fine, but Acrobat 9 will not take the software key I was given. When I open a PDF it asks me to first enter my password, then looks like it may be installing something, then prompts me for a serial number or to use the trial.
I haven't had a need to edit a PDF since I installed the software until now and had been viewing files in a browser...

Ok, here is some detail info of the issue:
On my netbook: CPU=1.6ghz, RAM=2Gb, VGA=Intel500, SSD@60mb/s
- Bridge cs3 = Hardware Render = impressive response time. [way beyond 30fps]
- Bridge cs3 = Software Render = <10fps
- Bridge cs4 = Hardware Render = not available
- Bridge cs4 = Software Render = 2 or maybe 3fps (!!!) Its a huge diference!
Come on Adobe, a loot of computers are/will be shipping this graphic card!
Just release a patch for us. Or think about it on cs5.

Shortcut keys NOT working when publish to PDF full screen

We have a series of modules that are published to pdf and the animations run inside the pdf file. We use the Tab shortcut key quite a bit as it simulates the natural progression between form items.
This works fine when viewing the pdf in standard mode. But when you right click on the PDF and go full screen, the Tab key fails to work. It wants to place emphasis on the playback controller.
Has anyone experienced this issue, and do you know the workaround?

If the PDF's page content is not renderable text (e.g., the scanned image/picuture of characters or outlined fonts (which are graphics (a "picuture")) then there is nothing for the Highlight Comment tool to work with.
So - two trials.
Acrobat's Preferences set to permit "U" to make use of the Underline tool.
Each trial done in Full screen.
#1 = a PDF with scanned stuff. Press "U". Tool is available but unable to highlight anything.
#2 = a PDF with renderable stuff. Press "U". Tool is available & can place highlight over selected characters.

PP CS6 PageUp & PageDn shortcut keys not working

Heads up... This may look like a simple topic that's been covered before, but read on and you'll see it's different.
I've been using Premiere since v5.5 (Windows 95, not CS 5.5!). I use lots of shortcut keys for all my apps. Premiere has always used PageUp and PageDn to move the cursor to the next edit point (any cut video or audio clip). In PP CS6, I went into change the shortcut keys for those two commands to the same ones I've been using for years. PP CS6 has two sets of options for cursor movements: Selected Track(s) or Any Track. The Any Track is the way it's worked before in earlier versions of PP. I set the Any Tracks Next/Previous to PageDown and PageUp respectively. The actual keystrokes appear in the hot-key window when I press them so I know PP sees the keys and knows what they are.
When I saved the shortcuts and went to the timeline... nada. PgUp and PgDn do nothing. This has nothing to do with selected video tracks as I'm using the Any Tracks option. To do a further test, I changed the shortcut keys to Ctrl+PgUp and Ctr+PgDn for Any Track. When I tested that out, it worked perfectly. So this appears to be a bug of some kind. I've been using PgUp and PgDn for many years. I certainly don't want to have to hold the Ctrl key down while Paging Up and Down to move around the project from clip to clip!
Does anyone have a solution to this one?

Yeah, I know, but every now and then I have to reinstall and then there's the agony of changing again from the defaults :-( In the end, like 'em or hate 'em, sticking with the defaults usually makes for an easier life. I say that as someone who has been commercially programming since 1967 and forced to use practically every crazy language and stupid machine ever invented ;-)

Staroffice 8 Zoom Shortcut keys not working

(Solaris 10, Staroffice 8 U3 rev 2, Sunray)
The shortcut keys for zoom in Drawing and Presents used to be the "+", "-", "/" and "*" keys (with num lock ON).
The issue:
The + and - keys still zoom in and out, but the / and * keys no longer zoom anything
What I am expecting:
The "/" should zoom to the "selection" and the * key should zoom to the page
Notes:
- the "zoom" button is enabled in a toolbar, and it changes to the appropriate "icon" when I hit the / and * keys, but nothing happens to the view
- I have tried this with different keyboards.
- I have tried this on openoffice on a mac, with similar results
Could this be a bug, or is it something i'm missing?

Also the toolbar icons are not working as expected.
When I'm pressing zoom-in or zoom-out the position of the worksheet is shifting to another coordinate.
Zooming in to a specific point is not possible, so I have to zoom-in first and then reposition the worksheet next.
Zooming out also ends up with an extra repositioning of the worksheet.
DM is 3.1.1.703, OS is windows 7.
Any feedback if this is reproduceable on other installations.

Message ShortCut Key not working properly

Hellow every one, guys i am encountrying a problem regarding my nokia e5 , i've just bought it recently and still left with 8 months warranty. The problem i am facing is, the message shortcut key which is on the keypad of this Phone, is not working properly. When i do long press to open new text msg, it sometimes doesnt opens any thing and sometimes even open messaging and then close it. At a certain angle i have to apply a little more force in order to operate it properly. Please help me wheather its a hardware problem or any sort of dust particles have emerged inside the keypad resulting in loose contact of the button and the motherboard.

PP CS4 color key not working

I have a very basic use case. I have done a simple 1 min screen capture video showing a software product demonstration. I have set the background to cyan for easy key out.
However when importing to PP and adding a color key to cyan, Preview shows the color being removed. But after rendering the sequence out. The final video show a cyan background with no key color effect.... I have tried adjusing the options on the color key and different video output formats and options. But each time the color key does not seem to be reflected in the final render. like I siad preview window is correct, but after media encoder renders color key seems to habe been turned off.
if I switch to chroma key, it work correclty. But I should not have to, since it is a solid color. and should be very accurate to key out using color key.
And/also if I import the sequence (with color key) into AE... it render our correctly. The exact same thing. Renders inccorrectly from PP, corrrectly from AE, no changes etc..
I am assumeing there must be some setting somewhere I am not paying attention to. I do not know AE well enough to rely on that to get my work done.

Captivate 7 Button Shortcut Keys Not Working

In captivate 7 I have several button interactions that worked in 5.5, but do not work in 7. I am using shortcut key combinations (i.e. CtrlC and CtrlV) to have the user navigate to the next slide. I have replaced the interactions and they still do not work. Any ideas?

I will provide more information. The files I am working with were created in Captivate 4. We moved up to Captivate 7 and these files had to be processed through Captivate 5.5 so I could open them in Captivate 7. The tasks being trained involve Systems Training where the user enters keystrokes, like the Enter key, and several key combinations, like Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V. In Captivate 4, to simulate these functions, I used the Transparent Button with No Mouse Click and the Shortcut Key or combinations. I had no problems, everything worked fine. When I was cleaning up the new Captivate 7 file, is when I noticed the key combinations (i.e. CtrlC, CtrlV) no longer allowed the project to navigate to the next slide. It does not produce a failure or show the Failure caption. It is like it is accepting the key combination as valid, but not performing the action to navigate to the next slide. The only way I found to get around this issue was to uncheck the Visible in output check box.
I was also recreating some of these files from scratch in Captivate 7 and did notice unchecking the Visible in Output box would cause the button to be ignored and the project would just continue. I did notice the keystroke combination setting in the Shortcut on the button does not work. Even in a clean Captivate 7 file. Further testing showed this is somewhat erratic. For instance if I assign CtrlA or CtrlN as keystroke combinations, the project navigates as expected. If I use CtrlX the same problem occurs as with CtrlC and Ctrl+V. Also, the Failure caption does not display when using a wrong keystroke combination. It only works with single keys, not to include Ctrl or Alt. In Captivate 4, the Failure caption displayed correctly with the keystroke combinations.
I am using Captivate 7 (32 bit) with Windows XP SP3 on a Pentium 4 with 4 Gb of RAM. I know…extremely slow, but this is the best the state would provide. I hope this information has made things a little clearer.

Brightness shortcut keys not working in Windows 8 or 8.1

I'm no longer able to use the brightness shortcut keys after I've installed the Lenovo power management tool in Windows 8 on a Ideapad U300s.
When the Lenovo power management tool is NOT installed on the system, pressing the shortcut keys brings up the Windows UI in the upper left hand corner of the screen and the display bridghness is adjusted accordingly.
However, as soon as the Lenov PM software is installed, the Windows brightness indicator shows up ONCE and I can no longer adjust the brightness with the shortcut buttons.

At the moment, there aren't any Boot Camp drivers ready for Windows 8, so it's normal that you have problems. Wait until Apple updates Boot Camp drivers, normally with a OS X update

Shortcut keys not working

On my Mac (OSX 10.9.5), the 'step backwards' shortcut key (cmd-alt-z) isn't working; nothing happens.
On my Windows (Windows 7) pc, the 'step forwards' shortcut key (ctrl-shift-z) isn't working.
If I go into the shortcut menu and change the shortcut key, it doesn't let me change it back to the original shortcut (cmd-alt-z) and I have to reset the keybindings.
I have tried resetting preferences. All of the keys on both keyboards work, and I can use those keys as shortcuts in other software. I'm using photoshop CC (2014).
Any suggestions to get the shortcut keys working again?

If you have Photoshop CC or older, install the WhiteWindowWorkaround plugin.
And install the MacOS 10.10.1 update.

Shortcut keys not working on my iMac (Lion) keyboard?

this happened late last week. my shortcut keys worked fine, but now nothing is working ( ©c, © a, © , etc.). tried restoring back to default in system prefences and repaired the HD in disc utility, but no luck. is this just a bug that apple need to fix? thanks

Shortcut keys not working in CS6

Since upgrading to CS6, any single-key shortcuts aren't working.
For instance, pressing "M" to change to the marquee tool does nothing, but "Command-T" (for Transform) works fine.
This little bug keeps me from changing any of the main tools, which hurts workflow pretty badly.

Ah! Looks like there's a preference for it under General > Use Shift Key for Tool Switch.
All is well in the world now.
