Adobe License transfer

Hello Group,
I am looking to buy an new computer in the next few months
and I have Macromedia suite 8 and Adobe Creative suite CS installed
on my current system. My current computer has Windows XP and the
new system will have Vista. I am wondering what the process is to
transfer those software packages from my old system to the new one.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

do you have install disks?
serial numbers?
deactivate/uninstall on the old computer.
Then install on new computer and go through the activation
process.
uninstalling first "frees up" the software to be activated on
the new
machine.

Ho do I transfer my adobe license?

If you're the current registered owner, you have to sign the forms and get them to Adobe.
    See here:
    Transfer an Adobe product license
    License transfer process
Both the transferor of the license and the recipient must complete a Transfer of License form.
The product serial number must be registered in the Adobe profile of the transferor to transfer the license.
You must qualify under the Transfer of License policy.
    License transfer process
Contact us to obtain a case number.
Note: Be sure to get a case number first to avoid delays processing your Transfer of License form.
Both the transferor (current owner) and the recipient (new owner) must each complete a Transfer of License form. Both forms must be returned to Adobe before the license can be transferred.
Right-click the form link below and save the Transfer of License form on your computer. Open the form in Adobe Reader or Acrobat and follow the instructions on the form and complete all fields.
    Transfer of License Form.pdf
Write your case number or customer number or both on the form.
Scan the completed form and save to your computer.
Return the completed Transfer of License form to Adobe:
    Go to www.adobe.com/go/supportportal/.
Type in your Adobe ID and Password and then click Sign in.
    Click your case number.
    Upload the scanned form.
After Adobe receives the completed Transfer of License form from both parties, Adobe registers the software to the new owner. Registration ensures that Adobe recognizes the new owner as the legal licensee who can receive customer service and support.
Once both parties have submitted a Transfer of License form, allow three to four weeks for your license transfer request to be processed.

How to obtain a case number for License transfer process.

Good to know - Here you have the user-2-user forum for "Adobe Reader".
For anything "License" related you will want to be using the "contact" feature to meander about until you can get a "licensing work group" point of contact.

  • License Transfer and Customer Support Nightmare - Please help.

I have purchased a copy of Creative Suite and am trying to get the license transferred.
I have been promised 3 times now via live chat that it will go through yet obstacles keep popping up.
Initially the case was closed so I was unable to upload my recipient end of the transaction. Then I was told it was re-opened but that that the current license holder had to upload both forms.
I have kept all of the chat transcripts so this is what was said:
"******you have to contact ****** and mail your form to him and he will attach  the form containing your details . And then we will be able to authenticate that and then transfer the details."
He has done so and has now been sent the following email (all names and case numbers removed)

    Case Description:Transfer of license
    Hello ******
    Thank you for contacting Adobe.
We understand that you wish to transfer an Adobe license to a different user. We have received the Transfer of License form that you have submitted. We appreciate for taking your time to attach the required document. However, we regret to inform you that, we are unable to process further with the transfer of license, since there is no case created and Transfer of license form submitted by the recepient under his account. Please be informed that in order to transfer an Adobe license the Transferor and Recepient needs to be submit the TOL form from their own Adobe account. The Transferor cannot submit both the document.

It turns out that a completely new case number has been assigned when I was told it hadn't.and that, as I initially thought, I need to send them my form as the recipient but am unable to do so because the case is not listed on my Support Portal case list.
Can somebody PLEASE tell me how to make sure that Adobe have both forms attached to the same case No. so that this issue can be resolved. It is becoming a little Kafkaesque.

  • Photoshop Elements license transfer

No place to contact Adobe FIRST. I can print the license transfer form, but nowhere to contact Adobe FIRST to get a case number.

All sounds good, but NOT. In the License transfer process, is Contact us to obtain a case number, NOT what you said. Then the Contact us puts you into support: Need help, start here. Then pick the product, then pick tell us what you want help with. In that selection there is NOT help to find to obtain a case number for transfer. So, dead end. Help at Adobe is NOT help at Adobe.

  • Macromedia License Transfer

I'm currently using an absurdly old verion (MX) of Macromedia Studio; as a home hobbyist in the UK I can't afford to buy current retail versions. I bought Studio MX secondhand when Macromedia was in existance and their licensing department transferred the license for me.
I've found a secondhand retail version of Studio 8 which I could afford but only want to buy if I can legally own and use the product. I've found suitable instructions at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/transfer-product-license.html#main_Macro media_branded_products and could ask the seller to complete a license transfer form. However, the instructions for transfer require that the product be registered with Adobe and the seller is unsure whether the product is actually registered. Is there anyway I can legally buy and own this product?
I've had live chats with Adobe representatives but essentially they simply seem to fall back the the "it's no longer a supported product" approach and I can't get a straight answer; equally Adobe seem to do their utmost to prevent you contacting them by email so I can't get hold of their licensing people for a conclusive answer.
Does anyway know whether I can still buy second hand Macromedia software legally or is there a contact within Adobe that I could ask? I'm not sure that this is the best forum, but there doesn't seem to be one specifically for licensing issues.

The product I'm looking at is a genuine boxed retail product, so not pirated and will a legally transferable license; I'm not worried about dodgy software, I do however want to be legally licensed and don't know how to go about this.
The instructions for Macromedia license transfer state that the products need to be registered with Adobe but my MX license vanished from my Adobe profile years ago so I'm not sure that any Macromedia products anywhere will still be registered; is it still possible to legally buy second hand Macromedia software?
I appreciate that the software is ancient but I'm only a tinkerer and just manage a simple charity website;Studio 8 would still be a step up.
The CS2 link above states that the software can only be used by someone who legally owns the software, which I don't.

  • Is License transfer required for what I intend to do?

    Hi
Adobe has an enticing offer of 50% off off the Production Premium suite. It's available in many markets, but not here in India. However, I have an uncle who lives in Canada. I intend for him to make the purchase from the Adobe Online Store. A cursory search indicates that a few people have done this before. However, a couple of queries:
    1) if my uncle creates an Adobe ID and buys the software as an ESD, does he automatically become the original licensee or just remain the purchaser until it's registered? He won't download the software after purchase, unless I ask him to. Does the same answer apply to retail box purchase?
2)If he does become the original licensee, just via the sale transaction, the License Transfer form should suffice to get it in my name, right?
3)If he does NOT become the original licensee, can I then register the product with my Adobe ID?
    Thanks.

All download software is pre-registered to the purchaser's user account, so yes, a transfer of license may be required at some point. It has no influence on activation, though. So as long as you're on good terms with your uncle and get the serials, you can "keep it in the family", I guess and need not rush the transfer.

  • Requesting Case Number for License Transfer

The help page for a license transfer says "Contact us to obtain a case number." I clicked it and here I am in this forum. So please give me a case number.

You don't need a case number:

If you have the SAP NetWeaver and Adobe licenses, this is supported.
