  • I have Adobe X1 ver 11.0.7 installed on my iMac, when I download a .pdf and try to print it the printer preview is blank, only way is to take screen shots, is this me or an Adobe issue?

On my iMac OS-X 10.9.3 I am able to view a downloaded .pdf in my browser , if however I want to print out the .pdf via the File tab and Print in Safari, the message comes up that Adobe either does not support this format, or it s corrupted as an attachment to an email.  I have tried saving it  to my desktop by exporting it as a .pdf, or saving it to the desktop.  In both cases when I try to open it, I get the same message.
Found that the only way I can save the data is to take a screen shot to my desktop and then I can print it out, but cripes what a pain!
Any suggestions would be welcome, is this me or an Adobe issue?

If you are printing to physical printer from Safari : Use Reader print button from Reader toolbar
If you want to save a PDF from Safari to your local : Use Reader Save button from the Reader toolbar.
PS: if you have PDF in read mode the  hover the mouse at the bottom of the page and the floating Reader toolbar will appear.
Please let me know if this solves your issue.

  • When will Adobe issue an update to Camera Raw to include the Olympus E-M 5 MARK II camera?

When will Adobe issue an update to Camera Raw for CS6 and Lightroom 5 to include the Olympus E-M 5 MARK II camera, does anyone know?

What I wonder is when folks will start researching their favorite software BEFORE buying a new camera model?
I have never seen a cart pulling a horse!!
We know the our software, we know the new camera will be 'ahead' of updates. its the time between that we all seem to just accept. We should not.
We can go round in circles pointing fingers as to who is to 'blame', thats not the point. The point is, no matter how far you go back, since the advent of digital this has been a problem. Posting on all web sites as far back as I remember contain "when will there be RAW support for xyz?". There are even some on this site back in 2006 asking the same question.
The interdependent link between camera makers & software vendors is not working properly. They need each other yet don't support each other. Do you think Adobe thought up DNG just as a exercise? From memory it was an attempt to standardize, with an open code, a raw format that was universal. I blame Canikon for not wholeheartedly supporting it. Then the Oly, Panny alliance come along with MFT, an ideal opportunity, but proprietary issues prevail as if they got some sort of advantage from it. They don't IMO.
Sorry for the rant, got carried away! Its just so frustrating.

  • Error opening  document. file is damaged  Would this be an Adobe issue or a MAC issue?

I cannot open PDFs attached to my Mac Mail messages. The following pops up:"There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." Would this be an Adobe issue or a MAC issue?

It very possibly can be an email issue. Some email providers encode files to make transfer faster. When pdf files are decoded, it could break them.
The first thing to try if you haven't already is to save the attachment (without trying to open it) to your desktop and THEN try to open it. Another would be to have whomever is sending the files to you, Zip them first.

  • Why Do I have to load adobe Flashplayer each time I switch my computer off and on again this only started about 2 weeks ago is it a firefox problem or an adobe issue????

Why Do I have to load adobe Flashplayer each time I switch my computer off and on again this only started about 2 weeks ago is it a firefox problem or an adobe issue. I am using adobe Flashplayer ver 11

This is a good question. It's possible your Xserver isn't configured for the correct mouse type. Try logging into a command line console (no X11 running). Run /usr/bin/X11/X -configure. It should create an Xorg configuration file in your root directory.
Copy this to /etc/X11/Xorg.conf and try restarting your Xserver. The file it creates might require some tweaking.

  • Xerox 7830 fails to obey "Choose paper source by PDF page size" option in Acrobat Pro -- Adobe issue or Xerox issue? Workaround?

Our former office printer (Xerox 7345) had no problem with this. But the new Xerox 7830 fails to obey the "Choose paper source by PDF page size" option in Acrobat Pro. Even the "Page Setup" is overridden by the Xerox printer driver. It is extremely annoying to have to go into the Xerox driver dialog every time, regardless of that check in the box and the correct dimensions being displayed in the picture.....

Unfortunately, not only does this not solve the problem with multi-page-size documents, but it's begun happening on files which are all one size as well, where that box isn't even checked.
It appears that what's happening is the newer versions of Adobe Acrobat don't play nicely with emulated postscript support past a certain date. We're replacing our Canon with a newer model that has actual postscript support, and if that resolves the issue I'll be certain to post confirmation here. Copies of Adobe Acrobat 7 and 8 in our office haven't seen this problem at all; it's simply everyone who has upgraded past that point that can't print reliably.
More news next week, after we get the new copier.

  • Lotus Notes and Adobe issue

I have been having an issue for the past year that when a Subject line in a Lotus Notes e-mail contains " " marks and I want to PDF it with Adobe, it causes both programs to hang and crash.  I'm able to keep clicking a prompt to ignore the error, but more often than not, it hangs and freezes. Then once it crashes, I have to go into Task Manager to quit all the processes related to Notes and Adobe.  I am on an XP operating system with Acrobat 9 Standard, v. 9.1.3, and Lotus Notes v. 8.5.2 FP2.  Any ideas or solutions?  Thanks in advance!

I suppose I should have been more specific, the problem IS printing to PDF in Lotus Notes...sorry for that miscommunication.

  • The ubiquitous "MacBook/Adobe" issue

    'Ello,
I just got a shiny new MacBok yesterday and, like may other people I've seen, am having problems installing anything Adobesque on it. I've tried PS Elements 2.0, Illustrator 10, and Macromedia Studio MX, all of which load fine. As soon as I click "Install ___", however, nothing happens. After 3+ hours of googling, I have sort of a vague understanding that this is a common issue and one that Apple and/or Adobe (depending on whose blog I read) are working tirelessly into the night to fix it.
My question is, since it seems that nothing can be done, what other graphics program can I use? I'm not terribly attached to PS or Illustrator, but I do need some sort of PS-ish program on my computer. Any recommendations?

  • Adobe issues with lion 10.7.4

Adobe will not run since my update. I cannot even install Adobe properly. Anyone else having same issue?  I keep seeing blocked plugin when needing to use flash player. Help.

I cannot even find Adobe Flash on my computer after the update.  When needing flash player on Safari 6.0, it says Blocked Plug-In.  Then asks would I like to download the new Adobe.  I keep downloading and installing Adobe Flash Player version 11.4.402.265 and it shows that it installs but does not work.  I did a search on my computer and the only thing i see after the install is the Adobe Installation Manager.  If I click it, it only shows an unistall feature.  Everything worked properly until I updated my computer to OS Lion 10.7.4 last week.

  • HT6065 Adobe issues after update...

Anyone else having issues with running their Adobe products after this update? Was working fine before the update and now the applications will open, run for about five seconds and then won't respond.

Just came into work after install and Photoshop CS5 will not open. A big slashed circle covers both the dock icon and the application icon. AI CS5 is working fine... so far. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Microsoft and Adobe issues on iMac

My iMac is approximately 4 years old. I do a lot of work with PDFs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. However, compared with a PC, working on my iMac has been a special form of ****. Work that would take me 4 hours now takes me 8 hours due to complications.
    For example:
    Microsoft Word:
    Takes forever to open
When I have to track a decent number of changes, the document freaks out. As in, the review pane opens with no prompting. When I try to hide it, it opens up again. Or if I'm working in one section, somehow I end up in a totally different section of the document for no reason.
    PowerPoint:
    Crashes
    Lots of lagging
When I create a chart, the Excel file opens to maximum view. How the **** am I supposed to input data if I can't see my other files with the numbers? Duh. And don't forget HUGE lag issues with inputting data into the Excel file in PowerPoint. Like, inputting numbers into 5 rows and 5 columns takes about 10 minutes on bad days. If you type more than 30 words per minute (130 for me), it misses most of the keystrokes so everything you enter is wrong
I just copied and pasted a bar chart from one slide to another and got a message that it was created in a different version and needed to be converted. Um, I've been working in the same PowerPoint file ALL DAY and created the original bar chart 10 slides earlier
    Adobe Acrobat
Granted,  I use creative cloud but this program crashes up to 20-30 times in a 2 hour period. I work with a TON of PDFs and lose a lot of work because of this issue. I get an error message (which is amazingly long and I don't understand it). It also doesn't matter which PDF I open. It could be one I use a lot or it could be brand new ones. I could have Acrobat open for an hour and suddenly it'll crash. Or I could have Acrobat open for 1 minute and it'll crash. There's no rhyme or reason.

BGreg, thank you for your quick response.
After having my iMac unplugged for a couple hours until the case was completely cold to the touch, it booted normally. I downloaded Smart Utility, and upon opening the application, it told me that my hard drive was failing. I did the long test to get a better idea of the situation, and it changed my status to "passed." My iMac then promptly froze up again, beachball and all. -.-
It seems that if my computer has been running for long enough to get warm, it stops wanting to function. I'm pretty sure when I restart it (most likely forcibly, as it's been frozen for over 10 minutes now) I will have all the boot issues once again.
I tried again with the hardware test when I started the iMac up in order to run Smart Utility, and holding down D still does nothing (install disc 1 is still in the drive).
Is there any way to know 100% that it's definitely the hard drive and *only* the hard drive? I would hate to buy a new one and go through the stress of taking my iMac apart for the first time only to find out after that there's another piece of hardware needing attention. I obviously can't use the built in hardware test anymore. With my budget the way it is, I'll probably have to repair it myself, so any pointers on diagnosing the issue before I start amateur surgery will be very appreciated. I was hoping to build a pc from the ground up before I ever needed to learn how to replace parts on my beloved iMac, but it looks like the iMac will be my first patient afterall.

  • Just did a Mac update yesterday for Yosemite and I can not open a picture in elements with out it crashing.  Spent over 4 hours with Mac and it came down to an Adobe Issue with the New Photo which is replacing the I photo. Elements does not recognize it,

Does anyone know a direct number for adobe that will not cost you to just ask about their program which will not work with a new mac update!

You can do that in iPhoto, too. Just go to the iphoto prefs>advanced, and set PSE as your external editor. Note that the actual editor is not the file at the top level of Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements < version number >, but rather hidden away inside the Support Files folder:
Then you just right the click the photo in iphoto and choose edit with external editor.
If you have the new Photos app, you can't drag and drop, either.

  • Is "Acrobat plug-in -'Could not launch Acrobat' " a Firefox or Adobe issue?

When I link to a PDF / Acrobat file nothing launches and the dialogue box noted above appears. Is there something in Firefox I can adjust to allow the plug-in to launch? Or is this a question I should pose to Adobe? I am using the latest Acrobat plug-in.
    Thanks.

See if you can find a NPPDF32.DLL files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\)
You can see the installed plugins on the about:plugins page.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/about%3Aplugins
You can set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.
You can open about:plugins and about:config via the location bar, like you open a website (about: is a special protocol to access some build-in pages).
If you get a warning when opening the about:config page then you can confirm that you want to continue.
    See Manually uninstalling a plugin:

  • Adobe issue while installing quickbooks

I am trying to install a student trial version of Quickbooks and it is giving me an error reguarding adobe.  It says "failed to install. For trouble shooting tips, please see http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166."  I tried this and still cannot get it to work.  I tried uninstalling the old version of adobe and putting the new one on and it still does not work.  Can you please help me?

    Download the following:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Also, download these:
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player 12 FULL installer (ther browsers)
You'll need to install Shockwave with the FULL installer for IE too, but there isn't a direct download for it. You'll need to go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ using IE AFTER everything else is done.
Save all the files and close your browser.
Run the uninstallers first (both of them)
    Go to: C/Windows/System32
    Delete the Macromed folder.
    Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64
    Delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").
    Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.
Run the Flash Player installers, and then the Shockwave FULL installer you downloaded.
Lastly, open IE and go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ to download and install the Shockwave FULL installer for ActiveX (IE).
