Adobe-modified mod_jk 1.2.37?

CF10, Update 11, RedHat Enterprise Linux 6.4, 64bit, Apache 2.2.15 (as bundled w/RHEL6.4).
I notice the Adobe-modified mod_jk is still based on the older 1.2.32 mod_jk connector. I noticed the source for this is also available now, and a trivial 5min attempt to apply the diff to the "pure" 1.2.37 has failed. I haven't really gone bit by bit through it all, although I suspect it wouldn't be too bad. It appears most of the changes are well labelled

Given the slew of changes in the mod_jk ChangeLog from 1.2.32 to 1.2.37, I'd feel better if I could switch to that. But since the Adobe modifications (one of which is to support the "max_reuse_connections" in workers.properties) along w/our internal policy of using vendor-stuff for vendor-software, prevents me from simply attempting 1.2.37(pure) or 1.2.37-manually-patched-by-me.
Anyways, long story short, was wondering if/when Adobe might come out w/a 1.2.37 version of their modified mod_jk.

Tangentially, have been unsuccesful getting proxy_ajp to interface w/CF10. I have it working great under CF9. Just wondering.

- where did you get mod_jk module from ?
- did you know that web server 7 bundles tomcat like web container within and if you want to deploy web applications then you can do by simply placing the war file under <instance-root>/autodeploy directory
- web server 7 also comes with out of the box reverse proxy configuration that can act as front end and redirect requests to your back end tomcat or weblogic server etc.
these alternatives would be more appropriate...

Improving the perspective control grid

The perspective control for photos is for me the best thing that has happened to LR. I can ( just ) about cope with the speed reduction, but the control for verticals, for rotation and for horizontals is superb.
At the moment it appears that the centre of the photograph is the point where the rotation and the vertical and horizontal transforms reference from.
As soon as you select the Vertical / horizontal / rotate / distort, the grid appears that aids you in setting the verticals etc.
There is no way of seeing the central point, where these transformations occur, you ony have the grid, so I am thinking that when you press the modifier keysthe control / shift / alt keys, a cross appears over the central point of the grid. This would give you the location of the central point. Plain and simple.
As soon as you release the modifier keys, this disappears, so you can just see the grid.
This would speed up rotation tremendously, as this is your reference point, at the moment, I juggle the rotation and vertical to get where I want to be.
Alternatively, like the Crop has various layouts, so pressing "O" could scan through these same grids, but we will need a central point because at the moment the crop does not have a grid to mark the centre of the image.
LR 4 may enable you to pick your reference point to do the transformations from, then, apply the same principal to that point with the overlaid rotation marking cross.
Any thoughts?

Using the arrows is old hat. I agree this helps for small adjustments. I use it all the time. I also like your idea of establishing a reference point.
Regarding your statement that no LR controls are like the PS transform - I disagree. The LR crop tool is similar (size, aspect and rotation). All I am suggesting is that the vertical and horizontal transforms be added to the LR crop tool, similar to how the PS crop tool (not the PS transform tool) works. There is no reason why zooming into the image could not be supported.
Consider this example. You are copying a document that is rectangular and located on a desk. You cannot place your camera directly over the document, so you take it at an angle. Then you want to correct in post processing. Using the PS crop tool, all you have to do is drag the four corners of the crop rectangle to the four corners of the document. Done. Try that in the current LR implementation. It can be done, but takes a ton of fiddling.
So, I still want both ways of correcting perspective, and I do not think this is against the "LR way of doing things". Adobe modified the crop tool, based on beta tester feedback, and they may well again. At least I know they will look at this carefully and come up with improvements based on their track record.

cela fait plusieurs semaines que la mise à jour de CC desktop pose problème et malgré les explications sur les forums rien ne marche, c'est TRES pénible. Que faire ? à la fin de longs téléchargement ça dit "Échec de l'installation de Creative Cloud pour bureau". C'est infernal ! Et dans le fouillis du site il est impossible de se repérer pour avoir la bonne explication et une méthode simple (et efficace). Peut-être que si Adobe modifiait cette mise à jour pour régler le problème...? Je suis loin d'être le seul !
J'ai désinstallé CC desktop, j'ai effacé ou renommé les fichiers dans OOBE (dans le dossier utilisateur et le dossier dans la librairie générale) comme indiqué sur les forums... j'ai même créé un administrateur root pour installer... RIEN ne marche. Je ne comprends pas ce que je peux faire comme manœuvres supplémentaires pour que cela fonctionne. Utilisé unistall et clean... Mais rien, toujours la même erreur.

En fait, le CC regroupant énormément de composants épars et variés, mis à jour très régulièrement, sur une quantité innombrable de machines peut rester un casse-tête pour de la résolution perso au coup par coup.
Et même si c'est très frustrant quand "on sait", ce que je recommande le plus maintenant pour les questions d'installation, pour l'avoir pratiqué, c'est le contact du support.
En semaine, par chat, même si l'assistance technique suit un script (et, cela n'engage que moi, qu'on pourrait condenser quelques étapes), quand j'en ai eu besoin cela a toujours été plus efficace que les recherches forum.
Si vous avez la chance de parler anglais, vous doublez aussi les heures ouvrables (enlever le /fr de l'url).
Il est tentant d'essayer ses propres solutions, ou d'essayer de se rappeler de ce qu'on avait fait l'an passé qui avait bien fonctionné, mais entre temps, pour suivre les évolutions des applications (et maintenant de l'application de bureau Creative Cloud en plus), le support technique reste le plus "à jour"…

I would say mod_oc4j is Oracle modified mod_jk connector connecting http server with oc4j, which is cluster aware and configured automatically.
soa_oc4j is the oc4j where soa enterprise applications are deployed. In SOA AS, there is also a 2nd oc4j which is normally used for user applications.

The only reason why Acrobat installation fails and throw this error message is when there are some services running in the background causing the installer not to complete the installation. My take is try the following steps and suggest if you were able to install the products or not :
1) Navigate to control panel and confirm that there is no line Item that talks about Acrobat. If you see Acrobat XI listed there, please remove them.
2) Perform a selective Start up using the steps mentioned in this link.
Please suggest if the above mentioned steps were able to resolve the query for you or not.

Modifying a PDF created from an Adobe Forms Central form.

I've created a PDF from an Adobe Forms Central online form (Create PDF from web page). I was surprised that all of the text fields were created for me, but was happy that I may not have to reverse engineer everything.
However the layout for the form is for a web-based submission and not really the right size for a PDF that I can attach in an email, potentially for printing. I'd like it to be printable at 8.5X11 if possible. There are also a few aspects of it that I would like to remove since it has instructions and the button for online submission. I want people to have the option of printing or filling out the form, saving it, and replying with it as an attachment.
Is it possible to modify the PDF at this point to reduce its size? Can I remove the instructions on what to do as well as the submit button, especially while saving the background coloring? It seems like there is quite a bit of wasted space with the headers/footers too. At 8.5X14, it still hangs over into page 2.

Steve, if you have access to the form in Formscentral, you can temporarily add a second page in Formscentral. Go to the place you want a page break, and click on the + button on the left top of the field where you want the break, and click on the "Page break". Now when you go to the HTML form it should show you only one page, with a next button to go to the second page. You could then copy the URL into Acrobat's "Create PDF" and get tha page. Then click on the next button in the HTML to go to the second page. You should be able to create the second page from that one too, and then combine the 2 pages in your PDF. When you're done you could remove the page break back in Formscentral.

I'm working on a small and simple pdf generator (as said in my previous question).
When opening my generated pdf with Adobe Acrobat Reader, all is OK.
But when I'm closing it, Adobe Reader popup a message asking if I want to save the modifications.
Why Adobe Reader want to modifiy my pdf??
Is there something wrong with it?
Here is a realy tiny small sample of a one blank page generated pdf (all is pure ASCII because there is no compression, no data stream,... and it's a copy/paste from a text editor, so I've no translated typo into my message).
I think I've followed the specification; but perhaps I've missed something?

(I can generate a more complexe pdf file with fonts, images,... it will be displayed correctly, but Adobe always want to modifiy it).

You need to log in as the administrator (seems like you are) and may need to disable anti-virus. You might want to copy the otf file and then uninstall that font, trying again.

Adobe Form Logo Edit(Modify) Problem in Travel Request Form of ESS

We have the ESS working in which travel Request form has got the logo of IDES (Adobe Form) thatb come from the t-code: TRIP. My query is to remove that logo and print our company's logo on the same. After doing many effort to change that logo, I am not able to make change on that Adobe Form. Please suggest how could we achieve that?

Hi,
As per your code, you are seletcing data from BSEG table as 'SELECT * FROM BSEG'.
BSEG is a cluster table. Its better to use only selected field from this table during select query.
Other than this run your program in SE30 and check analysis for the queries taking more time.
Better to modify them, tune them and re transport the program in production.

Why does Adobe Premiere Pro modify original footage/asset files (e.g. mov)? (CS6)

Background:
A colleague had given me a large 33Gb .mov for use in a project, I put this file on a backup drive.
I made an identical copy of this 33Gb .mov file and placed it in a folder that I'd use to work on a Premiere Pro Project.
I ran Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and dragged in the 33Gb .mov file into the Sequence (imported it)
Premiere Pro CS6 started conforming the file.
After it had finished, I noticed that it's Modified Date was just now i.e different to the Modified Date on the original copy of the file on the backup drive (see step 1)
I ran a BeyondCompare check between the .mov file on the backup drive (see step 1) and the one that the Premiere Pro project was using (step 2, 3) and Beyond Compare reported they were different.
I had initially thought it was unrelated file corruption of some kind, but I have checked this several times and got the same outcome, so it's definitely Premiere Pro deliberately modifying the file.
So I am puzzled: these are supposed to be the same file.
Why would there be a need for Adobe Premiere Pro to modify the footage?
What does it do to the file?
Would it not be better to create a separate file if necessary?
I can accept this if that's how it works and it's good to know that it was Premiere Pro deliberately modifying the files and not corruption (so my hardware ought to be healthy). But it makes more sense to me if Premiere Pro made separate modified copies for its own use. Modifying the file as it does hinders my process for checking the integrity of backups; if the original asset footage files were the same as earlier copies then it would be easy to know that the backups are OK.
Thoughts?

Kindly try the steps mentioned below.
1) Download the Adobe Reader.msi from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/
2) Run the .MSI for Reader and when you get the error click on Retry and installation would go trough.

Adobe print engine failed to output your data due to an unknown problem using modified font

I have a document I created in InDesign CS5.5 with no issues. One of the fonts had a some issues with how the letters looked, so I modified the font (True Type) with a font editor. The documet on screen looks fine and passes preflight with no issues, but when I try to print it to any printer or PDF (Adobe PDF or Winpdf wirter) I get the error: adobe print engine failed to output your data due to an unknown problem. I also tried to create a document in MS Word with the same modified font and had no issues printing. Can anyone check into the issue with InDesign with this font if I send it to you? I also did try to create a new document in InDesign with just some text using the modified font and it will not print that one either.

Did you change the internal naming/IDs when you created your varient? If not, try removing the version you began with. Paths all closed, etc?
Ian's application works fine but I don't use the light version--isn't there some limitation with it?
