Adobe Media Encoder Install Problem

Hi-
I am encountering some problems when trying to start Adobe Media Encoder. It jumps to two successive "Adobe Media Encoder" install screens (one for the exporter, one for the importer) After some loading time, it displays an error message "Installation was unsuccessful. Restarting Adobe Media Encoder will trigger the installer again. Please contact Adobe Technical Support if this problem persists." It then goes to the Adobe Media Encoder screen.I can load files, and export them, but I am unsure what is wrong that makes it complete this "install/installation unsuccessful" sequence every time I try to open the program or export in Premiere Pro.
I have tried re installing Premier Pro and Adobe Media encoder, and it does not work. Also, I have tried updating, to no avail.
I attached pictures of the install screen, and the error screen.
I am currently using a student liscence of Adobe Production Premium, Windows version.
Thank you for the help
Sam

Please contact Adobe Technical Support if this problem persists.
Good advise.

It may be hidden since it's a system folder. You can get to it one of two ways.
Either: Hit start button + r to get run, then insert  (C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\4.0\) without the () and press enter. *This is assuming that your username is Administrator. If the folder exists it will take you there, even if it is hidden.
Other way: hit start button on keyboard and type in "folder options". Press enter when it shows up in the start menu search. Click on the View tab then select "Show hidden files, folders, or drives" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".  This should enable you to see both the AppData and Roaming folder. You may want to undo these selections otherwise you'll see files you usually don't want to see. (thumbnail caches...)

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 problem

    I having a ***** at Adobe
I do have a lienced copoy  CS4 Design Premium. I down loaded premier  pro CS4 to demo it about 8 months ago and had not used it up to about 1 weeks ago. All that time Adobe Media Encoder CS4 did not work. I came back to the problem last week when I wanted to convert a video to a FLV file, did not work, I went through uninstalling and reinstalling Design Premium: reloaded parts of the the suite still did not work: went to the forums and tried every which way to get resolution nothing worked. This morning I opened up Premier  and  it world not open without serial key I was only a week into the 30 trial period. So I uninstalled premier. Reloaded the Media Encoder and guess what it worked. I am know looking at buying another product. Another thing while using the trial version I could not demo encore CS4.
    ****** off
PS I have now uploaded the FLV to my website. I never had any problem with AME CS4 until I loaded Premier CS4

  • Adobe Media Encoder Mac problem

    Hi folks,
I've put off posting this for 2 months now in the hopes that I could figure it out myself by reading through the myriad of other posts on this, but I'm at the end of my efforts with no luck.
    First off, system specs:
Mac Pro 2.8 GHz 8 core, 12 GB RAM, Leopard 10.5.8
Adobe Prod Premium Suite CS4 latest versions
Files: H264 1280x720 from Canon T1i, also same prob for any projects with footage from Canon HV30
Problem: same old one that's been posted a million times-
-click export and it opens media encoder, hit encode and it says "loading" for about 5 minutes, then gives the ole' "Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted" error
Things I have tried or noted:
-Uninstalled, Ran CS4 clean, removed anything (prefs etc) Adobe, Reinstalled
-made sure no Red Giant demos were on the machine
    -repaired permissions
I tried doing it on my Macbook Pro, and it works just fine, so the prob is specific to my mac pro
If there is any other ideas for this, please let me know, I've seen numerous suggestions for Windows, but not for mac.
One interesting thing is that Premiere crashed about a dozen times when I open it for the first time after an install, being an audio engineer, I have a ton of vst instruments on the machine, and it seemed like it would crash on initializing many of the plug-ins.  Native instruments in particular were bad, but after each restart it would move on to the next plug-in.  It did do this on the Macbook Pro as well though...
This is getting very frustrating as I love working with Premiere, but the only option for me has been to open the project in After Effects, and export from there... far from ideal.
Any ideas?  Any other info needed?  Thanks for any help!

Well Harm, you are now official tech support for Macs too!!! (whether you like it or not
I moved the vst plug-ins and voila, yellow export bar for the FIRST TIME in Media Encoder!!!!
So for now, I might try figuring out which is the culprit, but I think I'll just move the plug-ins whenever it comes time to export.
You have made my day!  (I just wish I would have asked for help months ago!)

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC won't start if flash player plugin is installed

Few days ago I installed windows 8.1 pro on a brand new PC and I was having problem starting AME, clicking on icon simply doesn't sort any effect, the software didn't open. I tried starting it as administrator, deleting \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\, reinstalling any CC program and even using AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool didn't solve the problem.
At the same time, I was having problem with flash player and firefox; it was just crashing at start, for example at the beginning of a youtube video. Even reinstalling the plugin or firefox itself won't resolve the issue. I resolved by disabling protected mode on flash and after that, the plugin works perfectly in firefox.
Going back to the AME problem, after a few tries, I managed to resolve it by doing this:
    - uninstall Premiere pro and relative AME
    - uninstall Creative Cloud app
    - uninstall flash player plugin
    - run AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool and clearing ALL the stuff
    - install CC app
    - install PP and relative AME
    - NOT INSTALLING flash player plugin for firefox
Only by doing this, AME starts without any problem. Even after a couple of reboots, it starts nicely.
After that, I tried to reinstall flash player plugin for firefox. Just after install, with firefox still closed, i disabled the protected mode to avoid any crashes. And by this point, AME won't start anymore. By just installing the flash player plugin (without even let it crash once) AME doesn't start. The only thing that worked was to uninstall everything again, use the cleaner tool, reinstall CC and leaving firefox without the flash plugin. At this point AME starts without any problem. I tried again to reinstall flash plugin and voilà, again AME simply can't start.
What should i do to fix this? It sounds so stupid that i have to choose between flash plugin or AME, why they can't live togheter on my system? Maybe i just have to wait for an update (for firefox or flash) and see if it changes anything?
Here are some specs of my system, if it helps:
    winows 8.1 pro x64 updated
    16gb ram
    Intel i7 3820
    GeForce GTX 670
latest version of flash, CC and firefox
no plugins installed for any CC software
flash on internet explorer works well

I finally find out how to fix this.
With flash plugin installed and protected mode disabled, I also disabled hardware acceleration in flash plugin options. So I re-enabled protected mode and the plugin worked fine.
After that, I uninstalled everything from adobe, used cleaner tool and than reinstalled all the stuff. Now AME works fine.
Hope this fix will help someone.

  • Is Adobe Media Encoder CS4 always installed on drive c:?

Since my OS drive C: is fairly full, I installed CS4 Production Suite on drive D:. It's all there, except for Adobe Media Encoder, which is in C:\Program files (x86)\Adobe. Is this behavior unique to Vista x64 or just my PC? It hasn't caused any problems, but I was just wondering.

Thanks, but I like to keep drive C just for my OS and few other items that need to be there. I have a couple of TBs of SATA drives also installed. I just wanted to confirm that AME is always installed on Drive C;, no matter what you do.

  • Adobe Media Encoder Export Settings Window Dimensions Problem

Any help on this would be appreciated: I'm on a macbook pro, osx 10.6, using CS4 Web Premium. I used to have an external monitor hooked up which had much higher resolution, so when using Adobe Media Encoder I'd click the Settings button on a video to get the Export Settings window, then stretched the Export Settings window to be the size of my external monitor. Now, I'm just using my laptop, and the export settings window does not have the resize buttons at top left to adjust it back to the size of my laptop, and the bottom third of the export settings window is getting cut off so I can't see the cancel/ok buttons etc.
I've tried re-installing media encoder (via reinstalling flash using the CDs) to try to 'reset' the window sizes, didn't fix the problem.
If anyone knows of any other preferences or something I could delete to fix this, I'd be one thankful dude.

Yes, I was getting the same response. It means Adobe is not using OS native windows (shame on them!).I just tried something with CS4 that worked, though. Try this:
    Quit Media Encoder
Go to UserHomeDirectory > Library > Preferences > Adobe > Adobe Media Encoder > 4.0 and delete the files called 'AMEPrefs.xml' and 'AppPrefs.xml'.
Then restart Media Encoder. For me, this reset the window size and placement. I tried moving the Export Settings window down so half of it was off the bottom of the screen. Once I deleted these files and restarted, the window was smaller and repositioned.
If that doesn't work, try downloading the demo of this product:
    http://irradiatedsoftware.com/sizeup/
It says that Adobe programs are "trouble" programs, that they probably won't resize, but they should at least move. If nothing else, maybe you can move the window to a negative y value (up) so that the resize handle is visible, then move it back down so the header bar is visible again...

  • MPEG-2 codecs missing from Adobe Media Encoder CS6 installed with Creative Cloud Membership

Some people who have downloaded Adobe Media Encoder with Premiere Pro CS6 as part of a Creative Cloud Membership subscription have a problem in which the MPEG2, MPEG2-DVD, MPEG2-Blu-ray, Dolby Digital, & MXF OP1a codecs are missing.
To fix this issue, install the Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1) update. Choose Help > Updates to install the update.

It's true. We reached the conclusion that the version CS6 is inferior, a step back,  than 5 or 5.5. What's good about it, is the Audution CS6, which is a great replacement for the flawed Audition CS5 accompanying Suite 5.5. You can almost forget the Soundbooth ... Soundbooth ... hmmm, better not comment, but anyway, the most polite thing that i can say it, is that it is a demonstration of how a company decides that its users are not able to think and not able to learn or understants anything. Anything else that i want to say about Soundbooth can not be written here ....
Adobe has demonstrates this development cicle along all this years. The products takes an uphill curve of development, and suddenly, goes back, showing wrong decisions was taken. So after some time , the products starts to evolve again . CS6 shows this stop evolving point. Now we have to wait untill new uphill curve of development starts again.
Well, but like their predecessors AA CS6 still not are good enough to dispense Audition 3, but it is a good outcome for the Suite CS5.5 Audition at least was a sign of improvement in this Creative Suite CS6
Many of the features and effects that have been deliberately taken out of version 5, now returned in 6, (some) showing that at Adobe at least recognizes when misses badly. But the optimal effects panel of AA3 did not return, some effects of AA3 as fade in and fade out did not come back in AA 6, the optimum VST support of AA3 to not are present in AA6 like many VST we have here that was expensive, you do not work in 6, thus, by these and other reasons we can still not dispense AA3.
Maybe in CS7 we users cam be satisfied.

  • Problems to Export to Adobe Media Encoder!

Hi, I´ve a problem to export to Adobe Media Encoder!
When in Premiere Pro CS4, I click in Files - Export - Media.. it shows a display saying: "An Adobe Media Encoder update s available for this version of Premiere Pro.."
But I´ve updated Premiere Pro CS4 to 4.21 and Media Encoder to 420! Both are installed!
And the display message s showed yet! So I cant send the project into Media Encoder by click, just if i open Media Encoder..
    How do I solve this?
Because before I´ve updated Premiere Pro CS4, I´didnt have this boring message..
    Thanks for your help!
    Gustavo

    Gustavo,
Though you have updated, it appears that the updater still thinks that you have not.
The first thing that I would do is follow the suggestion in the message. An alternative would be to close PrPro, and open Bridge, then choose Help>Update from there. Not sure why updating from Bridge seems to do things better, but it does for many.
This should do one of two things: actually do the update (maybe it only was applied partially? and clear the updater notification. I have had similar with Acrobat Pro, where it took three attempts to get the update to both complete and then to clear the notification messages.
Now, when I go to update from Adobe, I first shut off my AV, pop-up blockers and spysweeper programs. I trust Adobe.com, so do not want anything getting in the way. One more thing to do, prior to updating is to make sure that you have the very latest Adobe Flash Player installed. More and more, Adobe's installers rely on Flash Player.
That is all that I can think of now, other than Good Luck!

  • How do I find and install an older version of Adobe Media Encoder (Mac)?

I am currently trialing Adobe InDesign on my Mac (Snow Leopard).
I was unable to open the installed version of AME (7.0.0). I updated to 7.0.1 via this page http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?platform=Macintosh&product=160 but AME still wouldn't open.
As I understand it AME version 7 is only compatible with Mac OS 10.7 or higher, which would explain why it isn't opening.
Is it possible to download an older version of AME that would be compatible with Max OS 10.6.8? And if so, where do I find it? (The page above appears to have only update files.)

    > Is it possible to download an older version of AME that would be compatible with Max OS 10.6.8?
Yes. You can use Adobe Media Encoder CS6, which comes with such applications as InDesign CS6.

  • Problems rendering Every-line Composer texts with Adobe Media Encoder

I find the text paragraph setting "Adobe Every-line Composer" a huge time saver when dealing with large amounts of text in after effects. I rarely have to do any manual tracking or line breaks to make it look good, as opposed to working with the standard Single-line Composer.
The problem is that when I render through Adobe Media Encoder (which I'm forced to do since they removed H264-mp4 support from AE:s internal renderer) the text is treated like single-line composed text. So the final render doesn't look like my AE project.
I've found two solutions to this problem:
    1. Render a lossless video file in the AE renderer and then compress it with Media Encoder. This takes more time and HDD space, and it doesn't allow me to continue working in AE while rendering.
    2. Only use Single-line composed text and make all adjustments manually, the old school way. This would not be a problem if I had not already used, and fallen in love with, the Every-line option.
Is there anyone that can think of a third, and preferably better, solution?
I use the CC 2014 versions of AE and AMC.

No, the text doesn't animate at all. It's just a normal static text box. The text part is extremely simple. All animations are done in other layers and pre-comps, combined with pre-rendered 3D graphics from Cinema 4D, rendered as image sequences. My problem is a bug, plain and simple. Or perhaps you could call it a "lack of feature support" or an "incompatibility between AE and Adobe Media Encoder".
My problem appears only when my AE project has text boxes with the "Every-line Composer" option enabled (press the menu button in the Paragraph window to find it), AND the project is rendered through Adobe Media Encoder, no matter which output format I use. I have no problems what so ever inside of after effects, or when rendering Single-line Composer text in AMC.
So, the problem is that Media Encoder doesn't recognize Every-line composed text. Instead it changes it to Single-line composed text, messing up text tracking and line breaks.
To clarify: the Adobe Every-line Composer is analyzing the entire text box instead of only the current line. That way it can automatically change the tracking of individual lines to better distribute the line breaks and build a better whole, avoiding those stray words on the last line for example. Extremely handy, if you could only render it.
I never wrote anything about animating text or that the codec is related to the text problems in any way. AMC is the problem. The codec is only a secondary problem since its the lack of mp4 H264 support that forces me to use Media Encoder in the first place, instead of using the AE render queue as I did in previous versions of AE. I like many things about rendering through AMC, like being able to continue working in AE while rendering, but there are still way too many glitches. And of course, there's the inability to render flv-files in AMC CC 2014, and Adobe's inability to provide a solution other than "Use an older version of AMC". Flv is their own damn format for christ's sake.
    Well, enough rambling.
    To put it simple:
Has anyone had a problem with "Every-line Composer" in combination with Adobe Media Encoder? Did you find a solution other than the two less-than-perfect ones in my first message?
    Thanks!

  • Problem- Adobe Media Encoder Stopping Mid Queue

I was exporting my final movie, which was about 60 minutes. It was taking a long time to render when exporting to a quicktime file, which I expected, however, the Adobe Media Encoder stopped the rendering an hour later, only rendering half before shutting down. I am exporting it as a widescreen, NTCS DV Widescreen. Could have I screwed up the format and that is why it's failing to complete the exporting??? What can I do to solve this and have it complete the export. At the end of the report is says disk is full. But I know my hard drive could not be full.

FAT-32 is your problem. DO NOT FORMAT!!!!!
You want Convert. That is very, very different. Back in properties, look for the Volume Label of your drive. Copy down this label exactly like it appears. Capitalization is important. Get it right.
You will need to then use a CMD Prompt command to Convert.
To convert a volume to NTFS from the command prompt
    Open the Command Prompt window.
In the command prompt window, typeconvert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs
For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format.
    Notes
To open a command prompt, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command.
    Again - DO NOT FORMAT!
    Good luck,
