Adobe Lightroom and Leopard

I have just tried my first attempt at importing images into Adobe Lightroom off my USB connected Compact Flash reader.
I am getting errors of Not all images could be imported.
Anyone else having issues?
I will keep testing and post any more I find.

To reply back to the original Topic, yes I am still having this issue. Just went out and shot a High School football game. Thought maybe Compact Flash may be corrupt so, used another card tonight and got the same issue.
Some of the images get imported and then i get an odd error. I will try and get the exact text soon.
Hopefully someone from adobe is monitoring all this.
Peace.

I do not provide step by step tutorials.  What aspect of installing are you having difficulty with?  Can you not locate the installations files?  Are you having an issue downloading?  Do you need to know where to find your serial number(s)?

  • Lightroom and Leopard

I recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), and now when I go into Lightroom, the Print module is unavailable. I get the following message:
"An error occurred when attempting to change modules"
This only happens when I'm trying to go into the print module. I am using version 1.2 of Lightroom.
Is this a known issue, or do I have an unusual problem? Has anyone else experienced this?

Adobe should either update the FAQ, or they should put a sticky at the top of this forum. The information is not readily available (and I too find the search facility often doesn't give the answers I'm looking for).
It's a good job Photoshop still works or I'd have been a bit stuck. I misunderstood the reports about Adobe with Leopard - thought I'd read that most applications are fine except some used for video work. I forgot all about checking that Lightroom was compatible!

  • Adobe lightroom and photoshop

past year I had cc for students. I change this year because I only need as student photoshop and lightroom. I pay for that but my question is. It is at the moment not possible to open my photoshop of lightroom. My adobe CC is coming up and tell me that I need to pay again for CC. Do I really remove everything from my computer ? I have lots of presets at the moment. Thanks

Shoot, I've been waiting for several hours on the Customer Care Chat. I've got the Creative Cloud to download onto the new computer without a problem. Now I need to know how to access my photos from the Cloud, or from my external hard drive. I can't see the photos when I browse to the Lightroom folder on my drive... Thank you for any help!! I'm excited to get to work on my new iMac!

  • Adobe CS1 and Leopard?

I've heard that Adobe CS1 will not work under Leopard. Is this true? I'm getting Leopard in the mail today, and if I can't install it until I upgrade to CS3, I'm gonna cry! LOL

    Hi there,
I have been using InDesign CS and CS2 with no problems so far. Certainly no more crashes than under Tiger. Performance has been a little sluggish at times but that could have coincided with a TM backup.

  • Adobe lightroom and 2 display support

    Hi,
I would like to use lightroom, but...
I currently use 2 displays to work in (for example) Photoshop. I just put all my toolboxes on my rightside display and my image on my left display.
    Does lightroom support this to?
Can I put the toolbars on another screen?
Is it possible to show the slideshow on the second screen?
    Thnx!

    hello,
it would be nice that when a two monitor set up is introduced( V1.5, V2 or when/ever), that it would allow for different modules to be open in a new window, and dragged to the second monitor.
...this way one could have the develop module open on the primary monitor, and the library open on the secondary monitor. ( or print module and library )
This would also be nice in the case of third party modules.
However, I think it is not a deal breaker, LR works very well on a single monitor, the two monitor thing is more a need with photoshop, because it can get pretty cluttered.
    thanks,
    Fabio

  • Lightroom upload to Adobe Revel no longer supported?!? Future of Lightroom and Revel?!?

    Hi,
currently I'm Pro-User of Adobe Revel and I upload all photos with Adobe Lightroom 4 to my Revel account.
I googled a little bit around because I'm not able to upload videos via Lightroom and i found this link:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1162795.
On this page it is said that Adobe will not continue plugin support for Lightroom and Revel.
Could somebody (or anybody - sorry for my english) tell me more about the future of Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Revel?!? Would be great and helpful....
    Thanks in advance
    Stephan

    Stephan hi
yes, there is no way to use the revel plugin from LR anymore.
i am also finding this very strange as both are adobe products & no integration anymore?
i use LR as a database for all my images
and was exporting to revel, only the ones that i need to share
this is very frustrating and unexpected from adobe
maybe they will come up with a new revel plugin
but no official word from adobe yet
i have been exploring various options for sharing like smugmug, flickr etc
but have more faith in adobe, as i have been a LR and photoshop user for many years
just started using revel on free trial account, certainly wont take their PRO service without the LR/REVEL integration
i also feel that revel has been around for couple+ of years
but they lack many basic features, compared to others like smugmug
i understand a new service/app takes time to develop, but by now, they should have nailed it
for eg: if i webshare an album with a friend, he can download the individual 50 pictures one by one
there is no option to download the entire album in one go, very frustrating and very basic feature
seems like this is a hobby project for adobe and they aint investing much into this service
though their annual subscription charges are at par with others like smugmug and probably more than some others
the revel forum is also not very active from adobe's side
they should realise that people like you & me, and many others explore first and then finalise a service for good and stick to it
what if i go towards smugmug and upload all, i wont be changing back to revel, as its a lot of hassel organizing and re-uploading again
if anyone listening/monitoring these threads on adobe forum
    please reply

  • How are Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Adobe Lightrom different

    Hi,
I found two products as "ADOBE PHOTOSHOP LIGHTROOM" and other one says "ADOBE LIGHTROOM".
Below is the snapshot as well which is getting me confused.
    Appreciate the help!!!
    Thanks,

Quote "No-one but Adobe understands why Adobe insists on referring to Lightroom as both Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom."
Up to a few months before Lightroom was released in the market and still in "Beta" mode the decision was made to change the name from "Adobe Lightroom" to "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom". This was a poor decision on Adobe's part and has led to confusion to what Lightroom is as a product.
Lightroom is in effect an alternative to "Bridge and the Adobe Camera Raw Plugin" that is available for the use in Photoshop CS and Photoshop Elements.
Lightroom is not Photoshop and the inclusion of the name only causes confusion.

Tried a number of "fixes" from blogs.  No joy.  Deleted all my adobe apps, rebooted, and Creative Cloud says it needs to reload.  Went through that process, and it quit near the end, saying it needed to reload and directed me back to same Adobe site.  Hmm.  Round and round we go.  How do I get off of this loop and get my Adobe Lightroom and PS working fine again?  Whole episode started after loading CC and then PS said it didn't have Camera Raw.  Went and downloaded that, wouldn't load and said I needed Adobe Download Diagnostic (or something like that) went to suggested link, whereupon it tells me it is no loger available.
Looking forward to cleaning everything off and starting over!!  Any input gratefully accepted and I will NOT be trying CC again.  I am sure it is just fine, just not for me, now.

  • Is Adobe Lightroom or Adobe Elements better?

    Hi,
I am testing out a free trial of Adobe Lightroom and I am attempting to figure out if it is too advanced of a program for my purposes.
I have MANY, MANY images on a server, and when I want to organize these images into different categories, I have to make a separate folder on the server (because I have to leave the images all in their original place on the server as well). Thus, I am ending up with the same image in two places... which takes up a LOT of space on my server!
I am looking for software that can allow me to curate images pulled from my server into different buckets, and deliver those images to people using an FTP site. Is Adobe Lightroom good for this purpose, or am I going to be investing in something that does far more than I need it for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Best,
    Meredith

Photoshop (Elements or not) is really totally different from Lightroom.
You can argue that Element organizer, CS Bridge, and Lightroom's Library module do some similar stuff just in different ways. Lightroom is a database-driven application, Bridge is not, Elements organizer is sort of a hybrid but probably closer to database than the Browser that is Bridge.
Some people like one over the other. Lightroom does pretty well handling, cataloging, sorting, filtering, and separating large numbers of images. That's really what it's Library module is for. But it has a lot of other functionality not used for just that - the other four modules.

  • Lightroom and GIMP color issue using jpg

    Here is what I do:
Using an iMac (Tiger) and have my monitor calibrated using the built in MacOS tool. The profile is stored in the Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder. In the GIMP settings about color management, I have chosen the monitor profile from above as the monitor profile and the RGB profile.
I have a (Canon) RAW image mainly in a neutral, if not slightly yellowish, tone with some beautiful golden pins. Imported the CR2 into Adobe Lightroom and exported in sRGB color space, the jpg looks like this: http://www.ipernity.com/doc/18039/1283133
Now I would love this with a nice frame, so I did a hi quality export, loaded it into GIMP 2.4.3, added a frame, and saved it as full size jpg. When I look at the resulting jpg in MacOS Preview application, it looks fine and so it does when I upload it to the web: http://www.ipernity.com/doc/18039/1284108
But as I manage all my images in Lightroom, I also want to manage this one in Lightroom, so I imported it. And look what's coming out: http://www.ipernity.com/doc/18039/1284100
    It's all purple!
It looks the same in Lightroom, Preview and uploaded. Purple. What am I doing wrong? Is there any hidden Lightroom setting I have scambled?
When I am saving TIFF from GIMP, Lightroom imports with proper colors.

The third one (reimported into Lightroom) is indeed purplish. Are you using the latest gimp? Versions of gimp before a while ago could not color manage and will probably forget about the profile. It was only recently added. You should have the working space set to sRGB (so not RGB as you wrote above) in the gimp probably for this image. Also, make sure you do NOT save as a progressive jpeg, but only using baseline compression. Lightroom tends to change the color of progressive jpegs. This is probably what is going on.

  • Export to Adobe Lightroom

Is there a way or a third party utility to export photos from iPhoto 6 to Adobe Lightroom and keep the metadata keywords in iPhoto so they come into Adobe Lighroom?
The alternative to transfering metadata into Lighroom is to keep my old work in iPhoto, or to use Aperature. I just like Lightroom better, overall.

    Boris
The problem is that there's now way in v6 to write the keywords to the actual image file, which is where Lightroom will get it from. (You can do this in v7). Aperture will read these keywords okay.

  • Where do I go to report a BUG in Adobe Lightroom

I have installed a trial version of Adobe Lightroom and it accessed a networked drive from a shortcut on my desktop and over 200 images where removed. Typically a program will ignore shortcuts and limit their seach or actions to the named folder only. I need to report this bug and find out how I can restore the files to their source folders.
Can anyone point me to the right dept.
I spoke to someone on chat this morning and their 'helpful' reply was they only offer support 'BEFORE' you download the product. Once you download the product and you actually have some questions they will not assist you. Go figure!! Not great service for companies evalutating Adobes suite.

Are you saying you did a Move import with Subfolders on and/or did a Folder-drag movie in LR Library, and in either case started in or above a folder with a shortcut and the Subfolders option traversed the shortcut to an unexpected location, or something else?
CS can help you download a product and can help install a product, but aren’t here to train you how to use the product.
