Adobe moves project file to User/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems folder when I export using Encoder

Ever since the Adobe Premiere CC 2014 update, Adobe has consistently been moving my project to the User/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems folder whenever I export using Encoder. It adds a "_1" each time I export so eventually I have to resave (and rename) a project entitled, "Project_1_1_1_1_1_1" to the folder it was originally saved in. HOWEVER, this only happens when I drag my sequence to a preset in Encoder. If I export from Premiere and then queue it to Encoder, there is no problem.
I contacted Adobe and the man who assisted me proceeded to delete all of my preferences and told me my problem was now fixed. However, it still happens.
Has anybody else had this problem?

Sorry, I should have made it clear that the exercise I asked you to try was just a troubleshooting step to confirm whether the project gets moved when it's originally saved to the default location. I didn't mean to suggest that you should limit yourself to saving your projects there.
The next step would be to save a new project to your preferred path, then export and check whether the project remains where you save it.
But now I'm confused as to what the actual problem is since you say that "a copy of my project does exist in the original folder." Are you saying that when you export to AME, Premiere somehow loads the temp project? If so, what exactly are you basing that conclusion on? Perhaps posting a pair of screenshots of Premiere's title bar before and after exporting would help. That will show the path of the project.

Many of the users on my school network cannot save their Photoshop files to a specified folder. Instead the files are automatically saved to User/Library/Caches/Temporary Items folder.
I've changed the File Handling Preferences with no results in changing this issue. Since a couple users did not experience this problem, I'm wondering if it might be a permissions problem.

  • User Library "Caches" missing/invisible?

This is a problem that seems to have happened since I installed SL.
I am scanning my CD booklets into my Macbook Pro, basically so I can read them more easily using the zoom facility. Using an app called CdPedia, they were stored as follows:
    file:///Users/meng/Library/Caches/Metadata/CDpedia/eli-b-f.jpg
However, the Caches folder containing all my jpg's has vanished (although the Main Library Caches folder is still there). No problem, I thought, I'll just restore from Time Capsule.
But no - I go into TC (backups back to March 2009) and there's no User Caches in there either, no matter which backup I look at. (As a separate issue, spotlight doesn't seem to work in TC either so I am unable to search for any jpg's.)
So can anyone speculate as to whether I've lost all my pics, or are they still there somewhere but hidden from me? And why doesn't Spotlight work in TC?
I'd appreciate any thoughts or speculation. Thanks.

Time Machine excludes most caches. It backs-up the <user>/Library/Caches folder to preserve the structure, but excludes the contents.

  • I-Movie project file not readable!?!?!

Just did a lot of work in I-Movie 4.0 and had a good 25 min. of almost finished movie and a lot of clips stored in the clip window. This is a project I have been working on for a few weeks. Later when I went to turn I-Movie back on it said the I-Movie project file was not readable. I have never seen this happen. I don't know what I could have done? I was emptying some trash before I turned it off but there is no way I would have erased the movie. How did I corrupt the file? I can access the time line movie through the quicktime file but there are lots of missing sound and I'm missing all the extra clips. How can I get that I-Movie project file to open!?!?!?

It's usually possible to re-open a damaged project by identifying and removing any flawed clips — those that were damaged by emptying the iMovie Trash. I can usually help you do that if you send me a couple files.
This describes what files to send:

That forum Topic also describes the problem, if you wish to learn about it.

Are you running the 9.0.1 Update of the program and on what computer operating system is it running?
Is your video card/graphics card driver up to date according to the manufacturer of the card?
Is your computer optimized, including maintenance of pile ups of preview files, conformed audio files, and conformed video files?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
What are your project settings and what are the properties of your source media? When you say that "used to be able to export...." is that on the same computer, same brand/model/settings for the camera recording the video now in use, same Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
Where player are you using for the playback of these exports?
Please give us more details on the size of the projects (then and now) as well as details of the customized export settings in your Share/Computer/ route. Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is only a 32 bit application running in 32 bit or 64 bit system. Not sure if computer resources might be taxed more so now than before.
    More later.

  • Are Adobe Captivate swf files not compatible with IE8 or IE9 when inserted into RoboHelp projects?

    Hi,
I've published Adobe Captivate swf files and then inserted them into my RoboHelp project. I then synced my RoboHelp project with our website and the videos within online help are not functioning in IE8 or IE9. They are only working in IE11.
    Thanks,

    Hi there
When a SWF plays in IE, it uses the Flash Player ActiveX control. I'm not 100% sure that different versions of IE would share the install. So if you have one version of IE on your machine, perhaps it either doesn't even have the control added in or it's the wrong version.
One thing I would check in the browsers where the content seems to be missing is to right-click the blank area and see if you coax a Flash pop similar to below:
    Then note the version number.
You may find that all that you (or others) need to do is ensure you have at least a specific version of the player/add-in installed.
    Cheers... Rick

  • My hard drive is getting filled by files in my ~/library/Cache/com.apple.iLifeMediaBrowser folder.

I recently noticed that my hard drives free space was shrinking without my having created new files. I lost 4-10 Gb/day. There was no virus detected by Norton 2012. I checked the amount used at the root folder and found no significant increase. That lead me to believe there was something going on in the library. There is a huge folder in the library/Cache called com.apple.iLifeMediaBrowser. There are 200K+ of files holding 49Gb of data in that folder. I know enough not to mess with anything in the library folders but what are they there for and why so many?
I had to rebuild my HD in Feb 2012 from clean installs and backups of data files so these iLifeMediaBrowser files are from less than 2 months ago.

Some very good tips here- includes tools to view what is using hdd space. (just be sure to ignore the ads)

  • Can''t see inbox.mbox file in user library

For some reason, I can't see a .mbox file for my inbox when I look in my user library Mail folder. I can see a junk.mbox; I can see a deleted messages.mbox, but no inbox.mbox (or sent.mbox, for that matter). Can someone tell me where those messages live in the library? They must be somewhere, but I can't seem to find them. I am about to migrate to a new Mac Pro, and want to make sure everything gets to the new machine. I am currently using my laptop as my main machine, because my aging dual-867 mhz. MDD machine is nursing a dying hard drive, and nothing has been able to repair it, so I stopped using it. Of course, I still have a lot of mail on the old machine, and I wanted to archive the inbox contents to a .mbox file that I could import to the new computer. Are these mailboxes different from other mail folders? Thanks for any help.

Hi and a warm welcome to the forums!
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates.

  • SharePoint 2010: move files in the library to a folder

    Hi,
faced out with a interesting problem: have a library with several folders: A, B, C.
The folder B and C has several thousands of items and these folders I can open with explorer and manipulate with the items in it.
The folder A has ~65k items in it and several subfolders in it. I can open with explorer only subfolders of folder A, but openning A folder fails (through web everything works ok).
Tried to change registry key - FileAttributesLimitInBytes to different values: 100000000 , 300000 but nothing changed.
The goal is to sort files in the A directory to a different subfolders to have no files in that folder.
Maybe there are other ways to move these items to a subfolders?
    thanks for any help.

    Hi ,
    1.
You can use custom code to move the files in a document library to another document library .
    2.
Or you can use the workflow copy list items to another list .But the workflow will only copy one item at a time .
    3.
Open the site in SharePoint designer .Open the  All Files folder .
    4.
Then copy the documents which you want to move ,then page them into another document library  .
For more information ,please refer to this site:

  • Share files from the Library/Application Support folder between user accounts?

I am using Mac OS 10.10.2, and am having trouble with allowing my son's user account to see his Minecraft files which are on my user account (User/Library/Application Support/Minecraft)   how do I make it so that Minecraft will find and use these files rather than the empty folder on his own user account?
    thanks!

Thank you! I should have thought of that. So, what I actually did was go into finder, "get info" on the Minecraft folder, and check the "share folder" box in the info window.  I was then able to open his saved worlds on his account, and doing it this way will mean any changes to them can be accessed from my account as well.
    Thanks again!

  • Project-file contains user-regarding information

    Hi all,
after the first period of enthusiasm about JDeveloper 3
I noticed that in those jpr (Java-project file) files
information is stored that belongs to the actual
development session, for example : my settings about
    variable watches.
We want to use this tool with a version control system
for our projects. Therefore we need to share those
project-files in a team of developers.
Our problem is that the information about required
files for the project needs to be share amoung the
team members, but the settings regarding debugging
and working with the IDE have to be separated.
Now our version control system always complains about
conflicts while merging those project files and we
    need to change them manually.
This habit is quite ugly, though I like this tool.
Is there anyone having the same or alike problem ?
And maybe you've found a solution. Please let
    me know.

    Thorsten,
This problem is known and is being adressed for a future
release. For now, you can easily write a script
(Perl/Java/other) to strip out what you need to remove.

  • Adobe project file is hogging shared storage bandwidth even when paused

I have a particular Premiere Pro project, that when opened, completely hogs my Terrablock storage bandwidth. I have inserted a screenshot of the storage servers disk activity even when that project file is paused. I have no other project files open or file transfers going. When I close this project, all disk activity goes to zero. This happens with no other projects and I can open it from other Mac towers with the same result.
Here is an image of the disk activity with that project open and paused.

    Hi Mark,
Since my original post, I have noticed at least one other project hogging the storage bandwidth. Both projects are accessing completely different files and have a varying number of sequences.
The first project has about 45 sequences with none of them over about 90 minutes in length. The sequences are referencing .mp4s and are multicammed with two shots and occasionally contain another camera laid on top of the footage. The graphics were exported as Quicktime files and are only included in some of the sequences. This project also contains some title cards along with some png and psd files. The original stringout sequences of the footage were imported into the project using Media Browser.
The second project has 13 sequences and is referencing Quicktime Proxy footage including multicams containing two different shots. Most of the sequences contain only about 10 minutes of footage at the most. There are numerous title cards throughout this project and some of the shots are scaled in a bit. This is a duplicate of the original project (which is not hogging bandwidth) and somehow started causing bandwidth problems during the edit. No sequences were imported either.
I have also noticed that both of these projects somehow make Premiere Pro 2014 unable to close. A force quit is required for both to exit out of the program or open another project.

  • Final Cut Pro X Project file corrupt, how to restore for backup when not prompted by the program?

We have a project on an iMac 13 4gb RAM. We have discovered that it is not the event, but instead it is the project file that has become corrupted. When we try to poen FCPX it crashes, and reports that it has crashed. however, if we remove the project file and leave the event and then try to open FPCX, there is no problem. Looking online, usually FCPX asks if you want to open from the backup hat FCPX makes of yourproject. However, since we cannot opn FCPX with the project, then we cannot do this!
Just as a side note, this is a VCE media project that is due tomorrow... So any ideas are extremely welcome!!!

This is absolutely ridiculous:  a Project is a work so complicated, there should be MULTIPLE backups (as in Logic or Photoshop) and an easy "Restore from Backup" File command!  Instead, you must manually COPY from the backup folder in Finder -- OUTSIDE the program (and which contains only the most RECENT backup) into the parent project folder for the particular project.  This capability is almost useless, since the only backup you have might be just 15 minutes old.  Then you are up a creek.
Fortunately there is Time Machine, and you can use that to go back far enough to find the work you accidentally destroyed (or APPLE destroyed) and MANUALLY copy that over into the correct folder using Time Machine restore procedures.
I am finding, which led to rant, that when I delete an Audio Effect, the Whole Project is deleted when the audio track is selected.  I'm doing something wrong, or here's more work for the programmers.
Really, this is unacceptable work.  And thank goodness for my Time Machine.  Program 101 in work like this is MULTIPLE backup capability and an easy restore command.
This needs to be addressed pronto.  I'm holding my breath.
