  • Adobe Media Encoder CS5 crashes at a certain point while rendering

Adobe Media Encoder CS5 crashes at a certain point while rendering, I have also tried to render directly from Premiere Pro but this only makes PremPro crash instead.
The clip I am trying to render right now is 20 mins long, 1600x900 and is a .avi file. The output settings are H.264/HDTV 720p 29.97fps High Quality.
This all started happening after I re-installed windows.
    Machine Specs:
    Intel i5 3570k
    8GB 1866MHz RAM
Intel HD 4000 graphics (yes I know I should get CUDA)
I made sure that CS5 was updated before posting this.

    >1600x900 and is a .avi file
That size description makes me think this is a screen capture, not a camera file... if it is a screen capture, what codec/software did you use?

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 crash on startup

    Hello,
I've been using and troubleshooting with the help of Adobe forums for quite a few years now (thank you to everyone), but I don't recall actually ever posting anything, as of yet.
Problem:  Adobe Media Encoder was working fine yesterday and today it continually crashes on startup. I have accessed it alone through Start menu and also tried exporting a sequence from Premiere Pro as well as After Effects.  AME crashes every single time. I'm not sure what is going on. I cannot provide the specs as I'm on a work computer (which I think should be scrapped for junk) and it's a dodgy little machine.  Anybody else having problems with AME CS4?
I've also attached two screen shots. It's of the splash screen when it crashes and the error report.
    Thanks,
    nk

Ok so here's what happened to me: AME gave me the error "AME stopped working" It was working just fine the day before. Here is a list in sequence of what I did to try to resolve this issue. Reboot program, reboot computer, moved the project to its own Terabyte hard drive to make sure I had enough room to create the temp folders it needed when AME exports, Uninstalled all of the CS4 create suite then reinstalled and downloaded the 834MB update file, Prayed really hard, search forums, Cried out to God, came across this thread but it didn't sound right that all I had to do was delete a one KB xml file. But I started down that path anyway.  c:\Users\'your account'\appdata\roaming\adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\4.0\ is a file called 'Watch Folder Info.xml'  Im running Windows 7 and I had to show hidden folders http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial151.html once I could see the folders I had to take control of them. I thought I was the system admin but it didn't appear that way so I had to take ownership of the file http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-me nu-in-vista/ I finally got in and deleted the file and now it is working. It automatically created another watchfolder.xml but its still working. I think this is ridiculous that Adobe has this issue. It seems every 4 months or so PP has this huge issue that stops all my work. If wish I could find something more reliable but I have invested to many years into PP. I'm stuck.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC Crashing on Startup (W8)

Can somebody help with this issue as it's causing me a heap of problems. On startup, adobe media encoder crashes, it has been working fine for me for the past few weeks. I've updated all software via the creative cloud but I still get the issue.
If this is not a known fault, what should be the next step for diagnosis?
    Thanks in advance.

Please try holding Shift key while launching AME.  This resets the AME preferences.
If this doesn't solve the crash, directly delete the preferences folder <OS drive>:\\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder.  Delete a folder "7.0".
If none of above helps, please delete the media cache at <OS drive>:\\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe.
Delete "Media Cache" and "Media Cache Files".

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS6 crashes when quit

    OS X 10.7.4
    Multiple hardware types
Adobe Media Encoder CS6 as installed from Adobe Production Premium CS6.  NOTE:  CS6 was installed under a different user than the new user that is having AME crash.
    Issue:
Open AME.  Encode a file or do not encode a file because the end result does not matter.  Now quit AME (either hotkey or File --> Quit).  AME then crashes.  Keep in mind that no other CS6 programs are affected this way, just AME.
I ran into this problem weeks ago and found a solution that worked.  The fix was to delete one of the many many folders Adobe creates in your user folder.  The problem now is I cannot find that same posting where the fix was listed.
I deleted this "mystery folder" we will call it and then AME CS6 worked fine.  The catch was that I had to redo the whole "Adobe ID" sign in BS and retype the serial number when I opened one of the other programs.
Any guesses as to where this folder might be so I can delete it again?  I was hoping some others may have run into this same issue.  I will keep looking for the fix, and post it back here if I finally find it.

Just deleting the Adobe Media Encoder folder in the given directory works just fine and this saves a lot of trouble because your settings are maintained as are your presets.
But thanks a lot for the help

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 Crashing Immediately

    Hello,
I am running the CS4 Production Premium suite on a Windows 7 64-bit computer with 12GB RAM. Up til last week, the whole Adobe suite had been running smoothly. (I primarily use Premiere, Media Encoder, Photoshop, and Encore).  However, Encore started locking up the computer any time I tried to work on authoring a Blu-ray (it locked up immediately upon opening a Blu-ray project, and only locked up on a new project when I switched from DVD to Blu-ray mode).
I assumed that some of Encore's source code had either been moved, overwritten by something else, or that there was possibly a program incompatibility with something else on my computer. So I took the step to uninstall and reinstall Encore from the install DVDs.
Upon a "successful" reinstallation, I then went into Premiere CS4 to encode a timeline to a P2 file. Premiere seemed to be doing its normal exporting process fine, but Media Encoder would crash after the red splash screen disappeared. To be more explicit, the red splash screen would disappear and be replaced by a window the normal size of the Encoder program, but nothing appeared on screen in the window other than a small white box in the upper left with the rest just being plain gray (see attached photo). At the same time this white window appeared, Win 7 popped up a box saying that Adobe Media Encoder has stopped working and that it would search for a solution to the problem, which it never could do.
I then tried deactivating the suite, uninstalling the full suite and reinstalling, updating so the patches would bring it up to date, and then tried running Adobe Media Encoder again, this time running from the Start menu rather than from Premiere. Yet, it was still the same response: the program crashes immediately.
I would appreciate any suggestions and help that people can provide.
    Sincerely,
    Kevin T

  • Adobe media encoder automatic shutdown on mac

I was wondering if it is possible,
that after rendering (for example at night),
adobe media encoder automaticaly shuts down my MAC ?
Thank you in advance for the tips.

There is no feature in AME to do this. However, on windows you can arrange for Task Scheduler to shutdown your computer at a specified time. You just have to workout how long the processing will take. So, does Mac have a similar feature to Task Scheduler?

  • Adobe Media Encoder cc crash

Adobe Media Encoder becomes unresponsive if i try to add more than one file to the queue. This occurs by drag and drop of using the file explorer method. It ebven hangs in the same way if a video has finished processing and another one is added right away afterwards.
I am using win7 64 bit with 12 GB ram. No other apps are running at the same time. I have restarted the computer and app still fails.
I notice while running the app that dllhost.exe uses in excess of 8gb of RAM and continually increases.
    Any ideas?
    E

Bear in mind that iI am using win7:
I found every instance of 3d video files stored on the computer and deleted these (I personally did not want these, if you do need 3d video files on your computer you will have to work out how to save this in a way that does not create a thumbnail.
I then went in to the task manager (right click on the bar at the bottom of your secreen and select 'Start task manager'), select the 'Processes' tab, locate the process 'dllhost' (it will be the one taking up most fo the available memory) and kill it.
Instead of going through the steps with the task manager you could just restart the computer (which will also kill the process).
Let me know if this helps.

  • Adobe Media Encoder slow export on Macbook pro

I've got a Macbook Pro(mid 2012, Quadcore, nVidia 620/1GB vRam, and 8 GB of system Ram).  Takes roughly 8-10 times the sequence length to render out video to a MPEG2-DVD file.  I AM using Lumetri Looks in both cases but the Macbook Pro seems slow.  Checked the Activity monitor and using about 2.5 GB of Ram and only using about 5-10% of CPU.
Why isn't the Macbook Pro system not throwing more resources toward the render? (And no, nothing else is eating up the CPU either.)

If you're up for some testing, take a look at this.  I'd love to know what your results are.

  • Queuing from Premiere Pro to Adobe Media Encoder no longer working? CS6

    Hi there,
Just very recently adobe media encoder has stopped accepting que's from premiere. I choose export in premiere, setup the export details and hit que, adobe media encoder launches, but then it flashes once (like disappears reappears, very quickly) and then it just simply does nothing. No item appears in the que. I have tried opening the premiere sequence directly from adobe media encoder but it does nothing either. If I drag the premiere project directly onto a preset in adobe media encoder, it crashes every time. (though not sure if it would of done this previous to my problem arising)
Anyway, very frustrating as I usually work on a different project whilst media encoder is rendering something out. Now i'm stuck with huge down times as I wait till the render is finished.
Recently updated to Mac OSX 10.8.3 - I think this is when the problem began.
Just updated the CUDA driver to 5.0.45 but this has not changed anything.
Working on a Mac Pro 5,1, 2x2.4Ghz 24GB RAM, EVGA GTX 660 FTW,

Some suggestions and answer at least the 16 questions at the end of the Wiki article.

  • My Adobe Media Encoder CC keeps crashing - can anyone help?

Every time I open Adobe Media Encoder, it begins the start-up and then crashes before it opens the application.... any help?
Not sure if this is relevant but, it seems to crash while loading "ExporterQuickTimeHost.pm"

This thread suggests (for Windows 8 and I assume the same issue for Windows 7) holding the SHIFT key while executing AME. This resets the preferences, and worked for me when I had this issue.

  • Since new update - Adobe Media Encoder and CUDA not working

CUDA not launching - Premier CC says that only software will work. Media encoder crashes on launch. Re-installed both.
    Nvidia 670 GTX

What version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Pro CS5.5 with the 5.5.2 update).
    Premier Version 7.2.2 (33)
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
Problem started after I installed the software updated
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
    Windows 7 Ultimate - SP1
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime".
    REDCODE .r3d from R1 - RedCode 28
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
Adobe Media Encoder Has Crashed - please contact your system administrator. This graphics card is not supported, CUDA disabled.
What were you doing when the problem occurred?
Booting premier pro, opening a new project, when trying to render using the encoder
    Has this ever worked before?
Yes worked fine before 7.2.2 update
What other software are you running?
    Chrome, Media Player
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?
    RED Giant Universe is installed

Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration?
YES - Nvidia 670GTX video card
Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both?
Problem Occurs when rendering the final output for the Medi Encoder and the GPU issue when I open a new project that used to use Mercury
I also cannot seem to find the file within Premier Pro for "supported Cards" - I had this issue before and I just added my card to this list, this list seems to be missing.
    Thank you.

  • Where is Adobe Media Encoder CC

I think after an update, Adobe Media Encoder CC crashes on start-up. It actually crashed my Mac which never ever done it before.
I tried to update and found out that Media Encoder CC is no longer listed as an app.
Is there an application that replaces Media Encoder CC?
    Thanks....

Media Encoder does not show in the update section or download section of CC. It is installed and updated along with other Video tools in CC. Try to manually install the latest update : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5702.
