Adobe losing it?

Adobe seems to have an attitude problem - I hope it's not losing it...
I am downloading the latest version of flash player.
1. First of all, it seems to always want to load something else with it - the default setting is to also download and install McAfee, Chrome etc. - you need to un-select it if you don't want it. I thought that by now the world has learned that this kind of default options is politically wrong! I don't wan to see Adobe engaging in it, regardless of how much extra revenue it may bring. It is wrong. The screen could ask politely "would you also like to try this or that?" and the default setting should be NO.
2. After downloading it, tried to run it - it wants me to close my browser. It is not convenient for me to do that now so I decide to postpone the whole process. I go to the place where the download resides, and try to delete it. IT DOESN'T LET ME! IT WANTS A PASSWORD! Now Adobe is not letting me simple delete its download on my own computer?
3. This is my first time on these forums. The process of getting here was really difficult, time consuming, and extremely unfriendly. I could not find a place to simply go and file a complaints. I could not set up an account on the forums without going through a lot of hoops, requiring me to register some product etc. I ended up chatting with a support person who did me a big favour and set me up - I still don't know if I could have done this on my own. I am a highly experienced and intelligent user, I have been around forever, been there and done that, seen untold number of sites and forums, and I am telling you - this place is not nice and friendly. Again, if this company is going to continue to thrive, it must change or else run a chance of losing it all to somebody else who will.
Everything here smacks of the kind of attitude that has brought many companies down. I don't want to see if happen here.

Hi all
This has just started happening and was intermittent but now all the time? When I preview or print an Excel doc it looks ok, but when I choose Adobe PDF printer driver it previews (and prints) with text chopped off on the far right side. Can anyone help with this? We have Adobe 6.

Printing from a 'Print to file' file

Hey there,
We had a serious issue trying to print a job application. The application had a 'send' button but didn't allow us to save the file after filling it in. Unfortunately, the computer used wasn't connected to a printer, so we tried Print to File. This crashed Adobe, losing all of the application form data, so our only copy is now in the output from the Print to File.
How do I go about printing that file now? I can't open it in any application I've tried.
Is it possible to convert the 'print to file' ouput file back into a pdf?
Hope somebody can help us out.

You basically created a postscript file (it's probably labeled as .prn?)
There is nothing Reader can do to take it back to a PDF. If you just need a print out of it, you may be able to either right click and choose print or go to the DOS screen and print from there (you'll have to excuse the lack of deatails on the last one, I don't use Windows very often).
You could also use Acrobat to convert it back to a PDF but I assume you don't have that if you were using Reader?

I am attempting to upgrade from Adobe Premier Elements 9 to Adobe Premier Elements 13 after using 13's trial version for a few weeks. I am unable to find where and how to do this without losing the project I have been working on. Please help?

Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 and Premiere Elements 13 are standalone products.
So, you can have both on the same computer, but only open one for your work.
The classical recommendation is to finish a project in the version in which it was created since there
is no guarantee that a project from an earlier version will open in the later version. Probably will, but
no guarantees. And, when you do explore this, do it from a copy of the earlier version project. Once you
take the earlier version project into a later version one, you cannot go back to edit the later version edited
project in the earlier version program.
If you have both versions (9 and 13) on the same computer and you have not moved, deleted, renamed any of the version 9's files/folders,
right click the saved closed Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 project file, select Open With, and then Adobe Premiere Elements 13.
(Your 9.0/9.0.1 saved closed project file should be found in Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/9.0.)

Adobe Premiere CC 2014.2: losing rendered files when using warp stabilizer

Hi,
I am constantly losing rendered files when using the warp stabilizer. So far I have tried about every hint I could find on the web such as cleaning the cache, rebuilding the rendered files, creating additional sequences etc etc.
Honestly I am getting tired of using a product that isnt cheap in the first place to rent and where a bug like this apparently persists over several product versions without being fully fixed (I have had this problem throughout 2014 but according to forum postings others seem to have problems with much earlier versions as well).
I would be really grateful if somebofy has any suggestion how this can be addressed.
I am also happy to help testing fixes - if there are any fixes available.

Welcome to the Adobe forums.
Please try the steps mentioned below and check if it works for you.
1. Launch Premiere Pro and create a Project, go to File menu>Project Settings>Renderer and change the Renderer to Software only mode, delete previews if you get a prompt and then try to import the clip.
2. If step 1 fails or the Renderer is already on Software only mode, go to Start Menu and search for Device Manager, go into Display Adapters and Right click on the Graphics card to select Update driver software option, on the next screen choose "Browse my computer for driver software", then choose "Let me Pick from a list..." option and from the list select "Standard VGA Graphics adapters. You might need to change the screen resolution of your screen and once done restart the machine again.
Launch Premiere Pro and import the clip to check.

Uncheck the reflow option and apply the updates to Acrobat Pro 9.0. Windows 7 was released after Acrobat 9 and the only way to make sure you have a program that will work properly with Windows 7 is to apply the updates. There have also been some significant security patches included with the updates.

I purchased a download copy of Acrobat Pro XI for Mac from a reseller online for $199.00. Now I am suspicious that the reseller is less than trustworthy. Could I purchase a copy from Adobe without losing the $199 that I already spent?

I doubt it. The clue should be the price. Any time you see a copy available for less than from Adobe, I would be suspicious. You can inquire with the Adobe sales folks, but don't expect any credit. At this point, I would suggest just buying AA DC, rather than AA XI.

Losing defined patterns after non-Adobe software updates

Thanks for taking the time to try to help me. I am running CS2/Windows XP.
I keep losing my defined patterns after software updates, but our MIS team hasn't made any changes to my Adobe software (obviously ).
I don't lose all of them; it appears that the patterns that I made 2 years or more ago are safe.
I am wondering if someone can tell me where PS stores the files when I define my patterns so that I can have MIS protect that file during future updates. I am tired of wasting time re-doing them!

Sounds like they may be wiping our part of your user preferences directory by mistake, and you get reset to the defaults.
Until you save you presets, they are stored in Photoshop's preferences directory.
After you save them - they're whereever you saved the file.

Adobe Bridge saving my edited files in an 'unknown format' - Losing my work

When I edit an image in Photoshop through Adobe Bridge and save it as a jpeg, it is not saving as selected. Instead, it is saving the edited image in an 'unknown' and unusable format. I loose my editing work. I discovered this doesn't happen if I save the image in a new folder but I would still like to fix this problem; I've been editing for two years without this issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem or know how to fix it?

Adobe Bridge does not "save", open or edit anything other than the metadata. The files are saved by whatever application hands them to them, whether that be Photoshop, Camera Raw, Illustrator, MS Word or whatever.
If files are being lost in just one folder, you have corruption in that particular folder. The first step is to go to the Tools menu in Bridge, and run the "Purge Cache for Folder 'xxxxyyy'" command. The next step is to create a brand new folder, not inside the corrupted one, and move all your files there.
You should also run Apple's Disk Utility to Repair the Disk and to Repair Permissions for your disk.
Next time, please provide details about your setup.

Losing extended list of page sizes in Adobe PDF printer

I have Acrobat 9.0 Pro installed on Windows 7, and use it with Autocad 2011 x64 (no PDFmaker! very irritating, but another story).
From time to time, the Adobe PDF "printer" loses its extended list of page sizes, including the ARCH oversized page sizes. It appears to revert to the list one would see in Acrobat 9.0 Standard.
Usually, going to Programs, and doing a repair installation restores the list, though the first attempt to repair doesn't always seem to take.
Still, I would like to understand what is causing this breakdown, and prevent it, if possible. Any ideas?

Have no clue, unless it is that you are running a very old version of AA 9. Updating to AA 9.5.1 might resolve the issue.

Adobe Acrobat losing file association when installing Adobe Reader X or XI (Using Cust. Wizard)

I'm an IT professionnal in a large company, and we've been dealing with an issue using this software.
Using the "Adobe Customization Wizard 9", prior to version X and XI, the following option was available:
Adobe Acrobat 9:
Adobe Reader 9:
As you see, the customization wizard of both software allowed you to leave Adobe Acrobat as the default PDF handler.
Now, let's look at the Customization Wizard X
Adobe Acrobat X: (XI has the same options)
Adobe Reader X: (XI has the same options)
Now here, we can see that in Adobe Reader X, we only have "Make Reader the default" or "Installer will decide which will be the default"
I want to keep Adobe Acrobat as the default, so I choose "Installer will decide which product will be the default"
Guess which software becomes the default? Adobe Reader....
So what is happening here is that Adobe Customization Wizard X and XI will NOT let you keep Acrobat as the default, unless you execute a repair or reinstall Acrobat after installing Adobe Reader.
Adobe Reader X and XI forces itself to become the default handler, in every option scenario we can find. Adobe Customization Wizard 9 would let you choose to keep Acrobat as the handler. Why was this removed in X and XI?
This is very annoying and causing a lot of grief inside the company. Is there a solution for this?

Can't purchase Creative Cloud. Adobe says I live in Saint Helena... losing confidence in Adobe's ability to run a website.

Has anyone else had Adobe tell them they live in a country like Saint Helena, and therefore they cannot sell you Creative Cloud in that location? Adobe Prem 5.5 PC - Editing a multi camera & audio Concert into separate songs without losing sync

I have just finished completing a full synchronisation of multiple cameras and audio sources that took some imense amount of time to finish - phew!
Now I need to edt this into 11 separate songs, each with its own opening and closing titles.
I cannot easily cut in or using ripple delete or another cutting tool to change this without the calamity of losing sync.
I almost need to save this whole project as a scene and then re import it as another sequesnce and just cut it to suit each song but still not sure what method for saving it as I do not want to drop a generation.
Or should I copy and paste into a new sequence but then sync is a problem as soon as I cut it !!
Anyone who might have had experience of such a heavy workload of a project that could offer some advice, would be most welcome please.
In an older editing system, I was just able to save as a scene - just not sure with Premiere.
I have 5 or 6 video tracks and a similiar number of audio tracks so far, so worried about the sync issue now.
