Adobe livecycle workflow and SAP workflow

dear all,
i am working in a new development project which is yet to be started.according to my client's description, the project deals with adobe forms with SAP as backend.
i have studied and worked for one month on adobe livecycle forms and i have some knowledge about its  products.but i didnt work on any SAP system.my doubt is that
"WE HAVE ADOBE LIVECYCLE WORKFLOW IN THE WHOLE SUITE OF LIVECYCLE SOFTWARE PRODUCTS,WHICH CAN BE USEFUL TO BUILD WORKFLOWS AND IMPROVE BUSINESS PROCESSES WITH THE HELP OF BAM.BUT WHEN ADOBE FORMS AND ADOBE FORMS MANAGER ARE INTEGRATED IN SAP..WILL THE ADOBE WORKFLOW BE PRESENT AGAIN?OR IS IT GOING TO BE THE SAP WORKFLOW WHICH DEFINES THE BUSINESS PROCESSES AND INITIATES THE PROCESSES?? ALSO IF IT IS SAP WORKFLOW THEN WHAT IS THE NEED OF INTEGRATING ADOBE WITH SAP WITHOUT ADOBE LIVECYLE WORKFLOW.??
i am looking forward for any answers from ppl.plzz help me out from this doubt.
                      regards..
                                                               raghava kumar v.s.s.

Hi Raghava,
correct, there are currently no plans to integrate Forms Manager into SAP although we have no alternative solution within SAP, i.e. you'd have to build something like Forms Manager for your purposes.
To get a general overview on the SAP integration, start here: <a href="http://sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/interactiveforms">http://sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/interactiveforms</a>
You need NetWeaver, because the Adobe functions are part of it. Web Dynpro is one of the environments that have Adobe forms functions integrated, it is the most suitable one for interactive scenarios.
We may have a different idea of what SAP is. To me, SAP comprises the business data in the ERP/CRM/etc. system and the technology components such as NetWeaver etc. Perhaps that's the misunderstanding.
Best,
Markus

  • Extension fields in forms using Adobe LiveCycle Designer and SAP Cloud Application Studio.

    Hello everyone,
I am new to using SAP Cloud Application Studio and am currently working on forms.
I have created some extension fields in the dunning letter form message type : FormDunning Notification.
Upon activating, the extension fields do show up in backend form data type structure.
However i am unable to find the fields in the front end form under Form Template Maintenance.
I have tried opening form with open editor as well as downloading template and opening in Adobe LiveCycle Designer .
After creating the data connection in adobe ,the first field (ProjNumDun ) do appear in correct place in data view. But i cant find the rest of the fields.
Any help, guidance and suggestion will be really appriciated.
    Thanking in advance,
    Kamakshi

    Kamakshi,
First, any extension fields added must be explicitly assigned to appear on the forms. Through Front-end Adaptation, this would be via the "Further Usage" link. Within the SDK, you'd right-click the XBO and select "Enhance Forms" (which would take you to the same screen as you'd end up at in through front-end").
You must select "Add Field and Edit..." to actually assign it to the Form Template schema.
Once this step is done, re-download the Form Template, and make sure to reload the Data Connection within LiveCycle. Through there, you should see your fields. You'll likely have to dig for them - they appear at the very end of the child elements.
Note that, while fields added through the front-end have a long string appended to the end (for example, it would appear as "ExtensionField_1234AISU897234HJA" if added via front-end adaptation), the fields added via the SDK do NOT have the suffix (you'll be looking for an element with JUST the field name, i.e. "ExtensionField")

  • Custom Library 'Adobe LiveCycle Workflow Fields'

    Hello,
I'm just reading through the document 'creating_workflows.pdf' of Workflow 7.0. In the chapter about designing forms for workflow it says that the custom library is available with the SDK, however I was not able to locate the library. There are also some workflow fields in Adobe Designer 7.0, but I think they are for older workflow versions, because the field names don't match the ones in the documentation ('creating_workflows.pdf'). Can somebody help me locate the library or tell me which fields to use for my forms?
    Thanks!
    Regards, Karin Garreis

    Hi Karin
The library is actually in a file called Adobe LiveCycle Workflow Field.xfo which is part of the Workflow SDK. You will find it in:
    \LiveCycleWorkflow7_SDK\Misc
    See:
Mike J. Potter, "Adobe LiveCycle Workflow 7.0 SDK (38.3 M file)" #5, 20 Sep 2005 12:48 pm for info on how to get the SDK.
In order to install this library, you need to create a new Group in the library palette, and then add this file to the directory that gets automatically created to hold this group. The usual location for new groups is:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Designer 7.0\EN\objects\[grpname]
    I hope this helps...

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer and send XML

    Dear all,
I have developped a PDF with Adobe LiveCycle Designer  that send an XML file to BW using a button Submit. But this PDF works when executed from the Adobe LiveCycle Designer software (tabpstrip PDF preview) but does not work when it is executed standalone (no logon asked.. )
Do you have some ideas to solve this problem ?
    Regards,
    Vince

    Hi Nitesh,
I have installed ADL standalone on my pc.
When I execute my PDF from ADL it works : I click on a button and a logon screen on a SAP system is shown (like access on web report), I fill it and the XML file is sent and shown through RSA3 transaction.
But when I launch the PDF alone, I get an error message when I clik on the same button : 'HTTP 401 - Unauthorized'.
Do you have another clue ?
    Regards,
    Vince

  • Adobe LiveCycle opens and closes automatically from Acrobat 9 Pro

I just upgraded to Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro because I wanted to use the LiveCycle form editor. When I try to open LiveCycle from Acrobat 9 Pro Forms menu tab, LiveCycle opens and then closes instantly.  I tried to open it several times but the same thing happened. Luckily I had an old form which was save as *.xpd which opened LiveCycle.
Does anyone know what the issue is when trying to open LiveCycle from the Adobe 9 Pro Form tab? Thanks in advance.

I can't answer as to why Designer is opening/closing in Acrobat, but you can open it by itself.
The EXE file is located with the Acrobat install.   On my Win 7 its located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Designer 8.2\FormDesigner.exe

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer and Office 2010

    Hi guys,
I'm using Adobe LiveCycle Designer (version 9 / ES2). I try to open a MS Word file, but I receive an error message.
Word (version XP or higher) cannot be found on the machine.
    OS: Windows 7 Enterprise
    Office: 2010
I read that the version 8.2 of LiveCycle Designer doesn't work with Office 2007 and higher. In this constellation the same error message appears. Is it the same problem on my side? How can I solve it?
    Many Thanks,
    untalentiert

I'm running Win XP using Parallels 8... LiveCycle Designer is WIndows only and Acrobat XI will only import hyperlinks correctly from Windows versions of Office - which is why I use Office on both the Mac and Windows side, as well as Acrobat XI on both platforms. You can't use the Office plug-ins for Office using LibreOffice (or even Office 2011 for Mac) hence the need to open docs in Word on the Windows side instead of the Mac side.
What I'm confused by is the pricing difference between the packages - I guessing that the $163 package is the 'full retail' and not an OEM or anything - but I don't know if an OEM would even work under a VM with Parallels...
So I may end up with the full retail version, although I'd like to save the $70 difference if I can!
    Thanks,
    Clinton

  • Adobe Livecycle ES2 and ES3

    Good Morning,
After some tests on adobe livecycle ES2 trial version , I identified a problem with pdf transformation. When we flattened the pdf, the images dissapeared (probably due to remote path), and charts werent displaying properly. After that, we tried the ES3 Version , and it worked fine, without any of those problems. My question is, was that issue fixed in the ES2? Will I be able to flatten pdf's properly using the ES2 platform? Or do I need to buy the ES3?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
If you are willing to use ES2 and the issue is still not resolved , please provide us additional details and sample file if possible so that we can look in to it further

I am trying to send email. This email have information
    1. Email name.
    2. Subject.
    3. Body data.

    Hi Madhu
If you want to send it from the PDF file itself (rather than from a workflow), you should:
    1. Reader-enable the form (or open it in Acrobat)
    2. Create a regular button (not an Email button)
    3. Change type to "Submit"
    4. On submit tab, Format=PDF, URL=mailto:[email protected]

  • Adobe Interactive Forms and SAP PI

Has anyone used SAP PI to process offline Adobe Interactive forms?
Any java api available that will do the trick?
We can use ABAP mapping but want to avoid such a design. Java is the preferred method.
PS: I am surprised why there is no standard integration available for the offline forms with SAP PI.

SAP PI is intended to be used for system integration on messaging base.
It is not intended to process forms.

    Karim

    Hi,
Go Through the SAP Note: 1098009 "Limitations for WebDynpro ABAP", where it is specified to use the Adobe Reader or Acrobat version's of 9.1, if its not possible for the users, who use Adobe Reader, to upgrade then use the Adobe Reader version's 8.1.5 or 7.1.1.

  • How to configure Adobe LiveCycle designer on my SAP Server?

    Dear friends.
I have installed SAP ECC 6.0 and Adobe LiveCycle designer ES 8.2 on my computer.
Now I want to use Adobe LiveCycle designer in SAP by TCODE:SFP.
Please tell me how to configure Adobe LiveCycle designer on my SAP Server in details.

    Hi MSReddy,
You don't need to configure it on SAP server. It should be installed on you desktop only.
Install ADLC on your desktop and open SFP it should work. If its not showing you the layout it means you are using wrong version of ADLC. Use ADLC downloaded from SAP Service market place only.(service.sap.com), else it will create problems.

  • How to crop pages using Adobe LiveCycle ES2 PDF Generator and Acrobat 9.2 Pro Extended

    Hi all,
I'm evaluating the possibilities of Adobe LiveCycle ES2.0 PDF Generator in order to convert on the fly (programmatically) MS Office Documents and Visio drawings into PDF files.
I'm able to trigger this process using the Webservices API (from within C#). However when generating the PDF files in this way, each and every PDF file has a lot of white margins around it as it is generated as an 8x11 inch page.
I have been looking in ways to crop these white margins from around the information, so that the PDF content is only showing the actual content (in order to be used as an image).
I found a way of doing this manually by opening the generated PDF file of LiveCycle in Acrobat 9.2 Pro Extended and using the Document > Crop Pages... option.
So my question is: Can this be done programmatically using Adobe LiveCycle ES (and/or API functions of the Acrobat tool).
The envisioned solution would run on a server (without interaction/monitoring requirements by a human).
Any input about this is highly appreciated.

  • Adobe LiveCycle ES4 add new and update Access Database, Non-Null failure

I am using adobe livecycle es4 and I am trying to add a new record and then update it to an Access database. However, when i press update the error tells me that i cannot have Null values and it displays a check box field name. How can i allow a null value for a check box? Because when my form is used, not all of the check boxes will be checked

You can use the resolveNode function that can catch the null value of your check box component.
    Exemple:
    if (this.resolveNode("NameCheckBox").rawValue == null)
    //Do Something
