Adobe lightroom system requirements

Hello,
I want to know which variant of Net Framework it is necessary to run Adobe Lightroom 3 for XP Pro SP3?
Net Framework 2.0 or 3.0?
Thank you.

I don't know, but I am curious how you concluded that it uses .net framework, ?

  • Lightroom System Requirements

    Hi
And apologies to anyone who has seen a similar thread I posted on Lightroomforums.net.
I have just started using LR2.3 and am having trouble using it with my EOS 5D mk 2 files. Basically the files are so large that my system is hopelessly slow. My system is almost 5 yrs old and has an Athlon XP 2.13 GHz chip with 2GB of RAM. I am sure I need a new computer anyhow, BUT...
On the Adobe site under 'system requirements' for LR2 it specifically states 'Intel Pentium 4 processor'. There is no mention of 'or equivalent'. I am surprised that it specificies Intel by brand, and most of the new PCs I am looking at here in the UK come with Athlon quad core processors. Also if you look at system requirements for CS4 or CS4 extended Adobe onl specify 1.8GHz processor or above - no specific mention of Intel by brand.
Does anyone know if Adobe have an official policy on this, and whether LR2 really does require an Intel chip rather than an Athlon one?
    Many thanks
    Alan

    Alan,
As far as I know, LR should work with an AMD chip.  There's no logical reason Intel should be required for PCs running LR.  You know those statements that say something like "Pentium 4 required" just means that the software would refuse to install itself if you only had a Pentium 3 or AMD equivalent; it doesn't guarantee satisfactory performance at the minimum hardware level.
As a former longtime and happy Athlon XP owner myself, I think you're asking a lot to expect the Athlon XP to be able to handle your large 5D RAW files in LR, or for LR to maintain a catalog of any size efficiently.  I would expect very pokey performance particularly if you want to use adjustment brushes and such.  I don't think Pentium 4 owners would be happy with LR performance, either.
Sorry, but I think it's time for a new PC.  It doesn't have to be a high-end one.  I'm not sure how hardware prices run in the UK these days, and my RAW files are only 10 megapixels and my LR catalog is not huge, and I'm working in WinXP, so my hardware needs may be less than yours might be especially if you got a new PC with Vista.  For what I'm doing, a desktop PC with at least a fast dual-core processor (which should be at the bargain entry level by now for CPUs) and 2Gb of RAM handles LR2.3 very well.  Vista might benefit from a little more oomph and RAM.
In recent years, Intels have turned things around and out-performed AMDs on a bang-for-the-buck basis in the US anyway, so you may want to look at Intel at least.  (I switched back, after the Athlon XP, to Intel dual-core.  If I were building now, I'd be looking at quad-core.)

  • Adobe Premiere Pro System Requirements

    Good morning,
For the online Adobe Premiere Pro System Requirements:
The Windows "Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2014) system requirements" are listed as "Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (64 bit) or Windows 8 (64 bit)" and the Windows "Adobe Premiere Pro CC system requirements" are listed as "Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1". (Bolded emphasis added.) (Reviewed at System requirements | Adobe Premiere Pro on 12/28/2014.)
Assuming that all Windows requirements are to be "(64 bit)" for both Adobe Premiere Pro CC and CC (2014), then why is "Windows 8.1", that is a requirement for Adobe Premiere Pro CC, excluded from the requirements for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2014), which is the latest version of Premiere Pro?
My point is:  in a RAID'ed solid-state disk (SSD) structure, some of the workflow for maintaining a work station is different between Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Unless this omission is an editorial inconsistency, not having Windows 8.1 as a system requirement for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2014) implies that Windows 7 is the better option for supporting Adobe Premiere Pro and for helping to maintain the hardware implementing it.
For the supporting the best SSD RAID workflow for Adobe Premiere Pro, please let me know if, indeed, that not including Windows 8.1 in the system requirements for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2014) is an oversight.
    Thank you.

    An oversight? Yes probably.
Adobe's "System Requirements" page for Adobe Premiere Pro has been a joke for a long time so far as helping the user is concerned. Check out www.ppbm7.com if you really want to learn the true system requirements to use Adobe's software.
The current Premiere Pro CC (2014) system requirements list includes:
    - Intel Core2 Duo... - wow, really, this is the requirement for 2014! Seems to me this would not support present day media and workflows very well at all.
    - "... or faster hard drive" (no mention whatsoever about SSDs). I have a system with SSDs (no hard drives) and it runs Premiere Pro just fine with no hard drives at all.
    - Internet connection and registration... Yes, it does seem that Adobe keeps the legal and other "fine print" portions of the system requirements page up to date.
Regarding Win 8.1, I've had some issues with installing some legacy software that I've used for years (and which run using Win 7 64-bit), however all the Adobe CC (2014) applications that I've tried seem to work just fine on my system (with Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit).

  • Minimum System  Requirements for Adobe Applications

Hi, I want to upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium: main applications: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop Extended, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Soundbooth etc.
To do this I also need to upgrade to an Intel Mac. What is the minimum (cost) Mac system I could get away with bearing in mind this is very much a training rather than commercial production situation.
Adobe claim system requirements: Multicore Intel® processor, Mac OS X v10.4.11–10.5.4, 2GB of RAM (more RAM recommended when running multiple components) This would suggest a Mac mini (2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB memory) would suffice although my own gut feeling would be a top end iMac
    Any advice much appreciated

    Hi Kenny,
Are you referring to Acrobat X?

On the downloads page for flex builder 3.0.1 it says that the
Flex Builder 3 Professional plug-in for Eclipse is supported by
    Eclipse 3.3 or higher
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=flex3email
but if you click on the system requirements link right next
to the download button on the page above, it says that the
supported build of eclispe is the 3.2.2 (for plugin configuration).
What does that mean, does it mean that you have to install
Eclipse 3.2.2, then install Flex Builder, then install Eclipse 3.4?
And why is it different? And if so, how do you do that? Link to
    install instructions anyone?
Also, I am on a Mac platform and the system req. says that
"NOTE: Flex Builder 3.0.1 does not run with Java for Mac OS X 10.5
    Update 1 / 64 bit Java SE 6 version 1.6.0_05."
If I am running build 1.6.0_07-b06-153 am I OK? Or does the
sys. req mean that it is 1.6.0_05 and LATER?
    Please, this is really confusing...

  • Questions on the capabilities of the Adobe media server and system requirements

    Hello
We need to send multiple video streams on different computers and screens in our organization. To do this, we need a dedicated server with the following functionality:
    - transmit up to ten (or even more) HD and FullHD streams simultaneously
    - manage playlists in real time without relaunching stream every time after adding items to the playlist
    - imposing of any text and video effects
    - use a variety of sources: a folder with pictures for the slideshow, video and audio files, video capture devices, video streaming from other resources
Is Adobe media server suitable for our tasks?
What are the system requirements (I do not mean minimum requierements)?
If we buy adobe media server, will it be enough? Or we will have to buy additional software products to provide all the necessary functionality?
    Thank you.

    1 and 2 is possible
    3 is not
4 AMS is not an encoder and does not encode or create streams. You have to use other software for that.Adobe FMLE is for live streaming...Use third part software like manycam(a virtual webcam on your machine) to generate video sources out of slide shows.

  • Questions about System Requirements for Adobe Air programs

Earlier today I asked someone who runs Tweetdeck if they knew what the system requirements were for running Tweetdeck on my desktop (Windows)
they gave me a link here: http://www.adobe.com/products/air/systemreqs/
    and I found this:
    Windows
    2.33GHz Intel® Pentium® 4, AMD Athlon® 64 2800+, or faster processor
Microsoft® Windows® XP Home, Professional, or Tablet PC Edition with  Service Pack 3; Windows Server® 2003 or 2008; Windows Vista® Home  Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (including 64-bit editions)  with Service Pack 2; or Windows 7
    512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
    Here are my computer statistics:
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Basic (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_ldr.101014-0432)
               Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
    System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC
                   BIOS: PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
              Processor: AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-65 (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
                 Memory: 2814MB RAM
Page File: 1858MB used, 3993MB available
            Windows Dir: C:\Windows
        DirectX Version: DirectX 10
    DX Setup Parameters: Not found
         DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode
Will me only having a 2.1GHz processor really affect how my performance is with Adobe Air products/apps in general?

Yes- I've had some lower price pc's using an Adobe AIR app and can tell the difference.
Computers where performance was a huge issue was Compaq CQ56 & Toshiba Satellite C655D
These computers are under 2.0 GHz and the app seems to freeze up on occassion or run slower.

  • Adobe after effects cs6 system requirements

    Hi,
I would like to purchase the adobe master collection cs6, but I wonder if my laptop matches the system requirements, specially my graphic card (with Adobe after effects or adobe premiere pro)
    my laptop:
    Win 7 64 bits
    Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
    P7450 2.13 GHz
    4 Go RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series
Could you please tell me your opinion?
    thanks a lot

The graphics card will work for normal OpenGL acceleration, but not anything else. Anything with CUDA will require an NVidia card. Read the system specs here and here. What's not listed there, is not supported for GPU accelerated raytracing or Mercury Playback. It's that simple. All that aside, it's simply not gonna be fun to run eitehr of the programs on your system. The processor is just weak and 4GB is not much on a 64bit system.

Buy the Snow Leopard retail installer (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA).
That will take you to 10.6.3.
If required you can then use the combo updater to get to the latest version, 10.6.8 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399)
