Adobe Media Encoder as a Windoes Service

Hi,
I wonder if there is a way to open AME CS6 as a windows service to have it to work in ''silent mode''.
I want it to run in background on my computer to run my watch folder.

It is possible to run the standalone agent as a windows service using OPMN, have a read of the following doc in Oracle Support - "Troubleshooting The Configuration Of OPMN To Start, Stop And Monitor ODI 11g Standalone Agents [ID 1274484.1]"
Cheers

  • Adobe Media Encoder en service Windows

    Bonjour,

  • Adobe Media Encoder won't start

Not OP, but I have the same problem. AME just won't run. Double click, it's loading, I can see the process in Windows Task Manager but it just goes away again. Tried deleting that watch folder .xml but not working. Here's my spec from the FAQ:
What version of Adobe Media Encoder? Include the minor version number (e.g., Adobe Media Encoder CS6 with the 6.0.1 update).AME CC from premiere cc 7.0.1
What other Adobe applications do you have installed, and what application are you using Adobe Media Encoder with?Premiere Pro. Premiere Pro
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)Used creative cloud to update to latest version
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".Windows 7. All update patch installed.
Are you using Adobe Media Encoder through a Creative Cloud Membership subscription?Yeah
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime".N/A. App won't launch
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?No error message
Is the problem only occurring with a specific output format or encoding preset? If so, which one? If this is a custom preset not included with AME, then upload the preset file to a file-sharing site and provide a link.No.
What were you doing when the problem occurred?Booted up the computer. Launch AME.
    Has this ever worked before?Yes.
What other software are you running?Google Chrome
Do you have any third-party codecs installed?Avid DNxHD, Cineform Studio
Tell us about your computer hardware. Be especially certain to tell us about third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU).Regular desktop
Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration in Premiere Pro?Yes.

I have a problem like this:

That doesn't look like a complete panic report. Is there any more to it? Regardless, I suggest you run the extended form of the Apple Hardware Test. If it fails to identify a fault, remove the RAM upgrade and test with the original RAM.

I, of course, have no idea what any of the above means. Please help.

Looks like one component in Media Encoder is either missing or corrupted somehow.
Could you uninstall Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 and please make sure all files are deleted after uninstall?  Then, please try re-installing it.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 still crashes after beginning of encoding - bugs for months now!

Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 is still crashing after beginning of encoding! In my case this bug exists for months now and Adobe is not able to get rid of its own programming faults! The user pays a lot of money for the license and doesn't get a functioning software! I spent days to get a solution now, but NOTHING of your suggested help works!
This is my 'support' history beginning in AUGUST (!):
    Sent: Thursday, August 15, 2013 ...
    Subject: Bug Report
    Product: Adobe Media Encoder
    Product Version: CC
    Operating System : Windows 7
    OS version: Service P1
Concise problem statement: Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Go to Premiere Media Export
    2. Stating Media Export Parameters for ME
    3. Starting ME
    4. Define video title and path
    5. Start Media Encoder CC rendering
    6. ME states 'Preview not available'
    7. Rendering aborts after about 15 sec.
    8. Media Encoder CC crashes, no matter which kind of video! Every time.
    9. Direct 'Export' from Premiere CC is possible with all the same parameters, but CC AME crashes!
    10. Also installed Premiere CS 6 Media Encoder WORKS without any problems, but not the CC Media Encoder!!
Expected results: Media Encoder CC WORKING. This is still my expected result as a paying customer!
My steps to solve these problems (with Adobe's help) were / are:
    - Cleant every suggested media cashes.
    - Tried to render the sequences also without audio.
    - Tried to render as one pass.
    - Even if I try just to export ONE simple standard SONY PMW EX1 mp4 file which should never cause problems it chrashes, also without audio.
    - Also if I clean all preferences and caches before, EVERY file type crashes, no matter if I try to export a video or a still picture.
    - This is not happening in Adobe AME CS6 with the same files, but in CC!! CS6 still renders reliably with preview, but CC crashes without being able to show any preview.
    - Held the Shift key down while starting AME. This should reset preferences and so on...
    - Deleted suggested "7.0" directories as described in other forum posts concerning this topic.
    - Logged out of my CC account.
    - Deinstalled and reinstalled PPro, After Effects, InDesign, Flash, using Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. All is the newest version 7.2.
    - Set GPU renderer to "Software Only".  Some video cards have issues when GPU is set to "OpenCL" or "CUDA".
    - Checked updates available for video driver. Latest is installed.
    - Turned off "Enable Native Premiere Pro sequence import" in AME prefs.
    - AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt doesn't have any content, not a single line.
    NOTHING WORKED OR HELPED!

  • Adobe Media Encoder not launching when I clicked queue in Export Media

    Hi guys,
I have been trying for about 3 weeks now trying to render my work using Adobe Media Encoder but it just won't launch as mentioend in my subject line. Upon clicking on queue, the animation showing "preparing data for export" and "exporting data" appeared and disappeared and then nothing happens. Resuming to work on my project in Premiere Pro becomes impossible and a semi-transparent white screen appears over Premiere Pro and it hangs with a message from Windows 7 appearing saying that Premiere Pro has stopped responding.
Here are a few things that I have tried:
Updating all of my softwares included in the Production Premium Suite CS5.5
Deleting all files in the folder C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\5.5
Pressing Ctrl + Alt +Shift and launching Premiere Pro
Pressing Ctrl + Alt +Shift and launching Adobe Media Encoder
Opening sequence in Adobe Media Encoder to try to render
Called up Adobe Asia Pacific only to be told that I will charged something like USD$39 if they were to help me
    Disabling Mercury Engine Playback capability
The only work around I'm doing now is to copy the files to another computer and rendering from there.
Can anyone else suggest another way or point me in the right direction please?
My com's specs are as follow:
Windows 7 Premium 64-bit Operating System
    16Gb RAM
Intel Core i7 CPU [email protected]
    System type: 64-bit Operating System
    Display Adapter: nVidia GeForce GTX560Ti
    Many thanks people.

The X58 platform uses triple channel memory mode if you use 3 or 6 memory sticks, but if you use 4 slots, memory will only be used in single or dual channel mode, depending on which slots are occupied. Amount of memory has more impact than the mode used, but you may get better performance from 24 GB (6 x 4 GB).
However, I don't think that will solve your issue. Having only two disks is minimum. Adding a disk can certainly help, see Adobe Forums: Generic Guideline for Disk Setup
Have you turned of indexing and compression on both disks, have you uninstalled the sidebar, MSN and games? Have you disabled unneeded services, etc.?
It says Vista but also applies to Win7: Adobe Forums: Guide for installing and tuning a Vista...
DSLR material is usually HD, but .VOB files are SD, so there is a lot of scaling going on when exporting. Make sure you have enabled hardware MPE. Also have a look at Adobe Forums: System requirements for CS5

  • "R6025 -pure virtual function call" Error While Use Adobe Media Encoder

I'm trying to use Adobe Media Encoder (CS3) to output a project to H.264. I have about 3 minutes of footage on the Premier Pro CS3 Timeline, all of it in Cineform AVI intermediate format. When I export the movie through AME and select 2-pass VBR, it gets through the first pass, but crashes at 50% on the second pass with the error:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program E:\Progra...
    R6025
    -pure virtual function call"
Any ideas what may be causing this error?

    Point taken...
I'm on a Dell XPS 720 Windows XP (32-bit) system, with all up-to-date service packs and patches. I have 4GB RAM installed, and Production Premium CS3, TMPGEncXPress and Cineform's Neo Scene. Neo Scene is a recent addition and the problem existed prior to its installation. I have two 7900GS graphics cards (each with 256MB video RAM), running in SLI mode.
I dual boot Windows XP: One system is "Messy" with all kinds of stuff installed. The other is "Clean" and has virtually nothing installed, except for the three suites previously mentioned. No anti-virus or anti-spyware software is installed on the Clean system. I get the error on both systems.
I saw the post from September 2007 reference vcredist_x86. I'll be trying that at my next opportunity, however, I'm not sure that will fix it, as I don't see why both systems would suffer from the same corruption. I'll also be swapping out RAM to see if that fixes the issue.

  • Adobe Media Encoder cs5 - No audio

I am using Adobe Media Encoder cs5 version 5.0.1.0 on a Windows XP Service Pack 3 32-bit machine.  None of the wmv or avi files I try to encode have the audio track encoded.  I have tried encoding with both the "F4V - Match Source Attributes" and "FLV - Web 640 x 480" presets.  Neither of these encode the audio output at all.  The audio track plays correctly in Windows Media Player.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Very interesting data, Wayne.  Very interesting.
    > I am not sure how to encode to the other formats using AME, so I could not complete these tests.
Sorry, that's my fault.  Ignore that test.  I didn't realize you are using the Web Premium suite.  The other formats I referred to are only available if you have Premiere Pro, After Effects, or the Production Premium suite installed.  (I knew this by subconscious deduction, actually, since those products require a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or Vista and you stated that you're on XP 32-bit.  It just didn't trickle out to my conscious brain.)
Let's back off for a second and review what we know.  Please correct me if I'm wrong about any of these points.
You have WMV and AVI source video files.  The audio in the AVI files is encoded as PCM or MP3.
You can hear the audio in these files when you play them in Windows Media Player.
Encoding these files to FLV, F4V, or H.264 appears to complete successfully in AME CS5.
You can not hear the audio of the encoded files in Windows Media Player, Adobe Media Player, or VLC.
Inspecting the encoded files in VLC and Audacity shows both that an audio track exists and that there is a waveform in that track.
Using a different user account on the same machine does not exhibit the problem.
Encoding your source files on a different machine using AME CS4 (your colleague) or AME CS5.5 (my computer, with the sample you posted) does not exhibit the problem.
So, yes, this is most intriguing.  The difference in your ability to hear your source files but not the encoded files is most curious.
    I do wonder:
If you take one of your encoded files to a different machine, does the audio play? (If you post a sample, I'll try it here.)
Since Audacity shows a waveform for the encoded files, can your hear the audio in that application?
The only thing I can think of that is unique about the formats that you are using AME to encode to (FLV, F4V, and H.264) is that those formats all use compressed audio.  MP3 in the FLV format, and AAC in F4V and H.264.  (FYI - F4V is simply H.264 insided of a Flash video wrapper.)  What could be unique under your user account related to that?  I don't know.  Possibly if there is a utility on your machine related to compressed audio, that might be intercepting the audio stream in some way.  Do you have any software designed for capturing compressed audio from the Internet?  Or it could be related to the audio card drivers on your machine.
It might be worth sniffing around the %appdata% folder on your account and temporarily disposing of the folders for other programs.  If you can isolate something that way, you may be on the right path.
You might also want to run msconfig (Start > Run > msconfig) to disable background applications and services that could be hijacking the audio.  Go to the Startup tab there, clear everything, reboot, and see what happens.  If that works, start putting the services back one-by-one until you find the culprit.

  • Adobe Media Encoder fails on launch

Every time I go to render media, when Adobe Media Encoder launches, the file fails. I get a non-descript dialog that says "Installation error: Please ensure this product has been installed properly." This happens immediately after I start the AME queue and it begins to load the .prproj file (which is already open in Premiere Pro, since that's where I exported from in the first place).
I ran Adobe Updater and got the newest version of everything, except for the latest CS4 "Services Update" which fails to install properly. I've tried that update numerous times (after restart, after repairing permissions) and it seems to fail every time. I didn't think this was relevant but thought I'd mention it anyway.
I'm on a Quad-Core Xenon Intel 2x2.5 Ghz tower, with 12GB RAM and 78+ GB free disk space. I'm trying to render a portion of a project, this segment is about a min and a half long. I'm on Mac OS 10.6.7 (latest update), using Premiere Pro CS4.2.1 (003 MC: 166418) and Adobe Media Encoder 4.2.0.006.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you have done a complete reinstall, and ran the Adobe CleanScript CS5 (that is the latest), then a Repair Install should not be needed - it would do nothing.
For info, to do a Repair Install, one would insert the installation disc. When the installer module has loaded, it will survey one's system. If it finds the Adobe program(s), it will ask if you wish to Uninstall, or Repair Install. When one chooses Repair Install, it surveys the system again, for that program, and will replace, or correct any issues. This is usually MUCH faster, than doing an uninstall/reinstall.
Good luck, and not sure what else could be the cause.

  • Maximum file size with Adobe Media Encoder?

I seem to be having a problem when converting files in AME.
I'm converting .m2v files into quicktimes files, using the DVCPRO HD 1080i50 codec. No sound is being exported with the audio.
Dimensions are 1440 x 1080, frame rate, field type and aspect are locked at 25, Upper First and HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.333) respectivly.
I've encoded about eleven other files of the same type without fail, however this certain file is at 1.7gig compared, where as every other file I wanted to encode is under 1gig.
I'm using an Asus N53SV with 16gig of ram, so I'm sure my laptop can handle whatever is thrown at it. I'm using a 64bit operating system on Windows 7 home premium Service pack one.
    Processor: Intel Core i7 - 2630QM CPU @ 2.00Ghz
    RAM Memory: 16gig
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce FT 540M
Progam: Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 ver. 5.5.1.12
    The error log reads:
    - Source File: G:\Digital Postcard\To convert\Untitled-6.m2v
    - Output File: G:\Digital Postcard\To convert\Untitled-6_2.mov
    - Preset Used: Custom
    - Video: 1440x1080, 25 fps, Upper, Quality 100
    - Audio:
    - Bitrate: DVCPRO HD 1080i50
    - Encoding Time: 00:09:50
    04/19/2012 03:19:30 AM : Encoding Failed
File size that I want to encode is 1.7gig
I'm assuming either the file is corrupt or I don't have sufficient specs to handle the large file.
    Any help will be great,
    Thanks.

There are no file size limits to the software beyond what would be imposed by the operating system itself and the file format of the drive.
So...assuming you have enough drive space, something else is going on.

  • Adobe Media Encoder crashes when I open a file

Adobe Media Encoder crashes when I browse to open a file.
I have a Creative Cloud subscription.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program through the Creative Cloud service. No change.

    Thanks for responding.
Yes, I am trying to utilize Photoshop CS (8.0) and I run Windows 7.1. I installed this from Adobe's Creative Cloud. The program opens, and I am able to open a Photoshop file with it, but then Windows tells me that there is a problem and is shutting down. I'm not sure would the problem might be.

  • Premiere stops when opening tab "Adobe Media Encoder"

    Working with Premiere CS3
When I want to export movie to flv, I open File-> Export-> Adobe Media Encoder
Then I have to select, but since a few days when I click the Adobe Media Encoder button, Premiere stops and is out of service.
When I start up Premiere again, it repeats.
Yesterday I've downloaded Quicktime (of a CD which needed it for playing).
But after uninstall Quicktime, the problem is still there.
So I've set back the date to Wednesday (two days ago) but nothing will help.
How can I solve this problem?

More information would be very useful. This ARTICLE will give you tips on what types of info are needed, and how to gather some of it.
    Good luck,
