Adobe illustrator updated now crashing on launch

I updated CC illustrator last night 7th Oct 2014, and this morning it crashes every time I launch it, all other CC apps work, is anyone else having this issue?

Since I posted the above I have installed Suitcase Fusion 6. Illustrator continued to crash at every launch.
I have tried opening with the Shift Option Command keys held down to rest the preferences. No change. I uninstalled Suitcase Fusion, removed all the plugins and tried again several times. Illustrator continues to crash at launch. I have run maintenance apps (Clean my Mac and Mac Keeper), I have also rebuilt my permissions in Disk Utility. No change. I downloaded and installed FontExplorer Pro. No change. I uninstalled Illustrator and redownloaded it. Despite deleting the preferences when I uninstalled Illustrator I now get a window asking me do I want to reopen windows that were open when Illustrator crashed. THERE WERE NO OPEN WINDOWS. When I dismiss this window (i have tried both choices: restore and not) Illustrator crashes.
I have now, today, between 9am and 11:26am AEDST have unsuccessfully tried to open Illustrator 18 times. It is still not open. I can't finish an urgent client project.
Is anyone at Adobe listening??

FCP 10.0.1 update now crashes every time I launch it!

FCP update now crashes every time I launch it! Won't even open a project I started last week with version 10.0.0.
I have a deadline at work so I've now got a big problem! I'm trying to give the new and supposedly improved FCPX a shot but this app is turning out to be a real hack. What other professional video editing software do you guys use? Anyone use Premier Pro? I have Premier pro and think I should probably start my new projects in it. As I said....this app is a real mess.
FYI: Same problem for my 1 year old MacBook Pro (8G ram, i7 processor) AND my Mac Pro (16G ram, 2 x 3GHz quad core processors, 4-1TB hardrives.

I don't know who these friends are, but they're certainly misinformed and they don't appear to be doing you any favours.
There are a great number of professional editors who have used Final Cut Pro since version 4 - but took the trouble to
a. Find out the system and install requirements for FCP X
b. Watch professional tutorials such as Ripple Training and actually LEARN how to use this ground breaking new application.
They (and I) are having very few issues with FCP X - especially since the update.
If you're getting crashes, autosave problems etc, there is more than likely some conflict on your system drive.
Create a new (admin) user on your Mac system and try FCP X from there.
I did this, and FCP X worked perfectly on the new account, meaning there was definitely a conflict on my existing system.
To be absolutely certain my MacPro's system was squeaky clean, I then did a clean reinstall (not TimeMachine) and FCP X has worked reliably ever since.
FCP X application should be in your Applications folder and ideally, your project and events should all be on an external HD and not on your Mac system drive.
I have around 4000 clips distributed between six events at the moment and FCP X is coping very well most of the time.
It helps to work without the waveforms displayed as these slow things down considerably.
Do you have FC Studio or a version of FCP on the same drive partition as FCP X?
This is what Apple say on their current web page on installation practice:
"It is strongly recommended that you install Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, and Compressor 4 on a startup disk that does not have Final Cut Studio (2009) already installed. Use Apple's preferred installation procedure when upgrading one version of Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Studio to the next. This procedure is not unique to Final Cut Pro X."
They do go on to say "if you must" have the two on the same partition, FCS must be located in a different folder - but I would have thought the words "strongly recommended" and "if you must" speak for themselves.

whenever i go to plugin check page the list of plugins does not load. it does not load any plugins and does not load any 'update' button.
how can i update my plugins if firefox wont load the PLugin Check [age properly?????????
how do i fix this problem? i cannot attach photos to emails.

You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Adobe flash cs5 pro crashes when launched.

Adobe flash cs5 pro crashes when launched. The name of the problem is named 'Appcrash.' The application name is 'flash exe'. Application version 11.0.0.485. Name of the module with this faults is Adobepsl.dll. and the So version?: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.2
When I start Flash cs5 there appears a small box which tells me that it is importing files, where I didn't ask for. This happened after I imported a video animation from Photoshop Cs3. But now I just want to start a new project which it doesn't allow. I get only the flash sign and the fonts and than during the building workspace, i get the errorreport. Anyone knows what to do? Because it is not only frustrating, now I can not work on my website projects which I have to finish soon, aaaahhhhhaaaaaahhhhhhhh.
Thanks for reading and hopefully someone knows something to help me out of this misery. Oh I reinstalled flash cs5 allready, but nothing changed!.......

Illustrator CC2014 keeps crashing on launch....help i'm on a mac running maverick

My illustrator program keeps crashing upon launch
i called tech support they fixed it
and the next day it's doing it again
I'm trying to contact them but they are closed

Had same problem. I had the Wacom Inkling installed. You will need to remove that, or any other third party plug-ins and restart illustrator. Found this:
Solution
In the Finder, browse to the folder that contains Illustrator plug-ins.
Move all third-party plug-ins to a different folder.
(Important) Press and hold Command + Option + Shift, launch Illustrator, and keep the keys pressed until Illustrator launches. This step clears all Illustrator preferences.
Caution:It's necessary to press the keyboard combination (Command + Option + Shift) in the same order as mentioned above.
(Optional) If you require your third-party plug-ins when you use Illustrator, try adding one plug-in at a time. Each time you add a plug-in, ensure that you follow step 3 to start Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator CS keeps crashing while starting up

Since two weeks ago, Adobe Illustrator CS keeps crashing while starting up due to "Exception: EXCBADACCESS (0x0001)".
Could anyone give me any clue?

Meissam, you are welcome.
Some of the issues are caused by corrupted files.
The usual suspect is the aiprefs file, which held almost all preferences up to 10; since CS(1), some preferences have been moved to other files in the same folder, so in many cases the advice is to move the folder to the Desktop (deleting does not always work).
In other cases, corrupted fonts are the issue. It has been noted in some cases that the -108 has occurred during loading of font, but moving fonts out of the Fonts folder has not helped.
Is the name TypeSupport, in one word?
I believe the files will be rebuilt with the default values as is the case with the aiprefs and other key files. I believe you will find that it has a new content after your starting Illy.
And it should not affect other applications. It may be used for more Adobe applications without causing trouble, but Illy is known to be more particular than most when it comes to fonts; probably because fonts are both text and curves/art, which is why we call it Type.

Adobe Indesign CC 2014 crash on launch

Hi I use this program as well as photoshop, illustrator and muse on a near-constant daily basis. Indesign has suddenly started crashing on launch - the rest of the apps still operate without issue.
I've restarted, reinstalled indesign, disabled all fonts except system fonts - not too sure what the deal is but will need this up and running again asap.
Only significant change that's happened today is I updated a Sony game.

Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 crashes on start Windows 8

Hello,
I can't start Adobe Illustrator CC 2014.
When it shows "initialising" there is the program-window building up (only white screen) but then it crashes down (showing that the programm does not work anymore :/ )...
I allready tried all advises in this forum and others, but nothing worked (the Verdana/Tahoma issue and so on....).
Is there a way to solve the Problem?

Interestingly, my problem was only fixed for 2 days, but doing this fixed it. I removed everything relating to Wacom (drivers, etc.):
Issue | Illustrator CC crashes at launch
Users have reported that Illustrator crashes during or after launch. Specifically, using an input device (for example, a mouse, stylus, tablet device, or others) soon after you start Illustrator CC causes the application to crash immediately.
Cause | Outdated device drivers:
This error occurs due to outdated Wacom device drivers on your computer. Updating the drivers (or uninstalling old or unused device drivers) fixes this issue. This issue can occur even if you do not have any Wacom device currently attached to your computer.
Solution 1: Update Wacom device drivers
Uninstall your current Wacom device drivers. See your Wacom product documentation, for information on how to uninstall the device drivers.
(Recommended for Mac users) If available on your computer, delete the file WacomMultiTouch.framework. To check for and delete the file:
In a new Finder window, click Go > Go to Folder > type /Library/Frameworks > click Go.
In the opened folder, check for a file named WacomMultiTouch.framework. If the file exists, delete it.
Visit the Wacom support site, and reinstall the latest Wacom device drivers for your computer.
Solution 2: Uninstall Wacom device drivers

Illustrator CS3 & CS4 crash on launch

Have used CS4 without problems on OSX 4.11 for 9 months. After doing an Adobe Update after Xmas, Illustrator started crashing on launch. Tried Illustrator CS3 and it crashed too. InDesign crashes when I try to export or package or place anything from Illustrator. Bridge has crashed a few times. Photoshop stable but gives "quit unexpectedly" message when I close it. Have uninstalled entire Design Suite CS4 & CS3. Reinstalled CS3. Trashed Acrobat Reader 9 and all Adobe prefs and settings that I could find. When I trashed the newest Illustrator CS3 settings folder from the User Library it made Illustrator take less time to crash on launch. I am missing my deadlines. What to do?

What to do?
Handle these things correctly. Sorry to say so, but you made your own mess.
- Uninstall everything Adobe using the proper uninstallers as far as possible
- Run the CS3 and CS4 Clean Scripts from the support pages
- Delete the caps.db in Library:Application Support:Adobe:caps
- reinstall - first CS3 + updates, then all CS4+updates

Illustrator CS1 now crashes continually in Mac OS X 10.5

Illustrator CS1 has worked fine for years in OS X 10.5, but, two weeks ago, began crashing every time while loading. The opening window will get as far as "11.0.0 Illustrator CS," or sometimes "11.0.0 Targa," before crashing.
I run my own fonts as well as some commercial fonts, but have managed any duplicates.
On advice, I have gone into "Users > Library > Preferences" and deleted the Illustrator Prefs, but this did not help. (I have since restored it into place, but this did not help.)

I have reinstalled the CS1 Suite, but it made no difference. I moved the entire CS1 suite into Users, where it had not previously been, and reinstalled, but it made no difference.
In a possible side issue, one feature of my HD which I learn may be remarkable is that I have a System Folder, which may be a legacy of the OS 9 days. This is where I've been loading my fonts. Is it remarkable that there are so many font groupings in so many libraries? Should they be in one location onlly?
Any insights would be a lifesaver.

A new Adobe Illustrator CS Settings folder was created, but, not surprisingly, it contained nothing.
When you restart Illy, the folder should contain all the default preferences. If not, there is something fundamentally wrong.
I'd already had a look at the page you linked, and it likewise did me no good.
It may be especially difficult to get to the bottom of fhe possible firewall issues (2) and the recent change issue (9); recently, I had to change to an entirely new kind of firewall because of other issues that arose after a simple update.
I neglected to mention in my original query that I have a full system backup that's about two weeks old, from before the problem occurred. It's on a LaCie external backup. Nowhere can I find instructions on how to restore my hard drive to that state, however; the drive came with no docs, and their website is not helpful. Any work I've done lately can easily be copied elsewhere, so that isn't a problem. How in the world can I restore my HD from the LaCie?
I am used to, and very satisfied with, Maxtor Maxblast which is very easy to use, creating a complete image of the entire drive contents that may be simply replaced. I hope someone else can help with the LaCie software.

Indesign and Illustrator CS5.5 crash on launch?

Hi, since few days my Indesign and Illustrator (CS5.5 on OSX Lion) keep on crashing while launching. I de-installed and re-installed the entire CS5 Suite on my iMac already couple of times, but nothing changes. First I thought it might be a font problem, so I deleted all user fonts, but sadly this also didnt help. I already rang the Adobe tech support line but they are not very helpful at all... very frustrating. Anybody an idea what else I can do?

Everytime I try to launch Indesign or Illustrator CS5.5 they start launching but then crash during launch with the comment "Programme quit unexpectedly". Strange thing is that Photoshop and all other CS5.5 Design Premium components are launching and working fine. I am working on the iMac 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with 6MB with OSX Lion.

After worling for a while program now crashes on launch

I have been tooling around the Encore interface for a couple of weeks. Now when I launch the app, it crashes on launch, I am on a mac pro running
10.4.10 with 5GB ram, All the other CS3 titles work fine. Now that I'm learning to use Encore, I wish it would work, too. I've tried rebooting a million times as well as updating the software. I don't believe I've added any new software or hardware. Help!

You can try comparing windows\system32\cvirte.dll and the contents of the windows\system32\cvirte folder between your development computer and your target computer to make sure that they are the same (keep in mind that the paths are different in your development computer: windows\syswow64\cvirte.dll and windows\syswow64\cvirte).
Also, make sure that you are able to run a release-build version of your program in your development computer to confirm that this is a distribution problem and not just a release vs. debug problem.
Make sure that you are building and deploying a 32-bit version of your program, not a 64-bit.
Finally, you can always remote debug your program to see if you can narrow down where the crash is happening. Here are some instructions on how to do that (the instructions are for CVI 9.0, which is the oldest version for which I could find documentation online, but it should work the same way in 8.5).
