Adobe media core cs6 stopped working......???

Can anyone help?. i am new to photoshop elements 10. i get this box come up on screen when i start elements "Adobe media core cs6 stopped working" . It appears elements still works but if  i use smart fix for auto levels or colour the photo goes white....this never used to happen.

The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. This is because PSE saves your settings each time you close the application. Problems can sometimes occur if you don’t let the program close properly or if you launch another application too quickly whilst closing down Elements. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts. To begin, close Elements.
Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. After a few seconds release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Alternatively hold down the three keys whilst  clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys for a few seconds; then release. You should get the settings option.
When you see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Then wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.
If that doesn’t make any difference go to the Apple website and check for updates to your Quicktime player.
Also check your internet security/anti-virus software is not blocking. For example the internet filter NetNanny is known for sometimes blocking the .exe file 'Adobe QT32 Server.exe'. It may be possible to add that file to an exceptions list to prevent blocking.

  • "Adobe Media Core CS6 has stopped working" error.

I have had Premiere Elements 11, Photoshop Elements and LR 4 installed for over a year on my Windows 7 computer. Over the last couple months, within a few minutes of turning on my computer I get an error that Adobe Media Core CS6 has stopped working. It seems like this might be related to Premiere but I have not been able to find a solution. This occurs even if I have not run any of my installed programs. Any suggestions what is causing this and how to fix it?

I had not saved the detail files earlier today (it appears they disappear on a restart), but did a shutdown/startup a short time ago and had a recurrence again. (Although two subsequent cycles did not generate the error.) I saved the files and the .xml file indicates the parent process was Elements 11 Organizer this time, not LR4.
I had been living with this problem for a while, one of the set of saved error file sets was from 5/1. I don't recall for sure if that was from the first occurrence of the error, but I decided to look for other programs installed just before that time. I see that Adobe Creative Cloud was installed the day before, 4/30. I don't recall how/why that was installed since I don't have any Cloud products. Also installed on 4/30 were three Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable files, which show installation times one minute before the Creative Cloud installation, so I assume they are part of the Cloud installation. The next most recent (before 5/1) installed program was Smith Micro Anime Studio Pro 9.5, which was installed on 4/29.
The firewall settings have not changed. I was in a chat with my ISP when the problem occurred this afternoon, but not during the latest occurrence. I don't recall any updates since 6/24. I believe the error had occurred every time I started my computer before the Firewall changes, but it seems to be more sporadic now.
I will see what else I can come up with tomorrow since it is getting late. I wanted to get this all down before I lost my thoughts.
    Update 7/5:
I have more information, but still no solution.
I found this thread Adobe Media Core CS6 has stopped working related to the same error, but it had no solution. The error did not occur when I exited PS Elements or Premiere Elements as it did for that person.
I also found Adobe media core cs6 stopped working......??? and tried the steps to rebuild the Photoshop Elements editor preferences file, but no success.
I had noticed that Adobe Creative Cloud was installed the day before, so I uninstalled it. Error still occurred.
I installed a different firewall (Zone Alarm Free) and disabled Windows Defender, error still occurs.
Uninstalled Anime Studio Pro (that had been installed a couple days before, error still occurred.
I will provide more updates as I try more changes.
    Update 7/20:
    More things I tried:
Repaired quicktime via control panel, did not fix
Uninstalled quicktime, error did not recur
I noticed that there remained a plug-ins folder in the quicktime folder, so I renamed it.
Reinstalled quicktime from Apple site on 7/12 and the CS6 error has not recurred.
Additional info not directly related to original question, but occurred afterwards.
I don't think it is related, but a few days later started getting a small blank MFC CTxfiHlp window upon windows startup. I haven't resolved that yet, but it is related to my Creative XFi sound card.
I also noted when I reinstalled Anime Studio Pro that the readme contains a warning that 64 bit windows does not support quicktime; that I should use the 32 bit version of their software.
I installed the latest Creative sound card software, but started getting lockups. Still working on this, but the original problem seems to be solved.
The only other thing I can think of is that iTunes software had been installed, but I removed it. It is possible that caused a problem with quicktime??
Anyway, the removal of quicktime (including the Plug Ins) and re-install did resolve my problem.

  • Adobe Media Core CS6 has stopped working (Premiere Pro Family CS6)

I have recently upgraded my computer to better run Premiere and Encore but have now encountered the error "Adobe Media Core CS6 has stopped working". The program will then boot even after I choose either of the two options that say they should close the program. They both seem to run fine after getting past the error but I would rather not have to see it everytime and know that something is amis. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Quicktime like some other users have suggested but I think my problem may lie elsewhere. Can anyone help me out?

Find out where that's coming from and what it does, then reinstall or uninstall the program it came with. Pertinent information suggests that this may be a DLL of a DRM client for games that interferes with local ports...

  • ADOBE MEDIA CORE CS6

A statement popped up that read, " Your Adobe Media Core CS6 has stopped working." Any suggestions?

Tried the Adobe cleaner tool a couple of times. Tried to find the files using different third party (FileSeek / X1 Search) file finders. Tried a Start manual search for the files using the paths below.
Files that help describe the problem:
      C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Temp\WERE0FB.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
      C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Temp\WERF863.tmp.appcompat.txt
      C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Temp\WERF9BB.tmp.mdmp
But can't find the files (it's as if they don' exist) and the pop up keeps popping up like Energizer Bunny...
    Any more suggestions please.

    // blindOpen_and_IDML-Export.jsx
var _file = File.openDialog("InDesign-Datei"); // Auswahl einer Datei
    if(_file != null)
var d = app.open(_file, false); // Öffnen der Datei, ohne sie anzuzeigen // .................. Hier belibt das Script hängen wenn ich es aufrufe ohne das InDesign gestartet ist.
        d.exportFile(ExportFormat.INDESIGN_MARKUP,  File(_file.fullName.replace(/.indd$/i,'.idml'))); // Export im IDML-Format
d.close(SaveOptions.NO); // Schließen ohne zu sichern

    Come posso risolvere ?
Forse disinstallando media core ? Come posso fare ?
    Grazie

    Claudio1958
I have seen that type of message even when other versions were involved in that same type of situation.
I would have used the Adobe Cleaner Tool immediately after the Premiere Pro CS6 trial uninstall and before the Photoshop Elements 12 Premiere Elements 12 installs. Did you do that?
The ccleaner tool is excellent for getting rid of leftovers from incomplete uninstalls or installs. ccleaner comes in a Windows and Mac version.

Hopefully the above remedies will resolve the issue and avoid any manual removal of registry entries (can be dangerous if unfamiliar with registry editing).
The question is will Photoshop Elements 12.1, Premiere Elements 12.1, Elements Organizer 12.1, and QuickTime (latest version) continue to run after the cleanup and removal of CS6 leftovers? Worst case, uninstall/reinstall of the Elements versions and QuickTime. Hope not.
We will be watching for your progress.
    Thanks.

  • Adobe premiere pro CS6 stopped working July 10th, 2014

Adobe Premiere pro CS6 stopper working yesterday,
not only on my computer, my colleagues also have the same problem, I get a windows error and the program closes ...

This was Microsoft patch week... did you install Windows updates?
•What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
•What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
•Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
•For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
•-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS6 is a worthless piece of unstable trash

    8 gigs ram
    Intel Core i7 950
    Quadro FX 1800
Yadda yadda yadda. My comptuer should have enough juice to encode what I need it to (old NTSC home video footage). Unfortunately, regardless of my output settings, Adobe Media Encoder hangs and crashes when I try to encode a video with a length anywhere north of 10 minutes. It's infuriating. No logs, just an alert stating "Adobe Media Encoder has stopped working and needs to close".
This is a professional piece of software designed to do one thing and one thing well. The length/size of my source material shouldn't matter. I should not be having these problems. There should at least be a directory of comprehensive error logging so I can give a more useful description of my problem, but alas.
    My questions are:
    1. Are there any general tips you can provide to increase the stability of this useless product?
    2. What are my alternatives, software wise? What can I use to actually get what I need done? Any recommendations?
    Thank you.

What's the old saying, "You'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar"?
Everyone hear loves to help other users, but attitude is important. The CS6 AME works perfectly for me and most other folks, which would indicate that there is something wrong in your particular setup or workflow. I understand you are frustrated, but let's take a deep breath and get this fixed for you ;-)
First off, Adobe always comes out with bug fixes after the intial release - are you using the latest 6.0.3 for Premiere? I don't know if there was an AME update, you can check that easy enough.
What is the workflow - how do you capture the clips, what are the Sequence Settings, and what are the Export settings?
Do you have a separate drive for video, or using C: for it all? Drives defragged, not too full?
Graphics card driver up to date?
    Thank you

  • PRE 10 media core CS6

When i using organizer in PRE10 i get random crashes. The computer dies. I have only 600 small jpgs. I get an error saying: Adobe media core CS6 has stopped working.
I have PEPE10 and no other adobe software installed except reader and flashplayer.
    Its a Win 7 32b

I know you've got a relatively new computer -- but try running a Deep Care tune-up with Advanced System Care Free and see if that fixes it.
    http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html
Also, manually go to Windows Update and ensure you have even the non-critical updates. Doing this sometimes gets you important updates that don't download automatically.
I'm assuming you've got at least a dual-core 2.8 ghz processor and 4 gigs of RAM.
