Adobe is Destroying a Previously Great Company, Yes?

Here is my story in brief - Since last Friday I have been attempting to get Creative Suite to activate to no avail.  After 5 calls (over 2 hours) to various departments at Adobe, the problem remains unresolved.  This is despite an email I received saying that my issue had indeed been remedied.  At this point I can't even get a human on the phone to sort out what is happening after spending over an hour on hold today.  From what I have seen on forums, this problem seems to be widespread with complete disarray within their customer service departments.  This is costing me time and money.
In my career, I have purchased well over 50 fully licensed versions of various Adobe products for myself or the companies I have been with.  Until the last few versions, activation has been a painless process.  It seems now however that Adobe is taking to a Microsoft approach to the treatment of their loyal customers with a "so what, go ahead and go elsewhere if you dare" attitude.
These activation schemes may appear to be a way to deal with software piracy, but treating their loyal and paying customers with such hostility, both actively and passively, will destroy the company much faster than the threat posed by truly "illegal activations."  Why?
1. Customers and users of Adobe products will start using other solutions when the full power of Creative Suite applications is not required (which is often the case for various tasks in a particular work flow.  This will translate to less licenses of Adobe products being purchased.  I already know of one high end and fairly well know production house that is doing just that due to this very reason.
2. It opens up the market for other entrants to come in and take advantage of the frustration with Adobe.  If there was every a time for Apple or a similar company to release a competitor to creative suite, it is now.  Adobe maintaining this ridiculous activation scheme (not to mention the near forcing of expensive upgrades every year or two) will make switching to a competent competitor a welcomed inconvenience.
Another note to Adobe - The true pirates of Adobe software don't actually activate it, they just hack it.  Like so many things in society, this just screws the good guys (which wouldn't be as much of a problem if customer service actually served the customers with any degree of competence).
Please respond to this post with your comments; maybe Adobe will listen.  Also, Adobe has my email if they care to attempt to assist me with my personal problem - But please don't direct me to another phone number that will leave me on hold for hours, not resolve my problem when you say you have, or otherwise waste my time.  In the meantime, I will be using an older system while I explore alternates.

I too, would have to agree with your statement, after two months of trying to get my cs3 program to reinstal on my computer - I have had no success although I have had many suggestions of steps to take, none have worked and have been waiting for over 1 month to get an FTP link to download program via internet - apparently their link  is not working.  Adobe's latest suggestion is that I upgrade to CS4 and then they can send me that link - really, why do they think I would want to give them more money with no guarantee of different results. I am truley frustrated and at the point of taking it to my state government department to follow it through. I cannot work professionally without it and do not have an alternative. They have me over a barrel and seem indifferent to this.
