Adobe lost the plot? Still can't open ebooks purchased on other machines.

I have ebooks from various different sources and I'm not able to re-download them (Amazon no longer carries Frommers guides in ebook format, Frommers don't sell them directly either and Adobe killed their own store) and since I downloaded them all on a machine that I have since replaced I can't read them!
Today the Digital Editions was officially released and guess what. I tried opening all of my ebooks and this is what I see: "This document cannot be opened on this machine. Please contact the site where you obtained the document to download another copy."
For months the FAQ for the Digital Editions Beta claimed that a future version will enable DRM support for books purchased on other machines. To add insult to injury, not only is the official version still crippled, they've removed any mention of DRM support for books purchased on other machines from the official FAQ.
But hey, soon this piece of garbage will be adware (see the 'Is Digital Editions free for me and my customers to use?' topic in the faq: http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/faq)...

This product is very very very bad. I just bought my first e-book and set up looked at the book on my work pc. Now I installed the software in my home laptop and suprise!!!: of course it doesn't work. The program asks me to set up/authorize the computer and I keep on getting the following message:

It seems like the server is just not responding, but I just don/t care why it doesn't work, I need it to work!!!. Adobe people: customers are supposed to be able to read the books in up to 6 computers, GET IT TO WORK FAST or you will be quickly out of the market with this product (judging by the other comments posted here)

Save the file locally, open the Reader application and try to open it from there. If it still doesn't work provide the full details of your OS, Reader version and the exact error message you're getting when you try to open the file.

It seems a little frustrating not knowing what happened to my order and not being able to contact anyone. Is all this usual with Adobe or are they just having technical problems this week?

You need camera raw 8.4 for your camera, if it’s Digital Rebel T5 EOS 1200D EOS Kiss X70. It is not compatible with PSE11; so it’s a bit odd if that software was bundled with the camera except that it will work with jpegs. I suggest you download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your CR2 files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the DNG files will editable in PSE11(keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

Don't be afraid to bump this topic. There's also an App Store forum where you might repost this question, but give some of these details in your post. I'd rephrase the topic to something like "Can't use App Store to upgrade." (Instead of can't "open".) Then give the details.

As you probably know the Canon plug-in enables Log & Transfer in FCP7. I'm not sure whether it works with Final Cut Express or not.
Look in Applications>Canon Utilities. I'm running 10.6 as well and that is where it's located on my machine.

Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book, click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' button :
and then the 'Report a Problem' link on its line :
and select 'inadvertently purchased' as the problem and fill in the details (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).

If they are the third party apps that are not working - try downloading another app - any free app is fine. Try that.

You need camera raw 6.4 for your camera. It is mot compatible with PSE8. You need to upgrade to PSE13. Alternatively, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in PSE8 (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
