Adobe Inserts the wrong file

I am creating a new PDF document by combining existing PDF files. When I go to insert one file it keeps inserting a different file. The preview picture of the file I am trying to insert is correct.
I have tried restarting my computer. Deleting the file I want to insert and remaking that file. Also, I renamed the file as something else. None of these have worked.

Are these fill-in forms?
Is it filling in the "wrong" form which you've already inserted?
If so, this is as expected. If you combine forms with the same field names, you can only have one value per name.

I shoot with a Canon 7D, have Windows 7 installed on my computer, Adobe CS4 (Bridge & Photoshop). I'm trying to open the CR2 files in Bridge to adjust them before I open them up in Photoshop, but it's giving me an error code saying it's the wrong file type. I downloaded the latest updates for Adobe Raw as well as the DNG converter, however I don't want to have to convert to DNG before opening in Bridge. Please let me know what I can do to open the CR2 files directly in Bridge CS4, thank you!

I have a question about extracting pages.  When I do the function, adobe saves the individual files as "<file name><space><page number>", so the files look like this "filename 1.pdf", "filename 2.pdf", "filename 3.pdf".  Without too many gory details, I am using excel to concatenate some data to dynamically build a hyperlink to these extraced files.  It casues me problems, however, for the space to be the the file name.  Is there any way to change the default behavoir of this function to perhaps use a dash or underscore instead of a space?

No, you can't change the default naming scheme. You can do it yourself if you extract the pages using a script instead of using the built-in command.

  • Launching Microsoft Access from Internet Explorer to view a downloaded MDB file opens the wrong file (not a problem if I use Firefox)

When clicking on a link (in Internet Explorer 9) to download an Access MDB file and then choosing to open the file directly in Microsoft Access (2007) instead of saving it, the file is copied to Temporary Internet Files but Microsoft Access tries to open
a different file and displays an (Unrecognized database format) error.
When I click on the option to open the file, the MDB file is copied to Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 but instead of that file, Access tries to open a different (incorrect) file located in Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO (e.g. in the above error
message, NativeView.do is an XML file containing an error message).
I don't see this problem with Word, Excel or PowerPoint files. When opening a Word file (without saving) the Word file is copied to Content.IE5 but an identical .tmp file is created in Content.MSO which when opened in Microsoft Word displayed the required file
correctly. The same happens for Excel files. PowerPoint appears to be handled a little differently (no .tmp file created in Content.MSO but the required file is still copied to Content.IE5) but the PPT file is still opened correctly in Microsoft PowerPoint.
I think the Content-Type "application/msaccess" is fine because Internet Explorer does launch Microsoft Access. It just tries to open the wrong file (or so I think). However, it looks like the file type is not being determined. Here is what I noticed
when trying to open different Microsoft Office files using Internet Explorer:
The last one is the MDB file. As you can see, only for this type of file, the "Type" (Microsoft Office Access 2007?) is not displayed in this Open/Save dialog box.
On Firefox, I don't see this problem. When I tried clicking on the link to the MDB file in Firefox, Microsoft Access was launched and the file was opened correctly. Is there something I can do so the MDB file is opened properly using IE? I can add/change headers
in the HTTP response that writes this file to the output stream (on disk) if that helps.
    Thanks for your time!

Sounds like a problem symptom to be discussed in either an IE forum or an Access forum, not here.  How did you come to post here?  ForumsRedesign.  That might be an on-topic issue for this forum.  <eg>
Can you find your way to either of those other forums easily from here?  Another on-topic question for here I think.   ; )

  • [SOLED] Firefox input type = file selects the wrong file

When I have use a webpage in firefox that has an upload feature, Firefox often selects the wrong file. I can reproduce this problem by simply creating a form with an input tag like this:
    <input type="file" />
When I enter the file selection screen and open fileA the input box contains fileA, fileB or fileC. It seems kind of random to me. I use KDE 4.5 btw, if that matters.

It seems to be some kind of kde problem. When I delete ~/.kde4/share/config/* it works fine. I tried deleting the all files in share/config starting with a-m and it still didn't work. Then I deleted every file from n-z and it didn't work so it's probably a combination of files that give these problems. I don't feel like setting up KDE all over again so damn, it's back to Icewm, again...

    Hi,
The readLine() method can throw an IOException. You'll need to catch it as follows:
    try
    catch ( BadOpt e )
    System.out.println( e.BadOpt(option) ) ;
    catch ( IOException e )
    System.out.println( e.getMessage() ) ;
    }Hope this helps,
    Kurt.

  • Adding the wrong file into your project.  How do i recover

Did you ever work on a project and for some reason store audio files in the wrong location or move so your project does not play back correctly.
    I just did that.
Basically I found the right files and where there located but one of the files I found and added back, seems to be the wrong file. The problem is now that I told logic were to locate the file it saves it automatically. How do I click on a different audio file from another location, and put it in place (same location) of where the change need to be made.
    Hope i didn't confuse anyone.

You are using 'Save As Project' aren't you? If not, you should, and set the copy options to taste, but certainly your unique files for that project. Also check out the manual about 'Consolidate' Projects.
Having done that, if you have a region in your arrangement with the wrong audio file, then delete it, and pencil tool-shift-click where you want it to be. A file dialog will open from which you can pick the correct file. It will load where you clicked.
Be careful when you clean up projects, or select-delete unused from the audio window, in case you delete a file used in another song. Always better to have too many copies than not enough…

  • 2005 Help center is it complete or is it the wrong file..?

  • Firefox downloads a file with the wrong file extension. How can I fix this?

The title says it all. When I download files, it comes out with the wrong extension, not sure what extension it comes out as.
It actually just comes out as "file."
How can I fix this? Is there something in about:config I can tweak to eliminate this error?

    Hi dartz!
This type of problems are not related with the browser you are using, in this case, Firefox. This issues are the consequence of the way that the website "packed" the file.
What you should do is download the file, locate the file, give right click on the file and select "Rename". Now, don't change the name!!! Just add "." and then the extension that you wanted. Example, you download the file "norwegianwood", after renaming it, it should read "norwegianwood.srt".
Hope this works for you, take care!

  • Tif file problem with the wrong file showing up

In W7 64-bit PPro CS 5.01 I have a problem that shows up sometimes on SD NTSC projects.
It happens when I have a number of Tif files that are used with Luma-key as graphic overlays on video clips, They are all made in Photoshop with 0-0-0 black backgrounds. They sometimes show up on the timeline as the wrong tif file. I've checked them and even reloaded them (from another computer) and it continues to happen. If I have ten files, the first few work fine, but suddenly all the rest I try to add all show up in the video as the previous tif file that was overlayed on the video clips. I've tired rebooting and to no avail.
Has anyone else had a problem like this?

    Thanks All,
If 5.03 is just like 5.01 in behaviour with just some bug fixes I think I will.
But just a note: I tried 5.5 and I didn't like how it handled the red/green line render-issue. It was always all yellow and seemed slower than 5.01. So I backed it out and have been mostly happy since. It fits my workflow. The Mecury render business seems like a waste of the 800 bucks for the video graphics card I used too. I'm glad it wasn't just me noticing some little bugs in 5.01
One other thing 5.03 might fix too. Sometimes if I take a long break, and come back to work, the program seems to go to sleep. When I click on a few things some of the panels go all white. Would that be a bug too? At first I thouhgt it was the external HD I use fro each new project. Maybe not?

  • LR4 The wrong file information in the preview loupe

I have not seen this mentioned in the forums but I keep getting a bug where the file information displayed in the preview window gets 'stuck'. The information sometimes hangs with that of a previous image. Ie it doesn't relate to the current image but a previous one I have viewed.
Any one else found this? It's a bit of an anoying bug!

Faces has identified the wrong person.
Actually iPhoto does not identify people - iPhoto suggests and you confirm or reject so you confirmed incorrectly (which happens to all of us)
How do I re-assign to the correct person?
double click on the photo to open it and click on "name" and type the correct name for the person
Mary and Jane are in a group picture and have been identified by iPhoto, not me.
In Mary's Faces album, Jane's picture is the thumbnail. In a way, the group picture is correct. I would rather have all of Mary's thumbnails show Mary.
The choice offered by iPhoto is accept or reject. Going into Edit for the pictures does not give the option to identify faces.
If you reject the person will remain un-named- and in the confirm names mode (starting with version 8.0.2) if you right click (control click) on the photo you can accept, reject or name
I am reluctant to reject because the group picture may not show up again.
You can always make a smart album with name is unnamed and find all photos with unnamed people (started in version 8.0.2)

  • Every time I download a CD it goes into the wrong file on PC

I have just decided after many many months to update my iPod. I have had huge problems trying to locate the the music files and found most of them in a Compilations folder. I so don't want that - so I have had to copy them all over and then go back and delete from Compilations then back into itunes to locate the new path. Finally sorted it but I still have the problem when downloading a CD - it automatically sets up a Compilations folder - how do I stop that? What I would like is for the folder to be either the name of the CD or the name of the Artist. I have searched the settings as best I can but can't find anything to help with this. Some double CD's go 1 disc into the CD name and the other No. 2 disc into Compilations. Very annoying. Once I have this sorted I would like to do a new complete back up - any help with that too would be good - will be backing up to memory stick. Any help much appreciated. Carol

*I would like to to change it so that nothing defaults back to a Compilation folder*
The CDs you are importing appear to be tagged as compilations, there's no setting in iTunes that is causing them to default. All you can do is check the CDs before you import them to make sure that if they are not actually compilations you change the information. If they are compilations then obviously it would make sense to leave them be.
You might want to set the compilations option for the iTunes Browser so you can easily locate and play tracks from compilation CDs. Open iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>general and check the option "Group compilations when browsing". If you turn on Browsing from View>Show Browser or from the browser "eye" icon in the bottom right of your iTunes window Compilations will appear at the top of the Artist list. Click on Compilations and the compilation albums will will appear in the album pane.
*I have also just done a straight forward copy of the iTunes folder over to a memory stick - is that ok for a back up?*
Yes, if you are keeping all your music files etc. in the iTunes Music Folder then copying the entire iTunes folder will capture it and the library files. Copying the whole folder and it's contents will give you a complete copy of the iTunes files at that point in time.
