Adobe Media Encoder won't run

I can't seem to run my version of Adobe Media Encoder. I get an error which says C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\ CC\MediaCoreUI.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. I have installed the latest update of this product but it still doesn't work. Is there any way of uninstalling it and reinstalling it or do I have to uninstall After Effects and start again?

If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?No error message
Is the problem only occurring with a specific output format or encoding preset? If so, which one? If this is a custom preset not included with AME, then upload the preset file to a file-sharing site and provide a link.No.
What were you doing when the problem occurred?Booted up the computer. Launch AME.
    Has this ever worked before?Yes.

  • Adobe Media Encoder won't open MPEG2 files

    Hi All,
I'm hoping you can help me, I'm having some trouble with Adobe Media Encoder CS4, it won't open any MPEG2 files I throw at it.
They all open fine in Media Player Classic, MPC-HC and VideoLan, so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.
    Any ideas greatfully appreciated.
Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium
    AME CS4 4.2.0.006
    WinXP 64

Jim Simon, one came from a creative production house and a couple  came from a website that provides various videos in various formats for  testing video players.
Thanks for the information Colin Brougham.  Can any MPEG 2 importers/decoders be used?
I'm  new to AME so perhaps I don't understand how it works entirely but on  the AME information page on the Adobe website it says that MPEG2 files  can be imported, and there is no mention of only being able to do so  with certain Adobe products (unless I missed it).
However,  if I can open and play MPEG2 Files in various media players, surely  there is a way to use the decoders from those to work with AME?
    All advice greatly appreciated.

  • Adobe Media Encoder won't take mov. files!?

My Adobe Media Encoder will not take mov. files! That should not be a problem, right? When I click the Add-button the mov. files is not listed up unless I choose to show all files. And when selecting the file, the program says the file could not be imported -_-
Probably a stupid newbie mistake, but can anyone tell me what it is?
I have downloaded the latest flash CS4 trial package, which include the encoder, and am trying to encode files provided with adobe's book "Adobe flash CS4 professional - Classroom in a book"

I found the answer. I needed to install Quicktime lol

  • AE CS4 render engine / Adobe Media Encoder won't create a container for h.264 blu-ray

    here's the problem.
First, I tried to render a comp using the render engine inside AE using h.264 blu-ray preset.
It was supposed to create 1 file, but I ended up with 3 : audio track, video and a file with .xmpses extension.
I then decided to render it in lossless .mov, which works fine, but 3:40 minutes is taking up over 8gb, which is of course, unacceptable.
After that, I've put the .mov file into Media Encoder to try h.264 blu-ray there.
    Absolutely the same ********.
I'm using the Mac version of AE CS4.
Here is the screenshot of original .mov file and the result. As you see, it refuses to make a container. This is absolutely unacceptable

It raises another question: what settings do I need to encode the comp in 720p resolution without taking up lots of space?
Well, it depends on whether you need a production master (something for broadcast, for example, or to use as a source for other encoding tasks) or if you want a version for distribution. If it's the former, there's nothing wrong with "lots of space" - A Quicktime file with PNG or Animation codec is a good idea, but it will take a lot of space. If it's the latter, H264 is perfect but there's no built-in preset to take 720 material to the web.
    You could do this:
    * Pick the generic H264 template. You'll see that it will give an error if you attempt to render, because the default setting uses an H264 profile/level which doesn't let you use HD resolutions.
    * In the H264 video options, set the "Profile" menu to "Main" and "Level" to 4.0. That will keep it compatible to Quicktime and Flash player, while allowing larger frame sizes and higher bit rates.
    * Set Target Bitrate to 5-8 Mbps and Maximum Bitrate to 9-10 Mbps if you're targetting web delivery. That's a bit over what Apple uses for 720p content on the Apple TV, for example.
The H264 original preset will instruct you in the comment field to stretch to 640x480 in Output Module. There's no need, since you are using a profile/level combination which allows higher frame sizes.

  • After Effects CC // Adobe Media Encoder won't export H.264 mp4 files

It stops immediately after "Reading XMP", having exported a defective file (200 kb, about a second long). I've tried several presets in this category.
Is it a codec problem? What could be the cause?

    Rick means composition,  not compensation.
But he's right; we need that info.
Also, is this a dynamically linked project? If so, what exact version number of AE are you using (down to the last decimal)? Also, what version of AME? If not, what format and codec are you rendering to out of AE that you're bringing into AME?

  • Adobe Media Encoder update is available for this version

When I exporting a sequence in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, there comes a screen appears and indicates that "Adobe Media Encoder update is available for this version."
I go to the page "www.adobe.com / go / updates and downloads" Adobe Media Encoder CS 5.5.1 for windows 64-bit "
Subsequently I start the download file and get a message "Some updates were not installed"
How do I fix my problem and get the latest update installed, or get Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 for not knowing modest and the available update for "Adobe Media Encoder"

I selected run as administrator, no effect.
I am using version 5.0.3, on win7  when i select help and update the adobe application manager reads "your aplications are all up-to-date", i would assume this is the current version.
No matter what i try to export from any project regardless of codec or output i receave this message
"an adobe media encoder update is availiable for this version of premierepro. to download the latest update, pleas run  the adobe updater form the help menue orvosot http://adobe.com/go/updates."
I went to the help menue and selected help and i still get the adobe application manager "your aplications are all up-to-date"

  • How to enable Adobe Media Encoder in Nvidia Contol Panel

    Hi everyone,
I am having a serious issue.
Adobe Media Encoder is showing enabled gpu acceleration (Cuda). However,
Project: small test file. 35 seconds in length.
Composition: After Effects with Camera Rig, expressions = 4
    Lights = 2 . "Camera Rig " 3D text.

System Build: Windows 7 pro , OS SSD, 32gb Ram.
Graphics Card: Nvidia Quadro K4100M     .
As the project is imported to Adobe Media Encoder
    Set to 1080p h.264.
Ame indicates for a 35 second file will take 25 hours to render. !
Also and a big one is AME is running the system CPU at 100 %.
Lastly the Nvidia Quadro is set and enabled for running on Open CL.
Somehow Adobe Media Encoder is not running or being pushed by the graphics card.
Any help would be appreciated. I have been in touch with Adobe support and they are checking into this as well as Nvidia level 2 support.
Thank-you very much for any input on this.
Things are pretty much at a stand still until a resolve is found

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC won't start if flash player plugin is installed

Few days ago I installed windows 8.1 pro on a brand new PC and I was having problem starting AME, clicking on icon simply doesn't sort any effect, the software didn't open. I tried starting it as administrator, deleting \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\, reinstalling any CC program and even using AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool didn't solve the problem.
At the same time, I was having problem with flash player and firefox; it was just crashing at start, for example at the beginning of a youtube video. Even reinstalling the plugin or firefox itself won't resolve the issue. I resolved by disabling protected mode on flash and after that, the plugin works perfectly in firefox.
Going back to the AME problem, after a few tries, I managed to resolve it by doing this:
    - uninstall Premiere pro and relative AME
    - uninstall Creative Cloud app
    - uninstall flash player plugin
    - run AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool and clearing ALL the stuff
    - install CC app
    - install PP and relative AME
    - NOT INSTALLING flash player plugin for firefox
Only by doing this, AME starts without any problem. Even after a couple of reboots, it starts nicely.
After that, I tried to reinstall flash player plugin for firefox. Just after install, with firefox still closed, i disabled the protected mode to avoid any crashes. And by this point, AME won't start anymore. By just installing the flash player plugin (without even let it crash once) AME doesn't start. The only thing that worked was to uninstall everything again, use the cleaner tool, reinstall CC and leaving firefox without the flash plugin. At this point AME starts without any problem. I tried again to reinstall flash plugin and voilà, again AME simply can't start.
What should i do to fix this? It sounds so stupid that i have to choose between flash plugin or AME, why they can't live togheter on my system? Maybe i just have to wait for an update (for firefox or flash) and see if it changes anything?
Here are some specs of my system, if it helps:
    winows 8.1 pro x64 updated
    16gb ram
    Intel i7 3820
    GeForce GTX 670
latest version of flash, CC and firefox
no plugins installed for any CC software
flash on internet explorer works well

I finally find out how to fix this.
With flash plugin installed and protected mode disabled, I also disabled hardware acceleration in flash plugin options. So I re-enabled protected mode and the plugin worked fine.
After that, I uninstalled everything from adobe, used cleaner tool and than reinstalled all the stuff. Now AME works fine.
Hope this fix will help someone.

  • Why won't Adobe Media Encoder export WMV?

I am using Adobe CS6 Design Standard with Adobe Media Encoder, and I'm trying to export video files to WMV using the Encoder.  I'm am running Windows 8 and for some reason the option to export to WMV does not come up for me.  I only get four options of formats, while online it says I should have many more.  This is a full version of CS6 that I bought and paid for, and every program is up to date.

Can I just buy the converter plugins or do I have to buy premiere pro or after effects?

The formats and codecs available for export through Adobe Media Encoder differ depending on what Adobe applications you have installed. The vast majority depend on the video applications, After Effects or Premiere Pro, being installed.

  • Can't use Adobe Media Encoder CS5. It won't encode

I'm following lessons on Flash Professional CS5 Classroom in a Book and I've just got stuck on lesson 8 because AME won't work. The program opens fine, but when a drag the penguin.mov to it, I get this message:
    ""Adobe Media Encoder Debug Event.
Adobe Media Event has encountered an error
    [..\..\Src\QTTrack.cpp-395"
I then try to use it with my own movies to see if it works. It starts encoding and suddenly it stops and gives me the exclamation mark inside the yellow triangle under "Status". I click on Status and I get this message:

  • Adobe Media Encoder: Audio won't export with video

I am trying to convert an AVCHD video for viewing on my iPad 3. I use Adobe Media Encoder and select the iPad 2 settings (1920x1080) and it exports the video perfect, but no audio. I have "Export Audio" checked off. I tried it with 5 other settings and it just wont include the audio. Any ideas?

Seems random people are running in to this, so hopefully this solution will be found by whomever's looking.
If you're exporting video files from Final Cut Pro as .mov, and then trying to convert said .mov to an .mp4 using Adobe Media Encoder and are losing audio even though you're multiplexing, try this...
Make sure that you export only a 2-channel audio track from FCP.   When I export from FCP, I split my audio into various tracks by default.  Great for making master clips, but problematic if uploading to YouTube or doing further encoding in Adobe Media Encoder.   Like YouTube, if you have more than 2 tracks of audio, Media Encoder seems to get confused and ignores all audio tracks.  Combine all audio into a 2-channel stereo track and see if that solves the problem.
Regardless of editing program, see if reducing number of audio channels from source clip solves problem.

  • WMV Won't Import in Adobe Media Encoder CS5

Have several WMV files known to be good (they playback fine in Windows Media Player etc.) but when i try to import any into Adobe Media Encoder CS5 it quickly reports "Error Compiling Movie Unknown Error"
I'm running Windows 7 version of AME. Anyone know a work around? I need to encode these to FLV so they can be easily viewed by most web browsers.

The above links are outdated since in 2010 the only encoder now provided by Microsoft is Expression Encoder 4, and the free version only exports VC-1 files. If you pay $49 to buy Expression Encoder 4 Pro it will convert WMV to H.264 which is natively supported in IE9. Microsoft Expression Encoder doesn't output to Flash. • Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 won't even start

So, here I am at day 5 of the full CS5.5 install (after the trial period, during which everything functioned well) and each day there has been some new challenge. Today, Adobe Media Encoder just simply will not run. Not when trying to do an export from PPro and not just by itself, either. I get a splash screen for a few seconds, then it goes away and I get the notification that it has stopped working. Rebooting the system has not cured it. This isn't a game-stopper, inasmuchas I can still import a PPro sequence to After Effects and export from there. But certainly, I would like to use the AME. I also tried using the "Export" button in PPro's Export Settings window. Thankfully, it also works.
My first instinct was to attempt an uninstall / reinstall of AME, but I found that uninstalling AME is not an option. I'm guessing it's part of another application, possibly PPro, but I don't know.
    What say you?

    Stan!!!
I have a Matrox box also.  Please tell me, what was issue and how did you solve it?  Although, I'm half way done with the uninstall at this point.
