Adobe Media Encoder: Audio won't export with video
I am trying to convert an AVCHD video for viewing on my iPad 3. I use Adobe Media Encoder and select the iPad 2 settings (1920x1080) and it exports the video perfect, but no audio. I have "Export Audio" checked off. I tried it with 5 other settings and it just wont include the audio. Any ideas?
Seems random people are running in to this, so hopefully this solution will be found by whomever's looking.
If you're exporting video files from Final Cut Pro as .mov, and then trying to convert said .mov to an .mp4 using Adobe Media Encoder and are losing audio even though you're multiplexing, try this...
Make sure that you export only a 2-channel audio track from FCP. When I export from FCP, I split my audio into various tracks by default. Great for making master clips, but problematic if uploading to YouTube or doing further encoding in Adobe Media Encoder. Like YouTube, if you have more than 2 tracks of audio, Media Encoder seems to get confused and ignores all audio tracks. Combine all audio into a 2-channel stereo track and see if that solves the problem.
Regardless of editing program, see if reducing number of audio channels from source clip solves problem.

Adobe Media Encoder cannot open, cannot export any video.
I'll keep it short, Adobe Media Encoder crashes every single time I open it.
http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/6617/entrypointnotfound.png
Tried reinstalling it, no success.
Any idea how to fix this? Because reinstalling does just squat.
Adobe Premiere Pro also crashes if I try to open the Export dialogue.
I wish they kept the exporting method of CS3, adding another program to the exporting process just complicates things...Remarkable...
Oddly enough, the solution was to run Adobe Updater and, well, update!
Sorry for wasting your time. -

Adobe Media Encoder Debug Event (when exporting audio)
I do alot of vj'ing... I have a good pipeline for exporting short film clips, optimized for the vj software I use.
I export photojpg at 75 quality, at 640x480, with no audio.
However, i'm now trying to export some of the same clips, but with the audio intact.
No matter what audio format and bitrate setting I choose, however, media encoder refuses to export the audio.
I've tried it with a number source videos, with various combinations of source video/audio codec combinations, and I continue to get the same error:
Adobe Media Encoder Debug Event
[..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-754]
When I unclick audio, each clip exports fine, as normal.
What gives?
-Matt DalyI'll tryed now everything. If I choose update it tells everything is up to date. If tryed to run patch from: "http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/mediaencoder/win/7.x/AdobeMediaEncoderTrial_64-7.0.1-m ul-AdobeUpdate.zip", it runs ok but nothing has updated when I start Media Encoder again.

Adobe Media Encoder CS4 Causing Jerky Playback with Speed Changes
Here is an Matrox AVI that was captured in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Watching the edited clip with a speed change of 600% looked fine when played in Premiere Pro CS4.
When I export the clip using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 as MPEG2 Blu-ray with a preset of 1440 x 1080i High Quality playback is very jerky. An export of the same clip with normal speed looks great??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Adobe Media Encoder CC won't start if flash player plugin is installed
Few days ago I installed windows 8.1 pro on a brand new PC and I was having problem starting AME, clicking on icon simply doesn't sort any effect, the software didn't open. I tried starting it as administrator, deleting \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\, reinstalling any CC program and even using AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool didn't solve the problem.
At the same time, I was having problem with flash player and firefox; it was just crashing at start, for example at the beginning of a youtube video. Even reinstalling the plugin or firefox itself won't resolve the issue. I resolved by disabling protected mode on flash and after that, the plugin works perfectly in firefox.
Going back to the AME problem, after a few tries, I managed to resolve it by doing this:
- uninstall Premiere pro and relative AME
- uninstall Creative Cloud app
- uninstall flash player plugin
- run AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool and clearing ALL the stuff
- install CC app
- install PP and relative AME
- NOT INSTALLING flash player plugin for firefox
Only by doing this, AME starts without any problem. Even after a couple of reboots, it starts nicely.
After that, I tried to reinstall flash player plugin for firefox. Just after install, with firefox still closed, i disabled the protected mode to avoid any crashes. And by this point, AME won't start anymore. By just installing the flash player plugin (without even let it crash once) AME doesn't start. The only thing that worked was to uninstall everything again, use the cleaner tool, reinstall CC and leaving firefox without the flash plugin. At this point AME starts without any problem. I tried again to reinstall flash plugin and voilà, again AME simply can't start.
What should i do to fix this? It sounds so stupid that i have to choose between flash plugin or AME, why they can't live togheter on my system? Maybe i just have to wait for an update (for firefox or flash) and see if it changes anything?
Here are some specs of my system, if it helps:
winows 8.1 pro x64 updated
16gb ram
Intel i7 3820
GeForce GTX 670
latest version of flash, CC and firefox
no plugins installed for any CC software
flash on internet explorer works wellI finally find out how to fix this.
With flash plugin installed and protected mode disabled, I also disabled hardware acceleration in flash plugin options. So I re-enabled protected mode and the plugin worked fine.
After that, I uninstalled everything from adobe, used cleaner tool and than reinstalled all the stuff. Now AME works fine.
Hope this fix will help someone. -
Adobe Media Encoder CC: Can I export to Apple ProRes 422 on a Mac?
Hi folks,
I tried to find some information about it, but couldn't really find a definite answer on this.
Unfortunately, my Mac is getting fixed as we speak, so I can't try this out either...
I want to convert mxf files (XDCAM HD 422 1080i 50, 50 Mbit/s with multiple Audio channels) to Apple ProRes 422 using Adobe Media Encoder CC.
Simple question: Is that possible or do I need to look for a different workflow/converter?
Thanks for your help!
Jens
PS: OS is Mavericks...Hi DataWrangler,
Thanks for posting on Adobe Forums.

Block noise in CC2014 Adobe Media Encoder Quicktime H.264 Export
I would love some input from the community here. Perhaps someone else is having a similar issue.
I've been wanting to make a full switch from CS6 to CC2014, but I am experiencing a host of issues that I don't experience in CS6. For one, when I export my Canon 5DMK3 DSLR timeline using Quicktime (H.264), I get an abrasive global noise all over my rendered video as if I was using a low data rate. I use the same settings in CS6 and experience no issues.
Since YouTube compression hides these artifacts, so please download and view original file: Dropbox - RenderArtifactsQuicktimeH264.mp4
Format: Quicktime
Video Codec: H.264
Quality: 100
23.976fps
progressive
Use Max Render Quality
Render at Maximum Depth
10,000 kbps
What I've tried:
1) exporting at 720p and 1080p
2) another codec (H.264 mp4 exports are clean)
3) all combinations of the "Use Max Render Quality" and "Render at Maximum Depth" settings
4) exporting straight from Premiere
5) rendering with and without effects (Magic Bullet Looks, sharpening)
6) GPU (CUDA) enabled and software only (on project and on Adobe Media Encoder)
Custom Desktop Specs:
Intel i7-3960X @ 3.3GHz
32GB RAM
GTX 780 Ti 3GB (and tested Adobe certified regular GTX 780 3GB)
GPU Driver: 340.52 (up to date)
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
SSD OS drive
WEstern Digital 2TB data drive
SSD adobe cache drive
I'm at a complete loss. What else could be contributing to this?Hi Mark,
I did install the CC 2014.0.1 update and the issue remained. I had a colleague tell me that he experiences the same issue for Format= Quicktime, Codec= h.264 when he has the "limit data rate" option checked with a value. When I unchecked the limit data rate (of my standard 10,000 kbps 720p preset) I got a clean render devoid of the previously mentioned artifacts. However, it defaulted to a 70,000 kbps data rate which of course is higher than I'd like/need. For now I guess I'll be exporting .mp4 h.264, but I'm still curious why the limit data rate doesn't behave like it did in CS6. -
Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 does not preview video in Lion 10.7.3
In response to a question in the Adobe Forums about this [ http://forums.adobe.com/message/4302817#4302817 ], Adobe said:
Apple changed something in 10.7.3 and we thought we worked with them to find all the fall out. This one slipped through. We will work with Apple to determine how we can address this.
Are there any updates on when this will be fixed? Not being able to preview video in AME5.5/MacOS 10.7.3 is a serious bug. I have to go back to an earlier version of AME on a Windows machine to encode FLVs.

Media Encoder audio glitches in all rendered video files
Recently Media encoder starter adding glitches to all render video files in the audio track. It will sporadically cut in and out from a different audio track from different video file. Has anyone else had this recent problem?
If you're looking to edit Divx files, the others have offered good advice. If you're looking to create Divx files, I recommend using an external convertor rather than AME.
By the way, the AME forum is below:

Adobe media encoder extremely slow VS export from Premiere,Why?
I am exporting a 30 min AVCHD to QT NTSC DV widescreen. When I sent it to AME it was taking an extremely long time,it said it would take 8 Hours! When I put it to export straight from Premiere it only took about 25 minutes.I have CS5 on my laptop and it did not have the same problem when I sent it to AME, it only took about 20 min. I tried uninstalling CS5 and reinstalling but that didn't work. This is frustrating because I need to export a lot of files in different formats. Anyone know what can be causing this
I also tested this exporting in other formats such as MPEG2 DVD and it has the same issues. If you queue or export from Premiere the resize will be done by the Mercury Playback Engine (ie the nVidia card does that grunt work) which makes it A LOT faster (like 4-10 times).
If you drop a file into AME directly it's done by the CPU.
Is that what you're doing? -
Adobe Media Encoder ruins the quality of mi video
Hello, I have a motion graphics video made in After Effects, I've rendered PNGs and import them to AE again to add final touches and when I render ir with AME with the Android Tablet 720p preset and it always make a specific section look terrible pixelated. Why is this, I even tried encoding just the PNGs alone and still does it.
I tired this peset b/c I want my file not to be that heavy. The Youtube 720 HD preset works fine but my file is over 200 MB.
How could I make the Android tablet peset work or get a lower encoded file?
Thank youDIsrael20xx wrote:
I'd like to try your suggestion and render a intermediate file, maybe a H.264,
NO!
An H.264 is a bad choice for an intermediate file. You don't want to introduce compression multiple times!
DIsrael20xx wrote:
I don't know how to choose a PNG codec. Is it a PNG secuence?
Choose QuickTime as your render format in the AE Render Queue. Then choose PNG as the codec. A decent alternative is the Photo-JPEG codec; it's a bit smaller in file size. While Photo-JPEG isn't technically lossless, it is visually lossless at high quality settings and is good for most intermediate uses.
Both of these options are technically image sequences in a QuickTime container. The big benefit of this over rendering an actual image sequence is that it behaves like a video file and you get audio and not just pictures. -
TS2289 Audio won't import with video in iMovie 11
My iMovie 11 (9.0.4) is all of the sudden malfunctioning - it's not importing the audio with the video. I've even tried importing clips that just a few days ago imported perfectly with the audio... but now the audio isn't importing. So I know it's not a problem with the video file. And I know that I have the volume up in iMovie... the intro w/ music that I have in iMovie is playing the audio perfectly. The problem is with importing a video file (mp4). I've literally imported hundreds of video clips into iMovie, and have never had this problem. My Mac is 10.6.8. Any suggestions?
I'm using imovie 9.0.9 with OSX 10.7.5
I also went through days of troubleshooting why some clips have sound and some don't. All quicktime files have sound when played from quicktime. But no sound when imported into imovie.
None of the Apple or User suggestions worked. But I finally found a solution. I'm working on a project with over 100 clips. Everything was fine until I tried to import around 20 clips at the same time. Some had sound some didn't. Also, when done with each section, I exported the movies and deleted the thumbnails from the imovie clips window to clean up and organize the session. When re importing clips which previously had sound, the sound was gone but the image would play.
What I found was that any file which had been deleted from the clips window, was now in the Rejected Clips window. Re importing the file would only show image but no sound. Once I Move Rejected Clips to Trash, emptied the finder trash, and re imported the files, all files played with sound.
Back up original files on hard drive
In imovie
Select View Rejected Clips
Select Move Rejected Clips to Trash
Empty Trash in Finder

Help! I can no longer choose Adobe Media Encoder when trying to Render a Video.
When I try to Render a Video, only the JPG option is available, but I need to render a Quicktime.
Most likely related is a new error I receive when launching Photoshop CS6 Extended: "Could not complete your request because of a program error." This dialog box has an OK button. Once i click this, it opens no problem. Had been ignoring this until today when I couldn't render my video.
I have not changed anything with Photoshop so not sure why this is happening now, when it didn't use to before.
Please help!Sorry, of course you would need that. I'm running Windows 7 Professional and have Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended for 64-bit. PS version number is 13.0.1 x64.
