Adobe illustrator How to edit my photo Template

Can anyone tell me how to edit the photo blocks on my Template.
Someone made me a template in adobe illustrator and i can't seem to edit the blocks to add photos instead of the other images.
Thank You

This is the way I would do it. (see image below)
Place image.
Live trace - alter dialogue boxes to your preference etc, select OK
Keep image elected - expand
Keep selected - select fill colour and click 'none' and select stroke and give a colour/black and a small pt size.
You should have a outline face/image with no fill and just a stroke.

  • How to Edit a Photo to Make it Print Ready?

I have Photoshop Elements 5 running under Windows XP.
I have been editing photos for a while now for on-screen viewing, and I think I feel pretty comfortable with that.  But now I would like to edit some photos to make them ready for print.
I am a little confused on the steps you should take to get the right document size and resolution.  I know you should have at least about 220 ppi for photos you want to print.  My Canon SD750 takes photos at 180 ppi with pixel dimensions of 3072 x 2304.  So if I wanted to say, edit the photo to have a document size of 5 x 7 or 7 x 5 with a ppi of 250, what are the steps I would need to take?  Also, do I need to be dealing with the pixel dimensions at all and/or resampling to make photos ready for print.
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Lee,
For printing it is desirable to have a resolution of 240-300px/in, if possible.
Image>resize>image size brings up a dialog where you can enter the document dimensions in inches.
This link will provide you with details:

  • How can I get photo templates in iWeb to display on Windows Internet Explorer?

I am creating a web site, using iWeb 3 (latest version), for a friend's band.  I have created a Photos page, using the My Album template.  I have also created various bio pages, using the Photo template.  When I tesy the pages on my virtual Windows maching, with Internet Explorer 9, I can only see the text and no photos.  Anyone have a similar problem and a solution, being to continue to use the iWeb page templates?
    Thanks in advance

you can not depend virtual machine, it's an emulator and emulator is not the real thing... just like open a web page in safari and use develop --> user agent.
you have to test it out with a real pc and real ie browser.
iweb photos/albums page are loaded with javascript widgets, so turn on javascript in you pc/browser.
optimize photos/albums page will have no effects with javascript widgets.
fact check people, a lot thing won't when javascript is off... start out with navbar...

  • How to edit a photo with a third party app ?

I use Pixelmator on both ipad and imac and I would like to edit my photos on the mac the same way I do on my ipad but I can’t find the way to do so. Has anyone found a way to edit Photos with Pixelmator or Photoshop from the Mac Photo App ?

I think this is a massive oversight by Apple, and makes the app virtually useless to anyone who regularly edits in Photoshop or any other third-party app. VERY disappointing, especially since iPhoto (which had this ability) is no longer functional!

  • How to edit/print photos marked with an icon displaying a broken rectagle?

I have been trying to print pictures displaying a broken rectangle. When I open up the pictures, they will not become clear on the screen and consequently I can not edit them. They seem to be missing the base part of the picture that must be lost in my computer. Thanks for the help. Debby

    > Yes they were moved from my photo file to Adobe starting edition.
PSA SE does not store the picture files anywhere. It only catalogs what you have. If you deleted them from My Photos after importing into PSA SE, the image files are now lost [unless you have a backup or they are in the Recycle Bin].

  • How to edit Captivate Handout template

I'd like Captivate 6 handouts to publish in a table that is left justified with the slide notes in the left column and background image in the right column.  I don't want any labels like "Slide 1 - Slide 1" or "Slide Notes."
    Header 1
    Header 2
Slide notes here without label...blah, blah, blah
Image from slide here at same size as in Storyboard publish
I've searched the internet for over 4 hours today and cannot figure out how to do this, including the Adobe discussion lists.  I found a link to a document on Creating Wordoutput Templates.  It has lots of tags, but no instructions.  I'm not a programmer, and the document was incomprehensible to me.
I found and opened each of the Captivate print templates.  The three that show coding are Word docs and none of them have a tag for slide notes.  I tried altering one of them and got an error when I tried to publish.  The template used for handouts has no coding that I can find or change.  When you use the table feature, the images are tiny and it creates multiple tables within the document instead of just one.  And, of course, it has the labels for slide notes and slide numbers.
Can anyone send me instructions or a Word template that can be used to do this?
    Thanks!

  • How to edit a photo in Lr4, continued...

The purpose of this thread is to continue the Lr4 editing tips & tricks started in the beta forum.

    How to adjust highlight tone
    ======================
Highlight toning is vastly improved in Lr4, by way of:
    1. Automatic highlight recovery and clipping protection (roll-off...)
    2. The whites slider.
    3. Highlights slider.
    4. Locals.
re #1: You don't have to do anything to take advantage of this, but it allows you to do things you couldn't do before, namely up the whites, exposure, (contrast), and/or highlights without excessive clipping, and without having an ugly transition between clipped and un-clipped whites, and without losing good tone and detail in the highlights.
re #2: Arguably, the most important slider in PV2012 is the whites slider. Definitely the most important slider when it comes to optimizing highlight toning in PV2012.
re #3: Since the highlights slider is the main slider for controlling highlight "recovery" and setting level of highlights, most people discover it pretty quickly. But using it in conjunction with whites (and exposure) opens a whole new set of doors that are absolutely essential to getting the most from PV2012.
re #4: Because one can readily tweak highlights using the locals (without much affecting midtones or shadows), one can push global highlight toning much further when locals are to be used too. Of course one can take advantage of the locals even if not pushing global adjustments too hard ;-)
To make a short story long...
In Lr3, one had to use the highlight recovery to recover highlights, or decrease exposure, and/or keep brightness and contrast low. In Lr4 most highlights are recovered for you automatically. The rest can be recovered by:
    -highlights
    -exposure
    -whites
Or any combination of the above (even if in conjunction with positive values from some of the others).
    Highlights slider:
-highlights: pulls highlights leftward, doing a combination of recovery and stratification, but will not decrease midtone contrast in the doing.
+highlights: increases highlight level while attempting to minimize compression of highlights/whites. Like everything, protected by automatic roll-off logic.
    Exposure slider:
+exposure: increases all tones smoothly, from low to high, but protects highs from getting too too bright. Some like to think of it as being somewhere between PV2010 exposure and PV2010 brightness. The exposure slider has been designed to complement the other sliders. For example, increasing exposure increases highlights in a way that -highlights can bring back down. And since -highlights does not reduce midtone contrast, one can use +exposure -highlights to brighten the midtones in an image without making it look washed out like increasing brightness in PV2010 would.
-exposure: decreases all tones smoothly, but tries to keep highest tones from getting too dim - this is a big difference between PV2012 and PV2010.
    Whites slider:
+whites: stretches entire tone curve rightward, smoothly - whites most, blacks least. Very much like a white-biased version of exposure. Very similar to the right-side equivalent of blacks slider. +whites also supports graceful driving into clipping. Use a brush with -highlights to recover highlights driven a little too far.
-whites: recovers clipped highlights and moves them leftward along with all other tones smoothly, all the while and nevertheless attempting to keep highest tones high, after they've been recovered.
PV2012 includes some fancy programming that allows us to do things that were not even close to possible in PV2010. The fact that the positive function of the sliders is not necessarily the exact inverse of the negative functionality is representative of this sophistication. And the slider behavior can change dynamically depending on image and other settings... This can make it tricky, but also makes it much more powerful than one might think given it's modest basic slider set.
In Lr3, fill always did the same thing, and highlight recovery always did the same thing. While predictable, they did not allow one to optimize image quality and tone, nor provide the same level of flexibility as PV2012.
One of the things I don't like about PV2012 is that the highlights, by default have a muted or processed look I sometimes describe as "powdery", as opposed to unadulterated and glowy - more detailed to be sure, but a bit flat.
One of the things I do like about PV2012 is that the whites slider allows one to restore much of the original highlight quality, and more.
    To shorten a long story:
    ===================
I strongly recommend to use +whites to the extent the image allows in order to have maximally shiny and detailed highlights (unless that's not what you want of course). You may have to decrease exposure and/or highlights, and increase shadow level as compensation.
    In a nutshell:
+whites is good - use it to it's fullest!
    And on the flip side:
Sometimes -highlights just won't cut it. Either it just can't do the job (long story not told) or it produces too much highlight stratification. In either case, that's when -whites steps in. Knowing when to use -whites is as important as remembering to use +whites whenever possible, but is required far less frequently on most images.
    Summary:
    ========
To increase intra-highlight detail and/or unflatten highlights: +whites, usually accompanied by some combination of -exposure and/or -highlights, and +shadows as compensatory adjustment.
To recover highlights that would otherwise be too hard to reach, (or in cases of unusual tonal distribution, when -highlights compresses shadows too much), and/or to compress tonal range from the right-end leftward: -whites.
In PV2012 it is generally not necessary to reduce contrast to recover and stratify highlights, although you can if you want ;-)
    Advanced bonus formula:
+whites +highlights -exposure +blacks +shadows +contrast (-saturation) to unflatten highlights, but minimize highlight stratification.
    Explanation:
+whites: the workhorse - required for unraveling auto highlight recovery which is primarily responsible for the flattening.
+highlights: keeps highlights from being separated as much when +whites is done.
-exposure: keeps top end from being too bright due to the above, but also darkens bottom end.
+blacks +shadows: raises bottem end back up and pushes on highlights re-compressing them from the left.
+contrast: further compresses highlights. Note: due to +blacks +shadows, +contrast won't darken bottom end too much or stratify midtones as much.
    (-saturation): keeps +contrast tonal.
    Try it!
OK, enough for now - sorry for putting you through all this.

  • How to Edit someone's Template.

Can you help me help out with Templates.
Sometimes when I try to help out with coding issues it appears to me that the page is a template page which I have never used.  They have all those "instanceEdit" tags in there.
That seems to me to stop me from editing the code in DW.  My way round it is to copy the code into a text file, manually strip out all that stuff and save as an .html file.  It takes ages!
Is there an easier way to do that?
I don't use templates in DW - they frighten me.
Should I learn to use them?
    Martin

I have personally dispensed with DW Templates after a decade of using them.
I now find them restrictive and I regularly found the Template syntax was getting in my way.
I now prefer to code common elements as Server Side Includes.
Others mix Templates with Server Side Includes for the best of both worlds.

  • How can edit a photo to fit my wallpaper?

Can't resize a photo in my stream to fit as a wallpaper since the new upgrade. Any ideas?

Thks leonieDF for the help but the issue is that I can't use a whole photo shrunk to fit the iPhone as I use to. Now I'm only getting a cropped version of it to use as a wallpaper.
These options seem to have been discontinued in IOS 7.
Try to view the photo in the Photos.app, scaled exactly as you like it in "Edit" mode. Then take a screenshot of the current view (Press Home button and Power button at the same time). This will save a version that exactly fits the screen to the Camera Roll. Use that screenshot as as wallpaper.
