Adobe Media Server pro 5 Scalabiltiy Requirements with respect to the number of clients connected

what are the hardware requirements mapped to the number of clients connected to a vritual server running on a Windows 2008 R2 Server? At what point should the scaling be done, what are the best practices? The encoding rate used is 360 Kbps.

Hi Simon
The HTTP (HDS and HLS) streaming and recording limit in Adobe Media Server 5 Starter is 10 min. You'll need to buy a serial key if you want to record/stream for longer. Also there are no limit on number of clients for HTTP.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Apurva

  • Adobe Media Server Pro ver 4.5

Hi, we purchased the Adobe Media Server Pro ver. 5.  Instead of ver 5, we would like to implement it using ver. 4.5. Could someone tell me how we can download ver 4.5 and any special procedures we need to take if any?  Thanks.
I tried Live Chat, then was asked to post the question from the link below but no one has gotten back to me yet.

  • My waveform chart is suppose to be with respect to time but I've noticed it is plotted with respect to the number of times through my VI

I was under the assumption that waveform charts in LabVIEW 6i atomaticly displayed wired data with respect to time in seconds. However, I noticed that my chart plots data with respect to the number of data points my VI has generated. Is there anyway to fix this so that the chart actually plots vs. time. I've attached VI. The CIN is to a Computerboards Inc, thermocouple. Any help would be appreciated.

It appears that the chart is set to display relative time but since you don't have the acquisition in any kind of a loop, your relative time is pretty meaningless. You've got the dX of the chart set to be one, so yeah, at the beginning, the x scale numbers are going to be the same as the number of aquisitions until you've run it more than 60 times. At this point, you'll see the x scale show minutes and seconds. If you want absolute time for the x scale, look at the examples Real-Time Chart.vi or Variable-Time Chart XY.vi.

  • Questions on the capabilities of the Adobe media server and system requirements

    Hello
We need to send multiple video streams on different computers and screens in our organization. To do this, we need a dedicated server with the following functionality:
    - transmit up to ten (or even more) HD and FullHD streams simultaneously
    - manage playlists in real time without relaunching stream every time after adding items to the playlist
    - imposing of any text and video effects
    - use a variety of sources: a folder with pictures for the slideshow, video and audio files, video capture devices, video streaming from other resources
Is Adobe media server suitable for our tasks?
What are the system requirements (I do not mean minimum requierements)?
If we buy adobe media server, will it be enough? Or we will have to buy additional software products to provide all the necessary functionality?
    Thank you.

    1 and 2 is possible
    3 is not
4 AMS is not an encoder and does not encode or create streams. You have to use other software for that.Adobe FMLE is for live streaming...Use third part software like manycam(a virtual webcam on your machine) to generate video sources out of slide shows.

  • Is Adobe Media Server 5 Professional Compatible with Windows Server 2012?

Could anyone from Adobe please verify the following link is up-to-date and AMS 5 Pro does not support Windows Server 2012?

    Thanks

    Hi Jorma,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Does Adobe has any timeline for testing on Windows Server 2012 and for officially supporting the platform?
    Thanks again.

  • How Do I Edit Footage Recorded From Adobe Media Server?

I'm using the current version of Premiere Pro CC and I'm trying to import videos recorded live from Adobe Media Server.
I'm assuming it's the "nellymoser" audio codec that's stopping me from importing the recorded flvs.
I've been transcoding using ffmpeg, but I want to speed up this process. Any ideas?
Also, this may be a stupid question, but why the heck is a codec (nellymoser) that is owned by Adobe not supported by Adobe Premiere Pro?

I was reading up about nellymoser on Wikipedia (the most reliable source!) and it seems like Adobe has problems with the licensing for nellymoser. They apparently tried to release a standalone converter, but the licence agreement that was inherited with the codec didn't allow it.
So maybe it's just a rock in a hard place situation. Really too bad, if this is the case, that a company can own something but not be able to allow their customers to use it fully.

  • Vhost configuration for Adobe Media Server running under linux.

Please help me with Vhost configuration for Adobe Media Server running under linux.
I was running a media sharing website for which I wanted to use Adobe Media Server.
To use, AMS, I disabled the already installed Apache server and installed AMS along with the built in Apache server. I could successfully install AMS and could login to AMS Admin Console through my IP number.
My existing website, www.mydomain.com is having its contents located at:
    /home/mydomain/public_html
(Directory created under the old version of Apache not bundled with AMS)
Users will be uploading their videos, which will get transcoded and will be delivered to the website visitors in the existing scenario.
To use this website with AMS, this is what I did:
I created a folder for my domain, www.mydomain.com as below
    /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/www.mydomain.com
Copied Application.xml and Vhost.xml from /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/   and pasted them in /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/www.mydomain.com
In the Application.xml file there are 2 entries:
    <Alias name="mydomain.com"></Alias>
    <AppsDir>${/home/mydomain/public_html}</AppsDir>
Please help me with further steps to be completed:
Do I need to create a separate VirtualHost entry in the Apache installed with AMS?
If yes, can I specify already existing document root for my website (/home/mydomain/public_html) or do I need to create a separate folder under webroot/Apache ?
If yes to point 2 above, then do I need to copy all the existing contents from /home/mydomain/public_html to the newly created folder ?
I hope, I can serve all my static contents like html pages and php and media like video/audio. In that case do I need create alias to my Media/Alias folder or AMS will automatically start streaming when a video/audio is requested ?
What other steps do i need to complete?
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

  • How to pass an image from the mobile application to the Adobe Media Server?

The image is taken as photo from the CameraUI in the Client Side(AIR Mobile Application) and saved as a .jpg file in the mobile. I passed the image byte array values from the client to the server. How to convert that byte array to a file in the Adobe Media server?

This is very similar to the problem here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/655314
    processByteArray = function(byteArrayAsPlainObject){
// byteArrayAsPlainObject is an object serialized from a ByteArray but without functions
// we need to get a ByteArray that we can call functions on
         var usableByteArray = new ByteArray();
byteArrayAsPlainObject.position = 0; // make sure we start from the beginning
         ByteArray.prototype.readBytes.call(byteArrayAsPlainObject, usableByteArray);
// now usableByteArray contains what was in the original argument, but we can actually use it on the server side

  • Streaming interactive swf files using Adobe Media server

    Hi!,
I have some swf files which are interactive. Is it possible to stream them using adobe media server via http or rtmp? Will the resulting stream be interactive? I have to play this streams on android devices. If not possible, is there any other way?
I'm using 5.0.3 version of Media server. Our Android devices are Jellybean and ICS.

This kind of question really has a much better chance to get a good answer if asked in the product-specific forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_media_server

  • Possible to install and configure adobe media server with existing apache

    Hi All,
I am wondering if you know whether or not there would be an issue installing AMS Pro on a server that is already running a Moodle installation (2.4) with Apache 2.2?
If I opt to install AMS without installing apache, can I manually configure the exiting apache to enable iOS support, etc?
    Any information is most appreciated!
    Cheers,
    G

You better post this question in the correct forum: Adobe Media Server maybe the moderator can move it.

  • How do I edit the permissions that Adobe Media Server creates directories with?

OS: CentOS 6.6 AWS-provided AMI found here
I'm using Adobe Media Server 5.0.7.
I have my application set up so that when a user records a video to the server, it goes into its own directory.
If this directory does not exist, it is created automatically by AMS. The problem is that this new directory is created with a permission level that prevents my other app from reading and accessing objects inside of it.
How can I tell AMS to create directories with a permissions level that I specify?

I was reading up about nellymoser on Wikipedia (the most reliable source!) and it seems like Adobe has problems with the licensing for nellymoser. They apparently tried to release a standalone converter, but the licence agreement that was inherited with the codec didn't allow it.

I am producing web-tv/broadcasting live/live streaming. Still I want to have the full HD quality and adobe seems to offer that. What do i get if I purchase the Adobe Media Server 5 (the latest version of media server from adobe according to the info i have got).
I have innstalled adobe flaSH MEDIA LIVE ENCODER 3.2 but I need a server to be able to stream to my website then Adobe Media Server 5 (HTTP live streaming server for multiple devices) will be the best choice i expect but i can use others servers too together with the adobe flaSH MEDIA LIVE ENCODER 3.2,  right? Tell me in a clear and simple, correct way how I can do this but answer my questions first. Also tell me the price on the mentioned server (AMS 5) for one year. Is it any gigabyte limit on the AMS 5 and if yes whats the limit? Best regards Johnsen, Norway, North west europe
