ADOBE Interactive form integration in Netweaver

I have installed the Netweaver Developemnt Studi0 2.0.5 from SDN. When I checked the installation log it gives the some of the ADOBE form designer componet files  are missing from the initial source file extract(ZIP). Did anybody experienced the same problem ? Any Help/Suggestios ???

Hello Velu,
we have resolved the legal issues (it was around export of encryption technology) and the Adobe technology (incl. the Adobe Designer) embedded in Web AS 6.40 will be in the next version of the Web AS trial version, which will be probably available for download in October or November. It is also available in the regular version of NetWeaver 04 (currently in ramp-up).
The Adobe Designer and also the Adobe document services shipping with NetWeaver have specific integrations with Dev Studio and Web AS.

  • Saving an Adobe Interactive Form without dialog in background

    Hi'
I hope someone here can help us.
Our client uses an R/3 system, version 4.6C, where data for the Interactive form is generated.
We use an RFC call to send the data to a NetWeaver system.
The RFC generates our Adobe Interactive form in the NetWeaver system.
We need to save the generated PDF file onto a harddrive in this background processing ( in the RFC ) immidiately after the file has been generated.
Any ideas as to how we save the file?
    Regards,
    Karin.

Here's one way I could think of doing it. Not sure if it's the most efficient. There may be some function modules out there....
You write a small program to print an Adobe form from the RFC.
Before you call Job open (CALL FUNCTION 'FP_JOB_OPEN'
), set the following parameters of
    sfpoutputparams.
Set the outputparamaters to suppress the dialog
    utputparams-nodialog = 'X'.
Set to print to a dummy printer
    outputparams-dest = 'LP01'.
    Set a spool request
      outputparams-REQNEW = 'X'.
Then you can call a program like rstxpdft4 to download the PDF file.

    Lavaughn

  • Developing Adobe Interactive forms in SAP R/3 4.7

I have a client requirement of developing Adobe Interactive forms for automating exisiting manual processes. The SAP version being used is SAP 4.72.
Could anyone please let me know what all is required to implement it and how that can be done in brief.
One of the related links to the topic without much details is 4.7 and Adobe Interactive Forms.
If anyone has worked with such requirement, his inputs would be valuable

    Hi,
You will have to use WD Java for integrating Interactive forms with SAP version 4.7
NetWeaver developer Studio ( NWDS) is the tool used for this integration. Data can be passed from SAP to WD Java using RFCs.
This link will be useful for you:

  • Migrating PCR frontend-JSP forms to Adobe interactive forms-WD Abap Comp

    Hi All,
We are currently on Netweaver 7.0 & ECC 6.0 and ESS - MSS Business Package 50.4. We are using JSP Forms on portal front for Personnel Change Requests (PCR's ) where in all the scenarios in the backend are heavily customized with good amount of usage of Javascripts. For certain scenarios, where in a huge amount of information is fetched from ECC 6.0 backend system, JSP are performing really bad and the total time taken to display the form is actually causing a lot of irritation to the end user.
We are planning to propose an upgrade to SAP adobe interactive forms. The prerequisite is that the business wants to reuse all the customized scenarios without any changes and just want to move towards better front end forms.
    My questions are:
    1. Please list benefits of SAP Adobe interactive forms - ABAP component over JSP forms (performance wise)
    2. Issues with SAP Adobe Interactive forms?
    3. Since Javascripts do not work in Webdynpro ABAP. How can we implement those front end checks and validations.
    3. Any other options available for UI that can be suggested?
All suggestions are welcome. Quick response is appreciated.
Thanks a lot for your time and help.
    Best Regards,
    Anupama

Is your performance issue with the Javascript with JSP pages?  or the Java script you are using within the Adobe form in your WDJ custom application using Adobe form? I have worked on PCR's using ISR framework old school it used to call as PCR and now HCM Processes and form, Developed PCR's using WDJ also integrated workflow with the WDJ PCR for approval(we never had any performance issue) infact ISR frame work was kind of slow compare to custom WDJ solution and less flexible for a developer to develop.
I have also worked created WDA custom application for PCR's , WDA is definitely better when you compare it with WDJ but I have not seen much performance issue with WDJ atleast on custom PCR solutions.
I don't have any case study to share with you, can you please tell what kind of PCR's your client is using and what kind of performance issue you are experiencing and where and why you guys are using Javascript.

  • Adobe Interactive Forms without Web Dynpro and ACF???

Hi All, we would like to build an interactive forms solution based on the Adobe software integrated into WAS. However, the customer requires a true thin client application with no additional installation on the client. Integrating Adobe Interactive Forms into Web DynPro however requires the Active Component Framework (ACF) to be installed since these forms are integrated into the page within an ActiveX container.
So the question is whether there is a way to use Adobe Interactive forms including the Adobe Documents Service within WAS but without(!) using Web Dynpro?(the full blown Adobe LifCycle Forms solution is not an option). Any suggestions on this are highly appreciated!
    Tanks!
    Frodo

    Hello everyone,
I would like to add a couple of points from the SAP Product Management perspective.
Adobe has a number of stand-alone products that are the foundation for what SAP can now offer thanks to our partnership. This is exactly why we decided on a partnership that provides us with established technology, which is now integrated.
It is true that Web Dynpro is the main SAP way of integrating the interactive functions of the solution. We made this decision consciously, because the development and run-time environments provide very useful features that reduce the need for manual coding, such as the possibility of passing the data back to the backend using the Web Dynpro context. The automatism we offer here needs to be implemented from scratch with any other solution, including the Adobe stand-alone one.
While it is true that the ACF constitutes a certain limitation for the reasons you mention, Adobe will remedy this in 2005. The Reader/Web Dynpro integration will be available later this year for multiple platforms (OS, browsers) and will not require ACF anymore.
If you do not want to use a full-blown Web Dynpro application for your concrete scenario, consider developing an application that provides nothing but the interactive PDF form to the end user, to be filled in using the stand-alone Reader. The submit of the form data (with or without the PDF itself) could then happen via HTTP or e-mail.
    Kind regards,

  • How to invoke HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form

    Hi all,
I am using Adobe Livecycle Designer stand-alone (without Netweaver integration), currently a trial 8.2 version.
I need to invoke an HTTP Web Service (non-SOAP) in an Adobe Interactive Form. The Net.HTTP method does not work due to security reasons. The error message I get is:
    (german)
" NotAllowedError: Sicherheitseinstellungen verhindern den Zugriff auf diese Eigenschaft oder Methode.
    Net.HTTP.request:28:XFA:form1[0]:mysubform[0]:Region[0]:change"
In english this translates to: "Security settings prohibit the call of this property or method.
And indeed the "Javascript for Acrobat API reference" includes the following note:
"Note:This method can only be made outside the context of a document (for example, in a folder level JavaScript)."
So this method seems to be excluded from use in an Adobe document, e. g. in an interactive form. But why is it then listed at all? Is there a way to call HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form by somehow branching out the call outside the document itself? Of course I do not want to call a SOAP service which then calls the HTTP Web Service
Is there any other way to invoke HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form?
Thanks a lot for your response!
    Regards
    Christoph

    Hi,
back again, had to handle other issues, sorry.
Just to get a little more concrete. The condition depends on the context node attributes. So if an attribute is initial, it's field should not been shown, if it's not initial, it should ne shown. There are 6 context attributes and therefore 6 fields in the form. How can I get the attributes' value?
And can I put them into the same subform or do I have to create 7 (6 conditions + blank-condition) subforms?
I put the fields (textfield and context node value) that should be shown depending on conditions in a subform. So how can I adress this subform?
I'm not so familiar with JavaScript, so please help me. I need something like:
    if (context_node_attribute X is initial) {
             subform_1.presence = "hidden" ;
    I tried it with
    if ( ARB_STUNDEN.rawValue != null) {
         Beratungsstunden.presence = "hidden" ;
    but it didn't work....
    Thanks,
    Tan

  • Smartforms or Adobe Interactive Forms?

    Hello Folks,
my client currently are beginning the decision making process to replace all of their current Jetform based SAP printing solution to a newer more stable solution - and they are interested in the possible options available.
Note that this is a major project as we have to migrate all documents (invoices, orders, POs, account statements etc) defined in multi languages and versions. Currently we are running SAP4.6C - but there is the possibility of an upgrade in the near future too.
To me the most stable alternative right now appears to be SAP smartforms - as this is a tried, proven and well integrated technology. Now I read here about the possibilities offered by Adobe interactive forms - and that from 6.40 onwards they will be integrated into the ABAP workbench. It is not clear to me though if Adobe interactive forms are intended to replace Smartforms or if they are merely an alternative approach - and what the pros and cons are of each technique.
Also it is not clear to me how well Adobe forms can be integrated with standard NAST table style output control - is it possible to integrate adobe forms to the standard output control?
What we are really concerned with is that we spend a lot of effort migrating to Smartforms only to find out that it is yesterdays technology and that we subsequently have to remigrate to Adobe interactive forms...
Can anyone there at SAP or on SDN provide any advice as to the pros and cons of the Smartform solution when compared with Adobe interactive forms, and any advice you can offer as to which solution to opt for in our migration project?

    Hi Julian,
it sounds to me that all your current forms are output forms (for printing, faxing, e-mailing, etc.) i.e. non-interactive.
Interactive Forms based on Adobe software is SAP's new solution for forms development. Its first release has the focus on interactive use of forms. High-volume printing is supported in principle, but - being a new solution - the performance has not yet reached the same level as Smart Forms or SAPscript, two established solutions that had years to grow. Interactive Forms is the only solution that will continue to be enhanced with new features, while SAPscript and Smart Forms will be supported without limitations.
When (or if) to move to Interactive Forms depends on your requirements. For interactive forms usage, i.e. the new functions, you have no choice, as the existing solutions don't support it. High-volume print scenarios need to be carefully analyzed to see whether your concrete requirements can be met at this point.
However, it is possible to move to Smart Forms and design your forms in such a way that a migration at any point in the future would be but a small step. Smart Forms offers from Web AS 6.40 a migration wizard to Interactive Forms. Technically, everything can be migrated, but we recommend against things like ABAP program nodes, for example.
You are not forced to ever go to Interactive Forms if you don't want to. It really depends on whether your client needs any of the new features in Interactive Forms. Also, if they are currently working with JetForms, they could enquire with Adobe directly what migration path they offer to the joint solution.
    Hope this helps.

    Markus Meisl

  • Submit button on Adobe Interactive form does not send data back to ABAP

The integration of my ABAP View and Adobe works fine getting data into the form. The form is interactive and I am able to change the data. I am using ZCI and the XML Context. I display the FirstName attribute both on the ABAP View, and the Adobe Form. When I press the SUBMIT button the first time, it disables that button, but the ABAP View is not updated. I have an ONACTION event, but it doesn't get triggered at all.
    Here are my specs:
    Adobe Reader 8.1.1. Local
    Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.01.3250.1.491864
    NetWeaver 7.0 SP19
HR Support Pack 48 and Enhancement Pack 2

    Hi all,
I assume the ZCI script included in the form (800.20070410093956.383622.376748 ) is too old (I guess it's from SP13 or14).
In general, I propose the following to analyze/fix these kind of problems (Web Dynpro ABAP only):
    1. Check the tracefile (available from SAP NetWeaver 700 SP19): Add "&sap-wd-clientDebug=X" to the application URL and open the trace by typing <CTRL><ALT><SHIFT>T (see note 999998 too):
-> Watch for an entry "Got a message from Adobe Reader: zciReady 1: 2: 3:". If this line doesn't appear => ZCI script too old, go on with step 2
-> Watch for an entry "Got a message from Adobe Reader: zciVersion 1: 800....". That's the version of the ZCI script included in the form
-> Watch for entries containing "sendDataToServer" and "responseFromServer": If you can't find these entries, something went wrong transferring the form data to the ABAP server: Watch out for entries containing "Error", there might be a network problem.
    2. Execute report FP_PDF_TEST_00 to find out the used ADS version: The corresponding ADS version of SP19 is 800.20090130093518.519793 or 800.20090608122643.560369 (look at the second part of the version string. It's a timestamp: The ZCI script included in the form is from April 2007, the ADS version of SP19 is from January/June 2009!
-> Update the ADS or patch the ADS (see notes 999998, 1229392 and 956074)
    3. optional step: Have a look at note 999998, section "related notes" (this is the complete list of available notes for Web Dynpro ABAP Interactive Forms integration): Install all notes available for your release/SP - or even better: Update SAP NetWeaver (SAP_BASIS) to the latest available SP
    4. Update the ZCI script of the form using transaction SFP_ZCI_UPDATE
    5. Repeat step 1, I'm pretty sure that it will work now!
    Regards,
    Ralf

  • Requriements for Adobe interactive forms on client

    Dear Adobe experts,
What kind of requriements / software should where be installed on the end-users PC to get the Adobe interactive forms to work proberly. We wound like to use it together with web dynpro for ABAP as well.
Are there any diffrences if the form aint is interactive(less requriements?)
Currently my client has Adobe 6.0.1 03-11-2003 installed on there PCs - is this a problem?
    Any answer will be great!
    Lars

SAP recommends to install the latest version of Adobe Reader, i.e. 7.0.8.
The ACF is required if you intend to run scenarios using interactive forms (not only for print) in a Web Dynpro online application. The ACF enables communication between Web Dynpro and Reader.
SAP will ship a non-ActiveX integration using HTTP with NW 2004s. Final test are being run at the moment. Shipment is currently planned for SPS 10. (Note that this can change.)

  • Adobe Interactive Form in Blackberry?

    Hi Everybody,
I had designed a Adobe Interactive form in webdynpro for java in netweaver developer studio. Now i want to run the url of this application in blackberry browser.
Actually I am able to run the webdynpro for java applications in blackberry simulator by executing the generated url of the webdynpro applications. But when I am trying the same with webdynpro for java application which contains adobe interactive form, blackberry is unable to display the form in browser.
Please help me out with some procedure to do so. Will "dochawk" or "reqwireless webviewer" will help. if so please give the clarrification.
    Thanks in advance,
    best regards,
    Madhu.

    Hello Madhu,
To show a PDF on your blackberry hand held device, you would need a micro edition
of Acrobat Reader installed on the device. As far as i know, there is no such Reader available in the market as of now from Adobe. Hence, your scenario can not be realized.
Web Dynpro can render itself on the blackerry because Web Dynpro's html client generates "html" output which is understandable by the blackberry browser.
    Best Regards,
    Krish

    Hello Bhavik:
Thank you, for your quick response.  To be honest, I went through the tutorial from SAP TechEd, "Creating Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro for JAVA, and it is drving me crazy.
I did create under the Contect actually Value Node:
DataSource and within that two Value Node for PersonalData and TravelData.  For PersonalData, the following Value Attribute: CostCenter, Department, Name etc etc........
The properties is already set for the value attributes to string, I tried to change it to init it will not take it?
Please call me Amr.  Thank you,
