Adobe issues with lion 10.7.4

Adobe will not run since my update. I cannot even install Adobe properly. Anyone else having same issue?  I keep seeing blocked plugin when needing to use flash player. Help.

I cannot even find Adobe Flash on my computer after the update.  When needing flash player on Safari 6.0, it says Blocked Plug-In.  Then asks would I like to download the new Adobe.  I keep downloading and installing Adobe Flash Player version 11.4.402.265 and it shows that it installs but does not work.  I did a search on my computer and the only thing i see after the install is the Adobe Installation Manager.  If I click it, it only shows an unistall feature.  Everything worked properly until I updated my computer to OS Lion 10.7.4 last week.

Note that fake Flash installers are a common way to sneak malware into your system, and there's one going around right now called Flashback.  Because of this, never ever ever click a link like the one Kappy gave you!  Now, Kappy is trustworthy...  but it's still always the safest bet to go to the Adobe web site directly.  Type "www.adobe.com" into your browser's address bar, then click the Downloads link on the Adobe site, rather than clicking a link that takes you anywhere else.

  • Issues with Lion recognizing keyboard and mouse functions

    Hello everyone,
I have read that there were issues with Lion so I waited for months before I upgraded hoping that there would be enough complaints to warrant a fix from the tech lords.  I decided to finally upgrade and the issues with incompatible software came to fruition.  Fortunately I don't need to upgrade anytime soon but here's my real issue.  I have a logitech mouse and keyboard and Lion won't recognize the keyboard, even with product upgrade.  Also, the right click button is not functioning the way it should.  I can no longer right click and copy and paster anymore.  Being a long time mac head from the 80s I know there are always issues but I have never experienced this many. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

I had the same setup with the apple BT keyboard and the V270 mouse. I also work with the lid closed and with an external monitor (I bet that you are also using airport)! Both devices seem to intermittently loose connection, and the mouse cursor doesn't track very well. Looking through postings it seems that airport interferes with BT, and the behavior I've seen seems to support this. I stopped using the mouse because I couldn't get it to work adequately. I'v also tried using BT headphones (Motorola HT820) which at best the sound drops out intermittently, and at worse crashes OS X. I'm thinking that BT on the Macbook Pro just marginally works... I'd be curious if you ever had any success with your setup!

  • HT4628 Still having issues with Lion os X and wi-fi

I am still havign issues with Lion os X and wi-fi.   I have 3 domputers in my house including the new macbook pro that has lion os x installed.    The wifi drops out all the time (every 2 minutes).   I have followed all the instructions on how to fix this but I am still having issues.    The other two computers work fine,  one of the is Lion os X that has been updated but I managed to play with the setting and fix this one.   This computer worked fine on Snow leapard and then a soon as I installed Lion the wifi started having issues.
When will apple make an update that is going to fix this problem.     You want to buy a new computer that works,  I took it into apple and they told me that it is my router,  but I know it is the software as there are 100's of blogs and threads about this exact issue occuring only when their computer was updated to Lion.
Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue other then un-installing Lion and buying Snow Leapard?

Does this problem happen with just your airport base station?  Do you have a 3rd party wireless router?  Can you duplicate the problem using any wifi access point?  Did your computer come with 10.7 preinstalled?  Did you purchase the applecare with your computer?

  • Issues with Lion, anyone having the same ones?

I'm having several of issues with Lion (mostly with Safari).   Wondering if anyone else has these problems.  I'm hoping/assuming these will be bugs that Apple will fix with a software update?   Or if therres any fix for them?
    1.   Zoom while in Safari,  the 2 finger pinch and zoom feature stops working after a while usually.  I used to like the zoom in snow leopard where on a webpage it would zoom you in while keeping the page contents within the screen.  You can still accomplish this by doing the command + shortcut.  But I really liked the touchpad feature.  I don't mind the way the zoom works on safari (zooming in wihtout keeping the page in the screen).   But my problem is it stops working after a certain amount of time.
    2.  Safari freezing up.   Yes, my safari is freezing and I'm needing to force quit every now and then.   Never really had that problem with snow leopard.
    3.  Swiping to go to my desktop.   When I try to 4 finger swipe to get to my desktop or something (going to the left always),  My launchpad keeps coming up.  Thats HORRIBLY annoying.   I have to go to my icons and manually turn launchpad off.    This might be my most annoying problem.
    4.  Getting mission control up with the four fingers swiping up usually takes 2 or 3 swipes,   and also when I'm in mission control and I want to go to something on my desktop (if I have 2 or 3 things open while having mail and safari on full screen), it takes 2 or 3 clicks to select whatever I want to go to.
Overall I really DO like lion.  Just don't like those glitches Ive seen so far.   Anyone having the same problems?

Yes! I see the same! Extremely annoying. And as long as the pinch-zoom works, it's very unstable, and sometimes seems to freeze Safari with a "fuzzy" picture. It doesn't really freeze it, though, I can still use otheropen tabs, and usually a double-tap zoom "wakes" the "frozen tab".

  • Flash Player Issues with Lion

Has anyone else had issues with flash player after downloading Lion? for some reason after i got lion and i go to facebook to take a picture with my webcam or if i go to a video chat website it pops up the screen that asks to allow the website to connect to the webcam but it is not clickable. i have only had this problem after i got lion does anyone know how to fix this or if it is a problem with my laptop not the program.

I believe I had a similar issue as well. I'd check Adobe's website for an updated version of Flash. If that still doesn't fix it, it's likely because Flash actually does not yet support Lion (or at least not the last time I looked).

  • Issue with Lion OSX and Samsung HDTV

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem while connecting my Samsung HDTV model LNT3242HX with my Mac ever since I upgraded to Lion (I was previously on Snow Leopard).
    I'm using a  Macbook 2.13 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo (Mid 2009).
I use the Mini DVI to VGA cable and I hook it up with my TV. The thing is, with Lion, when I connect my TV, it doesn't fit the whole TV screen. There's about an inch to the left and the right where the screen stays dark. I did not have this problem with Snow Leopard.
When I check in my display preferences, my resolution is set to 1360x768 , however it says Usable Resolution 1280x768...And there's no way to change the refresh rate to anything else besides 60 hertz....
I don't really know if anyone can help? As it used to work just fine before, I assume there must be some kind of glitch between OSX Lion and my HDTV. I tried hooking it up to my other LG HDTV, and there is no problem, it's just with my Samsung TV.
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me out!

I have the exact same problem except mine is a 52 inch tv and there is at least 6 inches on either side plus 3+ inches on teh top and bottom.  Wasnt an issue with Snow Leopard.  I read somewhere that I may need to buy a $100 adapter instead of using the DVI to VGI cable.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I use this setup when I telework and the screen resolution is too small to be useful now.

  • Issues with Lion and Outlook - Display

Since installing Lion on my MacBook Pro, I get the spinning wheel every minute for about 5 seconds when authoring an Outlook 2011 email. In addition, my open windows randomly shift 1" to the left and back again when toggling between them. I have reached out to others in my company who have upgraded and they are experiencing some of the same kind of issues. I have searched different sites for a solution but none of them seen to solve the issues. Do I have to revert back to Snow Leopard in order for my machine to keep up with my typing??

Thank you Allan! Checking with Buffalo right now! I didn't occur to check the NAS manufacturer as I didn't have this issue with Snow Leopard. Checking their website it looks like there is a Firmware update for OS Lion which is great! Downloading the file now. Will post my results later so others can benefit from this thread. Thanks so much! Always nice to have an extra set of eyes when a "crisis" strike

  • Sharing scanner issue with Lion

I share a scanner on my iMac, until 3 days ago, everything was working with Image Capture. I was able to use my Mac Mini, I could see the scanner in the Shared section. I upgraded mi Mini for a new Model with Lion, and I am unable to scan anymore. Anyone seeing this ? My iMac is still under Snow Leopard. I also share a printer from the iMac and there is no issue in this area.

    Rusot,
    I found this:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.7/en/mh28021.html
    "Mac OS X 10.7 Help
    Share your scanner
You can let other Mac OS X users use any scanner that’s connected to your computer.
The users must be using Mac OS X v10.6 or later and be on your local network."
So I wonder if one CAN share between Lion and Snow Leopard.....I too am having the same issue of NOT being able to see a scanner connected to a Lion machine in the network of Snow Leopard machines.
    cheers,
    sam

  • Security issues with Lion

Anyone know what the real deal is with OS X Lion security.  I've heard lots of things about how the recent Blackhat conference in Las Vegas said that Apple's security was not as good as Windows 7's.  Anyone know anything about this?  Thanks in advance for any feedback or input.

I don't understand why it would cause security risks when it is supposed to be a patch to fix them?!  Is it safe to go ahead and open/install?
Could that be why Apple has released Java for OS X Lion 2012-002 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1515 ?

  • Is anyone else having issues with Lion on Ivybridge MBP in 32bit mode

    HI,
I'm having big issues using Lion in 32bit mode with my new MBP.  It will boot ok but then after a seemingly random period of time it will lock.  It seems to happen randomly.  I thought originally it was an issue with using the FW port and spent some time with an Apple Care engineer and we couldn't fix it.  I then re-installed Lion onto an external HD and used this without installing any extra software and it was seeming still happening.
There is nothing that I can see that triggers it, I'll just be using it normally and then suddenly it will just lock.  The first sign that somethings not right is errors with the display, parts of windows being left behind when I move them or sections of the menu bar at the top dissappearing.
Does anyone else have this issue as I've tried with Apple and the senior engineer couldn't figure it out and they've said that they haven't had any other reported issues.
    System:
    MBP - 13.3"
    Ivybridge 2.9GHz i7
    8 GB 1600 Mhz RAM
    OS 10.7.4
    Thanks

  • Microsoft Office 11 Issues with Lion

    Hello-
Has anyone had any compatibily issues with Microsoft Office 11? I frequently make word and powerpoint documents on campus, sometimes on windows computers, sometimes Mac's. I either email the files to myself, or store them on a flash drive. However, when I try to open the files, I simply see a blank document. What's even more frustrating is that these files open in pages on my computer. I suspect I have something enabled on my preferences that is blocking this, but I have no idea what this is. Essentially, any file that I create on my computer works, and also works when opened on another computer. However, any file I create on a different computer(be it mac or windows) is not visible when opened on my computer. I simply see a blank document/blank powerpoint slides.
I am running 10.7 Lion, with Microsoft office 11.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Martin Palkovic

Not me. A common Office 2011 problem is bad fonts. Run FontBook and look for duplicate and/or corrupt fonts.

  • Permissions issues with Lion

I just suddenly started having issues with my permissions with folders on external drives. Many of my folders (which appear to be random) no longer allow me to read or write them, and a dialog box appears saying I do not have permssion to access the folders. I only have one user which is the admin user.... what could have caused this? I have some drives with duplicate data on them, and different folders appear with the loss of access then others on other drives. I thought this was specific to my newest MBP (10.7.2) but notice both my older MBP and my really old G4 do the same thing, but with different folders each time. I have repaired permissions twice on the newest MBP to no avail. When I get info on a restricted folder, I notice that under 'permissions' my username does not appear, just a 'fetching....' but no username ever appears. If I unlock the folder using my admin password, I can change access for 'everyone' to read and write, and then I can access it. But what is going on here? All drives have been verified under disc utility, and as I mentioned, I have repaired permissions on the MBP which seem to be fine. This is weird..... (and a little alarming)

Select the icon of the volume in the Finder and open the Info window. Click the lock icon in the lower right corner and authenticate. Then do either of the following:
Check the box to Ignore ownership on this volume.
In the Sharing & Permissions section, give yourself read & write privileges, then select Apply to enclosed items from the menu with the gear icon.

  • Is anyone else having issues with Lion?

I have been a loyal apple user for years.  I have recommended apple hardware and software to my students.  I use and develop software on Mac (for OS X and iOS).  Since Lion I have experenced more crashes that all of my previous years using Macs.
Apple, do you care and what are you doing about it?
    Frustrated!

I had just bought a new Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard.  Like every other Mac computer I had owned, it worked flawlessly for a couple of months with a very complex workflow.  (I have Xcode, iOS Simulator, Instruments, GIMP, Inscape, LibreOffice, Safari, iTunes open at all times).  For both the various macbooks that I've had with both Leopard and Snow Leopard, I never had a single issue.  No slowness, no wake problems, nothing ever crashed, and certainly no kernel panics.
Then, I got Lion.  Constant Kernel Panics, Finder crashing ALL THE TIME forcing a reboot.  I had NEVER rebooted a Mac machine because of a problem before.  iPhoto just plain broken, LibreOffice constantly crashing and hanging, Xcode crashing, Instruments totally broken. TextEdit totally Broken, Wake from sleep never reattaching to Wireless,  Time Capsule backups screwing up, on and on and on.  I actually stopped using my macbook for a week until 10.7.1 for fear of damaging the system.
10.7.1 fixed 80% of this.  Now, the macbook is usable and somewhat stable, but there are all kinds of things that are just wonky.  Safari won't let me close tabs sometimes, TextEdit is totally broken for me (can't look at plaintext documents, saves everything as .txt).  Right now, I'd equate my Mac with a pretty good Windows system.  This means that it's the worst Mac experience I've ever had.
Granted, this is an upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion, but I would say that I have a very stripped down system.  I don't have a lot of extra stuff installed aside from the things I outlined above.  Before Lion, I had a flawless experience with Mac devices and operating systems.  Lion (including 10.7.1) is the worst Mac experience I've ever had.  Hopefully, 10.7.2 will fix some things.
