Adobe make you web site less confusing
Adobe for goodness sake clear the clutter from your web site. I don't want to go round in circles just to ask a question from so called support. Here another heads up, help centres, where ever they are located should have people who know the programmes not just work from scripts on problems. Knowledge of a programme is far more useful, it allows for independent thinking to solve problems or recognise when a problem should be referred to the coders for fixing..
Steve,
You are far from the first one to report forum issues.
As you can see hidden in this one:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/999431
a limited number of them should be solved tomorrow.
There are quite a few other threads about the subject, including:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1002752?tstart=0
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1003654?tstart=0
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1002437?tstart=0
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/999549?tstart=0
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1004552?tstart=0
The last one only hits some of us, including myself (it is also discussed elsewhere).
I have even seen threads where there was nothing visible at all in the OP for me, while others have been able to read and answer it.

Embedding Adobe Player in WEB site
How do I make my WEB site bring the Adobe player up
automatically with content playing? It needs to be similiar to
Myspace.
Rock335Hello GranNuNu,
In order to access the Embedded document options. You'll need
to have the document in your Share organizer, rather than your
Buzzword organizer.
Once the file in the Share, or My Files, organizer, you'll be
able to click on the drop down contextual menu for the file, and
choose "Copy Embed Code"
With that code, you'll be able to embed the file into your
HTML web page.
Hope that gives some more insight into what you're looking to
accomplish!
Cheers,

when you create a website in Adobe InDesiged. How do you publish it to a website
thanks,
joeIdeally, you would go from InDesign to Photoshop and from Photoshop to another authoring programs, like Muse. InDesign is a much faster way to create layouts but Photoshop is a required step if you want to author a web site using Adobe products.
There's no automated conversion tool from Adobe to go from InDesign to Photoshop because the very structure of their PostScript files is different. We created our own script for Mac users that can process InDesign files and generate layered PSD.

Adobe setting manager web site showing "This content requires Flash" in FireFox
From the following page (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html) it tells me that I have the latest version of Flash installed, but yet when I go to any of the "Settings Manager" pages I keep getting the
This content requires Flash
Download the free Flash Player now!
I am using the latest version of Firefox. I am not sure if it's a FF issue or an adobe flash issue.. I searched and found the same issue with IE in the forums and checked it out but nothing in the messages indicated anything that would help me. My IE works perfectly.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled many time even using the special uninstall tools from the site to clean up older versions and such, but nothing worked.I am running Windows XP SP3.
These are the files I have.
Flash10v.ocx
FlashInstall.log
flashplayer.xpt
FlashUtil10v_ActiveX.dll
FlashUtil10v_ActiveX.exe
FlashUtil11f_Plugin.exe
install.log
NPSWF32.dll
The funny thing is, I have the exact same setup on my laptop and everything work fine there..
Although in the same directory on my laptop, the 10v files are 10h instead. -
Can the apps on the Adobe Add-on web site be used with PSE 12/13
Can these add-ons be used with Photoshop Elements 12/13? These programs are not in the list of Adobe programs.
Hi jacruzat,
I've moved your question to the Photoshop Elements forum so that the smart folks who visit this forum regularly can help answer your question.

Is is possible to make a web site using Lightroom that has smaller images that you can click on that would expand the image like it works here to show a larger image?
I like the effect here. Even the x mark to close is perfect.
Thanks,
KenI'm pretty well versed in Dreamweaver and XHTML, enough to know that there are 'behaviors' that can be enlisted in Dreamweaver to produce various 'effects' with menus. I wasn't sure, as I have never seen, if there is a 'behavior' that can be brought in to Dreamweaver to make images behave like this.
Okay, that I now know it's not going to be something that is a part of Lightroom's capablities, I think I'll jump over to the Dreamweaver site and explore what they have to say on this.
Thanks,

My prior subject header was a little confusing, so I hope it's okay I start over again and state more clearly what I need.
I have hundreds of users accessing Adobe Captivate 5.5 training. Many users have no trouble viewing the content. SOME users have trouble, specifically when viewing a video inserted into the training. It just won't play for them. These users have different browsers, so it would seem the type of browser is not an issue.
What I am hoping for is ...
a web site that lets users know they have everything needed to run any content within a Captivate session. For example, as you know, Adobe has a web site to inform the user what version of Flash Player they have (if any). I would be great to have a site that would let the user know if they meet the minimum requirements (not just Flash Player) to participate successfully in a training.
Is anyone aware of such a site? Or have ideas on how to build one?
Thank you, and I'm sorry for not being clearer on the prior post.
Best regards,
MarkCaptivate outputs (generally) as Flash. So as long as users have a recent version of the Flash player, they should technically be able to play back the content.
However, of course, online delivery depends on the user's internet connection. What if you're feeding them video and their connection is slow?
For similar concerns, we point our users to speedtest.net and ask them to post their results. Sometimes that helps illustrate their slow connection means a slow video delivery.
And, of course, the older the computer, the less-fast it'll be in rendering the course. My oldest computer, used occasionally and with frustration by my 5 y/old, plays Flash sites horribly - and it's a 1.6ghz computer with 512mb RAM and XP...with latest browsers and Flash player. You can always ask for their computer spec, but that's not an easy thing to determine via software/website.
So you can create a simple 'minimum requirements' page that you can point to...but one that actually does a diagnostic...well, aside from simple Flash player/version detection (which is fairly simple), that's a complex task. -
how come when i make a web site and i test it in my local server it works fine when i tranfer to server certain things do not work example i used javascript to put in a prompt bar for a newsletter page at the server it did not work but at local it did also it works at MOZZILLA but not internet explorer i also have cs4 was wondering if there is a way to test a page in dreamweaver and then transfer THANK YOU X-FACTOR-MEDIA
In future, please try to make the subject line of your posts shorter. In this case the following would have been sufficient: "JavaScript works locally, but not on remote server".
Short, but meaningful subject lines make it easier for others to identify what your question is about, and often bring faster help. -
I apologise if this is an old (or stupid!) question, but is there anything I can do to make my web site automatically fit the size of the screen being used to view the site?
Hope someone is happy to help an iWeb apprentice. My web site is www.lloydventures.com
Cheers....ScottyGuys,
thanks so much for the replies. Firstly, apologies for the incomplete link. I know the http:// is needed. Just a typo this time.
The menu is done using template at http://www.opencube.com. I just take the modified code and paste it into widget. I then do not use either of the iWeb navigation options. There are some great menu versions at Open Cube (oh, and its free!).
Wrt to the width I set my web site, when you have an Apple iMac, you just want to hope everyone else does too! I will make my pages smaller as suggested. Its just a shame there isn't a 'fit to screen' option although that is probably a bit ambitious.
Cheers guys and thanks again.

Creating multiple web sites for separate domain names
Is it possible to create a different web site using a different web address in IWeb 06? A friend asked me to make a web site for them....can/how do I publish it to a different address?
Thanks for the help!Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The best way is to have a separate domain name for each site you want to manage. When you publish the sites each will have a separate URL. It will be:
http://web.mac.com/your .Mac account name/the site folder name/index.html
I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

Does AT&T no longer have the text photo web site?
It used to be that if someone sent you a text with a photo, you got a meg that directed you to an AT&T web site to se the photo. Is that turned off now? I am not getting photos any more, which, even thought not SMS, was still better than nothing.....
Walgreens would need to make their web site compatible with Firefox.

Oracle web site - Your site needs help
I somewhat new Oracle and being a developer for years and using software vendor web sites to get things can be challenging.
However, Oracle is one of the worst web sites I have ever seen.
I am trying to download the Oracel Client (Yeah...where the heck is it??) and haven't found it for over 30 minutes.
Searching your site really stinks...it's awful!!!!!
Finding anything is like...well...you can't!
Do yourself AND especially your client(s) a favor...Make your web site easy to use...it really needs help.I have too very really frustated by Oracle Website for several years. Just today I was trying to download the Oracle personal edition, and putting 'download' or 'oracle personal edition' in the search box, and the results are mainly white papers and tech docs. The menu option also are not really hepful, neither the site-map.
So after 30 mins, i finally got to what i was looking for. The thing is that while trying to get to the page, you get lost in the Oracle 'labyrinth' web-site and come across several interesting docs ( which i wont understand everything anyway). Its like going to the supermarket for an advertised product at $10 and you get out of the supermarket with lots of stuff at $300 you were not aiming to buy at first.
Got my point ...well, I think Oracle wants to keep its website as it is. A company like Oracle does not lack resources to develop a more modern, easy-to-use and quick web-site. Certainly, the website handles a lot of info and lays on Oracle Portal ( if am right) but am sure Oracle does not lack database /application server and expertise to make it quicker and better !!

I have used Firefox for years but recently I've had instances where Firefox will not work with some web sites. The most recent is Walgreens photo. I spent about an hour being frustrated then called Walgreens. They told me that I had to use Internet Explorer. Sure enough it worked fine. Can Firefox be made compatible with Walgreen's web site?
