Adobe Lightroom Book was included for a select few.....

A few people have been looking for a book that is included with Lightroom. Many people have stated that it does not come with a book.
To clarify things, Yes, a lucky few of us did get an 80page printed booklet with our Lightroom called
'Adobe Photoshop Lighroom - Getting Started Guide'. I just found the book in my ' Land of the Lost' book library of all the Adobe classroom in a book Books and after a bit of searching with info from the book, I found it at the Adobe website.
Here is a link to this 80 pg book from Adobe for all the people that want a getting started guide for Lightroom, even better for people trying out he free trial of Lightroom. This appears to be an exact .pdf copy of the printed book that I received with one of my versions of Lightroom.

As strange as it may seem I fear it's now a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:

I purchased creative cloud, so I thougth Adobe Acrobat Pro was included. When I install the program with my CC ID, I keep getting a trial version, I paid for Creative cloud so why should I buy Adobe acrobat seperately?

My book was rejected for containing images with embedded text. Does Apple not make exceptions for graphic novels, etc.?

I created my first book with iBooks Author, and am trying to publish it as a paid book in the iBookstore. It is a book of writing and photography, and each page contains one or more photographs. Some of the photographs are of handwritten notebook pages, and these are an essential and expressive part of the book. The handwritten notes were written when taking the photographs, and the book is a thoughtful visual journal about walking and photography. Replacing the handwriting with typewritten text would not work at all.
However, Apple rejected my book because "Embedding text in images creates issues that cause a large number of customer complaints."
I understand the reasoning behind this requirement, and certainly it is appropriate for most books. But does Apple make exceptions for books that need to present text visually? I would call my book an "artist's book", but it could be thought of as a graphic novel. Surely there are other books besides mine that require text embedded in images.

This sounds like something you have to take up with Apple directly rather than here in the user/user forums. You might want to try the contacts listed at the bottom of the FAQ:

It might be helpful to find some things in the store yourself that demonstrate such exceptions, so you can ask for equal treatment.

Lightroom or Photoshop Elements for administrating huge number of photos?

Dear photo experts,
at home, we have a huge number of photos we took over years. We are looking for a software able to organize all of them. We currently have:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 (Mac)
Adobe Lightroom 3 (Mac)
However, for organizing photos we so far use none of them but a third software (here, we are not happy about how it handles our huge catalog of photos).
Our photos are stored on a server (network attached storage), organized by date and event.
I read that Adobe Photoshop Elements cannot organize photos stored on a network drive.
Now my questions:
- Can Adobe Lightroom organize photos stored on a network drive?
- Is Adobe Lightroom capable to organize a huge amount of photos in one single catalog (separating them via tags)?
What are your experiences?

I use Lightroom for all of my photo management (yes, I said ALL). I never use the operating system for photo management. Lightroom works great. People here in this forum who have much larger catalogs than I do (over 1/4 million photos) also use Lightroom to manage their photos.

Exclude One Link for Select Few IP Addresses

Hello, I just created a new Muse internal website for my organization. I have been asked to exclude one certain link off my homepage for a select few IP addresses (Servers). Support tells me that this is possible, but they are not allowed to help, and I was told I need to post to this. So yeah that is what I am needing to do. Help would be much appreciated!

Hi Matt,
You first need to find the IP of the client for which you need to implement some server side coding for example php and then hide the link if the client's IP matches the one in the list. This is just an example code below.

I bought Adobe Lightroom within the year for a PC. Due to computer problems, I need to replace the computer and plan on purchasing an Apple. Can I transfer the license from a PC to an Apple? If yes, how do I do that?

I am having issues today with my Adobe Lightroom 5.6 today that was working fine yesterday except for te files from one of my cameras showed up on import but wouldn't download, today I'm getting the message "Lightroom cannot start because it cannot create files in the temporary file location /var/folders/jv/2bct456j0yg4ys681fxk9zq00000gn/T " don't know what has happended in 24 hrs except I did check my permissions on my main directory to ensure that I had extended permissions to all the folders contained within my main drive on my IMac running OSX 10.10

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

Unnecessary page limit for Blurb book in Lightroom Book module

I'm posting this per Julieanne Kost's request following an email exchange regarding this topic. I am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise. I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom. I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book. I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book. I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.
My recommendation in the short term would be for Adobe to warn Lightroom Book Module users up front that Lightroom's page limits differ from those if going directly through the Blurb website.
My recommendation in the longer term would be for the Adobe engineers to make whatever changes are necessary in the Lightroom code to allow for 440 pages when standard paper is selected (and more specifically to make the page limits match the limits of Blurb's actual books). If there is any way to impress upon Adobe management the importance of this, I believe it would be greatly appreciated by many Lightroom/Blurb users.

I agree with that (though a 330 page Blurb book would break the bank :-)
I would also like to see the LR book module allow at least all the same Cover Templates as Booksmart does - I feel really constrained with both of them but much more so with LR...At least let us Drop a Full bleed finished cover on to the front and back covers!
Lately, I do all the page making in PS, move to LR to manage the page numbering and then export to jpg and ingest to Blurb to make my books...pretty kludgy, isn't it?

Path Cannot Be Located for Adobe Lightroom

I just downloaded the 30-day free trial for Adobe Lightroom. When I attempt to upload a photo to be posted elsewhere, I first am instructed to click on "browser", and then I choose Adobe Lightroom (where I have imported all my necessary photos to add keywords to them) to go in & select the photo I am wanting to upload. I am then getting a message stating that "path cannot be located"...why would this be happening?

Welcome to the forum!
LR is not a browser, and can not be used that way. LR contains the catalog of all your images, but to upload them somewhere else, you need to either use the publish mechanism in LR, or export your images (with LR changes!) to another folder. Then navigate to them when uploading.
Where are you trying to upload to/from?
There are quite a few good tutorials on LR and uploading, you might try browsing the Adobe site for them. You also might consider reading some good basic books on LR. Martin Evening has a good one, and Victoria Bampton has a highly respected online version.
