Adobe InDesign Export Font problem

i use InDesign cs6 to work on magazine
and now when i try export the magazine to pdf [ Print ] i get this error
and when i try export to pdf [ Interactive ] i get this error
Anyone please can tell me how to avoids this error without change the font or make it outline .
Thanks alot

That is not an error, it's a fact. There is nothing you can do with this font unless you contact the vendor and find out if they have an embeddable version.
FWIW, I would never even consider using a font without embedding rights and converting to outlines is likely to be a violation of the font license as well.

  • Adobe InDesign CS4 fonts - where'd they go?

Using a PC.  I work for a municipal govt which finally upgraded me from adobe CS to CS4 this past year.  I mostly use InDesign for my work publications and was thrilled to have some new fonts with the new CS4 on my system (fonts like Baveuse, Blue Highway, Burnstown Dam, Carbon Block, Kredit, Earwig Factory, Hurry Up, Planet Benson2, Teen, Pupcat and more).
But within the last month, all of these particular fonts (and others) have totally disappeared.  I can't use them at all in InDesign now.  So how do I get them back?  Were these particular fonts on a certain install disk?  My IT dept reinstalled the entire suite yesterday, but it didn't bring back the missing fonts...
Also where are fonts supposed to be stored on my computer? (If they are supposed to be in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Fonts - there's nothing in this folder at all.)
I am by no means an expert with CS4, so if you can give me any help, please give it to me in layperson terms.  I'm trying to do the best I can here. I appreciate your responses in advance. Thanks!

Also where are fonts supposed to be stored on my computer? (If they are supposed to be in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Fonts - there's nothing in this folder at all.)
Well, you can put fonts there, just by dragging them off the disks and dropping them in to that folder - if you do that, then InDesign can use the fonts, but no other programs will be able to do so.
You didn't say which version of Windows you were using, but if you're using Windows 7, you can right-click on any font file and choose "Install" depending on your system settings. That will make the fonts available to all the programs on your computer, not just InDesign. If your IT department understands that you're an InDesign user who needs to be able to install fonts, that method will work. If it doesn't work, it'll give you an error message that is probably NOT "Hey, you're not allowed to install fonts" but "These font files are corrupt." If you see that, it probably means that your IT department has not given you the power of installing fonts, which means they'd need to do it.
In Windows XP, you actually have to navigate to the Fonts folder (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Fonts) and then choose File -> Install Font.

  • Adobe Indesign CS6 Fonts issue

    Dear Support,
We have performed a re-installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
We also had to re-install Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 as well as Adobe Indesign CS6 and Photoshop CS6.
We have installed all Windows Updates and all Adobe updates.
The problem we are experiencing is that Arial Narrow is detected by Indesign as a seperate font and not a family font.
This in turn is causing issues as we cannot select Arial Narrow Bold, Arial Narrow Bold Italic and Arial Narrow Italic.
The version of the font is 2.37.
I have read on previous posts that there are issues with font version 2.35 which is installed with Microsoft Office 2007 and there is a hotfix on Microsoft's website.
We cannot use this as stated above we use Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010.
Please inform if there is a hotfix to run from Adobe's Website or from Microsoft to resolve the above issue.
    All assistance is much appreciated.
    Kindest Regards.

    Moving to Indesign forum.
    Regards,

  • Message error from Adobe Indesign : Default font Substituted for missing do.

    Hello,
Message error from Indesign : Default font substituted for missing font
I am currently using version "Adobe InDesign CS6 Middle East," which normally supports the Arabic language ...
The problem is that the characters display correctly and others not! Especially this "font" called "MunaPlain", this version was created in 1996. (on the Internet, I could not find a new version!)
According to research, test... i have found that Mac OS X Lion that causes this error!
    My question is:
Is that I could uninstall Mac OS X Lion to return to an older version as MAC OS X Leopard?
Is there an update or plugin indesign for Arabic? (except ScribDoor, because in this case, it is useless)
    Thank you!

For questions regarding Adobe apps, it is probably really best to ask Adobe or use their forums:
    http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
I am amazed that an arabic font from 1996 would work correct anywhere today given the changes in technology that have occurred.  Is it really not possible for you to use a modern Unicode Arabic font for your work?  There are lots of them -- Apple gives you a half-dozen or so.  And there is a list at
    http://www.wazu.jp/gallery/Fonts_Arabic.html
Whether you can downgrade your os depends on your hardware.  If it came new with 10.7 installed, then it is not possible.

  • InDesign CS6 - fonts problems (Document fonts fight with system installed fonts, "font incomplete")

    hello
First, Indesign function to automatically open fonts from "Document fonts" folder is fantastic, quasy font manager. BUT, fonts is available ONLY for THAT indesign document, no other application can use it, even from CS6 suite. This is probably the most stupid decision about how this function must work. IDEALLY, fonts will be available for ALL application inside CS package until indd doc is closed. If I need some font for editing links in photoshop, illustrator I need to install them. This workflow have wrong concept.
We now have problem, sorry Indesign have problem. Example, I need type1 font mt-symbol for mathtype AND for Indesign. This font is installed in c:\windows\fonts folder. Everything work fine. When I make package from Indesign and reopen indesign indd document inside package, Indesign report that mt-symbol IS INCOMPLETE. WHY, BECAUSE CONCURENT FONTS from both C:\windows\fonts folder AND FROM "Document fonts" folder. If I rename "Document fonts" folder, Indesign open font only from system and everything work properly.
THIS IS BIG PROBLEM, fonts circles around workflow/folders and always will be duplicates in "document fonts" and system\fonts folder because different application need same fonts.
    Any solution?

Another problem with the Document Fonts folder that we just noticed: in CS5, you could place Windows Type 1 fonts (.pfm and .pfb) into the Document Fonts folder on a Mac and InDesign would activate them.
This no longer works in CS6. (Bug report filed.)
Huge bummer, as this was a great timesaver and workaround in a high-production prepress environment when working with old Windows files. Hopefully this was not an intentional change and will be restored in a later bugfix release, or at worst in CS7.

  • Weird Indesign CC font problem...

    Here's another one:
It seems that I am having problems with selecting fonts. When I choose a font via the menu-dropdown at the upper screen, it regularly won't change the selected text. But doing so in the dedicated floating text-window, however, does. And here's the kicker: The next time it will be vice versa, that is the text-window won't work, but the menu will. No matter if OTF, TTF or T1-fonts. Most recent updates all around, even after resetting preferences.
I mean, it's not like that is the least bit annoying in what is basically a type-setting software. :-). Does anybody know a fix for this?
Carbon/Cocoa or not, this all feels rather like a step back from CS6. PS CC didn't run at all at first, but now that it does, it feels more or less bug-free, but in ID, the longer you work with it, the more weirdness you find that just wasn't there in the previous version.
Has anybody had this weird behaviour as well or is it my system?

@Peter – thank you for fixing the link, didn't know it was screwed up…
Yes. This is a very scary and dangerous feature. I'm all with Brigitta Kahn in the comments section at Indesignsecrets:
    http://indesignsecrets.com/hover-scrolling-indesign-cc-feature-bug.php/comment-page-1#comm ent-622819
One of the things that makes me hesitate using InDesign CC at all.
And this feature is also in Illustrator CC and a few other CC products…

  • Adobe InDesign CS3 Installation Problem...Over One Year and Counting

Well, it's been over a year since I purchased the Pagemaker to InDesign upgrade. I've tried at lease 15 times to load the software with the same "shared components failed to install" errors.
I've tried the Web for answers, the Clean-up utility and even called the tech support line. The answer (after waiting at least an hour on the phone) was to back up all of my files (on my time, not theirs) and run the scrub utility with the "undocumented" option 4...but watch out...
As a user of Pagemaker for nearly 15 years, I can't believe that Adobe (formerly Aldus) would release a product that cannot be used. I spent a bit over $200 for the upgrade...they got my money...I got a DVD of software that cannot be installed successfully.
As a customer for over 3 versions of the Pagemaker software, I find it a bit odd that I would have to spend hours on my computer trying to get Adobe software to install properly.
Is it just me, or have others given up on this?

    > and even called
    > the tech support line. The answer (after waiting at least an hour on

And so what happened? I think Adobe is the first place you should go
with installation issues, and you should (and they should too) persist
until you get past the problem.
Tech support is a PITA. They make you do things you don't want to do
(like back up all your files on your own time); they make you jump
through silly hoops and crawl under the desk pulling parts out of your
computer; but they also have an obligation to get it working on your
    computer, whatever it takes.
Call them back. Get a number. Keep track of who you talk to. Ask them to
bump you up to the next level. Keep trying.

  • Adobe Flash CS4 Font Problem

    Hi
I am currently designing a banner in Flash CS4 for a website with falling snow animation etc. However, when I export it the text is not showing as the correct font. I have tried embedding the font but this still doesn't seem to be working. This is causing a big problem as it is for a client and the font I have used cannot be changed. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi kqlad
When it is in the test environment it is showing as the correct font as I have the font on my laptop. However, when I export it and send it to my collegue via e-mail it is not coming up as the correct font. Its coming up as a serif-font bit like times new roman, rather than the modern sans-serif font it should be.
    Thanks

  • Adobe InDesign Alternative Layouts - Problem

Hello, please, can you help me?
I want to use InDesign for a ebook. I use an alternative layout and wanted to save it as a PDF. But since the problems started. The PDF shows me now all alternative layouts (one after another), not only as the version for the tablet.
How can I make it so that I see on the tablet, use only the optimized version, but not even the PC version?
    Vielen Dank schon mal

  • Indesign interface font problems

hello, i recently purged my computer of most of my fonts and now this happens when i open up indesign - the interface fonts for adjusting values, sizes, etc. is some kind of font that I have a hard time reading. any way to change it back?
    thanks!

Also if you want to slim down on the fonts installled on your system a program like Font Explorer X Pro is a great choice that allows you to keep all your fonts but not installed unless a program asks for it then FXP will activate it.

  • Adobe Indesign CC crash problem

I am having trouble with my Indesign CC application.
Everytime I try to launch the app (this was after trying to open a document previous worked on in Indesign CS5), just as it starts opening up, it brings up the message "restore windows" and "don't restore windows". Irrespective of what I do, it crashes after that everytime. I have already tried removing the cache files and putting them into the trash bin temporarily. I have also tried uninstalling and re-installing the app, as well deleting the existing preferences file.
Should I send you the error code as well - would that help?

  • How do I get Adobe InDesign CS6 to export non-pixelated PNGs?

I am having trouble exporting PNGs from Adobe Indesign. The problem is they become very pixelated once they have been exported to PNG. However, when I export to JPEG, there is no pixelation, they look perfect! Has anyone else had this problem?
I need to export them as PNGs because some pages have transparency effects, which JPEG doesn't support.
Is this a bug in Adobe InDesign CS6? Is it a configuration option that I can change?
Below I have provided sample screenshots of the JPEG and PNG files, along with the export settings I used.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To demonstrate this problem, I've uploaded a sample InDesign project which still exhibits the same PNG export problem:
Click here to download my sample InDesign project.
If anyone is able to generate a non-pixelated PNG from this sample InDesign project, please let me know how you did it.

  • Same old font problem..installed fonts not displaying..

I have been searching everywhere for a resolution to this problem, and while it's reported frequently, and there are various suggestions, I haven't found anything that works.  Any advice would be appreciated.
The problem is that fonts that are installed on my computer do not display in Indesign but they do in other windows applications.  Even more bizarre, Photoshop displays some of the ones that Indesign doesn't, but not all.  In this particular case (although I am discovering other fonts) the main ones that are missing that are HUGHLY problematic are Arial Narrow and Arial Narrow Bold!!!
    Information:
Using Windows Vista...did have to install a new harddrive, and I don't think this has worked properly since I did that, but did work on original harddrive.  However, had the same problem on an XP machine a few years ago.
Indesign CS3...have verified that I have all updates.
Have deleted the fntcache.dat in windows and recreated it...no luck.
I tried copying the fonts to the Adobe font folder...still didn't work.
Installed FontValidator (from Windows I think) and ran it against my Arial files.  It does show some errors/warning but I don't know what they mean.  Several 'calculations didn't match...'.   I can get the logs if this will help anyone.
Installed a font manager X-Fonter and have been loading/unloading and installing/uninstalling the fonts.  I've moved fonts to external drives and deleted them.  Anything I can think of in this arena..no luck.
I copied my Arial font files from an XP machine to the VISTA machine and again...no luck.
I apologize that I believe that this issue has been discussed to death, but nothing.  I submitting a report to Adobe, but don't have high hopes of having a response.  Any one know what to do with this?  Is there a real way to tell if a font is corrupted?
    thanks in advance!

I had to do a few extra things after applying the hotfix to resolve this issue on my PC (XP SP2 & CS3).
First, I followed the suggested workaround found at: http://indesignsecrets.com/hotfix-corrects-arial-narrow-problem-on-windows.php
    Pointed browser to: http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=956514&kbln=en-us
Downloaded hotfix "2007 Microsoft Office System".
    Ran hotfix.
Searched hard disk for adobefnt*.lst and deleted all files found.
I performed these steps and still had no results. I tried a few things, but the following steps are what finally resolved the issue:
    Navigated to the Windows\Fonts folder.
Selected the following files and did Edit/Copy
    Arial (TrueType)
    Arial Bold (TrueType)
    Arial Bold Italic (TrueType)
    Arial Italic (TrueType)
    Arial Narrow (TrueType)
    Arial Narrow Bold (TrueType)
    Arial Narrow Bold Italic (TrueType)
    Arial Narrow Italic (TrueType)
    Navigated to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS3\Fonts
Did an Edit/Paste to paste the fonts into that folder.
(There was a file there called AdobeFnt11.lst; apparently it wasn't found in the global search on my hard disk, so I just deleted it.)
    Navigated to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts
Did an Edit/Paste to paste the fonts into this folder as well.
For some reason I had to paste the new fonts (applied in the hotfix) into both of the folders above before it would work.
Anyway, for what it's worth, this resolved the issue on my PC.
