Adobe Muse on BC WebBasics SEO

Having built a site in Adobe Muse, hosted on BC via my Creative Cloud membership I am having great difficulty in obtaining any improvement in search engine rankings. So far I have:
[1] edited pages properties for every page and inserted appropriate metadata in description, leyword and page titles
[2] applied [h1] style to relevant headlines on each page
[3] inserted appropriate meta tags in all alt text and image titles
I have seen reference to SEO in the Beta section of BC site settings, but my account does not offer this option – is this a feature not available to WebBasics users?
Any help would be very gratefully received.

Hi Howard, those beta features are for partner accounts only. The SEO ones in question only really enhance existing features of the admin interface wise.
In terms of SEO there are many factors, primary is content of course, and other factors such as site structure, speed, pages.... And many more are all factors. It is good you looking to do some of the basics there but there is a lot more to do with it.
How long has the site been up for, for example. 6 Months? What are your keywords, long tail, short tail? competion, what are people actually searching for etc... Heaps to factor to get good ranking and naturally it can take a bit of time for new sites to sit and rank.

Adobe Muse - Big problems with SEO/Metadata?

I recently completed mysite using adobe muse but I'm having major problems with the metadata tool, essentially it does not work.
I cannot find my site anywhere on google unless I type in the domain itself despite the fact that I have inserted a full description and several keywords. When it does appear the description isn't what it's supposed to be. Rather than take the actual description it just takes a paragrapgh from my site.
Does the metadata option on Adobe Muse actually work? Has anyone used it successfully. Seems to be a major flaw in the Adobe Muse product.

Thanks so much sir but a few more questions..(I am a Wordpress user) Where do I find or how do I *** " semantic properties to your pages by creating paragraph styles, applying them, and then choosing the tag type in the paragraph style options. You can add h1, h2, and so on, for example.
I am trying to learn this Muse..seems very positive but I cannot figure out how to do seo with muse as I have not figured out where to insert Meta info , header info or tags like i can with WordPress. Do you have any suggestions on this...also, have you had any luck with contact forms in Muse?..is it possible to export some of the new widget features of Dreamweaver CS6 into muse somehow.
Maybe I cab aleady do contact forms..Im I overlooking it?

I'm trying to undestand why adobe muse can't be seo friendly... Adobe muse is a good tool to organizate and create the html seo's jobs, but if you want to upload to your server you should have a critical error for SEO:
-Duplicate content. and for Mr. google isn't a good job. Example. http://miwebpage.com and http://miwebpage.com/index.html.
I tryed to install manually .htcacces file to the server, but doesnt work...
Perhaps i made something wrong... but if somebody can help me?...

If your server allow you to access .htaccess file, then try some steps given in the article below, it shows how you can use Duplicate content using .htaccess

Adobe Muse Advanced SEO Widget question

I have added Adobe Muse Advanced SEO for Local Business to a website. When I click on the verify the Twitter preview, it shows up as my Twitter account and info but with an Adobe Muse Widget logo. Is that correct? Also, when I click on the Facebook preview I get a warning "The 'og:url' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags." What does this mean and how can I fix this?

Do you also get the same error while using embed code for Twitter ?

Questions about Adobe Muse CC single-app membership.

When speaking to adobe customer service reps about Adobe Muse I feel like their taking me around in circles. My annual membership to the current Adobe Muse is going to expire in June. So before I sign on for another year I had some basic questions that seem to be baffling the adobe reps. one rep called Travis just hung up on me.
My questions;
With an Adobe Muse CC single-app membership.
Can I host a site on Business Catalyst for free?
The rep said I have to purchase Business Catalyst separately from Adobe Muse

How much space do I get on www.creativecloud.comwith a single-app membership?

With an Adobe Muse subscription, you get BC website hosting for 1 webBasics site. With a subscription to the creative cloud, hosting for 5 webBasics sites are included.
Single app subscriptions get 20GB of storage space on creative cloud.

How do subdirectories work in adobe muse?

I created a subdirectory for my site for 2 reasons: 1 seo 2 my site is getting too big to keep on a single muse file. The muse program begins to slow way down with larger sites.
I dont want to put the site on a subdomain (for seo and other reasons) so it's currently at:
http://www.j-26.com/adobe-muse-widgets/ecommerce/
Everything with the site seems to be fine but everytime i go to upload the site, I get a message saying, "Folder "adobe-muse-widgets/ecommerce/" does not appear to point to site "www.j-26.com"
I then hit ignore and it proceeds as normal. But that warning message is sketching me out so I want to see if anyone knew if there was something that I needed to do with the DNS records or something.

You've only entered the domain name in the "Site URL" field. If the site is going to be in that subdirectory, then the correct Site URL would be "www.j-26.com/adobe-muse-widgets/ecommerce".

Are you talking about "Tooltip" and "Alternative Text" for SEO.
Yes its possible to Do it in Muse. Here are the steps to do so:
1. Select the Hero image in Slide show.
2. Right Click on Hero image and select "Edit Image Properties"
3. Enter details in Tooltip and Alternative Text that will recognized by Search engines.

Metadata Question for Adobe Muse

It's the newbie again, I was wondering if anyone can help me with the Meta Data functionality in Adobe Muse. I'm not sure what should go into the HTML for <head> metadata section in the Masters Page vs. what should go into the HTML for <head> section for the other subpages? (Home, about us, ect.)
My understanding is that for subpages metadata, you input your Description, Keyword, then in HTML for <head> area, so you would enter in your Google Analytics code like this:

My situation is, I have an existing site that I am completey redoing in Adobe Muse. I want to use the current Google Analytics code on my new site, but write new descriptions and keywords for my new site for better SEO.
So, I'm not sure if my assumption above is correct for subpages, and I'm also not sure what should go into HTML for <head> on the Masters Page- is that just GA code too? Any feedback would be great! Thanks!

If you want the google analytics code inserted into the <head> of every page(which you probably do) you should put that in the master page 'HTML for <head>' section.
Description & Keywords should be different for each page if you want search engines to rank your pages highly, so you can fill those in on each page. You can add these to the 'description' and 'keywords' section of the page properties metadata tab, and Muse will wrap them in the correct HTML tag on output.

To do this with Business Catalyst would take some advanced knowledge of how Business Catalyst works. You would also not be able to do those things on the free Business Catalyst hosting plans. The free ones are only the webBasics plan and does not support those features. You would need to upgrade to the eCommerce plan.
You likely can't find videos on Business Catalyst advanced features with Muse because it can be quite complex. I do have a series of videos coming that I am doing that will cover some of these features.

Adobe Muse APTEE Licensing NOT WORKING!!

I am an IT Professional working for a major University in Missouri. We have an Apple computer lab of 26 20" iMacs, all running Adobe Creative Cloud with an Enterprise license. This license includes Adobe Muse (with its own serial number). We use Active Directory to manage users/group policies on all computers, and manage users on our Apple computers.
According to Adobe's support site, you can create a prov.xml file using APTEE and then apply it to serialize the Muse product installation for a computer lab environment.
I can only get this to work for EXISTING users. When a NEW user logs in to his or her account, they run Muse, and it asks for a subscription, as though Muse is not serialized. According to Adobe, you click on Existing Subscription anyway, enter your Adobe ID, and then it should still open. It doesn't..........it says the "subscription does not have a license for Adobe Muse" and gives the option to BUY or QUIT.
HELP!!!!!

Question from Adobe Muse beginner - I can't figure out how images can be uploaded in a slideshow/photo gallery in the admin console? I can edit or delete images but not upload additional images?

Error when starting Adobe Muse CC

Has anybody encountered this error?
Adobe Muse CC has encountered an error and will now exit. Please report the last few actions you took leading up to this error to the Adobe Muse CC team.
String 'Home' does not appear to be correct format to translate. String should be of form 'module::keystring'
This happens when I initially open Muse CC 2014. I do not even get to choose New File or open a recent file.

Uninstall and reinstall.
One or more of the Widget Library files that are part of your installation of Muse have been altered or were not successfully installed. These files are not intended for end user editing. The only way to revert them to their correct form is to uninstall and reinstall Muse. If you wish to have your own custom collection of widgets, use the "Library" panel within Muse. Don't directly open/edit the widget files within the "Library" folder structure.
