Adobe Media Encoder - CS3

In general, which encoding method would provide the least compression, highest quality?

OK, uncompressed or Lagarith or HuffYuv, depending on storage capacity and disk speed. Likely Lagarith is your best option.

  • How do I reinstall missing Adobe Media Encoder CS3 ?

I need some help here ??
When attempting to encode on Vista from Premiere 3.2 the Adobe Media Encode (AME) just goes off and hangs.
Looked for the error log which lives at
    C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\4.0\AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt
Make sure you have view hidden files turned on to look for this file..
Ok the folder "Adobe Media Encoder" is not on my machine... It looks like the installation is FUBAR.
I check CS3 Master Collection distribution - I don't see a module for Adobe Media Encoder to reinstall.
So my question is . How do I reinstall the "Adobe Media Encoder" for the CS3 collection ?
Anybody have a clue as how to do this ?
How do I reinstall the Adobe Media Encoder CS3 ?

    Mr Hunt...
I my view you're a wizzard with statute more than Merlin...
Here's what I found. Last time I shut down ProPre I was on a dual monitor.
I tossed my laptop in the car went to 2nd location.
Re-configured laptop for single monitor mode.
Upon starting up ProPre hammered encoding and the resulting screen opened ...... which I could not see.
PrePro DOES NOT sense hardware.... Dhaaaaaaaaa
Its stays stuck in dual monitor mode !!!!!
You need a second monitor to unstick it !!!!!
I was unable to set it back to single mode without the 2nd monitor !!!
Yahhoooo !!!! Its working again !!!!!

  • Watch Folder in Adobe Media Encoder CS3

    Hello,
We are currently working on a project to automate some video encoding. Files uploaded to a server should get automatically converted into a specific format. (Unfortunately) we only have the CS3 to work with.
We couldn't find the "watch folder function" (like in CS5, CS6) in the CS3 AME (since it is not even an own application, but built into Premiere/AE?). Does this AME version even support the function? Is there any other way we could solve the problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    - Marc

This functionality is not in the CS3 version of the application.

  • "R6025 -pure virtual function call" Error While Use Adobe Media Encoder

I'm trying to use Adobe Media Encoder (CS3) to output a project to H.264. I have about 3 minutes of footage on the Premier Pro CS3 Timeline, all of it in Cineform AVI intermediate format. When I export the movie through AME and select 2-pass VBR, it gets through the first pass, but crashes at 50% on the second pass with the error:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program E:\Progra...
    R6025
    -pure virtual function call"
Any ideas what may be causing this error?

    Point taken...
I'm on a Dell XPS 720 Windows XP (32-bit) system, with all up-to-date service packs and patches. I have 4GB RAM installed, and Production Premium CS3, TMPGEncXPress and Cineform's Neo Scene. Neo Scene is a recent addition and the problem existed prior to its installation. I have two 7900GS graphics cards (each with 256MB video RAM), running in SLI mode.
I dual boot Windows XP: One system is "Messy" with all kinds of stuff installed. The other is "Clean" and has virtually nothing installed, except for the three suites previously mentioned. No anti-virus or anti-spyware software is installed on the Clean system. I get the error on both systems.
I saw the post from September 2007 reference vcredist_x86. I'll be trying that at my next opportunity, however, I'm not sure that will fix it, as I don't see why both systems would suffer from the same corruption. I'll also be swapping out RAM to see if that fixes the issue.

  • Sizes In Adobe Media Encoder...

I make a PAL movie in Premiere Pro CS3 with clips from my Panasonic GS500 camera. Export to Adobe Media Encoder CS3 and it gives an output frame size (for FLV) of 1024 x 576.
I open the same sequence in Premiere Pro CS4 and Export to Adobe Media Encoder CS4 and the frame size becomes 1050 x 576.
Why the two different width sizes? I have not done any resizing or cropping.
If I do resize the video by half, so that 576 becomes 288 (keeping the proportion link checked) the size becomes 512 x 288. 512 is not half of 1050.
Also, why is there no Deinterlace button, as there was on CS3. Do we assume that the video is being deinterlaced by default? Or, as some others have complained when exporting to DVD, is the exported video remaining interlaced? This might account for why I cannot get the same FLV picture quality, using exactly the same settings, as I did with CS3.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Spok.

    HI Colin,
well, i used to be very happy with SorensonSqueeze, but for more than a year now, I'm just using Compressor (indeed from FCStudio).
It's VERY handy and lets you manage your settings in a way AME can't even think of in version 8... I mean nothing extraordinary, just the way it should, with possibility to move, edit, group, duplicate, rename, describe your settings...
And as for flv encoding (at the time of CS3, which I still have on my desktop machine) by installing the Suite, it would also install the codec for Compressor.. Excellent! Which CS4 doesn't do anymore... which forces us to use this terrible AME.. That's the scandale to my humble opinion!
But ok, via Compressor, you get the settings for flv... with the deinterlace box as on the attached image. Indeed with VP6 encoder.
And no, me neither, i'm not torn up, but it would have been nice Adobe gave us the info!
Compressor does also a great job in slomo. That's quite new but impressive. And Compressor is MUCH faster than AME.. AME takes ages! For a good result, I agree.
    voila...

  • H264 progressive / buffering problem - Media Encoder CS3

I am exporting using adobe media encoder CS3 with the following settings:-
    Format: h264
    Video codec: MainConcept H.264 Video
    Frame height/width 640 x 360
    Frame rate 25fb
    Fields order - None (Progressive)
    Pixel aspect ratio: Square pixels
    Profile:High
    Level:4.1
    Audio:ACC, 128 (Kbps), 48Khz, Stereo
    Bitrate settings:VBR, 2 Pass, Target 2.00, Max 4.00 (Mbps)
    Stream compatability:psp
The files are being played on the web via the Akamai player via HTTP progressive download.
When the file is initally loaded it buffers the WHOLE file instead starting automatically - obviously this is is not acceptable when playing long files - having to wait for the whole file to buffer before it starts playing. I have used free MediaCoder to produce H264 and not had this problem - but to do this i have to export and intermediate avi file from premier and then encode again - however i am not so pleased with the encoding quality and would prefer not to have this extra step in the process.
I have found this fix someone has made to correct the files once exported from Adobe Media Encoder CS3 - 'QTIndexSwapper2' - this works well - files play and start with continuous buffering - but again its an extra step (i have a lot of file to export - just want to export with Adobe media encoder direct to web using the built in FTP function)
Please could someone advise on the correct setting for exporting from Adobe Media Encoder CS3 - so that file start immediatly on loading instaed of buffering the whole file.
    Many thanks indvance

    Hi,
Thanks for posting that link...some interesting points and comments at the end...re: quicktime "save as" and streamclip ( free ).
I don't do what you're doing ... though I've noticed if I put samples of video for web on my website for people to check out they always DL fully before playing...so I usually tell people to just save to disk first and then play the video...
Anything I uploaded to YouTube gets converted by them and plays right away and beyond that I've had no need to get into this subject.
Good Luck and if you find out more useful info let me know...others could benefit later from your solutions.

  • Adobe media encoder in PP CS3

    Hi there
I'm using Premiere Pro CS3, when I try to launch Adobe media encoder or Matrox media encoder, the program bugs. Any help? I'm very new in this field.
    Thanx

Pull the Matrox out. Try with a standard project and likely your problems are solved.
Matrox cards are best used in a fashion they were designed for, as a doorstopper.

  • Exporting in Adobe Media Encoder fails in CS4 after CS3 is removed.

There's an issue with Adobe Media Encoder in CS4 where encoding will fail after CS3 is uninstalled.
If you never had CS3 installed on your machine - no problem.
If you never had CS3 and CS4 installed at the same time - no problem.
If you had CS3 and CS4 installed concurrently, then uninstalled CS3 - Houston, you have a problem.
You will need to uninstall CS4 and then reinstall CS4.
    The error message is:
    Encoding Failed
Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.
One more thing I forgot to mention, this is a Win-only issue.

    >Does anyone understand this?
    Simple:
    1. Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder that contains "dynamiclinkmanager.exe"
    2. Open a
second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder that contains "Premiere.exe"
    3. Arrange the windows side by side.
    4. Right-click on "Premiere.exe" and drag to the first explorer window, targeting between the files so as to avoid any specific file.
    5. Release the right-hand mouse button.
    6. Select "create shortcut here" from the pop-up menu.
    Cheers

  • Adobe Media Encoder stopped working in this project, works in others

Adobe Media Encoder just stopped working in my current project (in PPRO CS3). I'd output several MPEG2-DVD and Windows Media Files. Then I went to make one more MPEG2-DVD file, and when I clicked OK in AME, nothing happened. It should open a window to select where I want to put the file, and a few more options. No crash, no freeze, no error messages..and no output.
None of the AME formats work (WMF, Quicktime, etc). But other exports do work. I made my MPEG2-DVD file using Export to Encore.
I opened another project I'm working on, and AME does work in that project.
Back to my current project, and it still doesn't work.
    I've rebooted, and uninstalled-reinstalled PP CS3.
    Anyone fixed this?  Thanks!

After some more playing, I discovered that the other sequences in this project do still export using AME. So I made a new sequence, copied all the media from the problem sequence into the new one, and it exports OK.  I lose fairly extensive Encore chapter marking, but that's a minor problem. No way to "cut and paste" chapter markers, I don't suppose?
For curiosity value, if I make a duplicate of the problem sequence, all the media in the duplicate sequence has a red bar (unrendered) except for the parts that have already been rendered, which have a green bar. This is straight transferred DVCam media and shouldn't need rendering.  If I add some new video to the sequence, it gets a red bar too. Bizarre. Oh, and it won't export.
I tried a few other tricks with the original problem sequence: delete all media, and replace with one new short clip; delete the chapter markers; shorten the work area bar to just a few seconds and try to export "work area only"; turn off tracks; deselect either audio or video in AME... nothing worked to make this sequence export.
I also tried making a whole new project, and importing this one into it. Nothing changes - the problem sequence still wont' export, a copy of it leaves all media "unrendered..." exact same trouble as the original project. But it was while playing with this new project that I discovered that my other sequences did export, leading me back to the original project. That should have been the first or second thing I checked. Brain-dead Sunday.
Conclusion: something corrupt in the sequence, but darned if I can figure out what. Not the media. Not the chapter markers. There's code in the sequence itself, and I guess that must be it.
Enough time wated on this project. Thanks, all!
    Gary

  • Adobe Media Encoder Unknown Error

I'm trying to export an Adobe Premier Pro file on Adobe Media Encoder. Each time I try, it gets about halfway through, then this error message comes up:

  • Adobe media encoder export error  "writer not found"

When trying to export to wmv using adobe media encoder I get an export error of "writer not found". I did a search and found others having the same issue with no fix as far as I can see. Just wondering if anyone has any more iformation on this. I'm using Vista Ultimate and Premiere CS3.
    Thanks

I registered the WMEncoderHelper.exe file with regserv, but I still get
the "writer not found error". I wish I knew what codec it is trying to find and use.

  • Crash upon opening Adobe Media Encoder

    Hello,
I just built a new computer and installed Adobe CS3 Production Premium, with all the updates (Premiere Pro 3.2).
I'm editing a project with DVCPRO HD 720p clips.
When I try to open the Adobe Media Encoder, Premiere freezes, and I'm forced to restart the whole computer. (The task manager doesn't help.)
It seems to be random too- sometimes it'll open, sometimes not. But mostly not.
Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
    Windows XP Pro SP3
    EVGA nForce 750i mobo
    Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5GHz
    4GB ram (3gb usable, sigh)
    GeForce 9800 GT
    X-Fi
500GB system drive and two 500GB media drives (all with plenty of free space)

    Hi Jeff,
Yes, I can export to movie without crashing.
I ran Sherlock and it found a few broken codecs:
    "MainConcept (Adobe2) AAC Decoder"
    "MainConcept (Adobe2) H.264/AVC Decoder"
    "MainConcept (Adobe2) H.264/AVC Video Encoder"
    "MainConcept (Adobe2) MPEG Audio Encoder"
    "MainConcept (Adobe2) MPEG Video Encoder"
You can see the full txt report from Sherlock here:
    http://greatmindspro.com/documents/Codecs.txt
Is there a way to repair these? I don't have any extra third party software installed, except for Magic Bullet Looks, but it's only an effects-based plug-in- nothing to do with exporting.
How could I repair these broken codecs?

  • Adobe Media Encoder Doesn't recognize .prproj files

I am absolutely losing it here. I have read posts on various forums for hours, not only can I not find a solution, I can't find anyone who has this same problem. I'm running CS4 on a Mac and when I try to export from premiere, Adobe Media Encoder opens, then nothing happens. The file is never added to the queue, it just sits there. If I open Adobe Media Encoder manually then click add and try to select a premiere project, the file is grayed out. I changed the dropdown menu for file types to be "all types" and I click on a premiere file and it just pops up an error message saying the file cannot be imported. Same thing if I try to drag the file in. I can do absolutely nothing with AME.
I've seen plenty of people saying AME crashes midway through rendering or people saying they get an error saying to check if the source has been moved or deleted. I don't get any of that. I have nothing. It doesn't show up in the log or errors in any way.
The most annoying thing is that it used to work. I exported several files this way. I did not change any settings though, I even went and restored all the default settings. Still nothing. Its not just the one file, I've tried lots of different files, none work. I even reinstalled premiere, after effects, and AME and nothing changed.
I'm at a complete loss and I need to get work done and I wish I could post lots and lots of curse words here...

    Hi,
I use CS3 on a PC so I've no experience with mac problems...
However, even if I had a mac I would ask you first a little more about your computer....
I have heard of memory chips going bad on a computer and suddenly that causes things not to work...but there's no sense just guessing...
Try to tell as much as you can about your computer and about the assets you are using.
Since it used to work and now it doesn't , can you think of anything you added or changed on the computer ?
Sometimes adding software or codec packs or hardware can sorta change things on your computer enough to make weird things happen...
Anyway, give as much info as you can
I think there's threads here about what sort of info would be best to supply if you don't know much about your computer ...

  • Adobe Media Encoder Unexpectedly Quits

    Hello,
I was trying to export a flv file from CS4 today and I have been receiving an error Adobe has detected that the application adobe media encoder CS4 has Unexpectedly quit. I?m using CS4 4.1 and the matrox 4.1 beta build.
    Here are our settings:
This was originally a CS3 project now opened in CS4. The source footage is 720p, 29.97fps, m2t files
I was exporting them with the adobe media encoder
    Flv F4v
    Using no filters
    Format Flv
    Video
    On2 VP6 Codec
    Not encoding the alpha channel
    Resize to 640X360 (half size)
    Frame rate: same as source
    CBR one pass 500kbps
    Set key frame 150
Undershoot target 90% (this is new to me I left it at the default but what does this mean?)
And Simple Profile is not checked (This is new to me I left it at the default but what does this mean?)
    Quality: high
    Audio
    Stereo 64kbps
I tried making a wav file and a F4V and neither of those caused Adobe Media encoder to shut down. But as soon as I try making a flv using these settings the encoder opens then comes up with this error. I would think it has something to do with my settings maybe I need to change something. What should I do and what is a F4V file??
    Thanks

Updates.  This is becoming an emergency, I can't seem to export anything from any projects!
Has anyone out there updated their adobe media encoders? Whenever I go to file export I get a dialogue that says there is a update available. My editing system has not been connected to the internet so I have not tried updating yet.
We are using the Adobe 4.1 and Matrox utils 4.1beta.
we are using a Matrox Axio LE system.
In other tests I tried exporting from a 720p 59.94 project using m2ts and a 720x486 29.97fps SD project where the source file was a uncompressed AVI but both were unsuccessful.
I can however open up the adobe media encoder if I chose F4V upon export. When I choose FLV the encoder opens then quits. With F4V the encoder actually opens but when I select start queue the encoder just sits there and does nothing.
I have also just tried another test exporting from 720p 59.94pfs 1.0 PAR. to M2V which didn't work.
The encoder actually opens this time but when I start encoding the encoder just sits there. I can see that it starts to create a file in the specified destination but never really gets going.
I was using these settings: export Audio and Video, no multiplexing,
720x480 Quality 5 (all the way up, Progressive frames,
    4:3
    Audio 16bit 48khz,
    no filters
    M frames 3
    Gop 15
