Adobe Illustrator works under root, but not my normal admin account.

I am having an issue using Adobe Illustrator under my normal system administrator. It works under the root user. Not sure why this is. They can't help me fix it. This also happens on my laptop.
Here is my report from illustrator.

Hi, couldn't read all those logs, but...
Question matks, even in the root UUID 0 account indicate some deeper problem, but no expert.
Was it maybe Installed with root privileges???
Have you booted from the Restore paryion & Repaired Disk, then Permissions?

  • .jsp works in ROOT but not separate web

I am very new to JSP but I am running the Java runtime on a Unix
REDHAT machine and I am using Apache Tomcat. I have the $TOMCAT_HOME
defined and the usual helloworld.jsp will run at
$TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/ROOT but not at my web which is
$TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/ralph. All I did was copy from one to the other.
What else do I need to do to make this work?
              Thanks.

    Interesting.
    - Does the page look identical in each browser
though?Yes, the pages look identical in every other way.
    - When you click a box to expand the tree does it load
a new page or is it handled through some client side
scripting like Javascript? No new page is loaded, a Javascript handles the "+" boxes.
    - What versions of Netscape have you found it didn't
work?I've tried it out on v4.75 as well as v6.2, no success with either.
Someone else mentioned to me that it sounds like a Javascript problem. I've worked with Javascript for a couple of years now, but I've never seen these "+" boxes used before, so I'm in new territory as far as those are concerned. Thanks!

  • JMF code working under linux but not windows XP

    Hello everyone,
I'm currently working on a nice cross-platform project involving sound producing. I decided to take a look at JMF and test it a bit to know if its features can suit me. I tried to make it works under windows, using a very simple sample of code. The system seems to play the sound as some console output detects the start and the end, but all i hear is a very short noise ( 1/2second ) like a "CLIK" and nothing else. I tested the code under linux, using the same computer and it works just fine, playing the same wave nicely and entirely.
    some info:
-i used the cross platform JMF, no performance pack ( i tried it , but still no result )
-the code just opens a file dialog and plays the selected file
-the selected file was always a very simple .wav
-i did not use system classpath variables because i don't like it, i rather use local classpath ( which works fine too, no doubt about it )
-i tested this little soft on 2 other computer using windows XP, and still got the same result.
Please, have you got an idea about what's going on ?
Thanks a lot for any answer!

  • This CFHTTP works under CF5 but not CF7

    Hi,
Can some one explains to me why this code works under CF5,
the page is returned in fileContent, but under CF7, the fileContent

  • Got a new dell laptop. adobe flash works on IE but not with Firefox. Manual installation failed. help!

When trying to install adobe plugin, it fails, as does trying to do it manually. When trying manually, it says to close firefox then it will work but it doesn't. Again, when under IE, adobe flash works but I prefer Firefox.

In step one you would have downloaded that file, if Firefox is using the normal configurations you should find it in the same location where you download any other files.
To find out where Firefox downloads files, in the options window go to the general panel and it should show where files are downloaded to. Alternatively if Firefox stores the history of downloaded files, open the downloads window (you can do that by using keyboard shortcut Control+J), right-click on the install_flash_player.exe entry in the download window and select "Open containing folder"

  • JRE 1.5 plugin for Firefox on Linux works as root but not as an other user

I am trying to usel the JRE plugin for Firefox on Fedora Core 4. I downloaded and installed it as "root" and created the symbolic link so Firefox can "see" it. It now works just fine if I run Firefox as "root", but if I run it as any other user, it thinks that the plugin is not installed.
I checked to make sure that the path to the symbolic link is accessible by anyone (all directories in the path are x to "other" and the link and the .so file are both rx for "other").
What else do I need to do so non-root users can use this plugin?

remove $HOME/.mozilla/plugins and $HOME/.java and try again

  • Application working under NetBeans but not as a *.jar file

    Hello,
recently I found a little problem. I wrote application that shows all available ports in my computer. When I am running this applications under NetBeans it works with no problem - finds all available ports. Then I am building it to the *.jar file. Application is working with no problem but command:
    Enumeration PortIds = CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers();
is not returning any identifiers - PortIds is empty.
Anyone knows a solution for this type of problems? Thanks

    Hi Venkatesh,
    Few questions.
    1. What is your JDeveloper version? (Always better to post your JDev version along with the question, which would help us to help you better).
    2. Did you try adding webserviceclient.jar to the classpath? (Search in your JDev installation directory for the location of this jar file).

  • Adobe reader works with emails but not internet

Help! I have uninstalled earlier versions of Adobe reader and installed the latest version. The reason for this was that we can open PDF files when emailed to us, but can't open files on the web. We just get a blank page. Any ideas?

What's (likely) happening is that the HTML wrapper around the .swf isn't behaving... which causes Flash Player version detection to fail. Hit this test page at youtube - you should see an embedded movie with Flash Player version information.
    http://www.youtube.com/swf_test.html
You may find success by following the instructions in this tech-note for a complete uninstall... then re-install the latest FP.

  • ACS 4.1- shell command works under user but not group

    Hi,
This question might actually belong under tacacs server but it's only happening with the ACE.  I've configured tacacs on the 4710 and configured the tacacs server per the documentation. If I enter the shell:<context>*Admin default-domain under the group settings when I login with my tacacs ID my role is set to Network-Monitor.  If I set the shell in my specific tacacs ID I'm assigned the correct role as Admin.  We're running ACS ver 4.1 and the ACE is A4(1.1)
    Thanks

For the tacacs settings under the user settings make sure you select the radio button for "Use Group Level Setting" rather than just removing the av-pair.
    Thanks,
    Tarik

You can install it on two computers simultaneously, so uninstalling is not needed if it's the only other installation.

  • Flashplayer 11.7 works in Chrome but not in IE9 or 10.

Flashplayer 11.7 works in Chrome but not in IE9 or 10. Add-on enabled, ActiveX filtering is off. Uninstalled/reinstalled. I went through the adobe help checklist to no avail. Ideas??

What operating system are you using?  Is it 32 or 64 bit?  Given that the addon appears and is "enabled", you might want to try these steps:
How do I fix Windows permission problems with Flash Player?
In addition, are you using any virus/firewall software that might be interfering?  You might want to try rebooting in safe mode with networking enabled to see if Flash works under that scenario.
