"adobe_Lightroom_x6.msi" error...

Trying to update: I get the "please find the location of adobe_Lightroom_x64" error...
Please help? I'm at 5.4 now, wanting to update but have had this issue since the 5.5 update came out...

Hi,
Have a look at this thread: Re: Installation
Basically you will have to download 5.4 to get the MSI then extract and point the uninstall to the extracted MSI file for 5.4
You can download your version from here: Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows

  • Can't install or uninstall itunes itunes 64.msi error

Can't install or uninstall itunes itunes 64.msi error - does anyone have a fix?
The itunes64.msi cannot be found in the temp sub-folder it was originally installed in.
I believe the System Mechanic cleaned out the temp files and now I can't install or uninstall itunes.
I tried to manually recreate the folder that the itunes64 setup is looking for and manually copied the 11.0.1 version of all the .msi files included in the installation, but, the installation still cannot find the itunes64.msi.

I was able to solve my problem by following all the directions at the following Apple site - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926?viewlocale=en_US
I was not able to remove the iTunes program using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel; however, that didn't seem to matter. I removed the directories and used the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. I reinstalled iTunes Ver 8.1.1.10 with no problems. I'm sticking with this version for the time being.

  • .msi error when downloading itunes 10.5

.msi error when I try and download itunes 10.5.  Anyone have a fix or suggestion?

Which particular msi file does it say can't be found, rock? Several different ones could possibly be mentioned in the context of an iTunes install. (For example, iTunes.msi, Bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi ...)

  • Could not write value vmware-tray.exe to key MSI error on Windows 8.1

    Hello All,
I posted the following question to Microsoft guys,  but the fellow at Microsoft support was 1000% sure that this issue is related to VMWare only. I am hoping to  get some assistance at least here.
    My question as below:-
    Hello All,
NOTE: I have gone through many forums already and have followed all the steps recommended by different experts there. NO AVAIL! Hence, I am posting this here.
I have been trying to install VMWare Workstation 11 on my Windows 8.1 and I keep getting the MSI Error which says, "could not write value vmware-tray.exe to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows'CurrentVersion\Run.  Verify
that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel"
This is really very frustrating now. And I am beginning to hate Windows 8.1 :-(
I have disabled Anit-Virus, Windows Defender, Firewall ...everything possible. Tried to run the program as "Administrator",  changed the permissions of all the HKEY related stuff under 'regedit"  to "Full Control"....
I did everything that was asked. Nothing happens. I keep getting the same error.
    Please Please help!!!!

You posted this in the Windows 8.1 Hyper-V group.
So I will ask, is Hyper-V involved?  Do you have the Hyper-V role installed?
And again I ask, have you posted in the VMware forums? I ask because if this is a known issue, they would be the people that would know the reason and resolution (since it is their software package - regardless of the reason)
And, have you tried manually adding a registry setting to the registry path (without elevating your privileges)?

  • Adobe CC Packages - 1603 MSI Errors

I have several installations of Adobe Creative Cloud applications to install at a client site.
(Photoshop \ Dreamweaver \ Flash \ Illustrator etc....)
Each Adobe CC application has been packaged individually with the Adobe CC packager tool as some are quite large.
They all install fine individually either manually or via our deployment tool ConfigMgr 2012.
However, if more than one is required, then we hit problems with the second application logging a 1603 MSI error (that is very generic).
    MSI Log:
CustomAction CADeploy returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)
After days of time checking and testing it seems that the Creative Cloud exe itself and subsequent dlls do not like being overwritten when they are running. I found this in the PDApp Log.
    PDApp Log:
    10/22/13 09:59:23:461 | [INFO] |  | ASU | PIM | PIM |  |  | 560 | Trying to delete back up folder for /Core/
    10/22/13 09:59:23:461 | [INFO] |  | ASU | PIM | Utilities |  |  | 560 | Unable to remove file: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\\Core_bkp\core.dll'. LastError:5

    10/22/13 09:59:23:461 | [FATAL] |  | ASU | PIM | PIM |  |  | 560 | package installation failed and the return code was -5
I tired task killing the creative cloud exe (so I could script an install), but this was not sufficient and has not guaranteed all applications will install correctly. Therefore the only solution I seem to have is to only allow installs when users are not logged in. Is this a known issue with Adobe CC applications created by the packager? My client uses 6 of the applications in the suite. I'd rather not bundle all 6 together as this creates one rather large 6.6GB install and not all users need all the Adobe CC applications.
By forcing applications to only install when no users are logged in reduces the 'On Demand' service of deploying applications and increases the cost of supporting these applications.
    Is this a known issue?
Is there a way to script stop the creative suite to allow additional applications to install, that are packaged with the Adobe Create Cloud Packager tool?

    Hi SiWhite,
I too am having this same issue but it doesn't appear to matter if a user is logged in or not.
I can get packages for Illustrator, Photoshop and some others to work, but can't get InDesign or the full suite to work.
Have you heard anything back regarding this? The package just doesn't work, I'm thinking it may be time to capture an MSI the hard way.
    Regards,
    Chris.

  • Fatal msi error mp.msi could not be installed

    Good morning,
I have SCCM 2012 R2 running on Server 2012 R2.  I've got a primary site and two secondary sites, all of them with identical hardware and software.  I've set them all up the exact same way, but on one of my secondary servers I can not get the MP

Does anyone have any ideas why I would be receiving this error?  These SCCM servers are brand new servers that are replacing our current SCCM 2007 servers and I did notice that somehow the old 2007 SCCM client had gotten installed on this server automatically
so I used ccmsetup /uninstall and also used ccmclean to remove it because I read that might be the issue, but it hasn't resolved the issue.   Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks

WOOT, WOOT!  Actually I just got it.  I ended up doing the following:
    Ran ccmsetup.exe /uninstall and rebooted
    Ran ccmclean.exe /all and rebooted
Removed IIS role from server and rebooted
Added IIS role back to server and rebooted
Checked my MPSetup and MPMsi logs and they both show success.  Finally!

  • MSI error

I'm having a problem with several of our MSI bundles. The problem is that if I install certain MSI bundles after "x" amount of time they will no longer uninstall. You get an MSI error, value cannot be null. Which I have never seen before. The Windows installer doesn't get invoked as I have checked the application log for that. This creates a problem for us as users sometimes need to uninstall the old products to install the newer versions. For example DHTML will not upgrade in place, the old version needs to be ripped out and the new one pushed in it's place.
I'm posting a snippet of the log. Notice the line Unable to find content linked to object: a827f194364ad44fad05210e6c17385f.
I can't replicate the problem. I was thinking of spinning up a VM letting it sit there for 14 days and then seeing if the box will experience the problem. I tried the usual suspects. ZAC CC, ZAC ref general bypasscache. Those didn't make a difference. I found a band aid solution on these forums which is to delete the .appstate file of the GUID and that will then allow you to install the app again and remove it. If you run msiexec /x "GUID" from the command prompt I can remove the product. I really don't this is an MSI issue since the Windows Installer service never gets invoked. It seems like Novell isn't feeding the msiexec command the correct parameters.
This one has got me puzzled....

Make sure folks are not "Cleaning" the "C:\Windows\Installer" directory.
I've seen folks think this is "Junk" and clear old files from here.
There are actually MSI stubs that are needed for removing old apps.
Actually ran across a customer who was clearing this "junk" out on a
regular basis and was having a heck of a time removing software.

  • Status.msi error

I recently did an update from windows 7 to windows 8.1 on my hp pavilion g7 notebook and my Hp officejet j6480 all in one.  I am getting a staus.msi error and it takes about 15 times before it will close. I have to unplug my printer cord to help the situation.
Please help I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it with the full version from your website and it continues to do it.   Not sure that I have the installation disk....
What are the steps I need to take to get rid of this problem i am currently in school and use my notebook and printer everday.
thank you so any help that is given.

Waterboy I have attached the event properties fromt he error I have no idea what I am looking at or looking for the code.  I tried what you sent me becaue there is no code that pops up in the box so I went to the event viewer and this is what I got.  If you could please help I am not that computer smart and just trying to get this box to stop poping up.  ( not sure if the code is the event ID???)

  • Repackaged EXE MSI Error 2343

I'm trying to repackage a Setup.exe into an MSI for an upgrade this weekend and keep running into trouble when I try to use the repackaged MSI. When I try to install it I keep getting an MSI error 2343, Specified path is empty message when I run the MSI file.
The instance that I monitored the installation for is working correctly, and there are no major differences between the original system and the one that I'm trying to test the MSI on. After turning on Installation Monitoring I have discovered the following in the logs leading up to the error.
    Code:
    MSI (c) (2C:5C) [14:08:12:593]: Note: 1: 2205 2: 3: MsiAssembly
    MSI (c) (2C:5C) [14:08:12:593]: Note: 1: 2228 2: 3: MsiAssembly 4: SELECT `MsiAssembly`.`Attributes`, `MsiAssembly`.`File_Application`, `MsiAssembly`.`File_Manifest`, `Component`.`KeyPath` FROM `MsiAssembly`, `Component` WHERE `MsiAssembly`.`Component_` = `Component`.`Component` AND `MsiAssembly`.`Component_` = ?
MSI (c) (2C:5C) [14:08:12:593]: Disallowing installation of component: {D93EBF7D-1D53-11D4-A53C-0090278A1BB8} since the same component with higher versioned keyfile exists
MSI (c) (2C:5C) [14:08:12:593]: Allowing installation of component: {B7F3DAA8-A87F-4A3B-AE74-43F9F95C1BC1} even though a modified unversioned keyfile exists and file versioning rules would disable the component
Action ended 14:08:12: CostFinalize. Return value 1.
    MSI (c) (2C:5C) [14:08:12:593]: Doing action: ISIS_SQLSERVER_AUTHENTICATION
    Action 14:08:12: ISIS_SQLSERVER_AUTHENTICATION.
    Action start 14:08:12: ISIS_SQLSERVER_AUTHENTICATION.
    MSI (c) (2C:5C) [14:08:12:593]: Note: 1: 2343
    Error 2343.Specified path is empty.
    MSI (c) (2C:5C) [14:16:00:968]: Product: iMIS 15 -- Error 2343.Specified path is empty.
The original monitored installation is working correctly, and I can't figure out what is missing from the MSI that is preventing it from installing. From this log I would guess something to do with the ISIS_SQLSERVER_AUTHENTICATION, but I can't find anything relevant to my product. It is an application that uses a MSSQL database on the back end and authenticates against SQL user accounts. Thank you for any direction for where to look for a resolution to this issue.

  • MSI ERROR STATUS 1602

    Hi There,
I'm deploying a new version of our Anti-Virus using SCCM 2012. The problem is that the software is installed sucessefuly but I receive a error MSI error 1602 (que displays that the installation failed and ask for retry). The software is already installed
but I still have that message. Can someone tell me what I did wrong?
    Thanks in advance,
    T.Bernt

The MSI error 1602 Means "User cancels installation".
You could try to install you anti virus product manually on  a machine using the following command-line:
    msiexec /i "C:\NameofMSI.msi" /L*V "C:\log\mymsi.log"
This will created a Windows Installer log file. Look through it and see if you can spot your 1602 error or any errors for that matter.
And are you sure that the anti virus software is installed correctly even though you receive the 1602 error?
I have seen this errror before in regards to upgrades - if the software was currently running on the target computer, some files would be locked for editing and the software exists with its own error code, 1602.

  • MSI error while installing database connectivity toolkit

    Hi!
We are facing problems while trying to install the database connectivity toolkit (comes as subpart of the enterprise connectivity toolkit).
The behaviour is odd. Some months back it used to install OK. Now, it fails during installation. Pls see attached .zip file that shows image of the error messages.
    Pointers:
    1) The MSI error message has increasing numbering. First attempt to install gives mesages MSI4, next might be MSI8 and so on.
    2) It used to install perfectly until few months back
    3) We have tried to inatll it on freshly formatted computers having LV 6.1 and LV 7.1 runtimes.
    4) OS is Win2000 with SP4
    5) Few days ago it installed fine on a PC on which it had not installed for many months!
    6) We have tried for all the CDs/backups where we had this software. It still fails.
    7) All our other toolkits - Internet, SPC, Sound&Vibration, SMT continue to install flawlessly.
We are unable to see any pattern or reason for this installation failure and would appreciate any help.
    Thanks,

    Hello Kileen,
    1. If you’re installing from the CD, sometimes the installer has a hard time grabbing the files from the CD. Try copying the installation CD contents over to a temporary folder on the computer and run the installer again.
    > We tried this. Problem continues.
    2. Try changing permission settings in your registry:
KB 38TFAUZH: Why Do I Get Error 1722 When Installing the Driver CD with Windows XP?
    > My system is Win2000 and I am unable to reach the settings mentioned in above link (which is for WinXP)
    3. Turn off all virus scanners. Rerun the installation.
    >We tried this. Problem continues.
Hope to see a way out.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 MSI Error

    Hello,
I have been getting the wierd error when I try to install Adobe Photoshop CS3 using the MSI package that I created.
Could not write value data to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\Handshake\{GUID}. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personel.
This error happens regardless of who is trying to install the MSI pacakage (regular account or Administrator). I even tried to give explicit permission to the regkey, however OS prevents me to do so. I would really appreciate if any of you have seen this error and guide me.
    Thank you in advance.
    Dipu

"using the MSI package that I created."
Have you tried installing without that, it may be a problem there.
    "regular account or Administrator"
Have you tried creating a new account or using the actual 'Administrator' account (not an account with Administrative permissions)?
