Adobe Media Converter problems...

Problem #1 - seems when I'm trying to convert larger files, I instantly get the message in the timeline "Conforming file..." - this NEVER goes away.  However, 9 times out of 10, if I restart my machine and try again it will instantly start encoding without any issues - so obviously there was no need for any conforming in the first place.  What could be causing this and how do I fix it?
Problem #2 - my file are 1920x1080.  If I convert them to f4v's without any resizing, and then play in a flash player at 640x360, the video is stretched and not as "high" as it should be, despite the 640x360 being a perfect aspect ratio to the 1920x1080.  If I do convert with resizing, then it looks fine, but I'd like to have a better quality when users switch to full screen if possible...
What might I be doing wrong?  Thanks in advance...

If the Audio is not in 32-bit, floating point form, with existing PEK files, then it DOES need to be conformed. I do not know of any camera that shoots 32-bit, floating point Audio, but might have missed one.
In your Project's Scratch Disk folders do you have the CFA and PEK files already? If not, they need to be generated. If so, no Conforming should go on.
Because of the size of the CFA's, I mentioned the free space on HDD's, as many have experienced Conforming issues, when they just did not have enough space. Cannot say that this is your issue, but is something to check.
Also, the time to Conform the Audio will depend greatly on the Audio specs. and CODEC used, plus the Duration of the Clips, plus the speed of the computer.
As a for instances, if one Imports a muxed MPEG w/ 12-bit 32KHz Audio (MPEG CODEC), it will take MUCH longer to Conform, than would a DV-AVI Type II with PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit Audio.
With the former, one can expect to go to Starbucks, get a latte and then come back to find it completing, and with the latter, it will happen almost too quickly to even see the blue progress bar. Still, the Durations and the system will weigh heavily on those general timings.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • HDV conversion for Premiere CC  Windows using Adobe Media Converter

We are trying to use HDV footage in Premiere CC on a Windows system. The HDV footage was given to us already been captured on a drive. It will play using different players. We need to convert it to a format that Windows Premiere CC can understand. When we go to convert the footage in Adobe Media Converter, it can not even read the footage to be able to convert it. The Export Settings/Source says "Media Pending"    What are we missing here? Thanks.

"Media Pending" means just that...be patient. When I import HDV clips into Premiere, I get that same message on screen, but at lower right of Premiere screen it will show a progress bar for "Indexing" of the MPEG video. Once that completes, then I can see the video. Give it a try in Premiere. HDV is definitely supported.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 and Adobe Media Encoder Problems

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on a Mac running 10.6, and I consistently encounter this problem when trying to export a Premiere project using Adobe Media Encoder.
What does this mean? And has anyone else encountered this problem as well? I really need a fix if there is one, because I really need to be using Premiere. I have reinstalled several times, but to no avail. Help me please!

    Jim, thanks for testing.
My concerns are about a)distribution and general b)compatibility.
    a) When videos are distributed most of the users will probably try to open the files with Windows Media Player. So it is not a good start to have fresh exported h.264 videos which won't run fine with the 'main' player on windows
    b) I am wondering if the Problems with Windows Media Player may also be a sign of a general compatibility issue of the h.264 video itself
At least in case b) Adobe would have to look into this.
    Here is another test video:

  • Can I add codecs to Adobe Media Converter?

I have two marketing professionals who from time to time have to convert media that a third party sends us to a format we can post on our internal intranet site.  Being a mix of Windows XP and Windows 7, the most common format that will play in browser is WMV.  One person can convert to WMV and a whole boatload of other formats are also available in the format column.  Another person only has a few things in their format column like FLV and MPEG4.  We tried the MPEG4 option and we copied the file to our intranet webserver and followed code guidelines here: http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_videos.asp but Windows XP clients using IE7 or 8 cannot playback the file.  The only thing that seems to work for IE7/8 XP users is using this mess of code here: http://www.mediacollege.com/video/format/windows-media/streaming/embed.html  and ensuring that the video file is in WMV format.
So basically we need to add a way for the other person to get all the additional formats... really just the WMV format.  The origninal file is a mov file and can be well over 100+ MB.  The WMV file is about 20-30 MB and on a LAN is is much better than 100+ mb.  Plus WMV just natively works without installing additional software on 100+ employees machines.
    Thank you for your help.
    Adobe CS5.

We ended up purchasing a program for $35 to convert the video.
Seems like the Adobe Creative suite includes Media Encoder, but only the most advanced CS suite with Premier adds all the codecs to Media encoder.  First I did try adding things like sharks windows xp codec pack and others.  While that allows playback of various h.264, x.264, mkv and other file formats, it does not add anything like wmv to Adobe Media Encoder.
$35 wasn't a bad price compared to Adobe Premier which would be a waste to spend money on something they just need to convert - not produce video.

  • Cropping .mov with Adobe Media Encoder Problem????

I have a qt.mov that is 1920 by 1900, I needed to crop it down to 320 186. I did the conversion in Adobe Media Encoder using the same settings as the original movie. In QT the movie plays fine but when I embed it in the page and upload to the server the movie does not play as I would normally see the player then the stream and finally the movie. Any reason why this would be?
    RD

Went and got QT pro, I see that it has the streaming option, when I exported the file I chose streaming, uploaded the finished file and it works perfect.

  • Adobe Media Encoder Problems

I am having a problem with project settings when I use acvhd files. I add the .m2ts files and select Matrox AVI 1440X1080 and all I ever get is a 720X486. I do not know whats going on. I am trying to get the file into the matrox AVI so it will playback on the Premiere Pro CS4 timeline without the impossible to edit choppy playback.
When I click the settings button I get another screen with a video window, The input shows the original 1920X1080 but the output shows 720X486, there is now ay to change it.
Working with a quad core 2.8 Ghz, 8 gb ram, Video Card is a nvidia 9500GT with 1 Mg ram. The system is robust enough for the software but Premiere cannot handle HD quality.
May be a good time to switch to Apple with FCP. Maybe the money I spend there won't be as much as it's cost me dealing with PC's.

I bought a camera that shoots in AVCHD 1920X1080 resolution. That camera costs $1100.00 and the quality blows away the $6500 cameras quality, I own both. I can import the .m2ts files yet they don't playback from the time line. Yet the software that came with the camera plays back at full screen full HD quality without any problems. I gotta say it's an Adobe issue. Because I installed Premiere CS4 and Media Encoder on a non Matrox system. No way does it work with HD.
Maybe I'll just stick to using my SD cameras because the editing software has not caught up with the rest of us.

  • Adobe ExportPDF convert problem

When I go to my adobePDF file and click on convert to WORD,then convert button is not active. I'm sign in and still not working. It says to subscribed but I am already. I've tried to contact support line but the phone numbers don't work! Please could anyone HELP ME!!!
    Thank you,Mary

    MaryS,
I'm sorry for the issues that you're having. I see that there is an ExportPDF subscription associated with the same Adobe ID that you used to post to this forum <<[email protected]>>. It sounds like you're trying to use ExportPDF from within Adobe Reader, using the right-side Tools Pane. It also sounds like you're trying to log into ExportPDF directly from <<https://www.acrobat.com/exportpdf>> and that's not working either. Is that correct?
If you log into the website and choose "Select PDF file..." (which uploads PDF), you should then see a Save button. Clicking Save will show you a Save As... dialog which allows you to choose where on your local computer the file will be saved. Is this process not working for you? Can you let me know where exactly this process is breaking for you? I can then diagnosis further.

  • Adobe DNG Converter Problem - Won't recognise files!

    Hi
I have downloaded Adobe Digital Negative Converter as a way of converting Nikon NEF files from a Nikon D3000 to DNG so I can edit them in Photoshop CS3. Currently the images from the D3000 won't open in CS3.
When using the DNG converter, on clicking on the 'Covert' button it is coming up with the following error message:
"The source folder does not contain any supported camera raw files". The source folder I have selected contains the Nikon D300 NEF raw images I have downloaded from the camera.
Any help on this would be gratefully received. Am I carrying out the process as I should do? I cannot see that I am doing anything wrong!
    Many thanks
    Carl

You must be using an older version of the DNG converter. Click on the button "About DNG converter...", it should show 5.6. something, or higher.
    Download it from http://www.adobe.com/products/dng/

  • FLV Conversion in Adobe Media Converter substandard

I have just purchased the entire CS4 suite and have noticed some severe limitations to
the so called "media conversion" software that comes with the suite.
I have a 2400x600 mov file that needs to be converted to FLV for a Flash presentation.
However, this piece of software has a maximum resolution of 1920x600 in this
    situation.
As this is 2009, this is totally unacceptable, and even when upgrading to the latest
updated the flv conversions are still limited to 1920x600.
(Interestingly enough Flash Mx2004 can do a 2400x600 transconvert)

Please tell us more about the source content. Are they from your own project? Did you rip them from a DVD?
Are you importing the DVD videos directly into AME, or are they in Premiere sequences that you're exporting to AME? If the former, have you tried opening the clips in PPRO to see whether that app sees their full length? If the latter, do you have a work area defined?
Also, what version of AME do you have, and are you working on Windows or Mac?

  • Adobe Media Download Problem

I've just downloaded and installed the latest Adobe AIR - v3.6 as it asked the first time from Adobe, but it keeps showing this message. What am I doing wrong, or is it something else? I'm using Windows XP SP3.

    Hello,
This is a very specific case of some machines having problem with Air installation. I googled it and the closest i could get is to try installing an older Air version from here and see if that works.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/archived-air-sdk-version.html
    Try with 3.5 runtime.
If it still doesnot work let me know. ill try getting more help on it.

  • Conversions in Adobe Media Converter are too short

I've been trying to convert dvd videos to wmv's. Every video I try only shows that it's length is under 10 seconds, even though each video is from 5 to 10 minutes long. Why is it only converting 10 seconds of a 5 minute video?

Please tell us more about the source content. Are they from your own project? Did you rip them from a DVD?

  • Can't locate Adobe Media Encoder Vista (64bit)

I am having trouble locating AME in C:>Program Files (x86)>Adobe>Premiere Pro CS5.  This is the trial version, Installed it about a week ago and had to reinstall because of a system restore I had to do.  Last time I installed it, there was a sub folder with a shortcut to AME.   Now I get a dead link labled Adobe Media Converter and when I click on it, I get a "file can't be located" error message.  Anyone here having the same issue?  I don't want to take the risk of purchasing a corrupt file.  Adobe clean tool didn't detect anything.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
I think i'll take my future posts elsewhere.
Why?  The information you got was accurate.
John was describing the situation if you exceed your 30 days with the trial.  Harm was talking about obtaining En and AME separately from Pr; he wasn't talking about installing them separately.
Finally, you went looking for a 64-bit app in Windows' 32-bit Program Files (x86) folder.  64-bit apps are found in the plain ol' Program Files folder.  You were looking in the wrong place.
If you feel hard done by the other users here, I understand.  But I doubt you'll find as knowledgeable a group elsewhere, and you certainly won't find the employee participation that you get here anywhere else.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

  • Problem- Adobe Media Encoder Stopping Mid Queue

I was exporting my final movie, which was about 60 minutes. It was taking a long time to render when exporting to a quicktime file, which I expected, however, the Adobe Media Encoder stopped the rendering an hour later, only rendering half before shutting down. I am exporting it as a widescreen, NTCS DV Widescreen. Could have I screwed up the format and that is why it's failing to complete the exporting??? What can I do to solve this and have it complete the export. At the end of the report is says disk is full. But I know my hard drive could not be full.

FAT-32 is your problem. DO NOT FORMAT!!!!!
You want Convert. That is very, very different. Back in properties, look for the Volume Label of your drive. Copy down this label exactly like it appears. Capitalization is important. Get it right.
You will need to then use a CMD Prompt command to Convert.
To convert a volume to NTFS from the command prompt
    Open the Command Prompt window.
In the command prompt window, typeconvert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs
For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format.
    Notes
To open a command prompt, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command.
    Again - DO NOT FORMAT!

    Regards,
    Simon

well im guessing or atleast hoping you 3 who posted on here got it sorted out by now but thought id post on here to help anybody who has the same problem in the future.i had the same problem and after searching a few different forums i found that mp4's are a bit troublesome when converting them.apparently a good way to get around it is opening the mp4 in quicktimepro  and then exporting it as an flv.i dont know if its that simple but i dont have quicktimepro anyway so i couldnt do it.
but here is what i did- i uploaded my video to youtube.
then using     keepvid.com   i downloaded it from youtube as an flv file.(you have the choice of a few different file types)
now it works in my flash perfectly.
hope it helps somebody and if anybody knows an easier way (there must be one) please let me know
    cheers
