Hi I just purchased an iMac and did not realize they no longer come with DVD/CD drives. I have already purchased the adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 and have it on a disc. I am trying to avoid purchasing the Apple Superdrive. Since this version of the creative suite is no longer available for download on your site, I was hoping you could provide me with a link to where I could download it and then use my product key to complete the installation? Create an ISO of the disc on a computer with a disc drive, copy it to a USB stick, and use this free virtual disc drive application to mount the ISO from the USB stick:

Power outage - HDD Problem - How to reinstall without disc drive?

Hi there,
due to a power outage the journalling of the hdd of the mac mini server running Snow Leopard Server is corrupt and repairing was impossible. I've got to reinstall the system now somehow, but the mac mini doesn't come with a disc drive. I tried to create a bootable USB stick but that didn't work for the server version of Snow Leopard. I really need help with this ... Any ideas?

Disc Drive rejects DVD-RW & DVD+RW discs

the drive on my macbook accepts dvd-rw and dvd+rw discs but can't read them and subsequently ejects the discs. how do i solve this problem? please help as i have a bunch of these discs.

I was signed in with download assistant, no just in at adobe.com... I've tried different perferences and settings but when I click on the links nothing seems to happen. I've been messing around with this for a few hours now and it dawned on me that it may have something to do with my internet. I live outside the city- totally nice for gardening, totally terriable for internet thus I have a verizon data plan and not unlimited internet, I think possibly verizon is shutting it down because of restrictions I have on my data. This type of thing also happened when I upgraded to Mavericks. The file itself was larger than my month's data so it seemed like it wouldn't initiate the download... I don't know for sure if it is the same problem here but if you're telling me that you are having more successful results than I am that might be the reason.
I'll take my computer to work or to my mom's house or somewhere where I can have unlimited access and see if I have any better success.

No need to buy an optical drive and don't try transferring, it rarely works.

How do I clean my hard drive to re-sell without a working disc drive?

I have macbook pro snow leopard. I wanted to clean my hard drive so all my files, informaion, and password get deleted so I can re-sell it. The problem is even though I have the installation disc, my disc drive isn't working... I tried putting my usb disc drive I got from apple, but the computer can't recognize it.

The easiest way to erase the HDD on the older MBP is to connect it to your newer MBP with a Firewire cable and set up Target disk mode. Open Disk Utility>Erase on the controlling MBP and erase the Target MBP HDD.
